What a hidden Gem! This is my new favorite neighborhood Italian restaurant. This place has been here as long as I can remember (15+ years). I've been here a handful of times in that time, but it had been a few years since my last visit. My husband and I came in on Friday night after work. This place was PACKED. there was one seat left open which we quickly grabbed. Between customers dining in and filling the lobby to pick up to-go orders, this place was well beyond capacity. They only have about 15-20 tables so space is limited. The waitresses were great, friendly and attentive, though a little overwhelmed with the crowd. Our waitress did a pretty decent job keeping up, though. I ordered the Gnocchi with Vodka sauce and a side Caesar salad. My husband had a regular size Veggie Stromboli with a side salad. My Caesar salad was one of the best I've ever had. It was huge, the size of an entree salad even though it was just a side. There was something on the salad, not sure if it was the fresh shaved cheese, home made croutons or the dressing, but it had a delicious earthy smokey flavor that I had never tasted before on a Caesar. In my opinion it took it to the next level making it hard to stop eating! My Gnocchi - little doughy pillows from Heaven. They were perfect density, with the creamy bright sauce and bursts of garlic. Again, so delicious it was hard to stop eating even after I was full. My husband's Regular size stromboli was huge, enough for him to take half home, which is unusual for him. I stopped in here for a few minutes yesterday to get a few slices to bring home with me. I ordered one plain and one white slice. Both were very good! I've eaten here several times, though I dined in during each previous visit. This was my first time ordering something to go. For the two slices, I believe the price was around $6.50. A little expensive, I think, but that's okay. I don't know that the slices I had stood out from many of the other pizzas I've had recently, but they still were delicious. I think I prefer a few other places' pizza, honestly. I will try to come back here again sometime soon, though I don't usually end up in this part of town all that often. From what I remember, the dine-in experiences here were very enjoyable. My father and I sat down and ate here a few times and he seemed to like it very much. Anthony's Pizza - The two slices I had yesterday. Pretty good! (Mar. 2013) - Pizza Near Me - Casselberry, Florida

