Had a late night main sewer line clog. Called a number of places that were very unhelpful. Then called Apache Plumbing. He was super helpful - told me he could come out first thing the next day and as long as I didn't run a load of laundry etc it was fine to leave things as they were overnight. He texted the next morning he was on his way. Arrived on time. Quickly and efficiently fixed the problem and gave me some guidance on other plumping jobs I had been thinking about doing. August 17, 2023 I called Tony yesterday, he arrived at our home at 11:30 a.m. as promised. Four problems: 1. Stopped bathroom sink not draining. 2. New bathroom sink faucet installation 3. Commode base unstable 4. Leaking dishwasher Tony snaked the bathroom sink pipes (there were roots) and the sink is now draining properly. He removed the old faucet, which had rusted solid and needed to be cut. He installed the new faucet after having to widen the holes in the sink top. He then moved onto the unstable commode. He reset the toilet commode so it no longer moves and re-caulked the base. Tony diagnosed the dishwasher leak and told me where I could get the part (door seal) to fix it. I tried to be very brief in my description of Tony's work. However, some of it was very difficult, yet he continued working each problem until he found a solution. Tony is the best. What a time to have a kitchen faucet leak, the week of Thanksgiving! Being my handy self I attempted to replace and repair everything only to find I was in over my head. Got a call from my tenant that the kitchen sink was totally backed up and no longer functional. Tenant offered to fix the problem himself and my immediate reaction was "no way...this is a job for a professional." I jumped on Yelp and began making calls. Handymen and plumbers alike were booked, still out of town from the holidays, or simply wouldn't give me any cost/diagnostic info over the phone. Been a homeowner for about 4 months now and through some googling discovered I had a clogged main sewer line on Monday. Called a couple places with no response or openings and got put on stand by for one. I found AK Plumbing and they were there about an hour after I called. I got asked about a clean out and I had zero clue where it was located. There was nothing visible in front of the house. Luckily I live in a development with similar houses and Tony looked where clean outs were on other house. He searched and dug, not giving up for a good 15-20 mins to find it- saving me money (since if he didn't find one, he would have had to take the toilet off). After locating the clean out, he successfully removed the clog (those dang "flushable" wet wipes) and came back in to ensure everything was back to normal operations. So I don't write reviews on Yelp, but after dealing with Tony I had to share how amazing he was. I was having issues with my water heater and Tony was responsive and helpful throughout my time in need. I was getting ready to replace the entire unit, but Tony provided me guidance and some helpful tips before we had to resort to replacing the unit. Tony from AK Plumbing comes to the rescue any time I think I can do my own plumbing repairs and eff them up. I called and he was here within 30 minutes. He quoted me the rate over the phone and also gave me some things I could try to do on my own to fix it without having to have him come out (and save me the $150). I mean, who does that?!? He fixed the issue in 5 minutes and then asked if I had anything else that needed looking at because he felt bad charging me the $150 when it was so quickly solved. He checked out an issue with my downstairs toilet, fixed that too and all for the price he quoted.Less than an hour later, he was out the door to rescue the next person with a plumbing issue. Andy and Tony are as good as it gets!!! Excellent service, prompt responses, great workmanship and just great guys. We've been relying on them for all of our plumbing needs since 2013 or 2014. In the years we've used their services, they have: 1. Replaced our main drain line under the kitchen (a huge project that involved crawling under our raised foundation) 2. Came out at 8 am on a Saturday morning to fix a geyser in our backyard after a water line broke (we were flying out of state that day at 11 am and they came out specially so we didn't have to worry!) 3. Just had the pleasure of working with Tony to have a new water heater installed. He was extremely quick and professional. The whole process was quick and streamlined. I called him last night at 8:30pm and had my new water heater installed and running by 2:00 pm today. He kept me updated though out the process so I always knew what was going on. They've helped me out three times now and all three have been 100% effective. The case that all should know was when my pilot light went out on my water heater. Andy was on vacation but still took my call. He sent me on to Tony for a service call who simply said text me some pictures....next he called me back and walked me through relighting it and bingo, it was all fixed. He did this for free, in the evening (around dinner time), and solved my problem. They've also fixed a leaky pipe, installed a garbage disposal, and a new toilet. This is a very overdue review, but since I just posted my first review for another wonderful company, I decided to continue the love. About 2 years ago my sewer backed up. I had sewage backed in to my backyard and up in to my shower and bathtub. It was disgusting. I called AK plumbing and they came out promptly. Andy and Tony spent a lot of time trying to clear the backup but were having trouble. At the time (and very well may still be), their guarantee was if they can't fix it, they won't charge you. Come to find out , they found the problem was at the county line and the blockage was out of their hands. Because they couldn't fix it they said they weren't going to charge me. I tried to pay them, and they refused. I was floored. Fast forward to the beginning of the year. My parents had a backup in their kitchen sink. They asked me if I knew a good plumber. HECK YA I do!! Gave them their number and they were out to the house later that day. They fixed my parent's backup in no time. My parent's were grateful and impressed with their professionalism. AK plumbing is one of the best in the area. There was a clog in the sewer drain, and as a result, our toilet was clogged and started flooding. Tony showed up in 30 min. When he couldn't find the sewer opening anywhere outside my house, he went around in the neighborhood checking with neighbors who owned similar house. No one knew either. Overdue on doing this review. About a month ago I put a screw through a waterline while putting up some closet shelving. I called Tony and he got right back to me. After talking it through, he realized I was capable of fixing it myself. I am in construction but I'm not very good at soldering pipe. Instead of charging me to come out on an emergency call on a Saturday, he gave me a run down on how to fix it without soldering but still doing it right. It might sound like he was trying not to come out, but he was right on that I was capable and I was able to fix it for less than $20. I had AK Plumbing come to my house on July 22, 2018 to figure out why my toilet was not flushing all the way. He snaked it and couldn't find anything. Then he took the toilet out and flipped it over in the bathtub and snaked it there. He couldn't find anything. He put it back and it started flashing. He didn't know why. What he did not tell me is that the wax ring on the bottom of the toilet needed to be replaced because you're not supposed to remove a toilet that has a wax ring and not replace it. It tends to leak after that. We are in November now. The toilet again started experiencing problems in October. It wouldn't stop flushing. I called a different guy in to take a look at it and when he heard that AK Plumbing took the toilet out and did not replace the seal, he grew concerned. He then removed the toilet and saw that the seal was not sealed properly saw there was leakage. I would not recommend AK plumbing to anyone. He didn't know what was wrong with my toilet when he came and did not replace it properly which caused even further damage. I don't trust people who don't tell me things like a wax seal needs to be replaced every time you remove toilet. I would think that is something that a professional plumber would know and tell me when he was here removing he toilet. He charged me $225 for his work. It was a waste. I could purchased two new toilets for that price. read more

I can't believe this company got 5 stars! My review was about a job they did 10/2014. They charged $1800 for fixing a tiny nail hole on the gas tubing (see photo) after it was located by another guy (whom AK referred and whom we paid separately). The leak was behind wall about 3' from floor with open access. We hired another company earlier who could not locate the leak before I called AK, and by the time the leak was located, PG&E had shut off the gas for 4 days (it's PG&E policy if they were called to a site twice- once by tenant and one by me) which seriously affected tenants' life. AK saw the situation clearly, took advantage of it. The 2nd day after the leak was detected, I met them on the property and they asked for $1800 to just seal the leak (they closed the hole with a metal nut). I did not want to delay further so I went with them. For a project above certain $ amount, we had also to pay city for paperwork required. Not a decent company to me. read more
