One of my favorite matchas in SoCal... top 10 for sure!!! It's not cheap, but it's worth it. Place is in a random strip mall, and it's a tiny spot with a few outdoor tables, but the employees are always great!! They will bring your drink out to you if you're outside. I love that. Coffee is also solid but I definitely come here for the matcha.

What a hidden gem! The espresso flavor is outstanding. I came for the first time a couple of days ago and had to come back again today. I've had the brown sugar iced latte and the monkey business iced specialty drink with a warmed Almond croissant. Absolutely delicious. The croissant is nice and crisp and flaky on the outside and soft and flavorful on the inside. While ai was there, a staff member offered a sample taste of a ham and cheese croissant dish they were testing out. That also was delicious! I hope they bring it to the menu. The location itself is a smaller interior with seating outside on a covered portico outside the shop. There is a little refrigerated section for grab and go options as well as some yummy sounding food items on the lunch menu. The staff was very friendly both times I went. Highly recommend checking them out!

Service was great and we found seating right away. However, there's not a ton of seats available. Just 4 tables I believe. I got a matcha latte and an egg sandwich. The matcha latte was made with ceremonial matcha, whole milk, and had a banana cream top. Very good drink. The sandwich was good but I wouldn't go out of my way to order it again. Overall, I would be back for the drinks and maybe to try a pastry.

Ape coffee is something I crave on a regular basis and it's because of their Monkey Business drink. This location is small, with to-go ordering only. Parking is much easier and the wait is shorter compared to their Orange location. The inside is sleek and tiny with really friendly service. Monkey Business 10/10 - perhaps one of the best banana coffees I've tried. The banana foam complements the coffee so well, with real banana flavor and a nice drizzle of caramel. This drink is pretty sweet but you can still taste the espresso. Highly recommend checking out Ape Coffee. Their matcha is also great as well. Overall great beverages all around.

First time trying Ape Coffee after following them for a long time, and I honestly didn't even know about this Placentia location -- a perfect grab-and-go spot. I ordered the Incredible Ape Matcha with oat milk, and it did not disappoint. Taste-wise: very banana-forward, super fresh, and not overly sweet -- just the right amount. Balanced, smooth, and easy to drink without feeling heavy or sugary. The space itself is very small, so it's definitely more of a to-go location. They do have three tables outside with six chairs total (two per table) if you want to enjoy your drink there. Service was super friendly and accommodating, especially as a first-time customer. I placed my order and had my drink in about 6 minutes, which is perfect if you're on the move. Overall, great vibes, quick service, and a solid stop if you're in the area for quality matcha or coffee. Will definitely be back.

I called ahead to see if they served decaf coffee drinks, and they responded with yes they're able to serve all their drinks decaf. But when I go in they weren't able to serve most of the suggested drinks decaf. And then when asked to just have an iced decaf espresso with the same toppings as the cloud ape, they said they couldn't add that because it was a seasonal drink (it was just sweet cream with cacao powder). Overall the space was small and dark and the experience was not very pleasant.

Went to ace hardware and I saw ape coffee in the shopping mall, but I'd go in and try it. I ordered a hot latte with half-and-half. Their service girls were very friendly and took my order promptly. It is a very small place with no seating inside only outside the latte was very good. I'll be back.

But my bestie has never tried this place so we finally got to go together yay. Love this cute coffee shop, the vibe is nice the employee's are friendly. Seriously never was interested in banana coffee until I had it at Ape Coffee. I have been here a few times now. Their Monkey Business ALWAYS consistent. There was one time when I returned a 2nd time on the same day for more. My nephew kept praising the strawberry matcha. He really liked it. Recently, he even asked me to return to get it. So of course I took him lol They had cute merch for sale as well. I wanted to get it, but they only had shorts. I wanted sweatpants...boohoo. There was a discount as well. Friendly staff and creative drinks! I ordered the Tiramisu Latte and Monkey Business -- both were delicious. The Tiramisu Latte was sweet, creamy, and perfectly balanced. Monkey Business is a latte topped with banana cream foam, which added a fresh and unique twist that I really enjoyed. The shop is very small, so there's no indoor seating, but they do have a couple of tables right outside. We didn't have to wait long for our drinks, which was a plus. I'm excited to come back and try more from their fun and unique menu!

This coffee shop is in a relatively large plaza surrounded by other businesses. They have some outdoor seating, no indoor seating as the shop is pretty quaint. The tiramisu latte with almond milk has been by favorite thus far, but you really can't go wrong with the drinks. I've also had the snow monkey, cookie butter latte, chai and a simple vanilla iced latte. Their avocado toast was not the best, likely would not get again. The staff has been polite every visit, but the service does take a bit longer than expected most of the time.

Very cozy and clean coffee shop with outdoor seating only. Customer service was excellent! Their menu is displayed on a tablet that you have to scroll to see the items, which makes it a bit different than other coffee shops where the menu is up in a wall or next to the register. I ordered the banana latte (can't remember the exact name) but that latte was so delicious!! I would not mind coming back here for this drink and try other drinks! I was left impressed!!

