My cousin had her wedding reception here last week and it was SO GREAT! We ended up arriving later than planned, but Antonio's easily adjusted to the time difference. As soon as we gave the word, we were ready for food - there was no hesitation in how quickly the food came out. The flow of the food was great, we never waiting more than a minute or two for the next course to arrive. The food was AMAZINGLY Good- everything was hot and delicious and the presentation was wonderful. Our complements to the Chef! The room itself was set up very nicely; we were able to go in there the evening before to set up and decorate. All the staff were very nice and friendly to us and all the guests. Jonathan & Cathy were very accommodating to our requests and helped us keep the flow of the evening moving nicely. They both were even helping clear plates and re-fill drinks and make sure everyone had whatever they needed. Jonathan & Cathy really went above and beyond for our event. I would absolutely recommend Antonio's for your event (wedding reception, baby shower, corporate event, baptism etc.) The reason I didn't give 5 stars has nothing to do with Jonathan or Cathy or the food or the area we had our event in, but with the bar/bar tender. He was sneaking in 20% gratuity on some of our guest drink tabs. There was no rhyme or rhythm on who he chose to add it in. Some guest would order a drink, and it wouldn't be on there - then the same guest would order another drink, and it would be on there. If that is standard for an event like ours - we could have simply been told that up front instead of the feeling he was sneaking it in and taking advantage. That made our guest uncomfortable and unfortunately was talked about throughout the evening. Anytime someone said "were going to go get a drink" everyone was warning them to look at the receipt and be careful about the 20% gratuity automatically being added. In some cases, he was tipped from our guest on top of the 20% gratuity he was adding in, them not realizing he already claimed a tip for himself on their tab. It came off very sneaky and made several guests uncomfortable including the immediate family of the bride & groom. It's very unfortunate that an event that is going so well and everyone enjoying themselves, changed really quick because of this "pick and choose" who's tab will get automatic 20% gratuity and which one wont. He wasn't even honest to the guest who added a tip on top of the 20% he added, to let them know a tip was already included. He seemed perfectly fine taking advantage of our guest and that left a really bad taste in everyone's mouth! If this is just a standard for Antonio's (the 20% automatic tip on bar tabs) then that should be told up front, otherwise it comes off as sneaky and deceptive. Which is how everyone felt! All in all, the staff, food, venue, flow of the evening all went perfectly. I would still recommend Antonio's for your event, I would just ask for clear communication on the bar tab/gratuity situation to avoid feelings of sly behavior from the bartender. read more

Nice welcoming restaurant with a roomie parking lot. Was greeted and sat immediately. Food and drink recommendations on point. Honestly one of the best spots for lemon drop and dirty martinis. Food arrived promptly with a great presentation. I had the lamb chops, my fiancé had the tortellini with ham and peas and my daughter had pasta with shrimp. Food was phenomenal and a very generous amount that I was able to take home and enjoy it for lunch the next day. Since it was my birthday we all had dessert gelato, chocolate lava cake and crème brûlée. Also on point and super large portion easily we could have shared one. Definitely coming back! My husbands lasagna had a corner that was cold and the olive oil at the table had no flavor for dipping. Once those little loose ends are fixed its still our go to fir valentines day . So glad we came back to Antonio's in Itasca as it now has new(ish) owners. The chef that has been here for 25 years now is one of the owners! I love it when the Chef comes out to speak to his diners and we had a delightful conversation. The other owner Johnathan also was here and took excellent care of us. We tried one of the specials Scallops Dijon and it came out hot and delicious. Soup or salad is included. The salad was crisp, fresh and child with a tangy balsamic vinaigrette dressing! One of us had the Tilapia Francese which was a very generous portion with perfect lemon sauce. 5 lamb lollipops with perfectly seasoned Potatoes with garlicky sautéed spinach were quickly devoured. Tartufo with lemon sorbet was a perfect ending. Alahandro made a mean martini with friendly conversation at the bar! Open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner we know we will be back. Can't wait for the summer to return as they have a really nice and large shaded patio. read more

Tonight, we needed a last minute easter dinner. Luckily, the five folks at Antonio's was so open! I phone in our order and the very friendly lady had it food ready by the time I arrived 20 min later. We ordered calamari diavlo and the eggplant appetizer. Both were absolutely fantastic and plentiful! I really liked their red sauce, and the calamari was not overcooked! My husband and I had a rare chance to get out for a date and we chose to go here for dinner. Big mistake. We ordered a pizza margherita and when it came to the table, we were then informed that there was no basil for it. It also just looked like a traditional cheese pizza. If one of the key ingredients was missing, it would have been nice to have been notified about it before it was delivered to us. The most concerning part about this experience though is that the owner was smoking inside the building and walking into the kitchen with a lit cigarette in his mouth. After we saw that, we lost our appetites and asked for the check. It was a very disappointing experience, to say the least. read more

