Been meaning to try this place and now I'm happy to say I did. Atmosphere: Went in for breakfast on Saturday morning around 9am and the place wasn't crowded at all. Very casual place. Food: Ordered the pumpkin cheesecake muffin toasted with butter for sharing. The muffin was so moist and had a really prominent and delicious pumpkin and pumpkin spice flavor to it. I ordered the croissant french toast. The french toast was good and plentiful, however i feel like the fact that it was a croissant didn't add much to the dish...it was simply a solid french toast and nothing more. The fruits on top were fresh as well. I will comment on the amazingness of their crispy af potatoes. They boil them then fry them so they are 100% always crispy, which makes them super super enjoyable. My boyfriend got the breakfast burrito with sausage and I must say that it was 100 times better than my dish. Everything about the burrito tasted fresh and delicious. It wasn't heavy at all and just completely delightful. I legit want it next time I go. We opted for a slice of pumpkin cheesecake and tiramisu to go. The pumpkin cheesecake was super rich and creamy and again, packed with pumpkin spice flavor. The tiramisu was also really light and not too sweet, and I enjoyed the lady fingers with it. Review for cheesecake only - This is absolutely, hands-down the best cheesecake I've ever had. We took it to go, so I can't speak about the ambiance at the restaurant or anything like that. However, I would take the trip back here for the cheesecake alone. For about $6 a slice, it's worth it. We tried the red velvet and New York style cheesecake. Both were really good. The New York had a thick graham cracker crust and was really rich and delicious. As for the red velvet, I can't even describe how good it was - moist, thick and rich. This is a hidden gem within Bloomfield and my new favorite place. First of all, Anthony, the owner, greeted every single person personally that walked through his door. He is a very sweet, kind, caring and compassionate man. He made us feel so welcomed. Secondly, the food there was delicious. There is a large selection on the menu. We ordered the empanadas for an appetizer. They were so delicious-the crust was cooked to perfection and the green sauce that you too it with -oh my God!! I ordered the cauliflower crusted pizza with veggies and garlic grilled shrimp. It was absolutely outstanding-I could not tell the crust was cauliflower at all. My daughter order the spicy vodka sauce with prosciutto and burrata-she loved it! My husband ordered the chicken with sausage-the chicken was crispy and so flavorful and the rest of the dish had eggplant,sausage potatoes etc.-he loved it!! The person that was working there was very pleasant and attentive and I wish I knew his name so I could give him a shoutout. It was a Thursday afternoon and the place was not very busy. The menu was stacked with delicious items but my girlfriend and I decided to share the Cinnamon Croissant French Toast (the thing that attracted us to this place) and the pulled pork with disco fries for a nice savory and sweet contrast. The French toast was great! Just think making french toast but with a croissant. It gives a nice fluffier texture that I prefer much more than classic french toast. The pulled pork disco fries were just so filling and delicious. The fries were perfect and with the pulled pork on top making it even more delicious. They are definitely a busy business, so try and call ahead for reservations. Very cozy and cute, food looks great, and you are able to BYOB (bring your own bottle, liquor store will deliver to the restaurant for free if you don't feel like walking around the corner)! The servers are very friendly but they may need to hire at least one server. Don't be afraid to speak up, they might not hear you if you are soft spoken. The chicken and waffles are GREAT! Decent little place- hearty portions and inexpensive. Came for brunch, multiple menu selections. It's a byob if you're interested in drinking. The service was ok; had to ask for certain things like water multiple times & received something I'd asked them to hold on my entree (didn't want potatoes but got them anyway). Not sure if it's a fluke but seemed like their ventilation system wasn't working well as both myself and my companion started getting watery eyes while in there and my hair/clothes still smell of grilled food hours later even after being outside for awhile. My party and I got three different varieties to go, and all of them were among the best things I've ever put in my mouth. The cheesecake has that fresh but decadent tartness I can never find anywhere outside the Northeast. My favorite was the slutty brownie, a cheesecake with a brownie bottom and chocolate/Oreos mixed into the top. But everything from the plain New York style onward is amazing. I bookmarked this place on yelp a while ago and didn't get the chance to give it a try until today for my mom's birthday. It's the cutest little breakfast/lunch spot with great coffee, baked goods, and an extensive menu that changes periodically. There's incredibly friendly waiter service, but it's the type of shop where you're welcome to refill your coffee as you please as if you were at home. The food