I truly had no real idea of what to expect when ordering from here, so I just went with what looked tasty and OMG ANTOJITOS TACANA DELIVERED. These are all the items we tried: Shuko Mixto Torta-like shell - nice n'crispy with unique toppings like kraut + avocado + mayo + mustard variety of savory meat ~ sounds random but this HITS Quesedilla Chiapaneca W / Shredded Chicken MASSIVE quesedilla with cilantro and other fresh toppings + home made tortillas, good crunch Chuchitos Slightly sweet masa tamales with an umami tomatoey pork filling ~ soft + meaty Rellanitos Slightly savory black beans wrapped in a ball of sweet mashed plantains W / crema as a dip ~ it was like a dessert to me + I enjoyed it v much If you like unique flavor combinations and textures, just order one of everything I listed. You will not be disappointed. The woman at the front was kind and welcoming. The restaurant was cute and clean and the parking lot is massive. So happened to be in the area and found this delicious Guatemalan joint. It's a small restaurant in a small shopping center with Vallarta in it. Has a nice parking lot. Service was quick and great. The horchata had a different and good flavor to it. Def return when I'm in the area to try some of their other items. read more

What a disappointment, I used to love this place but this last time I went on oct 1st was very disappointing. Love to support my local businesses and especially one that brings memories back home but today the lady that helped me was very judgmental of my order and also the guacamole tostada she served me was as old as time itself I didn't complain because I support my people but if yore going to be judging my food options then I'll just go elsewhere! Small quaint location. Definitely not the place for a part of ten type of vibe. I ordered their breakfast and garnachas. The eggs were good but it was over salted. The beans were on point especially when putting some crema on it. The platanos were good although one or two of them were overly dry and not good. The meat was good and definitely coming back for it again. The garnachas were good, toasty, and a reasonable size. I preferred it to have a bit more sauce on it. The elote de atol was heavenly. Hands down these are some of the best Garnachas we have tried (& we have tried plenty even downtown LA) The pollo en crema was so delicious as well as the carne guisada! The service was great. This small Guatemalan restaurant is a gem in Sylmar. Service is great. As soon as you come in you are welcomed with a smile. They have items from several countries but the main food is Guatemalan. I've been here a few times for breakfast and dinner. My favorite dish is the Pollo en crema, Chicken on a creamy sauce. With rice, pasta salad, and home made tortillas. The food here was great!! And enjoyed coming here with my husband in December 16, 2025 for the first time honestly! but will say the cons.. I did experience food poisoning eating the shrimp cocktail and ended up in the hospital two days later. I was working in overnight and had to leave and rush in. I'm not allergic to cocktails till this day and eat it from different restaurants but be careful!!! ‼‼ No hate to this restaurant but again be safe!! read more

A Hidden Gem of Authentic Guatemalan Food! And so cheap! The food was an adventure of new flavors. They make special dough for their quesadilla which is somehow fluffier and more layered than a regular quesadilla, yet still crispy! And it's long and stuffed (see the picture). The Tamal was round unlike tamales I'm used to... and STUFFED full of tender meat and vegetables. Normally they have tomato sauce on them, but I asked for sauce on the side. I can't recommend this enough for a fun food adventure on a budget. This place is so authentic... we bumped into a Guatemalan here for his 4th visit! he was so nice and ordered so much food he shared his Garnachas with us, and they were also great! The menu prices are super reasonable, with great portions. My girl and I got stuffed sharing the quesadilla and tamal. Waitress was really nice but food does take a while. It is well worth the wait as everything is super fresh and home made. I had the pollo asada and got a half chicken with smooth black beans, just the way I like them. The corn tortillas were homemade, thick and fluffy. The waitress suggested a special quesadilla for my friend which was on special for 9.99, it is massive and came in a giant homemade tortilla. We had a side of plantains which were the best I've ever had. Almost tasted like dessert. There's all kinds of funny Guatemalan quotes on their shirts and the walls. This is my go to spot when I'm craving a home cooked meal , these delicious camarones are the best ! There known for there authentic Guatemalan food and they don't lie ,there garnachas are also to die for and a great appetizer for any meal . Staff is also very accommodating and sweet . I was very excited to find a dish that one student took last school year to the potluck. They are called garnachas I believe and I had to try them. One order has 10 of these tiny tostadas and they were very good. I was able to order ahead of time and it was my first time visiting this place. The location is very tiny that as I walked towards it I passed it. lol The service was very good and quick. I arrived and it was ready for pick up. Reason why I am giving this a 4. Although every thing is great, to the service and the inside was very welcoming in a small space. My partner and I were looking for a place to eat and I chose Antojitos for the 5 star experience. We both had never tried Guatemalan cuisine so we're basing this of our first try. I got the caldo which I thought was really good. The flavor was excellent. And the portion was good too. My partner ordered a burrito. Obviously not as authentic as Mexican burritos. The meat was more of a ground meat. It has potential and the flavor was ok. It was definitely lacking something. He said it seemed to be more rice abs beans inside too. The tacos were ok. I think next time we go back it will be for the caldo during this cold season read more

Tried Guatemalan food for the first time. This is a narrow quaint and bright little restaurant located next to the Vallarta. It is decorated in bright traditional Guatemalan tapestries and souvenirs. The service was great. The staff addressed the customers as "ustedes." This was refreshing. The food was completely different from Mexican food for example. We tried their tamales which are firm and completely different from tamales Ive ever had. We also tried garnaches and quesadilla. Both were tasty. Drinks also came out quickly, although we did have to wait longer for the food items. My matcha that I ordered was really good, it was off the seasonal menu. It was a peach basil matcha, very creative combination and the basil was not overpowering at all. I also got an avocado toast with egg and that item was a little underwhelming. The egg was cold and the avocado needed a little more flavor. However, overall good experience.