This restaurant was better when it was named Sergio's. Food quality has declined, staff are rude and incompetent. They have one waitress and her strategy for getting tips is tight pants and low cut tops rather than half decent service. It's a suburban Italian restaurant, not a hooters. All of our food came out cold. Our whole table waited over an hour for a drink refill (no exaggeration), but then unsurprisingly when we finished eating the manager came to the table three times to ask if we want dessert. Then, the waitress suddenly reappeared to try again to sell us dessert. Flavor of the food was not good. I've tried to give them multiple chances but I'm not coming back anymore. read more

This is by far the worst service I've ever encountered at a restaurant. Takes forever to get acknowledged. Every time you ask for something, you feel like you're inconveniencing them. Owner is extremely rude and acts like he should never be questioned. Restaurant smells horribly like cigarettes and we can literally see why, the owner stands in the enclosed patio and smokes. I'm not sure how the city allows this. This restaurant needs to be shut down immediately. The only reason it survives is because they make $20K a month in slot machine profits. The owner could care less about the restaurant itself. The city of Itasca should be embarrassed about this owner and the way he treats customers yet alone feeling it's okay to light up around food. The fastest part of the visit was how quickly he came back with my charged credit card when I wanted to pay. That took less than 90 seconds. Way to go Antonio. read more

We had our company's holiday luncheon here last Wednesday. From the outside it looks like this place has been here for a long time. That's a good sign for an Italian restaurant. Inside the place feels warm and cozy with several rooms for private parties. Our group of about 30 were seated in a room with a 'U' shaped table. At first it looked like it would be cramped but everyone had plenty of elbow room and the servers were able to moved around freely and quickly. Service for our group was very attentive, drinks were refilled regularly and wine was flowing easily. The menu had something for everyone. Pastas, meats and seafood options abound. I ordered the spaghetti calamari while everyone around me ordered the lasagna. Minestrone was a nice starter. When the food arrived the plates were all piping hot and my plate had ample calamari covering the pasta. At first it appeared the spaghetti was overcooked but my first bite was perfection. Nice firm pasta and well prepared calamari. Everyone that ordered the lasagna also said it was very good. For dessert they brought out trays with tiramisu, cannolis and cheesecake bites. I was too full for dessert so I didn't sample any but they looked very good. Overall, service was excellent for a large party. They were very attentive and extremely courteous. He was incredibly rude, didn't write down the order at all and then blamed us when he forgot things. We celebrated a friend's birthday at this lovely restaurant. Our server was friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious. Had dinner here on a Thursday night at 8pm and it was DEAD! I was a little nervous since we just typed into googled "Italian restaurants near us" the pictures looked cute so we gave it a shot. This place blew us away! From the refreshing aperol spritz to the stuffed gnocchi. I was originally taken back by how beautiful it was inside. It looks a bit small from outside but you walk In and it's much bigger and elegant than you imagined. The outside patio was equally as large. it looked like they had fire pits for the outside area and possibly a cover for colder weather, I'll have to visit again soon to check that half out. On to the service, and before I give them praise, as a person in the restaurant industry I know that sometimes the crappiest service comes from when it's way too busy or way too slow. They could have checked out and given us mediocre service but they didn't, the second we sat down someone was by to greet us with water and then bread, our server was kind and attentive. Helped with recommendations and steered us in the right. We had the two items off the weekly specials menu. Stuffed Asiago cheese gnocchi and another pasta dish with shrimp, scallops, spinach tomatoes in an olive oil sauce. All and all this place was fantastic and we are very excited to come with more company to share our new favorite Italian restaurant. read more

We dined outside (very large & covered patio space) on a Monday at 7 pm...we were the only people at the restaurant, always a sketchy sign, but we decided to give it a go. Absolutely outstanding. I came to Antonio's twice. The first time I came to try the food out and see if this was the restaurant we wanted our rehearsal dinner at. The second time I came was with our 35 guests to have the rehearsal dinner. I traveled 2.5 hours from Madison to Antonio's one night and requested to have a meal that would be similar to what I wanted to serve my guests. Antonio and David were kind enough to walk me through the menu options and serve me a couple of courses with reduced portions so I could taste all the options. I left that evening knowing that this was the place. The food, at this point, was perfectly cooked. Service was very enjoyable and knowledgeable about general dining. Finally, the atmosphere was nice and elevated. Notably, There is a private dining space for small to medium sized groups. When we came in on rehearsal dinner day, several of my guests were late. Antonio and crew were very accommodating of the late start. Courses came out as discussed and wine was on the table ready to be served. Each course was perfectly timed, clearly freshly prepared, and tasted like we were being served at a two person dinner. Really, for creating food for a large group of people, I've never seen a restaurant achieve this level of perfection. I would like to also note that some of our guests have very strict food restrictions which the restaurant was willing to accommodate with in advance notice. At the end of the night, several of my guests stopped by to let Antonio know how impressed they were. Everybody was incredibly happy and I felt no regrets choosing this restaurant. HORRIBLE service, and definitely NOT child friendly. We attended a party here. I have 2 young children, a baby and a toddler. We had to go in search of 2 high chairs ourselves because the staff was absent except when they had to bring food or clear plates. When I went to find the bathrooms to change my baby's diaper I found NO changing table in the women's bathroom. I checked all three stalls. I ended up dragging a chair into the area just outside the bathroom and changing him on there while my mom held his head (since the chair wasn't long enough for his entire body). I also tried to find a staff member other than the food-runners, like a manager, and couldn't find anyone. The restaurant was mostly empty except the couple of parties going on but there was hardly any staff to be found. When it was time to change my toddlers diaper we had to stand her on top of the bathroom counter, pull out the wet diaper, and then finagle a dry one on her while one of us sort of held her in midair. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. How do you not have a changing table? Possibly even worse than having no changing tables is that the food runners never brought my toddler food. The host of the party apparently paid for kids meals for the young kids, but they were never brought out. Someone else with kids asked the guys bringing out the food for plates of pasta for her own young kids (kindergarten age) as the pasta was being brought to the adults, but my toddler was just passed over like she wasn't even there. No salad. No pasta... and no kids meal that was apparently supposed to exist. And when the clean plates for the main dish (served family style) came out they didn't bring her a plate. We had to ask for an extra plate for her. My kid is going on 2. She eats food. Either bring her the kids meal or bring her the regular meal. But how do you not serve children?!!! Additionally, during the 3 hours we were there, our tiny water glasses were never refilled. At one point my father got up from our table and grabbed a water pitcher that was sitting on one of the servers tables and refilled our waters for us. When dessert was coming out one of the servers/food runners very quickly asked 2 people at our table if they wanted coffee and then whisked away when they said no. The other end of the table didn't even have a chance to reply. It was almost like he was hoping nobody wanted coffee and high-tailed it out of there. Such a weird experience. I've honestly never experienced such awful service. I would never go back here and would not recommend this place. Not that it's even worth mentioning, but the food was good. read more