did take a little longer to come out but it was well worth the wait (and expected for a weekend brunch). Just order a basket of their amazing and freshly made scones to hold you over. The entree portions aren't too big and definitely not too small. I got the Pork Tamale/Empanada entree of which the over easy egg that adorned it was just the right amount of runny. Wow. All I can say is WOW. As a cheesecake lover, I was immediately drawn to Anthony's based on the restaurant name. I was initially expecting to walk into a small cafe with just sweet offerings, but boy was I wrong. Upon walking in, the cafe is decorated with a lot of warm colors and it felt very cozy. We were seated and handed their menu, which changes weekly, and were surprised with the amount of dishes listed and how delicious they all sounded! We ended up ordering two dishes to share and then a cheesecake. One of the dishes was egg on pulled pork and homemade cornbread, which was so delicious and not overly sauced. The other dish was an egg hash with homemade chorizo, which was also great. The star of the show was definitely their slutty brownie cheesecake that we ordered after our entrees. The layers were great and the cheesecake was so rich and creamy. I can't wait to come back and try more of their cheesecakes! The name Anthony's Cheesecake is slightly misleading in the sense that this is actually a fully-functioning restaurant but either way we were welcomed with open arms for just tea and dessert. Given the selection, it took some time to decide but we opted for the Tres Leches cake and the Coconut Custard Pie. As far as actually cheesecakes, there was only one selection available at the time, Caramel Turtle. Tres Leches: Yes. YES. YES!!! Everyone knows that a great Tres Leches will be dripping into the plate and that's exactly the case here. Tastes and flavors are on point. Coconut Custard: It was slightly under-sweetened and tasted a little to egg-y in my opinion but was a great contrast to the overly sweet Tres Leches. I ordered the croissant french toast, with an addition of cannoli cream, strawberries and bananas, and my friend ordered it plain. They both came with a side of THE CRISPIEST MOST AMAZING ROSEMARY POTATOES EVER and an orange slice. My friend doesn't even like rosemary and she said it was perfect. I just can't even. It was amazing. I need it over and over again. There were so many delicious sounding things on the menu, and I am 10000000% going back so I can try them all. I already told my coworkers about this place, and one went the next day! We also ordered a Reese's cup cheese cake and it was to die for. Literally just walked out and I'm sincerely disappointed by my experience at this place. I've been wanting try Anthony's since we moved into the area a few weeks ago. Firstly, the place was smokey and smelled like burned garbage. It's like a 500 square foot hole-in-wall with no ventilation. Seriously? Service was terrible. Waitress brought me a coffee, took our order and never came back to our table again. My (visibly pregnant) wife ordered a bagel with cream cheese and 30 mins later she still hadn't received it. When we asked about the BAGEL & CREAM CHEESE we were told the kitchen was backed up and it would be a bit longer. Another 30 minutes and nothing ever arrived so left and went to the deli around the corner. When I went to the front pay for my coffee, and they acted like everything was fine while they avoided eye contact and took my $2.50. Wasted an hour, won't be returning, you shouldn't go either. Update: The owner replied to my review below making excuses but ultimately admitting that if you don't spend enough money he doesn't care about your business. read more

I returned and brought a party of 4 this morning and we all had different entrees: waffles with cookie butter; bacon, egg and biscuit sliders; sausage, peppers and scrambled eggs; eggs and spinach flatbread. We loved everything and cleaned our plates. Unlike a lot of restaurants that mass produce food and serve bottled junk, you can tell everything is fresh, made on the premises and prepared with quality ingredients. The waffles are soft and buttery and didn't have copious amounts of cookie butter, the biscuits were golden, eggs tender and everything was well seasoned. Service was attentive. Another amazing dinner by Anthony. We got our dinners to go, or else I would've posted pictures. Well, the food BARELY made the 5 min drive home. When we got the food home, it smelled so good that we had to just dig right in. Tonight, we both decided to get the Chicken Marsala. The portion serving of chicken was extremely generous. The Marsala had such an amazing flavor/taste, which complemented the chicken as well as the buttermilk mashed potatoes perfectly. The broccoli and other veggies on the side were an added bonus. We both couldn't eat our entire entree's, so we each have something to look forward to tomorrow. HOWEVER, we did save room for dessert. We got a slice of tiramisu and a slice of the Hostess cake. One of the best brunches I've ever had! The chicken and waffles were ridiculous. I want to die with that dish in my mouf. Blueberry casserole was a special that day. They are open for breakfast and lunch and I will try that on a future visit.
