We were driving from downtown towards Northwestern U and found this local Italian restaurant on our way. The place is small and quaint. We had no issues with parking and no wait. Absolute hole in the wall place with delicious food. My top recommendation is the garlic bread on focaccia bread and it's unlike any garlic bread I have ever had. It was light flaky and the perfect garlic taste that made my mouth water. The calamari had the perfect amount of coating and I hate when's it's either too thick or too thin where it falls apart. This place is known for the cone pasta but I had just the regular plate because it was easier to eat out of. If you're in the area I definitely recommend and try it out lmk how you like it! Very basic, cozy hole in the wall near the red line. It's nothing fancy, but the food speaks for itself. The pasta was excellent, and while the cone was a fun novelty for three minutes, I missed my plate. I'd just get the plate. The Caesar was nice as well, but we had asked to split it and they charged $1 to do so. This is one of the first places I've noticed do this, so if you plan to go halfsies on a salad, I'd just order it and separate it yourself. I went with my family to try the viral pasta in a cone. Even the fries came in a cone. But, the pizza was still served on a tray. The food was surprisingly good. The cones actually keep the pasta very hot. It's fun to eat out of the cone but if you want to dive in rather than wait for your food to cool down, would recommend just getting your pasta on a plate. Attention all Roger's Parkers: You have the worst restaurant I've been to in thirty years in your midst. I had a pizza with crust worse than Pizza Hut, and sparse sausage only at this shady little establishment . The charming, genial olwner took my order and served me very slowly. When he finally bought the check he changed me $50.00 for his crumm littley pizza and $6.00 for two Cokes. He cleaned out my wallet with that and said I should come back to pay him the .50 cents I still owed. I'd rather starve to death than go back there. read more

This place had been on my list to try and I finally made the trek up. One thing I would say is that having the pasta or pizza in the cone is nice to try but I definitely preferred having them on a plate. The table next to use go once a week and always get the plate. It's definitely to try since that's what has been advertised but just a warning that the cones are alright. The staff were all very nice, especially since it's a small restaurant inside. We wanted to try a couple pastas since we were feeling some warm noodles. We started off with some fries and the soup of the day which was Minestrone. Both were delicious and reasonably priced. For the pasta, we decided on the squid ink and the lemon linguine. I enjoyed how there was a lot of shrimp in the pasta. They did not skimp out on it. Personally, I loved the lemon flavor was very present in the shrimp. For the squid ink pasta, I felt that the noodles were a little dry and hard to chew. Went on a Friday evening walked in and they had seating available indoors and outdoor. We sat inside not a big location but spacious enough. I went with my wife and 2 daughters and they were very accommodating. We ordered a cheese pizza and a few different pasta cones and truffle fries. I got Angel hair pasta in a cone and it was good I enjoyed it. The smallest pizza they offer is a 12 inch so my daughter wasn't going to eat all of it so I had a few slices. Excellent. Hands down one of the best spots I been for awhile for pasta and it's in Rogers Park! You would not think to find a gem in the middle of nowhere that's serving up authentic Italian but we decided to give it a go and boy did they knock my socks off. I ordered the lemon linguini with shrimp and it was amazing! I have dreams about it. Creamy, sweet shrimp cooked to perfection, lemony and just everything you want in a creamy pasta like this. Also the pasta is handmade which makes it even more special. My friend got the pistachio ravioli and while it was delicious and presentation was amazing, it was not plentiful nor special enough to order. She ended up getting some of mine because they gave a good amount. Also, order their calamari! It's fresh, crunchy, tender and seasoned to perfection. They serve you homemade marinara with it but I think cocktail sauce would be nice with this. To end the evening, we ordered the cannolis and tiramisu. Cannolis were very small and just not worth the price. Skip that. Tiramisu was pretty tasty and easy enough to share. It's BYOB! So bring your own wine and just enjoy! One note for the restaurant, is for the outside area, just make sure the dishes are cleared and it's clean since people are eating out there. It's not pleasant to see dirty dishes and rags stacked near where you are eating. I would totally go back again and maybe eat inside. read more

I dined at Anto Pizza & Pasta on July 15, 2024 at 7 pm. Finding parking was such a struggle, so I had to park a block away and walked over. Despite the struggle, it was worth it because I really wanted to try this pasta in a cone. Even if it may be a gimmick, I thought it was a fun way to eat this delicious pasta. I had the lemon linguine with shrimp. I always prefer a cream-based pasta over a tomato based pasta dish. With this in mind, I wholeheartedly enjoyed this pasta dish for its lemony essence that cut the richness of the sauce. The shrimps were cooked perfectly. The pasta of course was cooked perfectly al dente. Also this pasta was served very HOT, which is not like any pasta dish I've had before. The service was excellent. We sat on the patio which has great ambiance, it's right next to the train station which makes it super accessible and the noise isn't a bother when the food is as good as it is. I picked up an order from here recently of the garlic bread and Margherita pizza. I got the text and call for the order being ready 20 mins after the time I ordered it for. I picked up within few minutes, the place is a bit small and was empty when I went. The garlic bread tasted cold and plain, even with the sauce, it felt like eating plain bread with some garlic oil on top rather than the focaccia. Probably will not get it again. The Margherita pizza was also ok, the cheese combination gives it a little bit of sour taste. I don't think I would crave it again. I had high expectations for this place for all the reviews I hear so may try again in the future to see if it gets better. read more

