Very basic, cozy hole in the wall near the red line. It's nothing fancy, but the food speaks for itself. The pasta was excellent, and while the cone was a fun novelty for three minutes, I missed my plate. I'd just get the plate. The Caesar was nice as well, but we had asked to split it and they charged $1 to do so. This is one of the first places I've noticed do this, so if you plan to go halfsies on a salad, I'd just order it and separate it yourself. Or just fight over it with your forks- that's probably more fun.

Small place, friendly staff, the arugula salad was delish, the garlic foccacia was yummy, the vodka tortellini fantastic, but the amazing pistachio ravioli stole the show!!! If I lived nearby I would be here all the time.

I went with my family to try the viral pasta in a cone. Even the fries came in a cone. But, the pizza was still served on a tray. The food was surprisingly good. The cones actually keep the pasta very hot. It's fun to eat out of the cone but if you want to dive in rather than wait for your food to cool down, would recommend just getting your pasta on a plate. I had the carbonara and shared truffle fries with the family. The service is really fantastic. Will definitely go back!

This place had been on my list to try and I finally made the trek up. One thing I would say is that having the pasta or pizza in the cone is nice to try but I definitely preferred having them on a plate. The table next to use go once a week and always get the plate. It's definitely to try since that's what has been advertised but just a warning that the cones are alright. The staff were all very nice, especially since it's a small restaurant inside. We wanted to try a couple pastas since we were feeling some warm noodles. We started off with some fries and the soup of the day which was Minestrone. Both were delicious and reasonably priced. For the pasta, we decided on the squid ink and the lemon linguine. I enjoyed how there was a lot of shrimp in the pasta. They did not skimp out on it. Personally, I loved the lemon flavor was very present in the shrimp. For the squid ink pasta, I felt that the noodles were a little dry and hard to chew. I still enjoyed both dishes but liked the lemon linguine much more. Overall, I'm glad I got to try this spot and I still want to try some of the pastas on the menu.

Went on a Friday evening walked in and they had seating available indoors and outdoor. We sat inside not a big location but spacious enough. I went with my wife and 2 daughters and they were very accommodating. We ordered a cheese pizza and a few different pasta cones and truffle fries. I got Angel hair pasta in a cone and it was good I enjoyed it. The smallest pizza they offer is a 12 inch so my daughter wasn't going to eat all of it so I had a few slices. To me the pizza was probably the best thing I had there. The thin crust was crispy but still soft, it was very cheesy and the sauce was great. I look forward to going back.

We had a lovely Valentine's Day Dinner. Food is great!!! Glad we did not have to wait to get seated when we got there at 5.30 pm without a phone reservation. Street parking is a bit challenging

The ambiance is small and cute definitely a good place for the summer. We got the mushroom and spinach pizza this was very filling We got the squid ink pasta which was pretty good and the shrimp was very flavorful.. We then got a cup noodles which was very creamy.

I dined at Anto Pizza & Pasta on July 15, 2024 at 7 pm. Finding parking was such a struggle, so I had to park a block away and walked over. Despite the struggle, it was worth it because I really wanted to try this pasta in a cone. Even if it may be a gimmick, I thought it was a fun way to eat this delicious pasta. I had the lemon linguine with shrimp. I always prefer a cream-based pasta over a tomato based pasta dish. With this in mind, I wholeheartedly enjoyed this pasta dish for its lemony essence that cut the richness of the sauce. The shrimps were cooked perfectly. The pasta of course was cooked perfectly al dente. Also this pasta was served very HOT, which is not like any pasta dish I've had before. The service was excellent. Even though I was seated outside, the server was still attentive and very nice. If you're in a mood for some good pasta in a cone, this is the place to go!

Anto Pizza & Pasta is definitely worth checking out for the novelty--where else can you get pasta in a cone? It's a unique and fun experience, especially if you're looking for something a little different. That said, while the concept is interesting, the food itself is pretty average. The pasta is decent but not particularly memorable, so if you're coming purely for great Italian flavors, you might leave wanting more. If you're here for the experience, it's definitely worth trying at least once!

