Pizza was cooked great. Cheese and toppings perfect. Meatball sub great. The garlic knots were gummy on the inside, waste of $9 .

My usual favorite is…read moreTousey House, but they aren't open for dinner on Sundays so I needed to find an alternative. Fort Mitchell Public House Bar and Grill checks all of my boxes. The first thing I look for is a nice patio. Unfortunately the weather wasn't cooperating today, but I will be back for this fabulous patio. I was there before the dinner rush, which explains the emptiness of the restaurant. More people started arriving after 5:00. There were so many yummy sounding choices on the menu that it was hard to decide. I asked my server, Erin, what she recommends and she said the CAJUN BOURBON FILET TIPS were her favorite. I went with that and was not disappointed. The filet was cooked and seasoned perfectly. It is served over mashed potatoes and topped with onion straws. While the beef portion was small, it was a satisfying meal and the flavors were perfection! I added a side Caesar salad. Their house-made croutons were so good and the dressing was tasty and perfectly portioned. I don't often order dessert, but decided to splurge tonight and got a slice of the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake to-go. OMG, this is one of the best cheesecakes I've ever had. It was light and dense at the same time, if that makes sense. So creamy and melt in your mouth delicious. I will dream about it tonight LOL.

We should have just left at that point but our kids were hungry. Dinner was finally served and it was good, but no one seemed very concerned about how long we waited. We asked for our check and then we were given the wrong, much more expensive check. I'm not sure if they were understaffed but the restaurant was only half full when we arrived. I wish we hadn't dropped $90 on this dinner.

Instead, I got something shocking... Actual great pizza!!! The wood-fired crust comes out blistered and charred just enough to whisper, "I went to Italy for a semester and didn't come back with a man bun." It's crispy outside, chewy inside ... the kind of texture that makes you forget every sad, floppy chain pizza you've ever eaten in a strip mall next to a vape store. The toppings? Legit. We're talking San Marzano tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, hot honey, and fancy meats that sound like they have their own passport. And here's the real shocker: It's not pretentious. Nobody lectures you about "mouthfeel." Nobody asks if you want your pizza "deconstructed." Nobody serves it on a wooden plank shaped like Vermont. It's just seriously good pizza ... the kind that makes you say, "Wow, maybe civilization isn't collapsing after all." And the wood-fired flavor? Smoky, slightly charred, and rich...like it was baked by a Tuscan grandmother who also owns a flamethrower. The owner just showed me their home made pasta dish for the Friday in Lent. Looks amazing!! Thank you Patrick for the tip!!

It is the quintessential neighborhood "watering hole"--a place where the greeting is as warm as the grease on the flat-top. Stepping into PeeWee's feels like entering a living room that just happens to have a full bar and a sand volleyball court out back. My wife and I stopped in here on our way back home. It was lunch time, and the place was crowded. We started off with a Taco Salad with some wings on the side. The Taco Salad brings together your choice of beef or chicken, fresh veggies, jalapeños, and crispy tortilla chips! Our entrée was the PeeWee cheeseburger with Saratoga chips! The cheeseburger is nothing short of a masterclass in the classic American style. It's juicy, well-seasoned, and mercifully devoid of artisanal pretense. The kitchen leans heavily into "Killer Comfort Food," and for the most part, it executes with soul. PeeWee's doesn't try to reinvent the wheel; it simply keeps it spinning with genuine hospitality and reliable, rib-sticking classics. Whether you're there for a beer bucket by the volleyball court or a plate of biscuits and gravy, the value and the "hometown" soul make it a mandatory stop.

We could have just shared this platter for our lunch if we had known the amount of food that came with the dish. The portion sizes were large. It had two heaping mounds of hummus, ample warm pita bread triangles, thick cucumber slices, hardy carrot sticks and spicy pepperocinis all over a "bed" of kalamata olives. The presentation was beautiful and the taste was delectable. My sister had the "Rod & Reel" lunch special, which is a choice of soup/salad and 1/2 a sandwich with a side. Her salad was a meal all by itself. She ended up taking home part of the salad and all of the sandwich. I tried the Willow sandwich. It's a delectable mix of avocado , lettuce, tomato , smoked turkey and mayo on ciabatta bread with a side of blue tortilla chips. I too, took my sandwich home because I was full from sharing the hummus appetizer. Everything about this restaurant was appealing to me. The staff and service were friendly and accommodating. Because the restaurant originated in Montana, all of the pictures and decor reminded one of hard-working people on an expansive ranch with animals and surrounded by family and down-to-earth friends. I really enjoyed the lunch experience.
