You were supposed to come between 3-5pm, I texted and called both of your numbers around 4:45pm to see when you would arrive but no response. I still went to the rental house and wait until 5:30pm but nobody came, so I went home for dinner. Then you guys called me back at 5:45pm saying somebody would come in about 30 minutes. and I had to skip dinner & drove back to meet you. I always hired Pocket Plumbing in the past couple of years for my house and rentals because Charles was great and his price was reasonable, but it is no longer the case. I just hired them to repair a leak in my bathtub faucet. The person came an hour after the time window without letting me know in advance, and he charged me $235 labor for a job that took him less than 30 minutes. Charles came out to work on stopping leaks from my newly installed faucets. My nephew, who is a contractor, installed a new bathroom sink and faucet set but there was a persistent leak and he was very busy with his business. I called Pocket Plumbing and they were able to schedule me for a few days down the line. Charles figured that one of the old water supply line parts had failed so he replaced them and the water flowed smoothly again. A few days later we noticed a small leak under the sink so Charles returned to discover that the faucet aerator had come loose and caused the water to backflow through the downspout. Problem solved. Got a quote for a toilet installation. Very good pricing. Charles arrived on time and was in and out in about an hour. Wore booties inside our home and was friendly/interactive with our toddler. Pocket plumbing recently installed a toilet which was the second and much easier job they have recently performed for us. We live in a 120 year iold midtown house which presented unique and very time consuming problems (4 hours for toilet installation). On the basis of these two experiences I unreservedly give 5 stars to this company. I absolutely did not see this coming, and still do not understand what happened. This seemed like such as an easy thing to take care of, his response was totally unexpected. And he rewrote history in his post: 1. Charles most definitely NEVER said that he would be happy to come back and fix the mistake during the call in question, otherwise it would not have come to this. He did say in something like that two years ago right after the install when I first called about the hot/cold issue. Towards the end of the recent unfortunate conversation he did say he could send someone out to "check out" the situation (he didn't say fix it) , in the same breath as he adamantly denied any responsibility and again faulted me for taking so long to call him. From the tone and the context I was confused whether this would be a new service call (which it sounded like) for a fee, or not. I was not able to clarify this with him. 2. After I reminded him that he had needed to move the washer, he did not deny that until in his post here. 3. He never really asked me why it took so long for me to call a second time about this issue, it was more like repeated accusations and blame to that effect, sometimes combined with sentences about people taking advantage of him and people not take any responsibility....and how I wasn't taking any responsibility...it really did not make sense to me. Why in the world was he so hyper focused on how long it took me to call him a second time about this? Why was he so angry? The warranty was for 6 years parts/3 years labor even if isn't technically labor on the hot water heater itself. And when I tried to explain (the cussword sentence) that life had been extremely difficult time-consuming and overwhelming during that time, he steamrolled over that and still continued to talk about how long it had been. 4. When I called about the issue and spoke with Alisa about 3 weeks ago now, I went over/inquired about other work that he could potentially do during the same visit. He never responded to my inquiries about other plumbing jobs either. 5. I would not describe him as 'very pleasant' even from the beginning of the conversation. Something seemed off, I wondered if he had had a rough day. 6. I said one cuss word in one very short crabby sentence trying to explain why I had taken so long to call him again (I had called him right away after the install) about the issue. He immediately got very very upset that I had said a cussword. I did not say any cusswords after that. I was not able to clarify things, explain things, nor apologize for my one cranky sentence because he refused to allow me to talk at all. read more

Charles came out and performed an initial repair on my tub drain, which had a disintegrated putty seal around it. That didn't seem to resolve the leaking that was observed by way of water staining on the first floor ceiling. I cut an access hole in an adjoining wall to get a better look at the valve plumbing and saw exactly where the leak was at. I had Charles come back out 2 days later, and he was able to remove the valve and repair the broken solder joint. He combined the two operations under a single price which was very affordable. I commend him for his dedication to seeing the job through to completion, and for giving me a break on the individual repair jobs. Will definitely contact in the future if I have any more plumbing needs. read more

I had no idea that he was the owner until the end of the appointment when I asked if I could request him specifically when we needed work done in the future.
