So blessed to have a friend in Williamsburg. When visiting we stay at his place for a few of the nights and there's something about Williamsburg that makes us stay when we have plans elsewhere. We wanted to go to a dumpling place in Chinatown, but we're running late and decided to cancel. Cute spot to try some authentic Szechuan meals. Honestly I'm a wimp with spicy food and so my friend and I kept it mild. The inside was clean and had a rusting but modern look. Firstly, The housemade lime ice tea we got was refreshing on a hot day today and juicy but not too sugary. I tried the scallion pancakes which are my favorite appetizer snack but it was a little bland and not was crispy as I'd like it. We ordered the fried eggplant accordion which was tender on the inside with a crisp exterior. I don't think I was a fan of the sweet-sour sauce though (just my preference) as it seemed sweeter than I'd like. Service was prompt enough. Plenty of seating but busy and popular nonetheless. What a terrific find in Brooklyn after doing some shopping at a local runners store nearby. Its a Chinese restaurant in Williamsburg that we dined in after shopping close by. It was packed but the hostess found us a few seats at the large communal table set in the middle by the main entrance. I was particularly fond of the wontons, cold noodles and the Szechuan dishes. Unfortunately, the service was very inattentive. This is my 2nd time here I very much enjoyed it both times. The hargow was pretty standard nothing special, but the string beans were extremely refreshening and light. I'm personally a huge fan of duck and this did not disappoint the flavor of the duck was so potent and I felt like the duck wasn't too dry or too tender. The bartender recommended some tea I wish I caught the name, but it was extremely delicious. I would say this place is more of a homey vibe where you would go with a larger party. Starting off with the negatives, they forgot my lime iced tea. The back area sorta sucks because they open the back door from time to time for delivery guys and it gets frickin cold.