This place used to be one of my favorite restaurants but after my last visit I will not be returning. Drove by and saw they had set up their patio in front of the restaurant and it looked very inviting on a nice summer day to eat outside. So first we arrive with the one Manager smoking and blowing smoke feet from the seated guests outside.. ridiculous but I think to myself he will be gone by the time we sit down. Go inside am greeted by an impatient older italian lady I think she may be the owner.. rushes us to a seat all the way in back of the parking lot patio... ask if we can be seated upfront do also to nicer chairs she huffs and tells us we normally do not let smaller partys sit in these tables they are for larger parties... but she would make an exception. Gee... thanks... As soo as we are seated he come the manager with the chain smoking blowing smoke On a particularly windy day saturating all of us with the cigarette smoke if you do any research you can also see this is not safe during these times of Covid there's a cigarette smoke carries the virus worse than just normal air... our waiter greets us he begins to rush us through the menu telling us to put through the entire order.. Flies then begin to attack us we were seatting out between 5 to 7 flies at a time... not fun The waiter just leaves and a large gust of wind blows through the front patio and umbrella that was not properly fastened down on one of the tables torpedoes directly at our table.. nearly missing us... The older lady who again I think is the owner came out because the umbrella had crashed into the table next to ours breaking the olive oil bottle all over the place... she never said sorry or anything she just giggled and just said Ohhh Myy... Our food comes out and it is very salty again not what I remember the place been when I was here before Covid their food was usually spectacular ... more guests show up it look like to be friends of the owners they begin to Vape and freely smoke out on the patio... and of course as you know he had to come around the chain smoking manager begins to light up another Cigarette... Are most of the bus boys were wearing masks under their nose grabbing our water glasses with their bare hands and filling the water while going around to other tables and doing the same complete lack of any type of precautions due to Covid... At this point I just want to leave. We get the bill it was close to $100 definitely not worth it for the food that we got iand definitely not worth it for the experience we had... This place really does not care about Covid or taking any precautions.. This is my opinion go check this place out for yourself if you would like. read more

Came here for coffee and dessert as it was one of the few spots still open after 9pm. Place is dark, dingy and smelled of cigarette smoke in the lobby. No one greeted us for over 5 mins. I had to peek into the bar area for someone to come over and attend to us. We were then placed in the bar area that reeked of cigarette smoke despite having asked to be put in the restaurant area. Both the dessert and coffee were awful. Would not recommend this place due to lack of service and poor food. read more

To start off I want to say that my mother was first generation Italian so I'm a little picky. Only to find out the head chef is from the same part of Italy as my mom was from. That being said this is a must try Italian place if you're in or around the new 390 and old 53. They have seasonal Al fresco dining so take your lady who wants to eat outside. I started with the tar tar with arugula like a starter salad. My son had the oyster rockfellar he said the taste was richer in taste than Rockfellar himself! Soup or salad come with your dinner so come hungry The main course didn't disappoint my son had the sea food soup and I don't eat a lot of seafood but the look of his plate made me want my own. As for me I had something my mother used to make "braciole" and I have to say they absolutely nailed it. Overall it was a 5 star experience and the only reason I'm leaving 4 stars is I hope more people read it and realize places like these are a local gem we are slowly losing. I was there on Feb 4th. There was only one person taking orders and running the bar. The hostess had her feet up on the stand and was ok. The waitress took a while to get to us, and we tried to make light of the situation. When we mentioned to her that a table was trying to get her attention she BARKED back at us "I'm doing the best I can". We were only trying to help.
