Wow, had a car disaster with a breakdown on 680 near Concord. I was so stressed because I was on my way to a DJ gig. A friend brought his truck which saved my life and the gig, but I had to deal with the car still. I didn't know there was a four hour limit before a car gets towed..anyway, fetched my car out of the tow yard and a friend gave me a ride there. My car broke down on the way back (battery terminal issue) and my friend recommend Mike @ Anywhere Automotive nearby. Trusting my friend, we went over, it was late evening on a Sunday. Slipped the key into the mailbox and texted Mike the details of what happened. Long story short, Mike did great work, went over and above and got my car back to me the next day. INCREDIBLE turnaround and this was one of the COLDEST days of the year. It is not easy to work with your hands out in the cold. Huge respect to Mike. Gave him a tip on top of the great work he did. I had two car issues that both became a colossal failure point. I had a minor front end collision that moved my radiator. Over time, it was rubbing on a certain part of the chassis and a slow leak developed that took several months to form. Meanwhile, my battery terminal was corroding from a bad battery (I just replaced it) and I didn't take care of the corrosion cleanly. It came back and the lack of conductivity was killing the battery charge. So my car would lose power every 30 seconds without a jump. Mike replaced the radiator, replaced the battery terminal and even fixed hood a bit so it could close all the way. There was a gap previously due to the the small accident before. It was such an eyesore. He also cleared my codes and gave me pointers on future items to work on for the car. Just amazing honesty, competence and speed. 0 's I normally don't write reviews, but I feel it's important to warn others about what I've gone through with Anywhere Automotive and its owner, Michael Babcock. I paid $3,500 for repairs on my truck, and when it was returned, the engine was still misfiring and had been altered in unsafe ways. When I asked for documentation, Michael refused to give me a copy of a waiver he made me sign and became aggressive and unprofessional. I filed a formal complaint with the Bureau of Automotive Repair, which investigated and ruled in my favor, confirming that I was owed a refund. Unfortunately, even after that decision, he has not paid me back. I'm now having to take him to small claims court just to recover what's rightfully mine. This whole experience has been incredibly stressful and draining. No one deserves to be treated this way -- especially after paying thousands of dollars and trusting a business with their vehicle and safety. Please learn from my experience and avoid this shop. read more

Went here a second Time and like other reviews they upcharge me . I was suppose to receive a full service on transmission but Never did. I could tell because all the bolts on cross member under transmission were covered in grease they were never removed. I do not trust them any longer read more

I have a 1992 Toyota long bed pick up extra cab with a 3.0 V6 engine. I went to go get my smog check, but my PCV hose was broken. I also had a couple other minor air leaks I needed fixed. Normally I would just install the hose myself, and return to the smog station, but on the 3.0 V6 engine by Toyota, you are supposed to take off the entire intake manifold (yep the entire top of the engine) In order to replace that hose or the PCV valve. I got several quotes, from several reputable automotive places in town. The cheapest is $400. My brother Jack, recommended I go to Mike at anywhere automotive. I met my brother at anywhere automotive, just to get a quote. I was quoted under $95.including everything. I said go for it, and he said come back in an hour. I came back in an hour, and not only did they replace that hose, But they also replaced another cracked hose I had, Rerouted and re-organized the hoses and spark plug wires in my vehicle so they were all neat and in the proper places, and made my truck run perfectly. No more air/vacuum leaks. The price? Exactly what he quoted. No charge for the extra work I didn't ask for, no charge for the extra hoses, no extra charge for anything. They just did an excellent job, above and beyond what most mechanics would do. These guys really love cars. You can tell by the quality of the work. I couldn't be more impressed, or more thrilled by the price, the quality, and the professionalism. From now on, I will take all my vehicles to anywhere automotive. An honest mechanic. I have been bringing my vehicles to Mike and Chris since I moved to Concord and they both have always provided exceptional service!!!! Anytime I brought my work van to him, Wich I'm VERY VERY careful and protective over(Full of all my tools to make a living) Mike always made sure to put it inside and keep it locked up anytime they had to keep it overnight and I never even had to ask him to do so! Rip off!!! Rip off!!!! Mike charged me 1700 for a simple coolant flush and replacing a coolant resevoir. 8 months later the car started to have the same problem(over heating)?? So I brought the car to a different shop and they quoted me $700 for everything Mike did PLUS replacing my cooler system... no wonder Mike drives a Bentley because he is a con artist!!!!! read more

