We LOVE Antonio's! It's always great food, great service, great prices for the portions! We always have a great meal. We highly recommend.

Very very good. Hubby got the cacoila plate with rice & broccoli, I got a steak sandwich, and we got a piece of tiramisu to share. The steak sandwich was so soft & tender ... delish! And hubby said the cacoila was perfect (I also tried a bite, I agree.) and there's enough for 2 or 3 meals out it!

We ordered pick up and I thought that the food was decent. I ordered the Steak Antonio's Style with rice and boiled potatoes as my sides. I liked it but I found both the steak and rice to be very under seasoned. I would still like to try to dine in and see how the other dishes may be!

Since becoming "locals" 2 years ago, we having been trying the many Portuguese restaurants recommended by Azorean friends throughout RI and SE Mass. We finally made it to what many say "the best in the area". Well - they ain't wrong.. Caught the last table at lunch during the week. In summary, Extensive menu Great service Very reasonable prices HUGE portions. As we had been warned on the latter, we skipped appetizers and only ordered beers and coconut shrimp and sirloin and stuffed shrimp entrees. Both came with massive quantities of very well made potato chips and the steak had the usual mountain of rice. Food was very good and we both ending up taking boxes home. Damages were $52 with tip. What a bargain (and where do you see draft beers under $3?) Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Value 5/5 Cleanliness 5/5 COVID sanity 5/5 Noise 3/5 (lively) Decor 3/5

If you're looking for quality, Portuguese cooking done the old school, family way, then We spent just over $100 for 4 plates that really could've fed 8 people, plus 3 IPAs, a sangria, and 2 root beers. I had feijoada and my wife had this incredible beef rib dish with rice. My daughter had a steak that came with ham on top and a fried egg. Such a treat, Great family atmosphere. Lots of Portuguese- speaking families as well as other languages. What I liked the most was the wait: after ordering, it took about 20 minutes for our piping hot food. Just like the old days when family would gather around the table on a Sunday afternoon after mass. Sounds counterintuitive to enjoy the wait, but it made complete sense.

TLDR: amazing food, efficient service, beware of secret pork I heard about this place as a teenager but haven't tried it until now. All I can say is "wow". The service is fast pace but attentive. You do not see the servers sitting around, I feel like they are going from open to close but they work efficiently and politely. However, the food here is so good, it would take the server yelling at me and slapping my boyfriend not to come back. Portion sizes are big depending on the dish. The Alentejana dishes are incredible, literally clams, meat and potato mountain. While they only give you about half a dozen clams, When you inevitably take home the leftovers you can always throw some canned clams into the sauce, which our waitress cleverly separated for the ride home (efficient AND clever). I don't know what they fry their potato's in but they come out so crispy and the dryness begs for a good sprinkling of vinegar to round it out. The first time we went (we've gone back twice in a week and we live 40 minutes away) I got the grilled sardines because those are a rarity at any typical seafood establishment and I Effin LOVE FRESH SARDINES. They are presented simply and with a good char. I got mine with the house made fried potato chips and just scooped up the sardines with it. I was so happy. My bf has loved the meals he has had. His only complaint was that the beef skewers had sausage that was not mentioned in the menu and he does not eat pork. So asking about pork products in food may be necessary.

I am Portuguese and live in Texas . So I have none of these great foods available to me where I live, so when I go home, I kind of over do it. So these picture are what , I ate for lunch . The bread for the sandwiches, were some of the freshest Portuguese rolls I have had in a restaurant, soft on the inside and crusty on the outside! The kale soup was good but I wouldn't order it again because it is not made like my dad makes it. Their soup has noodles and their broth is cloudy tastes like potato. The blade meat was so tender and the flavor was incredible. Beside my fathers blade meat, which is a 10 , this was a 9.9 . The linguica sandwich , cooked perfectly, great flavor and was a high quality sausage. The fried sardines were scrumptious. The were cooked nice and crispy but not greasy! Definitely coming back again, plenty of parking in a vacant lot across the street. Service here was amazing . They have a full bar and make a great Manhattan! Finally their Stuffed quahog was made like my dads! Had pieces of linguica and nice cHunks of clam and a nice spicy flavor. I would order all these foods again but maybe not all for lunch! Lol

The portion size was excellent. On a scale of 1 to 10 the food was a seven. if you're in the area, it is worth a try.

I was escorted to my table and was soon greeted by my waiter Ethan who brought bread and the menus. Bread was just mini white loafs, exceptional only for its absolute freshness. So many places have done away with table bread so this was very much appreciated, but it was way too much for a single diner. The mostly Portuguese menu had much to choose from. I got the Pasteis de Bacalhau appetizer (codfish cakes). The 8 small-sized cakes had a subtly crisp golden brown exterior and a filling that was light in both texture and flavor - less salt cod than in some others would be my guess. This was served with banana peppers and black olives over a bit of lettuce. I liked them but felt a sauce of some sort would have elevated them. I used Red Hot from the table. The entree section was very heavy on the meats, particularly steaks of which there were 8, sirloin, shish ka bob, filet, and t-bone, prepared in a variety of ways. I didn't want a steak and, being in a Portuguese restaurant I wanted something more obviously Portuguese. So I went to the seafood section which was also extensive and found Swordfish Alhinho Style. I asked Ethan about it who replied confidently and correctly that it was a lemony sauce made with a lot of garlic and it is served over the fish which is grilled. Which was exactly correct. He was a great waiter in all respects. The dish was the swordfish, boiled halved potatoes, and broccoli. The fish was generously covered with the lemony garlicky gravy, the garlic in large chunks making up maybe 1/2 of the volume. There was plenty enough left over for the potatoes, which I liked for being just boiled and sliced, not mashed. The only flaw was the broccoli. I'm not sure but it tasted frozen, not fresh. That's a shame because there was a lot of it but it wasn't worth eating. So both the appetizer and entree were very good, and representative of Portuguese cuisine. Not innovative or special in any way but this isn't that kind of restaurant. It's upscale but not "fine dining". You can see that in the table settings too: the napkins are white cloth but the placemats are the paper kind with advertisements on them. But it was a nice atmosphere in spite of the Keno machine and many televisions, and the noise level was moderate. The cocktails used mostly standard brands like Bacardi and Stoli, with a few unusual liqueurs added in. I had a Portuguese Cha Frio (Iced Tea) made with Stoli Citron, Licor Beirao (a Portuguese liqueur), unsweetened tea, and lemon. I liked it and it seemed strong enough. The wine list included a few Portuguese ones by the glass. I didn't think my wine very good but I wanted to stick to the Portuguese theme as much as possible. I liked that it was brought in a carafe that still had some left over after Ethan poured my first glass. The espresso was perfect. No disagreeable sour notes, just pleasantly and slightly bitter, an aroma slightly fruity. As for desserts, I don't think they are made in house, and they aren't particularly Portuguese. My cheesecake (was it Crème Brûlée flavor?) was good, with a semi-dry texture, a layer of caramel on top, and a drizzle of something underneath. So overall I was pretty satisfied with Nuno's. 4.5 stars really. To get that 5th star from me they'd only have to improve the broccoli and add ethnic desserts made in house.

Nuno's never misses. A gold standard for Portuguese food in New Bedford and other restaurants…read moreshould take notes.
