Cute spot to try some authentic Szechuan meals. Honestly I'm a wimp with spicy food and so my friend and I kept it mild. The inside was clean and had a rusting but modern look. Firstly, The housemade lime ice tea we got was refreshing on a hot day today and juicy but not too sugary. I tried the scallion pancakes which are my favorite appetizer snack but it was a little bland and not was crispy as I'd like it. We ordered the fried eggplant accordion which was tender on the inside with a crisp exterior. I don't think I was a fan of the sweet-sour sauce though (just my preference) as it seemed sweeter than I'd like. Service was prompt enough. Plenty of seating but busy and popular nonetheless. I'd try it again and if I wasn't a wimp with spicy food I'm sure heat-adventurers would enjoy this! My FAVORITE was the Dan Dan noodles. I highly recommend this one. Can't go wrong. The sauce blended evenly with the thin noodles. It was less "greasy" than previous Dan Dan noodles I've had elsewhere.

Mapo tofu was yummy. The lunch portion was pretty big and definitely enough for one. Also love how they serve the lunch prices till 4:30 on week days even Friday. They were super careful about allergies which was appreciated. My friend really liked the tofu pudding and eggplant accordions.

This was our first time here- we thought for sure we would have to wait ( went in on a Saturday afternoon) and we sat right away! The dumplings and the Dan Dan noodles were easily the best I have ever had- you can't go wrong with ordering those. The chicken was very spicy but that was to be expected- and the flavor was glorious. After reading previous reviews I was expecting this place to be overrated - I was wrong. You SHOULD come here the food is absolutely amazing I can't wait to come back

So cool and vibey inside. Glad we made a reservation because there were no open tables, even though it was a weeknight! I had the Nightingale to start with the soup dumplings and shrimp dumplings. The soup dumplings were good, but the shrimp ones were my favorite. Every bite was delicious! The green beans were outstanding, as well. We ordered the perfect amount of food and left to go stroll around Brooklyn on a gorgeous night, satisfied without being uncomfortably full.

I was thoroughly disappointed in this place as I had wanted to come for a long time. Service was great, staff was attentive, place was nice, but the food was lacking. I ordered a classic Dan Dan noodle, but it was not very flavorful and quite bland. I had been looking forward to coming here due to their gorgeous menu options and specialty cocktails, but the food was just ok. Perhaps I ordered wrong or whatever, but I have been to numerous Szechuan places that had much more flavor.

SPICY! BRIGHT! FUN! I can't name much more that I love than some szechuan and a fun restaurant. A seat at the bar was in store for as I solo dined. I got some potstickers and crispy crab. Also, a nice amaro highball to satiate the palate. Service was great. As a solo diner in a bar seat I always appreciate a bit of extra attention and conversation. They were training a new bartender and it was a pleasure to watch their attention to detail. None of the dishes were too spicy. You got the great szechuan numbing sensation and flavor without crying. Each bite is a flavor bomb and the menu is loaded with great options. Vibey, fun space. Perfect for community, dates, and everything in between

I came here for my mom's birthday for lunch and the food was delicious. The ambience of the restaurant was super modern and stylish and service was great. We ordered: -Husband and wife special: 4/5 very solid with good flavor and a nice balance of spice and savoriness. The beef and tripe were perfectly sliced thin. -Sichuan cold noodles: 3/5 decent but compared to other dishes, this spelt a bit more standard and less memorable. -Fried fish fillet: 5/5 one of my favorite dishes of the night. The fish fillet was crispy while still soft and tender on the inside and super flavorful. -Shredded duck fried rice: 3/5 good and fragrant, but didn't seem to stand out. In my opinion. It just tasted like standard fried rice with duck in it. -Cumin lamb: 5/5 another favorite dish of mine. This was some of the most tender lamb. I've had and it didn't taste gamey at all. Super automatic and packed with flavor. -Softshell Crab: 5/5 this was fantastic. It was crispy, juicy and seasoned just right. -Pea shoots: 4/5 standard piece shoots, can't go wrong with this dish. Overall, this was some of the best Sichuan food I've had in NYC. They also brought out a special dessert for my mom for her birthday, which was super nice. I would definitely come back here again.

What a terrific find in Brooklyn after doing some shopping at a local runners store nearby. Its a Chinese restaurant in Williamsburg that we dined in after shopping close by. It was packed but the hostess found us a few seats at the large communal table set in the middle by the main entrance. Authentic Szechuan food - appetizers, entrees, rice options, desserts, and a variety of cocktails. The decor is well thought out which make a nice ambiance for a dining experience. Attentive staff and even though it was very busy our food arrived within a reasonable amount of time. Prices were not all that cheap but we expected to pay a bit more for well prepared plates such as these.

I really enjoy this place. Very good high upscale spot! The service is good and overall good ambiance. there's a lot of seats and more in the back. Overall the food is amazing and would come here again. Great for dates or a group of friends

Birds of a Feather was bomb!! Came on a cold winter afternoon during peak shopping time. It was busy but we had a reservation and were seated quickly. Service was quick and food was timely too. Everything was yummy and the atmosphere was cool. A little pricier, but definitely a great lunch spot that I'd go to if I was in the area often.