The maintenance plan on my BMW recently expired and rather than paying 3x the price for the service at the dealership, I gave this family owned business and opportunity and I am happy I did. Ran by a husband and wife, this business is extremely personable and considerate. They stayed open late so I could come pick up my car after work, and they called me the next day to follow up and double check how things went. I appreciate their thorough kind approach. The owner of Anywhere Automotive "Mike Babcock" did a few major repairs on my wife's Honda Civic without my consent and charged me when I picked up the car. I've had my cars worked on for years at Anywhere Automotive in Concord with the owner Mike Babcock. Back in November 2014 I brought my Honda Civic in for some warranty work (previously repaired problems worked on by Mike) and was expecting him to repair the problems such as power lock issue, leaking oil pan (3rd attempt to repair) and squeaky suspension near front driver side wheel. After more than 2 weeks and me calling all the time, he finally said the car is ready to go and had fixed the problems. I came to the shop and he proceeded to tell me all the work he had done on the car (without my consent) and handed me paperwork and bill for over $1,000. I was shocked and very disappointed that he wouldn't back down on the price on the work I hadn't given permission to work on. After an hour of discussing with Mike, I reluctantly gave him my credit card to charge the card so I could get my car back and leave. I knew I would fight this other ways than arguing with Mike. I reported this to my credit card company and had the B.A.R. (Bureau of Automotive Repair) do a comprehensive investigation. The B.A.R. rep told me they issued 5 citations of wrong doing to Mike/Anywhere Automotive in this case and explained the problems to Mike. The B.A.R. rep said after multiple conversations that he felt like Mike Babcock took advantage of me since I had gone to their repair facility for years and Mike assumed I would approve the work done without my consent. Mike admitted this honestly to the BAR rep and said he probably should have gotten permission from me before doing the work. After all he had always called me on needed work in the past. **Mike hasn't even tried to contact me to resolve this problem. I waited a while before deciding to write a review just to be sure the work I had done here actually fixed the issues I was having with my car. Weeks later, I have had no check engine lights and no flare ups like I was experiencing so frequently before. Mike was very kind and personable, and even recommended another shop in the area for my exhaust. He and his crew also went out of their way to lift up my car and check for other damage and gave me pointers on what I could fix myself. I live off of Oak Grove Road and I've had multiple cars throughout the past several years that were I wouldn't say beaters but they were kind of junkers around the $6000 range and of course you know when you buy cars like that they're always going to need work I had a Ford focus that had a blown gasket and a radiator hose that went bad then the radiator went bad and so forth Mike is a great mechanic he is very honest he does great work and he knows how to work with people who have Limited budgets he does great work every time I come to visit him for a repair he's always got some hot rod or custom truck being worked on is all American I highly recommend this guy while his shop isn't the cleanest in the world because it's filled with tools and what not but let's be honest it's a shop ,mechanic shop. A damn good one at that and his customer service is wonderful he'll even take you back to your house if you have to drop your car off for the day and he even goes the extra mile like for instants when I was chasing a tornado and long story short I'm back in California I'm on vacation I needed my rear brakes redone and he was more than happy to do it And a wonderful deal but while he's working on my brakes he took my tires off he noticed that there was a bunch of mud stuck up on top of my gas tank and in my chassis instead of charging me he just went ahead and cleaned out the whole entire chassis of the truck just to clean it off at his expense he's a good guy he knows what he's doing he loves working on cars he works hard read more

