This review is a long time overdue. Love this gym! I haven't made it in much though, combination of busy work schedule and a purchase of a home peloton. Now I will be traveling for a few months and had to put my membership on a freeze and they made that process seemless. The gym has always been responsive, knows my name, doesn't take a week to call me back when I have a concern, question, or comment, and the place is never busy when I go. You never have to play the, "are you done with that?" game with other members. There's tons of equipment and cardio machines. Join, it's a great gym! read more

I went here looking to get a membership after seeing " memberships start at $29" at this location (online). Well, that's wrong. You have to pay for a key and a registration fee, plus monthly membership is actually $44, AND you have to sign a contract, there's no month-to-month. I was given a 10-day pass though even though. I'll save you some time, money, and a lot of headaches. Do not sign a contract at Anytime Fitness, especially in Dixon, CA. As others have noted, it's impossible to cancel and even when it expires, you go month to month and it's hard to get them to stop charging you. I was a member at the Dixon, CA location, stopped going when COVID hit and also moved to a location where the nearest gym was 30 miles and they still wouldn't let me out after dozens of phone calls. Continued paying through the contract (14 more months), and then they tell me I owe two more months after it ended. And then they also tried to get me to come to Dixon (I don't live near there) to sign papers to cancel. He finally gave up and said he would cancel for me over the phone if I paid the final 2 months. Awesome, thanks! DO NOT SIGN UP. I DO recommend PLANET FITNESS. I have had memberships at Planet Fitness two separate times, both times good experience and easy to cancel (but I don't live near one anymore). So find one of those or another good gym if you are looking. read more

In town for a couple days and wanted to buy either a day, week or month pass. They would not sell me any. They said minimum was a 3 month contract for like $300.....I was confused because the door said $1 to join. I signed up in July of 2022 for 6 weeks with a trainer just to help get myself back on track, and by week three I committed to an entire year contract of personal training because in that short span of time, Stephen had already proven his value as a trainer. We have worked a full year together now and I have seen tremendous improvements in myself, both physically and in my habits; I attribute much of my success to Stephen and his coaching/accountability. He is really good at giving suggestions for better posture/positioning during exercises for max results, and he is great at personalizing the workouts to suit specific goals. He taught me a lot about nutrition, tracking macros, and gave me the tools I needed to do that, and keep accountable. I really appreciate the work and effort he has put in with me and our time together. Highly recommend him as a trainer- he is knowledgeable, personable and makes the trainings fun. read more

Stephan is a good trainer that takes the time to educate work outs and good eating habits for better results, he tough me the postures I needed to do correctly to succeed on work my cardios and weights. My wife and I prepaid for a year membership each. When the manager is Dixon saw that we were using his gym he requested more money from us. My contract did not have the same verbiage as his contract. I brought those facts to his attention and he stated he was a franchise and could charge what he wanted. He locked my wife out of the Dixon location. When I referenced the Anytime, Anywhere that was posted in the gym and main point of advertisement, he smiled and repeated that his gym, his rules. If we didn't like his rules we would need to use a different gym. The manager text me after I posted a poor review on Yelp. Then he had my posting removed. Be aware of the poor business practices of this location. I contacted corporate and they were unable to answer the anytime anywhere part in their business plan! read more

I joined this location over a year ago. Owned or run by a very personable husband and wife who seemed to be available almost anytime the place was head and shoulders above any other location I visited. Well 4 or 5 months ago the Ownership changed and this location has gotten progressively worse! First off they hired people that have NO desire or ability to interact with clients. I have seen them at all different times just sitting in the office doing whatever, but never making eye contact with members much less knowing them by name. They seem to be just marking time and certainly do not provide the kind of management I signed up for. Add to the weak, nonexistent management the fact that machines are not maintained. Squeaking ellipticals and treadmills, with touch screens and TVs that they refuse to fix. Scale displays falling off the wall, and nice hand wipes replaced by cheap, thin paper towels. Also a direct result of the weak or nonexistent management the basic oversight of some members who do not treat the workout stations with any degree of decorum or respect for cleanliness and the fact that other members even exist. THEY JUST DON'T CARE AT THIS LOCATION ANYMORE! read more