Neighborhood pizza spot that is A1 from portions to taste. I know a lot of folks come here for the pasta--wouldn't recommend. But the pizza and the wings are some of the best tavern style I've had in Chicago. Hands down. It's best if eaten in-house as opposed to ordering bc the crust is PERFECTION fresh out the oven

Santino was our server and he is fantastic, attentive but not smothering, and another very kind blonde girl inside who was also super great. We sat on the patio which has great ambiance, it's right next to the train station which makes it super accessible and the noise isn't a bother when the food is as good as it is. We got the carbonara (10/10) and the lemon linguine (also 10/10). BYOB was also super easy, just asked for glasses and Santino brought them. Overall awesome restaurant with great food and great service!!

My husband and I heard about this spot from a TikTok and decided to give it a try. Immediately, you are welcomed as if it is a family friend's home. The owner is friendly and kept checking to see if everything was to our liking. I had the Fettuccine Alfredo while my husband had the Spaghetti Carbonara. Both dishes were fresh, handmade, and full of flavor. We also ordered the garlic bread which was simplistic yet delicious! The restaurant itself is a bit small, but in my opinion--absolutely worth it! Service was quick, staff was friendly, and we will be back again!

If you have seen any of my other reviews, I always get a meatball when I'm at a place that has them. They almost never live up to my expectation. But this place has the new gold standard for a meatball. It was everything you want. It is fork tender, full of flavor, no chewy ground up bits. The pizzas were authentic and thin. We had visited Florence last year, and one of the numerous wonderful moments of our trip to Italy was seeing "Il Porcellino" - the lucky bronze boar fountain that draws tourists from around the world. A copy of the boar stands proudly near the entrance of the restaurant, and though it is not as old as the original 1634 sculpture, it was a charming reminder of our amazing Italian holiday. Did I mention that the weekday Happy Hour (4-6PM) specials are quite good? The specials are served only at the bar area, so you might have to wait a few minutes for available seating. We started with some drinks, including two kinds of Negroni. The wild mushroom arancini (5 little balls for $6) were the smallest I've tried, but they were creamy and melt-in-your mouth delicious. The whipped ricotta and jam beautifully served on a strip of toasty focaccia was a unique taste sensation. Prime beef meatballs and short rib sliders on toasted ciabatta bread also hit the spot. Even though we were merely dining at the bar, we enjoyed the overall vibe of the restaurant. There are lots of photos on the walls, interesting lighting from the ceiling, nice serving dishes, and servers who seem to know who their regular diners are. We look forward to returning to Il Porcellino, to bask in that indescribable feeling of being in Italy again.

It's one of those places that you find yourself talking about long after the meal is over. The garlic bread alone is worth the visit. They pour what feels like a gallon of garlic butter over it, and somehow it's still never enough. It's rich, indulgent, and absolutely delicious. We order it every single time and would probably be disappointed if we didn't. The real star of the show, though, is the lasagna. Between the two of us, we've had lasagna at countless restaurants, and nothing has come close to this one. It's hands down the best lasagna we've ever had. Perfect layers, incredible flavor, and the kind of comfort food that makes you want to savor every bite. Their Grey Goose espresso martini is also unmatched. We've tried espresso martinis all over Chicago, and this one is still our favorite. It's smooth, perfectly balanced, and the ideal way to start or end the meal. The atmosphere is another reason we love coming here. The restaurant is gorgeous inside, with a dark, moody vibe that makes it feel special without being stuffy. It's the perfect date night spot whether you're celebrating something or just looking for a great night out together. If you're visiting Chicago and love Italian food, Il Porcellino is a must. Great food, amazing drinks, beautiful ambiance, and a meal you'll be thinking about long after you've left. We make a point to visit every time we're in town, and it never disappoints.

I would say it's a romantic setting, a bit dark in the restaurant. Us old folks needed the table lamp to read the menu better. I had read good things about the meatballs and bread as an appetizer so we shared that. Five meatballs, I got two. I thought they should have been hotter but I still enjoyed them. The wife wasn't impressed. Not sure about the younger folks. We shared a bottle of Classico Chianti, Montescondo which was very good. Boyfriend had the braised beef short rib. He seemed to enjoy it. Daughter had gnocchi. Wifey had Bucatini Amatriciana while I ate penne bolognese. Wifey and I shared an order of chicken Parmesan. So much of it the kids took home almost half. The wife had wanted to get the tagliatelle carbonara but with certain ingredients. They weren't sure if they could do it since the sauce was already made. She switched to the Bucatini but the server came back later with the carbonara for her to enjoy on the house. They are very nice here.