I would give zero stars if it was an option. To start, ordering was ridiculous. I had to repeat the same thing 3 times and even had the girl read it back to me yet still, they managed to get our food wrong. I ordered 3 calzones, a small cheese pizza and a philly steak sub. The first calzone was suppose to be a large, have double philly meat, extra cheese, double onions, double mushrooms and double green peppers. When I ordered the girl kept saying stromboli so I calmly corrected her and told her no, we want a calzone. She says alright. She even read it back as a calzone. We get the food and it's a stromboli, without double anything so I check the ticket. The order was put in wrong judging by the ticket so I call up to let them know. Although the girl did apologize, she said that they do not make calzones like the one I had ordered so there was nothing she could do and was very dismissive of the issue, arguing that we never went over it initially when I first made the call and not taking any responsibility for the order being wrong. She began to become very short and told me unless I bring it back, there is nothing she could do. We ordered over an hour and a half before and waited which I understand the wait for take-out on Friday night but she was extremely rude and could of handled the situation better. The philly steak stromboli was awful, had absolutely no flavor and my husband would not eat it. The philly sub ended up with all the extra meat, cheese and toppings which was just suppose to have extra cheese. The small pizza was cold. The other two calzones were fine but luke warm so I'm assuming they must of came out last. We usually do not have an issue and my family orders from there quite frequently. She suggested I speak to someone named Charlie, I'm assuming the manager or owner because she didn't specify but he was apparently unavailable so I said fine, I will call back another time. My husband and I both work in the hospitality industry, myself as a FOH manager and are very understanding to the point of I NEVER post bad reviews but because she was so dismissive and rude about it, I couldn't keep quiet. Experience Brain: I wish I took more pictures of the food, but the garlic knots were as far as my Gorgeous and I got before we were overrun with the awesomeness that is their pizza! We ordered a large, half Serious Meat and half Da Brooklyn, because both looked amazing and our server assured us that we would not regret it. She seemed to be either part owner or a close relative of the owner, as she told us how she was constantly tweaking the dough recipe. In fact, her first remark to us after we were seated was that she loves her regulars, but loves getting new people as well. We arrived just before the rush, so we actually had our pick of the booths and some peace and quiet to go over the menu. One of our all-time favorites when we hit up any pizza place is a plate (or basket) of garlic knots. Our preference on this dish is that they are soft and heavy on the garlic and butter. This place does not disappoint! Chunks of real garlic, not some granulated travesty were all over our plate, floating in the pool of olive oil and butter making this a guaranteed return location for us. The calm before the storm was a very nice touch, and I highly recommend that anyone wanting a relaxing meal over a rushed food fest should get there early. I'm talking elderly early. Once the dinner rush started, every table and booth was packed! Huge good sign, right behind the comment about having diehard regulars. I regret not making a note of our server's name, because she was so kind and helpful. If I just looked in her general direction, she would come straight over to check up on us, but left us alone to enjoy our meal without interruption unless she was filling our glasses. Another bonus here is that I asked for her personal opinion, and her answer was to find out our preferences before making a suggestion. That made everything so much better. I hate gambling on food, and so I will ask for suggestions from someone who knows, because they know their product the best. Is the house specialty really what I want? Is the old number one go to my best bet? Should I avoid anything I might normally order because they may do something entirely different to it that I will hate? I'm not asking just to kill time. I want to know. Chef Brain: When the garlic knots came out, they were hot straight from the oven with fresh oil brushed over them, but the garlic that was rough chopped and added to the dish was raw. To those who enjoy only a bit of garlic, this would murder the dish entirely. Those of us who LOVE garlic are thrilled, but garlic develops far more flavor when cooked. My personal favorite is browned garlic, which is similar to fried, because it has all the usual flavor and so much more. Still, the way this place makes their knots is amazing! The only issue I had was with the marinara that came with the knots. I've had some that were sharp, oily, sweet, and even a few that I now know to be made from roasted veggies. This sauce however, just didn't have much flavor to it at all. It wasn't bad, but after the first dip I just skipped it because there wasn't any flavor there. As we finished the plate, the only thing still there was the sauce. When our pizza came out, I was happy to see that they placed the toppings, rather than threw them on the pizza. There are few things as disappointing with ordering a pizza than requesting half one style and half another but getting one or two slices that are both styles because the cook was lazy. We were directed to order a large half Serious Meat (Pepperoni, Italian Sausage, Meatballs, Ham and Bacon) and half Da Brooklyn (Think Margherita but with sauce; Tomatoes, Chopped Basil, and fresh Mozzarella). I love a good old fashioned Margherita if it's done right, and my Caramel and I are carnivores so the meat lover's option is always popular with us. As I said, the toppings were placed on their half of the pizza, and there was a definite line between the two styles. The slices were definitely foldable, and I found that was the only way to get it from the plate to my mouth without breaking out the fork and knife. No cheese melts or makes a pizza better than fresh mozz. When you have a string of cheese from your mouth to the plate that requires pinching to break because it will only continue to stretch, you know you've got the good stuff. Both styles are packed with all the flavors that make us all think of the best Italian food, and from the crust up I can honestly say this is one impressive pizza. We wanted to get some desserts, but the garlic knots and pizza were just too much for the two of us, and we will not bring a dessert home unless we've had it the way it was intended to be first. read more

After a hard day of traveling from Miami to Orlando to handle some personal matters, this place saved my day. First of all, don't expect a fancy entrance or anything that makes this restaurant to "pop". It is located inside a shopping center next to Publix. We walked in hoping for a "ok" dinner because we were too tired to try to find another place. Not only my dinner was delicious, but I was happily surprised with the service and their variety of items jn the menu. We ordered fried calamari (it comes w two different sauces and both are pretty good) and a medium pizza (we were able to change get it in thin crust). Our server was super friendly, knowledgeable, and provided us a great service (my glass of water was never empty thank you) I wish I could remember her name. In sum, check this place out! read more