This review is for the new management at Anytime Fitness. I just recently moved to Davis and decided to transfer to a new gym. Ideally I like the simple small gyms a place not too complicated.. that's what I saw in Anytime Fitness Dixon location. I was here once before last Friday, except that none of the workers were there at the hours shown posted in front of their doors 10-7pm on Mon-Thurs and 10-2pm on Fridays. I wanted to do the 7 day pass and talk about the plan to sign up. Yet no one there to talk to. I liked that it was an empty gym, whereas other gyms at prime time (6pm) would be a lot of foot traffic. I came back today, Monday around 5pm. Again, NO ONE working! Am I missing something?? Has the new boss not hire anyone? Two guys came out and approached me saying there's new management and they hardly see workers. He called a friend who actually works there but isn't on schedule for today and they just explained how they would get in trouble for letting me in... that's not what I want. I want someone who actually works the schedule from 10am through 7pm. It's completely unfair for someone who's just trying to APPLY and START to gym. COMPLETELY WASTED MY TIME, TWICE. I've been a member of this gym for a few years now & I have a lot of respect for current management. Since Stephen has been managing this location, I have had zero issues! The gym is always clean and any concerns I might have, are address immediately . Stephen is willing to help or answer any of my questions, always greets me with a smile & genuinely cares!! I really enjoy it here at Anytime Fitness. Prior to joining here I was a member at 24 hr in Fairfield. It is a small gym, but everything that you need is there. Unlike the other large gyms the equipment here is always available. And YES, it is much nicer here to not have the feeling that everyone in the gym is staring at you. I do miss having a sauna and steam room option, but I like the fact that I am comfortable here whether there are 20 people around, or no one at all. As far as memberships go, I also work for a company that is a membership based business. A lot of times people complain and speak negatively on a business just because they do not agree with policies or do not understand the contract they signed in the first place. But the rates are reasonable and I like being able to access this gym at anytime of day without having to drive all the way to Fairfield. Jim the owner and Aaron who works there are two of the sweetest, knowledgeable, and helpful guys that I have ever come across at any gym. read more

Wosrt experience I've ever had with a gym horrible management called to cancel in April Manager did not get back to me till almost a week later witch made it to late to cancel told I wanted to cancel said she was going to send me an email that she never did got charged till this month of July.... Horrible I really recommend Excel fitness no contract month to month 24 hrs also and only $24 a month not this crap of $41 with contract fuck them..... This anytime fitness is very low key and not very busy, which helps with being able to stick to your routines with your desired machine or weights. The staff keeps it clean and always inviting with various fitness options and multiple classes offered. Great place to work out. The only downfalls for me would be; mirror placement for form training is probably in the bottom 10 and the fact that there are no shampoo or body wash applicators offered in the shower room really makes this place a weekend gym rather than "anytime" gym. When I'm on the go I prefer to carry less than I have to to complete a workout then get to work. One more negative would be the water from the fountains really has a metal flavor that makes me nautious. read more

Don't sign a contract with these people. Some years ago, I had a contract but when it was about to expire, they wouldn't take notice that I was trying to get out. They kept charging me late fees and having collectors call me. I don't even know why. Now, with COVID-19, the gym has been closed and they want to keep charging me when it's closed. They turned me over to a collection agency again. You can't reason with them at all. One friend had a contract with a trainer there, but when she tried to cancel because she had an operation that prevented exercising for months, they wouldn't let her out of that, either. A good gym. A bit small and never busy, which is a huge plus because you don't have to wait for stuff. No lockers, which is odd. Good location -- just go down the main drag to get there. You can always park right out front. Management was friendly to me. Only one squat rack, and it's kind of a non-heavy duty rack from the looks of it. Around 4-5 utility benches. Only 1 bench. 2 cable stations. A good supply of machines and cardio equipment. I just went for the free week because it was too expensive for the contract. read more

This club is open 24 hours a day. As a member you get a key that lets you in anytime, but keeps creeps out. There is also a emergency system if you get hurt and are they only person in the building, but you have to wear the necklace thing to use it. Prices are reasonable, but its a little small inside. I can't say that I've ever had to fight someone for a machine like I used to at Golds or 24 hour fitness. But I do feel like there is an energy lacking compared to that type of gym. This place is great if you feel self conscious by being looked at by everyone in the gym, because it's too small to fit that many people. The owner is extremely nice and you tend to see the same people there if you go at the same time everyday. In Dixon this is probably the best gym available. I'm not in love with this place, but it does the job and I can get my workouts done. I would try and call ahead to make an appt to sign up because it can be hard to see someone about sales. read more

There aren't many fitness choices when living in Dixon. Luckily, this gym is pretty good. I like that it is open 24 hours since I have recently forced myself to workout at 4 in the morning. I don't like a crowded gym and the size of this gym causes crowds to form quickly, so early morning workouts are a must. Even when it is crowded, there are enough machines for everyone. The bathrooms are always clean and the small staff is nice and friendly. The clientele is also very nice. The cardio equipment have tv's attached so you can watch your own show. The channel selection is decent (they have E! so I'm happy). read more

I used to belong to this club, and it was really nice when I was there. I liked that it was open 24 hours, and you had to have an electronic pass key to get it. They also had these security necklace things that you could keep with you if you were there in the early hours by yourself and you could activate it if need be and help would come (at least that is how I think it worked, I never had to activate one though). They have nice machinery, and even at its busiest there was still room for everyone. It was a good deal for the price, and the owner Jim is really nice. When I went to cancel my membership they did so and did not charge me for the next month even though it was only 5 days away from automatic withdrawal, which I thought was nice since many gyms require 30 days notice. I only left because I moved to West Sacramento, and joined a Zumba club there, so I did not need both memberships. read more