Such a delicious meal! I got the house soy milk, which is something I grew up drinking. It was so delicious, and definitely hit the spot. Every single dish we ordered was so yummy. The XLB was juicy, the dan dan noodles were chewy and flavorful, the chili wontons were perfectly spicy, the green beans were seasoned so well, and the mapo tofu left us sweating in the best way. It was such a delicious and filling meal for the three of us, and we had the best time. The interior is also so cute. I love the industrial vibe. I also love the long table in the middle of the restaurant. It makes the restaurant feeling really communal and family-like. Will definitely be making my way back soon.

Honestly really good food. I got the chicken and morel soup and was happy to see they didn't skimp at all on the mushrooms. The dumplings in spicy chili oil were also awesome. The Dan Dan noodles were great but my girlfriend ordered them with no spice so... didn't get the full experience but they were still good. Service was solid. The vibe inside is pretty casual but nice. I'd definitely return.

Lots of grey food with good flavor. The Szechuan cold noodles and Kung pai chicken dishes are delicious and definitely my favorite. Every dish and cocktail were good, even the veggies for those of you excited for that. Service was better in the beginning but by no means bad. The lack of A/C to combat the heatwave was brutal. Nice place overall and worth a visit for sure.

I next just got a regular lychee martini, which was much less sweet & a perfect drink #2 - we started with the pork dumplings which had such a complex sauce. it looked like a basic chili oil but there was a tangy vinegar and a sweet aftertaste that balanced out the numbing spice. the dough was so chewy & thick, I loved. - the cold eggplant was very garlic forward & naturally ofc coated in spice. it's a large serving of the same vegetable but we ate every piece - we split the tofu & fish entree. this was insane, the same base and consistency as mapo tofu. incredibly rich and flavorful with light large chunks of silken tofu & battered fried soft fish. the fish absorbed so much of the sauce, which honestly I was eating by the spoonful.

Though I was surprised that the vibe of the restaurant itself seemed very curated in a way that's emblematic of the the way in which Williamsburg more broadly continues to move towards this clean/green/minimalistic aesthetic (which is enjoyable but uniform), it was still a great time filled with fun cocktails a nice variety of food. We came here at 8:30 on a Saturday night. Though it was relatively easy to book a reservation for a part of four here, it was pretty full and lively when we arrived. The space itself is quite big, with an expansive dining room full of big tables for larger parties. As I mentioned, the decor had the whole clean/green vibe that retail and restaurants alike are leaning into these days, though interestingly on the perimeter there were some fun little antique items like very old wooden furniture or saloon-esque pianos. As a party of four we were sat at a round table in one of these perimeter spaces which gave us a nice vantage point. I had heard that the cocktails here were not to be missed and I can see why. They're creative, thoughtful, and organized on the menu such that you can get a sense of the flavor profile before ordering (relative sweetness/sourness/strength) before ordering. I started with the Truemartini (Truman Vodka, Gin, Osmanthus, Fontbonne, Rockeys, Dry Vermouth, Blue Cheese Olive) which I absolutely loved. I suppose it gives dirty martini because of the blue cheese olive but it's far more complex and herbaceous than your typical martini so it's honestly in its own category. I then got the Hanami Drop (Citadelle Gin, Ovo Vodka, Jasmine, Rockey's Umeshu, Lime) which was good but because I wasn't really in the mood for a gimlet it did not hit in the way I had hoped but that is ultimately my fault and not theirs. Food-wise, there is a lot to choose from, which makes deliberation quite difficult. At least from what we ordered, it seems that the apps are smallest, the veggie/rice sides are in the middle, and not surprisingly the entrees are quite a bit bigger (and filling). Eats, below: Wood Ear Mushroom Salad (Poached and mixed with chili and lemon sauce): A Far and away the best veggie we got. The texture was perfection and the preparation itself was relatively simple in a way that really let the mushrooms sing. Cucumber Salad (Tossed in scallion & ginger sauce, sesame oil): B+ Really nice flavors, just felt the texture was very very slightly bordering on slimy (I think it was because of the way the sauce interacted with the natural wateriness of the cucumber) which I hesitate to say because I don't it to fully turn anyone off but I can't think of a more fitting way to describe it. Kung Pao Chicken (Peanuts, chili pepper and peppercorn): A Savory and delicious, didn't have all that much of this because the prawns really drew me in but this is a no-brainer and a crowd pleasure. Tea Smoked Duck (Bone-in smoked duck, hoisin sauce): A- Solid execution, nothing too memorable but still very good and a decent portion. Fei - Hong Spicy Prawn (Tiger Prawn, crispy pepper, peanut): A As I mentioned, this dish had my heart. Something about the combination of the prawn, sauce, and crispy pepper just made it feel like a texture and spice party that I absolutely loved. Glazed Eggplant: B+ Flavors were there, would've liked if there was a little more crispiness. It's a sizable portion -- significantly bigger than the cucumber and mushrooms salads (which are in the apps rather than the sides section) so keep that in mind when ordering.
