Antoinne's is a lovely intimate little gem in Sarasota. We had dinner a couple of weeks ago on a Monday and met one of the owners, Olivie. His wife, Angela is the chef. Our food was beyond amazing. No doubt the best grouper and escargots ever had, and I'm not a fan of either one. The grouper was served with risotto and asparagus which also blew me away. My husband had the scallops, very large and melted in your mouth, incredibly fresh. Olivie, was very welcoming and charming. The service was amazing. Every aspect of the dining experience is taken care of here. The atmosphere is intimate, the service is personal, and the food is unique. Each item on the menu is made with a purpose. The chef truly cares about her preparations. I ordered the mushroom delight as an appetizer and one of the many mussel dishes as an entree. Both items were perfect. As I waited for my food, they brought me a complimentary tasting of their broccoli bisque soup. From the flower shaped butter, to the bread branded with "Antoine's", they don't lack in presentation either. I am so happy with the new location of my favorite restaurant, Antoine's. I had dinner there last night and it was as delicious as it had been at the old location yet so much more convenient. Olivier, the host, is charming as ever. My friends equally enjoyed their meals. Two of us had my favorite, Steak tartar with pomme frites ,another friend had scallops that she said were divine and we all raved about the garlicky escargot. Homemade rolls, complimentary little appetizers and complimentary little chocolate mouse made this a delicious perfect meal. The mussels are supposed to be great too. My pork was very over cooked and dry. I was told that pork needs to be cooked that way. The profiteroles had such a tiny dribble of chocolate on them that I asked for more chocolate sauce. Long over due review on my part, probably one of the best restaurant and meals I've had in Sarasota to date. We started with escargot, the best I've had in Sarasota by far. Followed by an artichoke bisque also superb. For our entrées, I had the duck medium rare and my girlfriend had one of the many variations of mussels provided. Both of them were great. We came to Siesta Key for the weekend. I didn't want to go to the tourist areas here so I Yelp off course. I also like trip advisor. I came across with this restaurant. The plates looked amazing and the reviews were very good. I believe they recently moved from another close by location. The restaurant is cozy, casual ambience. The owner was very nice with great customer service. The chef also his wife food was amazing. Everything from presentation and actual taste was on point. We order mussels as an appetizer. I absolutely love mussels and I was presently surprise they had many to choose from. The owner Oliver told us mussels is the number one food in Brussels (I didn't know that). My daughter order a steak ( cooked to perfection). She wanted it with Pasta and they went out of there way to make her fresh made pasta. The fries were excellent, thin and crunchy but moist inside, my husband couldn't stop eating them. He order the black ink pasta with shrimp and salmon, pasta al dente, sauce was creamy. I ordered the scallop rissoto. The best plate ever. Scallops were perfectly cooked, soft and tender. The rissoto was creamy just how I like it. The dessert was a lava cake with raspberry sorbet. Everything was absolutely delicious. The overall experience from service, plating and flavors were really good. My only complaint is that they close at 9pm so we were rushing to make it in time but the owner explained that here in Sarasota they have early dinner. We are from Miami so for us it was super early. Went here for the first time on Valentine's Day. This is an authentic, French restaurant, the owners are Belgium, and the wife the chef. Limited choice menu, but excellent food, fine dining and upscale. Impeccable table service and an intimate setting. Tables spaced apart nicely giving diners some intimacy. I can't even imagine why there are only 10 reviews? We had the BEST experience here. Americans aren't used to a dining experience, which involves time. Cherish it, talk with your friends, drink wonderful wine, enjoy it! We were greeted and seated prompty and given plenty of time to peruse the extensive menu. Normally while on the coast I would always have fish, but I elected to split the filet mignon with another diner. It was another world experience! But first, the appetizer! I chose their waffle, which was quite simply a very light and crisp Belgian waffle with small pieces of carmelized Apple. It had blue cheese crumbles, which were placed on it while it was still hot so they were slightly melted. It was garnished with arugula and cherry tomatoes and the combination of flavors was amazing to say the least. Not heavy, not overpowering, just amazing and delicious! The entree was a phyllo dough encrusted filet mignon. We had it prepared medium and it came out perfect! The picture shows it sliced but that's only because I forgot to take a picture prior to doing so. It had a blue cheese sauce underneath that complimented the dish perfectly. Served with perfectly prepared asparagus and a small portion of creamer potatoes, it was a top shelf experience I cannot wait to repeat. The deserts and rolls I do not have pictures of but were equally amazing. 2 of our party had the sea salt and caramel ice cream and I had the chocolate mousse. Fantastic! We took our own wine and paid a small and very fair corkage fee. Dinner for 4 with deserts was on par with other establishments in the area only in price. I rarely if ever give a 5 star review but Antione's is better than 4 star. The chef Angela is gifted and inspired and her Husband Oliver and gracious and helpful with suggestions. The atmosphere inside is romantic and sedate, so don't let the location, which is in a strip mall discourage you. We had the burratia, the mushrooms in a mild cream sauce and the escargot as an appetizer. The burrata was presented beautifully. It was light and creamy. The mushrooms had delicate, subtle sauce that gave that woodsy fall reminder with layers of flavor. The escargot was tender. I had the skate special. It was extraordinary. Skate is often severed as scallops or a thick steak. This was served as a thin angel wing, in a delightful herbed stock based sauce on top of some light mashed potatoes. One of the best meals I have had. We also had Angela's Mussels which were provincial with her own personal touch. Even the vegis in the stock are cooked to perfection so they are a part of the meal rather than the background flavor. The rolls and bread are noteworthy in themselves and difficult to deny. I found the wine list to be a well chosen one with very reasonable prices. The Pouilly Fusse was exceptional and at 45 a bottle a find. Angela knocks it out of the park with all of her sauces. They are perfection, with layers of flavors that play with the palate, This type of meal always seem to serve as a background for intelligent conversation. Oliver is a gracious host.
