I remember attending their first location opening and loving their gorilla toast and creative coffee creations. You can imagine how excited I was to see another pop up so close to me! This new shop is more of a stop and go with some outdoor seating in front. I really like how they kept to their modern, dark, New York-esque interior decor. Right when I walked in, I was greeted by probably the sweetest and friendliest staff. Looking over their menu, it seems that they added some new items. The Black Sugar Hojicha caught my eye so I knew I had to get that one. I also got the Incredible Ape Matcha Latte and the Crookie. The Incredible Ape Matcha Latte was my favorite item here. The banana cream on top of the matcha was so good! It wasn't overly sweet with a nice subtle banana flavor, and the matcha was well balanced and not bitter. The crookie was decadent and not to mention, gigantic! I've had a handful of hojicha (black sesame tea) drinks in the past, but it seems like the one here has a very strong coffee flavor, or maybe my drink was mixed up. In retrospect, I probably should have tried the drink before getting home so I could have asked them about it. Overall, I'm super glad to see them opening up a second location. One of my favorite local coffee spots! My favorite drink here is the Monkey Business! I had tried it during the soft opening then again after the grand opening, and the quality of the banana cream in it tastes like it's gotten dramatically better? Might be just me, but either way, I'm here for it!! The banana cream adds a freshness to the drink which balances out the richness of the coffee and sweetness of the honey. Can't get enough! Saw this place online and had to come. This is my second attempt at coming to this coffee shop. The first time I arrived after it closed. I got the blueberry Matcha and the pistachio croissant. The Matcha was not bad, but personally a little overhyped I liked the croissant, but would've preferred it just slightly warmed, cause it was a little on the tougher side. I've really enjoyed all of their coffee drinks -- they're consistently good. The matcha just isn't my favorite, but that's personal preference. Service is always quick and efficient, which I appreciate. It's more of a grab-and-go spot with pretty minimal interaction rather than somewhere you'd hang out and linger-- but if you want a solid coffee, it definitely does the job when you're on the go. Wow I liked this place so much I went here twice in one day! I first stopped by in the morning to try the Incredible Ape Matcha Latte (matcha with a banana cold foam drizzled with honey), and it was delicious! They use real bananas in the cold foam, and the texture of the foam is thicker in general. So good! The second time I came back was in the afternoon with my partner and he also got the Incredible Ape. I got the Sunset Ape (strawberry milk with matcha cold foam) and we loved that the cold foam held onto the matcha flavor strongly while the strawberry milk was a nice complement to the matcha flavors. I come probably once a week and what keeps me coming back is their monkey business latte and incredible ape matcha. Both are not too sweet and I love the banana flavor in both drinks. If you're looking to get your drink fast, I'd recommend this location because the orange location gets pretty busy, but it only has outdoor seating, so if you're looking to study, do work, or hang out I would recommend the one in orange. read more

If you haven't tried the monkey business latte you are missing out. The banana cream is not syrup-y but tastes like actual bananas and it mixes perfectly with the honey latte. The cinnamon isn't too strong and the drink is not too sweet. Both of their locations are delicious. read more

I've been dreaming about this monkey business latte and banana brûlée matcha since I've had it!! I saw this business pop up on my FYP on IG but it was for the orange location. With a little research I found they had one about 5 minutes away from my house! The matcha was flavorful without being super grassy and overpowering the drink. It was smooth and perfectly sweetened. Topped with the banana creme, and the brûléed sugar, and that fresh banana slice, the drink had depth, flavor, freshness and comfort. The monkey business latte was the same concept except delicious espresso, a bit of cinnamon, honey and a banana chip. DELICIOUS! I loved these drinks because they weren't overly milky, and not overly sweet either. The customer service was also great, the guys helping me greeted me with a smile, and were very helpful with their suggestions. It's a small but cute place and there's ample seating outside. I finally stopped by Ape Coffee and tried their Monkey Business Latte: honey, banana cream top, and a banana chip garnish. It was such a fun, creative drink! The banana cream topping was so addicting, I can see why it's one of their signature touches. Their drinks definitely lean on the sweeter side, so I asked for mine to be made less sweet. Even then, it was still pretty sweet for my taste, but I just treated it like a dessert, and honestly, I really enjoyed it! There's no indoor seating, so it's more of a grab-and-go spot. They also sell some coffee merch and have a few sandwiches available, but I wouldn't recommend coming here for a full meal. That said, if you're looking for a unique drink to take on the go, this is the spot. There a couple seats outside though! I'll definitely be back to try more of their creative lattes! read more

DISCLAIMER: I understand that changing the recipe to accommodate for my allergies will change the intended flavor of the drink and so I genuinely do not intend on being mean to the nice workers there. Because the sweet cream topping is made using heavy cream & can't be substituted, I had to order without it from the SNOW MONKEY. Upon taking my first few sips, I was disappointed; The drink didn't taste of brown sugar or cinnamon, and barely of coffee. It mostly tasted like really watered-down, iced oat milk. I figured maybe more of the drink would become stronger as I got to the bottom but it never did. I'm willing to give it another try in the future because of the good service & communication with the baristas but I don't think this drink was worth the $6.73. **SERVICE** The barista wearing the black USC hoodie at the register was actually very kind! I asked him if I could have anything on the signature menu and he informed me that there wasn't anything to accommodate for my dairy allergies on it. I told him I'd need a moment to see if there was something other than the signature drinks and he let me know they have milk alternatives like oat milk. When I found the SNOW MONKEY drink, he made sure to write in the notes for me, "Allergic to dairy!!". It was unfortunate that there were only two baristas that day because a line queued up shortly after I ordered (08:45 AM) and couples wanted their pre-ordered bouquets of flowers. **AMBIANCE** It's just small and it was rainy the week I rolled through, so I'm assuming seating wasn't organized as it normally is. I'm disappointed in Ape coffee. It was my go to for a few months straight every day. The last five times I went I noticed some changes that made me stop going and then decided to give it a try because I was in the area. Sure enough I'm disappointed again. As a regular customer, I noticed that they're topping off the cups with ice that's a new thing. My friend had about three sips and half his drink was gone. For my drink, I love Matcha. I had to say light ice this time after having issues with the new serving size formula they're doing now. My drink taste flavored milk. Almost look like food coloring to make it look like matcha. This new formula they switch to is not the correct ratio. Whoever decided this was the move, as a regular this is a NO. I don't always write reviews, but I just feel like they took my money again. ape is pretty solid but is a different kind of matcha from what i'm used to... it's hard to describe but their matcha is really refreshing? i can't tell if i like it or not lol i got their banana matcha latte and the banana cream was yummy, pretty solid but i will say they put way too much honey at the top so when i mixed it the drink was too sweet and tasted too much like honey for me i also had their tuna melt because they do a little lunch deal where you can get a sandwich (tuna melt or egg salad) and drink which was nice! as a student, its a really good deal so i'd come back for that :) the sandwich itself, was just okay but i still enjoyed it -- i personally preferred the egg salad over the tuna melt study wise, they don't have any seats inside because the shop itself is small but they do offer seating outside so i would only study here on a day with nice weather read more
