Julie and Sovanne! Both of them were great. Julie did a great job with my pedicure and massage, and I enjoyed it very much. I found parking close for that time of day. I was greeted when I walked in. It was my first time signing in and coming to this nail salon for service. I made my selection, decided on Polish, and selected what I wanted. I didn't have to wait. Staff were polite throughout my entire time doing my nails, and were clean I enjoyed Sovanne's detailed manicure and went in with my nails, which were a mess. it was a beautiful place and the employees were really nice but i came in for a soak off and my lady shaved my natural nails down so bad that on several nails either it's a very thin layer to my skin or it is my actual skin and it's extremely painful and red. i have somewhat thin nails already but ive never had an issue getting a soak off until now and i only went because i didn't want to damage my nails by removing them myself. i'm highly disappointed and i have to wait for my nails to heal. read more

I've tried this nail salon several times a couple years ago and the experiences were half good and half not so good...took a year or so off and then went the other day and really had a nice pedi with my husband. We picked one of the top pedis and our techs were experienced and attentive. We were both very happy. Issues in the past were inconsistency in the service...if I'm paying top dollar, I expect a high level of service. I haven't gotten that every time. Also, I get the same thing each time and one of the times my bill was $20 more. I asked for a receipt so I could check it out on their website and the receipt wasn't detailed, so not sure what the extra charge was for. The one thing that has been consistent is that it's a lovely and spacious location. It's also very clean and it just feels upscale. Tons of colors to choose from, too. read more

The water was repeatedly so hot I had to pull my feet out, and the technician just giggled instead of fixing it. I was also sent out before the clear coat even dried. The technicians are friendly and personable, and making an attempt to their best ability to make you feel comfortable, happy and accommodating. The salon is always clean and well kept and the temperature is always comfortable. Lower prices or better service to match the price tag. Both pedicurists did not do a deep cleaning of the cuticles or calluses, & did not provide a proper massage. Additionally, the massage chairs were out of service along with the built-in phone chargers. You're paying for the Venetian style ceiling & zip code, but that's about it. read more

If you are looking for a manicure with focus on the maintenance and care of your natural nails- I wouldn't recommend this spa. The filing to take off my old gel was rough. There were multiple times where the electric file hit the edge of my nail and stripped strong layers off. It was done quickly without care to the damage. The new gel is streaky (you can only tell in person) The pedicure was rough too. The cuticle removal was uncomfortable & the polish dried gooey,streaky and rough. My mom's friend's dip came out okay- issues with that too (clunky, not filed on the sides) she had to go back and get them fixed read more

Well, I gotta drop a star. I still absolutely love the customer service and absolutely love the atmosphere. So what happened? It's inconsistent. So I mentioned in previous reviews that I have had issues and they always get resolved quickly... Well, I'm tired of having issues with my nails and having to return back within 4 days to get my nails redone. I just went recently to get a pedicure and it was probably the worst pedicure I've had there. First, the male tech (won't name him) clipped my nail too deep on my right big toe and uneven on my left index toe (look at photo). He said my nails were naturally crooked, yet I've been coming to Anthony Vince for a year now and no other tech has had issues with my pedicure (I've also never been told this ever)... Two days after my pedicure, my nails already started chipping. Normally it takes about 2 weeks before they chip, but they are already falling apart :( I recently stopped getting manicures because the last 2 times I got a manicure the nail polish completely PEELED off. I've had 2 techs blame the brand of OPI nails, but then if it's a bad nail brand why use it? I'm super appreciative that my nails get redone, but when I've gotten them redone they are not the way I want them. For example, the natural rose tone I had to get redone and I just did them clear the 2nd time around. My gray with white nails had to get redone and I just did simply gray without the designs. It's slightly frustrating especially because it does get expensive. I feel like I wasted money this last time for my pedicure. I don't want to have to drive back again to get them redone, especially since they chipped 2 days after my pedicure and that NEVER has happened AND he cut my nails completely uneven. So this place is inconsistent. The techs have complained about OPI nail polish, but again, if you believe it's a bad brand then why use it? I want to give it 3/5 stars out of frustration BUT again, the customer service here is amazing. Seriously. They are very helpful. The products and services are inconsistent unfortunately. Side Note: The manager is awesome. I watched him handle a woman having an absolute meltdown because she could not get an appointment...Seriously... They unfortunately had to call the police on her because she was acting mother effing ridiculous. Please don't be that person causing a ruckus at 10 am because they can't fit you in as soon as you want to be seen. Take a chill pill and come here to relax. Don't get the police called on you. read more