This has always been a place to go for pizza since my childhood. Family always used to come here but it seems to me well up until today. I called in to order a calzone for my pregnant wife. When I arrived I came in and wasn't greeted like I normally would be. When I said I was here to pick up an order and provided my name. The blonde lady at the cashier said it's no where near done and looked at the younger Hispanic cook and he yell yeah it'll be 7 min. And they began to yell back and forth about the time. Finally the cashier Looks at me and said well "well I guess he always has to have the last word" assuming they were messing around I waited for my order and the cook began to vent about his hours and dropping the f bomb every other word and complaining about getting physical with his boss. I was very disappointed and taken back by this because I was standing right next to him and he looked at me several times. He then through my pizza in the box and gave it to me. I said thank you and no reply. This is very heartbreaking to see a family oriented place high people that don't care who is around them or How the company looks. Been goin there for 10+ years as I love their Stromboli. Always get it without sausage as I don't like pork. Today they decided to only put pepperoni ham and sausage in my Stromboli maybe they thought I was Muslim or something but I will never step foot in there or order from them again. Used to go there all the time, and loved it. We just had dinner there and it was terrible. The pizza was nothing like the ones we used to order weekly. Chicken wings were served in a puddle of sauce. Went for lunch with my daughter and it was a disaster. The waitress was having a full-blown conversation with a customer about a mutual friend and it was inappropriate the things they were talking about. She wasn't even trying to whisper she was talking so loud that my nine-year-old daughter was looking at me like the lady was crazy. This place at one time was hands down my favorite place to get pizza. Even visiting New York, LA, Vegas, midwest, nothing topped it... But now, it's just average. I never liked the fact that all the food that is served is placed on the public front counter open to the world. So..if you're paying for your meal or you want to order something it's weird to have someone else's food sitting there. Do you reach over? How many people have placed their filthy hands on there? Anothony's NY Pizza is located off 17/92 in the Publix plaza by Button Rd in Casselberry. My Yelp app guided me here, since I was looking for a good place to grab a takeout pizza while in the area. Yelpers, you did not disappoint! I was able to get the order placed and pick it up quickly, even during the primetime dinner hour. Staff was very nice and the order was confirmed, which was nice on a 1/2 and 1/2 topping pizza. The place was slammed and the phone was ringing off the hook when I arrived for pick up. Check out was prompt and friendly; and I was on my way home quickly. The large pizza crust was crisp and not soggy, sauce was good and cheese was plentiful without ordering "Extra", cheese was a bit salty which we both enjoyed. Toppings were tasty and proportional to the size of the pizza, good balance. We would order here again in heartbeat! read more

I'm certain that its NOT connected to the Anthonys Pizza Cafe chain. I think this is one of the best pizza joints around central Florida. I really like it, but I'm not from New York, and I've never been to Jersey, so what do I know? Fuggedaboudit. Super nice people, great service, and everyone who works there seems to have a New York accent and name that ends in a vowel. Lots of cops (and other people) eat here, if that's any indication of quality. This place stays pretty busy all the time. Seriously, they have some really really good pie and pasta here. I like the thin crust pizza with fresh tomato and spinach. My club has been visiting Anthony's every month for years, and like so many other people, we keep coming back for a reason. I have a weird relationship with Anthony's, in that its a real love-hate kind of thing. I love their single slices to go, they slices are larger, thinner and just overall, yummier. I could seriously keep eating these suckers (sadly, I have eaten almost 5 slices in a row, did I mention I'm the size of a large child?) I hate sit down pie ordering and this is why -- the pizza I have in my mind is the same texture as their single to go slice, but what appears never fits the bill. What gives? Well, its because the single slices are from either their large or x-large pies. Something the smaller pizzas (small/medium) has to do with they the dough, it just never hits the right notes, its almost thicker, reminiscent of generic pre made pizza. So the solution, order the larger pizzas or order a to-go slice. You cant go wrong. But this is my go to place for pizza since I could walk here and the wait for a slice is never long. Overall this place has one hell of a menu, quite large and this place is ALWAYS busy, sometimes you get the rogue team sports groups (all together, aww... to be young and eating pizza with you team!). FYI... they actually moved about a year ago into a larger space, so obviously business is good here. Tip if you want to sit down and eat, go past the normal dinner times (after 730pm) and you should be able to get a table really quick, unless you're doing this on a Friday/Saturday... then wait until after 8. read more

