I hate to pile on, but this really is one of the best restaurants I've ever had the pleasure to eat at. I've been here twice, and the second time the owner, Oliver, greeted me like an old friend. Of the four of us, two had mussels (it was not an all you can eat night) I had a wonderful grilled halibut and the fourth had a steak. All of the dishes were fantastic, well prepared, spiced perfectly, and a wonderful presentation. Since the owner knew I love risotto, i got a side of that to go with the califlower au gratin. I started with a sautéed mushroom dish, that was good but I think i will try something different next time For dessert i had the trio of blood orange sorbet, profiterole, and caramel ice cream. Couple of things to remember - MAKE RESERVATIONS - this place is small and it is full - in season, out of season, shoulder season - does not matter. Make reservations as far in advance as possible. Second - do not let the exterior scare you off, it's a strip mall and bears no resemblance to the location of a starred resturant (i don't know if they have a star but they deserve one in my opinion). I am a foodie so I love great food. This place is hidden in a modest shopping center but do not be fooled. They are masters at making you feel cared for and like you are with friends. The food is all exceptional. They offer an interesting and wide range of delights for every course. I only eat one meal a day, but their meals were so wonderful that I actually had two desserts. I just had to cancel my reservation due to a virus or cold, and the owner was only concerned with me. These are great people. I drove two hours to eat here last time and will do so again. We had a wonderful red Bordeaux (Leoville Barton 2012, at a fair price). They also offer a variety of less expensive nice wines at reasonable prices. For apps octopus and asparagus bisque. Both were great. Octopus was perfectly tender. For main course we both had filet, mine was en Croute (encased in a pastry). They were both perfect. Then to finish, profiteroles. Absolutely MAGNIFICENT!!!! Had an awesome experience. The owner Olivier George is a fantastic host. He completely made it a home away from home with the experience of cuisine to die for! Started off the night with a bottle of Justin Cabernet Sauvignon that complemented the food very well. Was referred to start with the Cauliflower Blue cheese Bisque and Burrata. O-M-GOODNESS!!!! I'm not a fan of blue cheese but the soup really awesome. The burrata is a ball of mozzarella served with some avocado butter on the side with a few pieces of baguette bread and tomato salad. Then to top off the appetizer, Olivier gave us a sample of Asparagus soup which was really good as well. As we were starting to choose our entree, Olivier suggested the special for the night. The special was American Red Snapper served on asparagus and mash potatoes topped with a magnificent mango sauce. My wife ordered the Scallops. The size of the scallops were very big and delicious. The sauce that goes with the scallops complements the yellow rice that it's served on. Both meals are extremely recommended. Now to top the meal off, we finished with Chocolate Molten lava cake served with a sherbet ice cream. The combination doesn't look like it should be together but the richness of the chocolate and the sweetness of the sherbet works very well. And my wife got the creme brûlée. Which is one of the best I've ever had. Then Olivier sent us off with a few of his hard working chocolate truffles that he's been hand-making for over 20years. That truffle completely melts in your mouth like butter. It's not meant to be chewed but just meant to just melt in your mouth. This place is absolutely AMAZING! We were a bit skeptical of the location, but don't let that fool you because the food will knock your socks off! It's a small place, towner was our waiter and his wife is the chef. They have an awesome selection of wine and the menu was to die for! I had read many reviews prior to coming to this location, but you are definitely thrown off when you come to this restaurant located in a strip mall. Would I have tried it if it weren't for the great reviews? Probably not. But the moment you sit down and are welcomed by the incredibly accommodating staff and hilarious owner, you are instantly comfortable in that tiny location. The food is incredible. The escargot was average but the rest of the meal was outstanding. The recommended wine paired perfectly with our seafood. The seabass and the scallops were amazing. Probably one of the best I have ever had. Not to mention very different than what I'm used to. I'll leave that difference as a surprise. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. We had a beautiful meal at Antoine's last night. I had black grouper on parsnip mash in a light cream sauce. The fish was so satisfying, a large steak like piece. Also ordered waffle salad topped with arugula, again sounds heavy but, waffle pieces were delicate. This is the restaurant that pays attention to detail, has a very creative chef, and is innovative and decor and menu. You must make a reservation it is hard to get into, but you will not be disappointed. If you like mussels this is the only place in town, there are about 8 ways they are served. Bon jour! While in Sarasota, my SIL suggested we dine at Antoine's, based on a recommendation from friends. Délicieux! We were greeted by Olivier, with a smile and warmth, what a pleasure. He seated us, made us comfortable, offered to answer any questions. We were served a wonderful Asparagus soup, just enough to tempt the palate. Bread and butter were made available, the bread was soft, warm. An order of clams in a delicate sauce gratified the palate. Cauliflower and Blue Cheese soup, teased the diner for what was to come. Based on our fish orders our server, Olivier, recommended Chateau de Poncie Fleurie, an excellent choice . Menu items selected at our table of 4: Salmon/red potatoes, vegetables(cooked to perfection). Scallops on a bed of tomato risotto, was excellent and a clean dish was left mmmmm. Red Snapper on a cauliflower mash and mango salsa, refined. Pork Tenderloin with mustard sauce, potato/carrot mash, positive flavors. Outstanding overall experience chez Antoine. Excellent and enjoyable service at a table well set. Tables are not crowded together. Well worth the price. Four of us for dinner. Three of us had the Red Snapper special with the Carrot Ginger Soup, Octopus (not fishy at all), and I had the Grouper (tender, flaky, and well seasoned); and the escargots!. Each dish was flavorful and well composed with garnish vegetables and risotto which was perfectly done. My asparagus was not overcooked yet still tender. 3 out of 4 plates - clean as a whistle (as my father would say). For dessert we enjoyed the chocolate mousse, incredibly rich. Coffees and a complementary chocolate ended a very nice meal, and a good value. We look forward to our return. The filet was the most tender I can remember eating in my life. We were served an amuse bouche which was an asparagus soup and it was to die for. The restaurant was just amazing. Last and most important thing, it's in a shopping center next to a Dominos pizza. It's absolutely deliberate. The owner Olivier told me that they get zero walk-ins and rely entirely on word of mouth.