I've received pretty nice nail services from a couple of techs here. The problem is that prices are skyrocketing and the work does not compare. A base charge of $15 for nail art, even if just on two fingers, is just too much. While I recognize that many of the techs do custom work, there is a difference between that and adding rhinestones or a basic flower design as an accent to the nail. Unlike other nail spas, they do not have a complete bar. Customers are offered only soft drinks, wine or water. Hmmm...seems a bit lacking in this aspect. Finally, all of the techs are definitely not as friendly as others. Some are quite friendly and professional while others are dry or give off the vibe that they just don't want to do your nails. I was even told that one of the nail techs who did my nails a couple of times would no longer be able to do my nails because she wasn't taking anymore customers with appointments. What??? She only wants to do "walk-ins". Hmmm...sounds fishy to me to say the least. Fortunately, the San Antonio area has lots of nail salons with talented techs, better prices, and great customer service! read more

I asked to get my acrylic nails removed earlier today and I had a nail technician named Amy. She was extremely rude. At first she left me with a bowl of acetone to soak off the nails. She walked away to go eat something for 10 minutes. She seemed frustrated the entire time. She said I could pay an additional $5 dollars to trim/cut my natural nails. I declined, so when she was done removing my acrylic nails she said "go wash hands bye". She didn't even apply lotion on my dried out nails. When I went to pay $10 at the register the man at the counter looked at my nails and I told him I don't think she completely removed the acrylic nails. There were plastic bumps everywhere. He told her to fix it. When I went back to her chair she told me "you didn't have to tell him" what kind of service is this? I won't return to this nail salon again. I've been going here for a while but after today's experience with Amy I will take my business elsewhere. read more

I went here out of connivence for the first time after shopping at La cantera. The atmosphere is so cute, and welcoming. I went in last Friday for a mani/pedi. The pedicure was awesome. The gentleman I had was Eric and he did a great job, was funny, and understood I am very ticklish so took care in that. However my manicure.. lord. My fingers still hurt. 2 nails gel has broke off and it's day 4. I have literal scabs on 3 of my fingers from a different guy than the one who did my pedicure. He somehow dug into the sides of 3 of my nails and took off a piece of my cuticle on another. I get things happen. But this is more than one finger. I debated taking medication for the pain bc it was that bad. I paid $140 for pain and a crappy manicure. I don't think I'm going to be going back. read more

He didn't really say much to me so I just showed the picture for reference hoping they would get it the same. I was fortunate to get an apportionment with Tony and Kim while I was in town for a weekend. I was excited as I heard Tony tends to get booked up pretty fast. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the receptionists and signing in was quick and easy. I came a little early so after picking out my color, I sat at the bar. I was offered a drink, and waited patiently. The salon itself is beautiful and everything is super clean and organized. Bathroom is also well kept, and nothing beats a clean public bathroom! Moving forward, I love the polish wall, and I appreciated how they label additional costs for certain polishes, as well as powder dips and shellacs. That way, I know not to be surprised during check out. Tony introduced himself and seated me at his work station. He asked what did I currently have on and proceeded to remove the previous shellac I had on. Tony was very gentle and made sure I was comfortable throughout my service. Even during shaping and filing, he was not rough and he was very thorough at making sure length and shape were all even. I decided to go with the dip powder and I am so happy at how everything came out. I had a few nails that were cracked and he placed tips on them. He made it look so natural where you couldn't tell which ones had tips. After finishing up with Tony, I was able to use the bathroom and head straight to the spa chairs where Kim was waiting for me. I have a thing about not getting both services done at once, as I like to be in a more relax state by keeping them separate. The receptionists were very understanding and helped accommodate to my preference. There is also a menu provided by the spa chairs for you to choose which pedicure service you would like. I went ahead and chose the standard pedicure as it was something simple and still very relaxing. Kim was also very nice and gentle during my pedicure. I'm very pleased with how my nails look, and I would definitely recommend coming here. Jenny does such a great job on keeping my nails looking fresh and stunning. She's friendly and helpful without talking too much. Very relaxing experience. The shop is is well kept and front desk is courteous and well managed. Prices seem in keeping with the San Antonio area and it's always easy to get in even as a walk in despite the high traffic location. Parking will be your worst nightmare because of the desired location but the salon isn't responsible for that. Just be prepared and if you have flexibility in your schedule aim for early in the week vs weekends. read more