When I walked in the first thing I noticed was a slightly dirty smell. As if the rug at the entrance hadn't been cleaned. I walk up to the counter and wait about 10 seconds before I was recognized. I was greeted with a, "be right with you." She wasn't busy, wasn't on the phone and there was only two tables and the whole restaurant. I suggested that the word "hi" goes a long way, and that she should greet her customers. I was given a little bit of a stink eye and a smirk in return, and still no hello. I only got a single slice to go, and the cook handed it to me. I said thank you. He said nothing. I said thank you again. I know he heard me, he said nothing. Though I've just come around to reviewing Anthony's pizza in 2015, I have been ordering pizza, pasta, and subs from this establishment for many many years while living in Castleberry. prices are always fair, food is always delicious, service is always friendly. in terms of pizza, I would argue that it remains one of the better establishments in the area. Whether dining in or ordering out, the food is always freshly prepared and consistent. In terms of pizza, you can order by the slice or various size pies. Pastas include all the typical italian dishes.. Baked ziti, shells, ect. Each comes served in a large portion. They have several hot and cold subs, and I would recommend the meatball if you are choosing this avenue. There is some beer and wine, though I wish they would upgrade from bud light and peroni. Seating is plentiful, although you can expect short waits on Friday and Saturday nights. Highly highly recommend visiting in anthonys for pizza and italian. It's is a family owned establishment that has been around for a longtime, a true testament to its quality and customer service. read more

Maybe if you have a cashier greeting customers and asking them what they want, you should let them know they won't be allowed to dine in after purchasing food. Pizza was good as well, not anything special. The calzone had way too much ricotta cheese for my taste but it was still good. The greek salad was awful in my taste. My husband and I tried Anthony's on the recommendation of a friend. We were NOT disappointed! Coming from the NE, we really have been missing good pizza. And, while we have a couple of excellent Italian restaurants here in Lake Mary that serve good pizza, it wasn't quite the same as what we had gotten used to in the NE. And then we tried Anthony's. Our server was Jennifer and she took excellent care of us. To start, I ordered the Caesar side salad. It was fantastic! The lettuce was crisp and fresh. The parmesan shavings were well-distributed on the salad and the homemade croutons were outta sight! The dressing was perfect: cold, full of flavor, and perfectly creamy. An excellent start to the meal. I had a small pizza with eggplant and meatballs. My husband had a small Anthony's Special. The crust was perfectly crisp and browned. The toppings were flavorful and fresh. The cheese and the sauce were excellent. We both had plenty of leftovers to bring home for lunch the following day and they were just as good the second time around. I think we have found our go-to spot when we need a good pizza fix. On the way out, we were stopped by another customer who has been eating at Anthony's for 35 years. He wanted to make sure we loved it as much as he did. The calamari was the best we've had too, crispy, tender, light, with two sauces and lemon. Well be back! Had a pretty bad experience coming here with my mom. Service was terrible, wasn't greeted when I walked in to start, had to get the girl at the counter's attention because she was looking at her phone (YIKES) and then she told me to seat myself. EVERY table was filthy despite the restaurant not being close to full. Sigh. I proceeded to sit at a dirty table because there was no choice, and waited 10 minutes for someone to come at least bring waters. Server was extremely inattentive, I asked twice for a cup of ranch with my pizza and never got it. Didn't get a refill of water at all with my empty cup. The pizza is tasty but dripping in grease, same goes for the calamari. The plate was dressed with some sopping romaine lettuce. Didn't make any sense and that part was unappetizing. I wanted to try Anthony's for the first time and I ordered a Carbonara Pasta over the phone. I went pick it up and when I opened it, it was instant disappointment. Pasta Carbonara is supposed to have a creamy sauce, Cheese and wait for it....... BACON. My pasta not only had no bacon at all, but also had so much onions. So literally, White and Red Onions with a little bit of Fettuccini. Personally, I won't order anything from this place anymore. Very disappointed. read more

First off I would like to start off by saying that I created an account just so I could write a review on how badly the customer service was tonight. I go to the aviation college next door and frequently come on my dinner break (which is strictly enforced by time) so I specifically called to place and order so that it would be ready when we got there. My classmate and I wanted to sit down and enjoy a few beers with our pizza however were so rudely told to leave because we placed it to go and it was already boxed up, we asked for plates and drinks however the old hag who waits on the tables told us we're weren't allowed to sit even though we wanted to stay and have drinks and eat the pizza we already paid for, if this is how you treat your paying customers when your dining room is empty on a Friday night at 8:30pm, I'll be sure to let my classmates know just how unprofessional the staff is... read more
