I was surprised by Antidote food and interior wise. The restaurant is so spacious. The design is sleek and cool... the area with all the plants, probably my favorite part of the entire restaurant. I just love the vibes that plants bring into a room. All the staff working that day were pleasant and quick to respond to our needs. It was slow that day but I still appreciate the attentiveness I was given. I've been to spots before where it was a slow day but the service was slow too. lol. Happy that wasn't the case here. The food, while on the pricier side, was delicious. I enjoyed the cucumber salad alongside the tea smoked duck shu mai. The tea smoked duck was packed with flavors. I can't even identify all of the flavors it was giving but whatever it is... it was explosive and amazing. I wanted to like the hargow shrimp but the shrimp tasted too fishy for me. I don't know what happened there but I guess I was looking for a more light flavor with hints of garlic and ginger. And the spicy cumin lamb was spiced to perfection... I believe there was mala in it. The peppers looked similar to another dish I've had that was filled with mala peppers. Either way, it was definitely spiced up and only spicy food lovers should indulge in that. Despite it being on the pricier side, I think this spot is worth the try! I forgot to snap pics of the happy hour drinks but there were a lot of great cocktails on that menu. Wow, now I understand the buzz around Antidote. It's a very popular spot for hangouts, dates, and dinner. I had a really great experience here. Service was quick and fast! We dined during Lunar New Year and they had a special LNY menu for food and drinks. We ordered one round of drinks - I enjoyed my drink. I had the starry night. It seemed like they also had some unique ones as well. Great pairing with their food but also it came after we were served so we focused on eating rather than enjoying our cocktail at first. We ordered the XO noodles and the Truffle Fried rice from this menu. Additionally we had the Dong po, sautéed green beans and the shredded beef buns (I forgot the name). Their menu has really specially curated twists on classic Chinese dishes. They all looked fascinating to try. I personally loved the XO noodles and truffle fried rice! I was surprised they had a really good amount of shrimp in the noodles and the fried rice was a nice umami flavor that really cut through the dong po's layer of fat. Not my personal favorite, but the dong po was very tender and soft. It just had too much fat to my liking. The green beans were a great addition as a veggie dish. The shredded beef or pork buns wasn't memorable enough, I would skip this dish to try something different. We ended the nice with egg lava buns! As for food, we mostly ordered from their 2026 Lunar New Year menu, which was delicious, but nothing special past what you would find at a Chinese banquet styled dinner. If you've never been to a Chinese banquet dinner before, Antidote may be a more approachable restaurant to start with, but you can find these flavors virtually at any Chinese restaurant. Very solid spot for elevated Chinese food! I was surprisingly impressed by Antidote, I usually feel like mid-range priced Chinese food rarely lives up to the hype and would prefer to eat at a classic 3.5 star Chinese place, but the flavors were super on point. My friend and I only got two dishes: the sliced pork belly with garlic chili sauce (appetizer) and the soft crab tofu (entree). The housemade chili oil was nice and spicy, and the crab roe was nice and flavorful. I especially liked the cucumber wrapped around the pork belly, it reminded me of Szechuan Mountain House's Swing Pork Belly dish, but better. The portion sizes were pretty big too. I've been keen to come by Antidote for ages and recently had the chance to have dinner here with some friends! We had a reservation for 6:30 on a Friday - it was packed already, and continued to be busy the whole time we were there (so definitely make a reservation). We ordered a bunch of delicious dishes to share - some highlights: - We had the sichuan cold noodle and the dandan noodle, which were... surprisingly similar? The dandan noodle had minced pork but otherwise the peanut sauce and spicyness basically had the same flavour profile (which was probably on us not paying attention haha) - Sautéd string beans were delicious - the texture was wonderful (not overcooked too soggyness without being too hard or hard to chew), and the garlic flavour wasn't overpowering but added a nice depth to the beans themselves. - Sichuan chilli fried chicken was probably my favourite dish -- it wasn't crazily spicy by any means, but definitely had a healthy kick to it, and the chicken was so tender and juicy, and fried to a nice crisp without being too oily. - Dongpo pork was another standout - my only objection was that the ratio of fatty meat to lean meat was too high (felt a little too oily/rich), but otherwise delicious. - We also had the 'steam whole fish' which was much more meh. The fish itself was fine (tilapia tasted fresh, meat was tender and fell apart easily), but the overall flavour just felt a little bland. Ginger/scallion/soy sauce is such a classic sauce for steamed fish and its simplicity usually lets the natural flavours of the fish come through, but I fear this dish felt a bit flat overall. Other than the food, experience was generally lovely. Service was quick and attentive, and while the noise level was definitely higher than I expected/liked, it was still tolerable to just slightly yell to have a convo hehe. Price point was a little high, but nothing too crazy (and probably expected for this kind of Chinese restaurant) I'd love to come back to try some of their other dishes on their (fairly large!) menu - already looking forward to next time! read more

Honestly a very affordable yet delicious spot! For 5 people, we ordered 5 dishes along with 2 bowls of rice. Everything was fantastic, but I would highly recommend the sweet and sour chicken! The cumin lamb was also fantastic. Unfortunately we were not able to try the famous spicy chicken because some of us can't handle spice, but the next time I dine here, I will for sure try it! We had pork potstickers and soup dumplings as starters. Antidote is one of my favorite restaurants. I think it lives up to the hype. I haven't been wow'ed by food in a while, but Antidote was up there for me. My favorite dish was the crab tofu. I grew up eating salted egg and it reminded me a lot of childhood. Everything is so flavorful and perfectly cooked. The Dongpo pork was so tender, it basically melted in my mouth.
