Came on a Monday night with a group of 10+ and we had such a great time that we decided to return a couple days later. The drinks were fine but they charged a 20% gratuity on our checks and we had no idea!! What is that?? I want to like this place but I will certainly never come back and will discourage others from going just because of that mandatory gratuity. I worked in service and I'm happy to leave a 20% tip, but I don't appreciate it being forced on my bill and then not explained. I ended up inadvertently leaving them an extra 20% for mediocre service and drinks and I feel taken advantage of. I went with my two friends to Anytime as I was lulled in by the amount of pool tables and ability to play darts as well. My friends and I were excited to play pool but after hearing that pool was $35 an hour for a table, we quickly declined as we were not about to be ripped off. We ordered a beer bucket with a bottle of soju, which I thought was a nice addition to the bucket, and played darts for 30 minutes. I would've rated this place higher if I didn't receive the bill and learn that they automatically add 20% gratuity for all purchases. You cannot reasonably tell me playing darts for 30 minutes and getting one beer bucket amounts to 20% automatic added gratuity for three people. Will not be coming back to this establishment as there are plenty of other dive bars in the city where you can play pool/darts for cheaper, without an added 20% gratuity. read more

We really have a fun time at anytime billiards. This place is a perfect spot for a date night, party, or just have fun time out. The decor are very nice. They have big screen TVs, variety of arcades games, and billiards. The staff and the manager are very nice and kind. I am not very good at play billiards so the staff kindly helped and guided me. What a rip off! Warning extra 20% gratuity fee added. This place will be reported to the BBB. What they don't tell you is that for any game you pay pool or darts they add a 20% gratuity fee! This is not for the waitstaff. So you have to pay a mandatory 20% tip on top of the cost per hour to play a game on the pool table or dart board! Talk about misleading and stealing your money! The pool tables are garbage, they are lower than normal pool tables, tables are uneven and if you hit the ball slow the ball will obviously bend towards one corner. The place is a joke. Was looking for a nice bar for drinks during a recent stay in NYC and found Anytime Billiards open. Lots of pool tables and 2 electronic dart boards. Also tons of TVs to watch any sporting event (with dance/hip hop music in the background). Didn't have a chance to try the food but the drinks were good with a full bar available. At the time, Nelson was our bartender....he was attentive and hospitable to us, as was the entire staff! Can get busy on Fri and Sat nights. Came here for a date night on a Wednesday evening. It wasn't too busy which I didn't mind at all. I wish I remembered the name of our server, he was so kind. They have different drink specials during week, on Wednesdays they have XXL frozen margaritas for $25. I do think it was overpriced for the amount and it tasted like a frozen strawberry slushy. Unfortunately, there was an issue with the kitchen so it was closed for the night. Despite the mid margarita and the kitchen being closed I would come back here for another date night or even a night out with friends.