My husband and I heard about this spot from a TikTok and decided to give it a try. Immediately, you are welcomed as if it is a family friend's home. The owner is friendly and kept checking to see if everything was to our liking. I had the Fettuccine Alfredo while my husband had the Spaghetti Carbonara. My friend & I decided to grab lunch here after seeing their pasta cones on tiktok & the place didn't disappoint!! The place is very small with only one server & a handful of tables. There were only two tables of people besides us so the service was pretty quick. We each ordered a pasta in a cone & a pizza to share; I got the carbonara & she got the tortellini in vodka sauce. The pizza to share was the roasted potato pizza since it caught the most attention from us, we've never seen a potato pizza at an Italian restaurant before! My friends and I came here recently and although the food was very good, it didn't agree with any of us who got pasta (and we ALL got different types). If I ever come back, I'd try the pizza because those look much better than the pastas do. Let's start from the beginning. We walked in and I thought it was going to be much larger than it was, but the restaurant inside was small and dark. The walls are all wood and has hanging lights, which gives a cute ambiance, but I wish there was more room or someone waiting outside to seat you so you don't have to go inside. We came at the right time because it got SO busy right after we got a seat on their outside patio. People were waiting in lines outside the restaurant and many people left because the wait got up to almost 2 hours. The patio was cute and had hanging lights over it, and dogs were allowed in the patio area so we saw some cute ones. Our waiter was very nice and he got our table a water carafe because there was 4 of us and we finished our waters in 5 seconds since they give you water in small plastic cups. If BYOB is your thing, they have that option and many people around us brought wine. We first ordered the Italian fries. We were all starving, so we got two orders, and they were fine, but were dry and just had cheese and seasoning on them. They were nothing special and thank God they came with sauce on the side because it added some taste to the dryness. Then, we ordered our pastas, and we each ordered a different type in a pasta cone. I ordered the pasta carbonara, one of my friends ordered an Alfredo with shrimp, my other friend ordered an Alfredo with no shrimp, and then our other friend just ordered an arugula salad. We waited a long time for our pastas. We kept seeing everyone else getting their food and we just kept waiting. When ours finally came, I noticed it was literally pasta floating in a cone of sauce. SO MUCH SAUCE. TOO MUCH SAUCE. You can see in my attached pics that it looked like I was eating soup. We also quickly learned how overrated it is to get pasta in a cone. The cone stand was so high that I had to sit up straight while sitting on my leg to actually reach the top of the cone so I wouldn't get the pool of sauce everywhere. The pasta was long and since it was so wet from the sauce, you couldn't really twirl it on your fork and easily eat it because the sauce would splatter everywhere. Not going to lie, my pasta was very good when I was eating it. It was full of flavor and had the creamiest sauce I ever tasted. My friends all seemed to like theirs too, but my one friend said her shrimp was not the best and tasted very soft and too fishy. Our friend who ordered the salad loved it. Once we all finished, my one friend ordered a canoli. They have canolis with Nutella or cream, and she ordered the Nutella one. My other friend ordered the Tiramisu and loved it. Fast forward to after we paid and left, 10 minutes into going about our night, me and all of my friends who ordered pasta had the most upset stomachs and all gotten sick from something we ate. I truly think it's all of the sauce they cook the pasta in because the pasta literally drowned in it. Overall , this place is super overrated in my opinion, and if I ever decided to try it again, I would order the pasta in a bowl since you can choose. I know this place has been on Tik Tok and IG, so try at your own risk and don't be fooled by simple pasta in a cone LOL. It also seems to be a bit inconsistent with amounts of sauce you get because looking at other people's pics on here, the pasta looks normal and not soupy, so just pray you come on a good day I guess. read more

My group of friends and I arrive with a birthday cake and not only did they offer to put it in the fridge for us but after dinner they brought the cake with a lit candle and plates for everyone. Confession time: I've had Anto's bookmarked forever. I love pizza, I love pasta, but I work too much & rarely get out to dine in. Father's Day was good time to finally give this place a try. It's a cozy place with outdoor seating as well. Many offerings on the menu but we opted for the calamari, salmon & spinach with a side of pasta (made special - thank you for being accommodating!), & spaghetti with seafood. Calamari was cooked to perfection. Tender bites with a light breading, not greasy but truly delicious. Lemon & marinara accent this app wonderfully. The pastas arrived & WOW. I don't think I've ever had seafood & pasta this delicious. The noodles were god-tier. I also appreciated the small plate to hold the shells. I heard the broiled salmon & pasta was perfection. Wandering around Rogers Park, we got a craving for pasta and found Anto's, where they serve pasta in paper cones. Regardless of presentation, it just plain tastes GREAT! We started with the Arugula Salad with oranges, dates, walnuts and goat cheese - fresh, bright and lively! Then we got the Squid Ink Pasta with Shrimp - deep and dark, plump briny shrimp in a slightly spicy red sauce over soft, tender pasta. And the Lemon Linguine, which is an alfredo sauce with a taste of lemon over plump shrimp and spaghetti pasta. So delicious and so filling!