Mike the owner is just the worst. If I could I'd give him and his business zero stars. What started on 4-2-17 as a simple power window repair never happened after almost 8 weeks. He charged me for the part and ordered it. I'd pay for the install after it was installed. Some two weeks went by and I called him. Mike said that he wasn't sure if the part had arrived (even though) at the first visit he said that it would only take 4 days at the most. He would call me back to confirm that it had arrived. Then nothing for another week or so until he called me back asking to find out what side of the vehicle it was for as "he couldn't read his notes from the sales order". I told him that it was for the driver's side and again he said that he'd call me back to set up an appointment - which never came. So I called him up another 10 or so days later to ask for a refund. He apologized profusely saying that he was busy and that he forgot, but that the part was there and that all he needed to do was install it. He said that he'd give me a free oil change for the trouble that I had with his business going back a full month. I dropped it off and a few hours later he calls, apologizes, and says that it's the wrong part. So he needs to order the correct part, and he'll call me when it arrives. So it can finally get installed some six weeks after ordering it. I never got the call from Mike. Apparently Mike believes that customers are supposed to randomly call up to ask if the part has arrived and then have the customer inquire about when they can drop their vehicle off to get the part installed. After another two weeks I called up and asked for a refund. The same scenario that happened in April was now going on in late May. He expected me to call up and show up without an appointment to get the part installed. I never got the oil change that he said that he would do when during the attempted install in early May. To get the refund on my card he had to ask me again for my card number since he couldn't read his notes from the original sales order on 4-2-17. read more

Very unsatisfied. Had a coolant leak. First they changed out my heat exchanger to the tune of $1,200.00. Then told me my cylinder head was cracked. They repaired it and told me it would be $2,000. I went to pick it up and the bill was $2,300. It seemed to fix the problem. They also charged me for an oil change. 3,000 miles later I went to Oil Changers as usual. They told me the oil had not been changed from before the repair had been made, and that my oil had antifreeze in it and was completely compromised. When I found this out I confronted the serviceman at Anywhere Auto and his response was just indifferent to my concerns. He did not even apologize. Had taken my cars here before and was very happy but now I cannot return. There might have been an ownership change. read more

Took my 99 Yukon there, I knew it needed work, I used to do all my own/been wrenching for years but got in a work accident a year ago/on crutches etc - my gf dropped it off, they gave her a ride back, and delivered it when work was complete!!! His wife is a DOLL (didn't get to meet her but spoke to her a few times) . Mike COMPLETELY told me all it needed, gave me options to delay some work, and was EXTREMELY accurate in his estimate, he and his shop also REPAIR parts(not just a parts swapper, he personally picked up the part) and saved me a good bit of money. He also pointed out mistakes a former shop did (yes I know what shop in Concord). No more oil leaks, truck drives like brand new at 123K miles. I will go back AND send them business!! read more

He finds what is wrong quickly and if parts are needed he always finds the best deal to help keep the cost low and in your budget. When I get my car back it is fixed and the engine is always cleaned. I originally found this repair shop on Yelp about 3 years ago when I was looking for a good local repair shop. I was tired of paying dealer prices and I was looking for a good local mechanic. My car was actually towed in because of a coolant leak. I had called several repair shops before deciding on which shop to have my car towed to and decided on this shop because I really liked how the owner Mike Babcock talked to me over the phone. Since then, this shop has kept my car in tip top shape and allowed me to extend the life of my car. They now do all of my service. I was formerly an automotive mechanic myself so I am pretty discerning when it comes to hiring people to work on my vehicles and I ask a lot of questions and I understand the business. The owner Mike Babcock always explains everything and is a very good diagnostician (that is, he knows how to pin point problems without playing hit and miss with your wallet). He is also a really nice and caring person and their rates are reasonable and the quality is excellent, and they stand behind their work. I also like this shop because the owner has been in the auto repair business for over 30 years, and so he really knows cars, and he is also an auto enthusiast and is passionate about cars. This is the kind of person you want working on your car. Just recently I had a problem with oil leaks and thought I was going to have to sell my car because I thought it would be too expensive to fix. I just have to give a shout out to Mike and his crew. They have done great work for me before, But just yesterday, my fuel line started leaking gas. I could smell it and called them right away. Mike got me in there this a.m. and within an hour I was back on the road. They replaced all of the old fuel lines and charged a reasonable fee for the work they did. I brought my car here to fix it, I received a quote of $440 so I told them to go ahead with the repairs. They called me a day later and told me it would be an additionl $200 and by the time I came to pick up the car it was $840...I was pissed so after a discussion they lowered it to $775. I brought my car back two additioonal times and after all this, they still have not fixed the problem!
