We went out for an anniversary dinner. The food was mediocre at best but the outdoor seating is hard to beat. There is not a better outdoor location in Bend. Our waiter was great, but the host/hostesses, while pleasant, need some training in professionalism because they were chatting about personal issues within earshot while we waited over 10 minutes for a table in a very empty restaurant. Any other restaurant that produced this food at this price without the ambience would rate a 2 star at best. From now on we will stick with the better value of happy hour. read more

Food wasn't up to Anthony's par and although our server, Arie, was excellent the hostess was rude and shouldn't have been managing seating at a McDonalds. We enjoyed the sunset special. The appetizers were great. The smoked salmon on a bed of mashed potatoes on a whole wheat cracker was different and delicious. Only good thing that I could say about this place is that the fries are good... my hamburger was way over cooked and so was the roll! I asked for it plan and it wasn't plan.? My mother asked for blue cheese on the side and it was on her salad in gross amounts, the whole thing was drenched in blue cheese! The bread was so hard! It dinged the plate when you put it down! The napkins were stained all over and the silverware didn't look clean. We came for stake and they were out of stakes and we were not aware of that until we tried to order. Celebrated New Year's Eve with our family tonight - 11 people (including 2 small children). The General Manager was very accommodating to our needs and our server, Monte, did an excellent job. My family went for the Sunset dinner. First when I sat down there was lipstick on my water glass. Then I was handed dirty menus. First impression not good. My chair had crumbs and the carpet under the table was covered in bits of food. The server was not very interesting she did not tell us the specials and was not engaged. The food was the saving grace. I could tell someone in the kitchen knew what they were doing. The problem is the front of house. Next I took my 82 year old mom to the ladies room. All the waste baskets were full and tissues were all over the floor. This was a Thursday at 5:00. The resturaunt was not busy. While in the bar we had a couple pretty bad drinks, looked at the menu and honestly, the prices didn't match the feel of the dining area. They seemed pretty steep for a dining room that looked kind of like an old Denny's with terrible carpet and cheap looking furnishings. Entry way looked pretty neat though. Service was not the best at Anthony's in the Mill. The food was also mediocre. Our clams were very fishy tasting and they didn't serve with lemon or any acidity. Our salads were over dressed and a little limp. I've eaten here many times when family has come into town and we wanted a very nice meal. I had never heard of Anthony's prior to going to the Bend location and since going I've been to several other locations, as long as I'm able to find an Anthony's I know I won't be dissapointed. The seafood is always tip-top, they have a wonderful beer and wine selection and the atmosphere can't be beat. The location in The Old Mill overlooking the river is the cherry on top. Sadly not worth the money for a nice, sit-down dinner. Over-priced for the food and food on the floor all around us. Food was good but for the price we expect a much better atmosphere. The men's bathroom was filthy with NO soap at all and paper towels on the floor and an overflowing garbage at 6:30 at night. I guess that means your food handlers aren't washing their hands with soap either. We love breweries but this is not a brewery and we expected a little more. And I would expect a high level of cleanliness at any restaurant or brewery. Disappointed. read more

Excellent restaurant! I went here with a group this past Saturday night and everyone raved about their food. The Oregon raspberry salad, the salmon and the creme brulee were all out of this world. This restaurant sits right on the river and offers a great patio for watching the inner tube traffic go by on the river. Nothing really jumped out at us on the lunch menu and we quickly realized this restaurant is a chain.. The fish and chips was ok, but not anything that left me wanting more. The fish was flavorless and way way overpriced. My drink came to me with no alcohol in it too :( if you're going to serve mediocre food at least give a girl some alcohol! I wanted to give this restaurant more stars but the service was awful! My husband and I had a nice seat outside. Another table was seated 5 minutes after us and their drinks/bread arrived long before ours as did their dinner even though we ordered before them. They has a different server. We asked our server for bread when our drinks came and she brought the bread with the dinner, which would have been nice dipped in the clam/butter sauce. But, the steak was cooked to perfection! It came out hot and the mashed potatoes served with the steak was so good, as were the vegetables, tonight green beans and corn. The drinks were nice and a good wine list. We are long time Bend residents and have been going to Anthony's for years. We had horrible service last night. After waiting for an hour for our meal we were told there was a large party about to be served and then they would START our meals. We ended up cancelling our orders and leaving after almost a 90 minute wait. While the wait staff was apologetic, nothing was done in order to attempt to correct the situation and management was clearly not concerned about it. Anthony's will no longer be receiving our business or recommendations. Extremely disappointing. read more

I just ordered the Asian Chicken Salad and I really enjoyed it. The dressing was so yummy! I cannot wait to try all the other menu items.

The cod was poor quality at best, but they have a salmon bite over a garlicky mashed potato on top of a cracker appetizer that is to die for. I don't remember what it was called, but somehow get it. The staff was great, and when I wasn't satisfied with the cod and said I should have just gotten a salmon bite thingy entree the waitress removed the cod from the bill and brought me exactly that. Tonight was my third time here. First two dinners were perfect and service was great. Tonight I ordered lobster fettuccini and have never in my life tasted lobster like that. It was disgusting. It tasted so much like ammonia it accually burned my nostrils. I sent it back and they cooked another tail. Same thing again so I just ate the pasta which was delicious. I had no idea lobster could taste like that so I googled it. It's accually from the lobster decomposing before its frozen. My waitress tonight was phenomenal and the rest of the meal was great. We arrived by 5:15 with plenty of time to order the early bird special. Our table ordered both great appetizers, salmon and shrimp cocktail. We started with happy hour yummy peach lemonades. My husband ordered the Caesar salad with anchovies and I tried the clam chowder, both very good. My salmon duet came with interesting rice and string beans. The rockfish my husband ordered was perfect. The mousse and burnt cream desserts were wonderful endings to meals that only cost $25 each. Our waiter, Brian, was friendly and attentive. We waited 1 hour and 45 minuets for our food. All the tables around us got seated after we placed our order and got their food before us. Our server was very rude and not helpful at all. An example of complete customer service... I just had the opportunity to celebrate my 'milestone' birthday at their restaurant. A few things went wrong, as can happen in the service industry. In my scrutiny of the situation, having come from the same industry myself, I only saw superior acknowledgement and understanding, the service that I had the privilege of obtaining was outstanding in righting their wrong.