Came in after a shopping day desperate for coffee. I've never been there before but the two girls working were incredibly helpful. They were telling me their recommendations and showing me their new winter menu. I was debating between the tiramisu latte or the cookie butter latte. one girl said that the tiramisu was better. good thing i listened! this coffee was SO good. not too sweet! perfect amount of creaminess and the coffee flavor was divine. not bitter or burnt tasting at all. i will definitely be back! i think i found my new coffee place. read more

The monkey business is the business. The perfect combination of banana and coffee. I really enjoyed it. I also tried their hibiscus refresher and it was good because it wasn't overly sweet. The cashiers were also really helpful in helping decide what drinks to get with their insight on the drinks. I will definitely be back. read more

Stopped by for the first time 03/26 because our friend recommended them having great tasting coffee. My fiancé and I both ordered the "Monkey business" and my goodness. The taste was exquisite and rich. Definitely a treat worth trying !! The shop is small and cozy which makes it even better! We ordered the Monkey Business (oatmilk sub), and it was one of the best cream tops I've ever had! The authentic banana flavor with a dash of cinnamon was buttah. I don't like sweet drinks, and I felt mine was perfectly balanced. Most importantly, it gave me the jolt I needed to make it through a long night. The cafe is tiny with zero indoor seating, but there are bistro tables outside. The baristas were friendly and welcoming, and I felt $6.50 for a fantastic coffee was reasonable. read more

It's my second time trying Ape Coffee but first time at this location and I'm giving same positive review. I was greeted once walked in and cashier was very polite. This time I ordered the Mexican Howler Latte and it was very good even my daughter liked it. This location is way smaller than the other but nice and clean. Decided to try this place after a pilates class and needless to say, it definitely hit the spot! The shop itself is very small with no seating inside, so I wouldn't say it's ideal for studying, however the banana latte I got was amazing. It came out pretty fast too. The banana crème was so flavorful, yet not too sweet or overpowering. I got my drink less sweet and it was perfect for me. Definitely will be back to explore the menu! read more

This location is a lot smaller and has outdoor seating. I liked their banana matcha it had a good blend of both banana and matcha. Compared to the other location, I would probably chose the other one since there is indoor seating and better to do work/meet with others. Overall all their drinks are solid. read more

Great service but the prices are genuinely crazy. 8 dollars for a matcha is a little ridiculous but it was decent. The service was nice and the place was very quaint and aesthetically pleasing. However for an eight dollar matcha when selecting the less ice option only filling the cup halfway is genuinely comical. I understand that they say that it is for consistency but still charging 6-8 dollars for a matcha that is filled halfway is still crazyyyy! read more

I have been here several times now. I picked a couple of drinks I didn't love as much as others but I've found several drinks that I do love! (Like anything else in life) All of my drinks were great quality though. Everyone here has always been helpful and as quick as possible while maintaining great quality. I love the Ape logo! Very cool. They accept Apple Pay. Some things on the interior need some paint touch up's from sorting the space out but overall the space functions well for rolling in and rolling out. They have some merch, a small water station and some food items available. There is some minimal seating out front. This isn't a hang and work type space. I'm rooting for these guys! I was in the Placentia area and decided to give this Ape location a try. It's definitely a much smaller spot, but they were quick! I ordered the Incredible Ape Matcha from the kiosk, and the drink came out fast. It was good and had a solid flavor but I have to say, the Orange location still hits the spot for me every time. I came across this cafe on Yelp and decided to try it. I thought the logo and the concept on the cafe was very cute. The service was absolutely wonderful. I asked her what she recommend for a sweet coffee and she recommended Monkey Business and personally I thought it was a perfect drink for me. I was hesitant at first because of the honey flavor but I trusted her recommendation and I'm so glad I did. I also ordered a breakfast sandwich, I originally wanted the bacon but they unfortunately ran out so I go the sausage breakfast sandwich. The sausage breakfast sandwich kind of reminded me of a mc ds breakfast sandwich (which I haven't had in forever) . The last item I ordered was the Brown Butter Choco-Banana Loaf and that was very good not too sweet and not too chocolatey. A couple things to keep in mind when going to this location is they do run of of items pretty fast, it is small, and they do have seating available outside. This coffee shop is tiny but conveniently located in a small strip mall. I ordered the matcha monkey business but was given the coffee version instead, which is fine. I get mistakes happen when new businesses get busy. First sip, the banana foam with cinnamon was heavenly. It's thick, lightly sweet, and not artificially flavored. Taking in a 2nd sip, I noticed a layer of unmixed syrup at the bottom, which for an $8 drink was mildly disappointing. I love supporting local coffee shops so I'll be back, hoping to try the matcha monkey business next time! read more

Can't go wrong here. Nice little spot with plenty of parking. Good music as you order and the place looks clean. The day we went my wife got a Cloud Ape and I got a Tiramisu Latte (espresso) as it can also be served with matcha instead of espresso. We also ordered a pecan monkey bread, which I highly suggest if you have a sweet tooth. But I also love to pair pastries with coffee.The baristas are always nice and welcoming. I think my only qualm is that the space isn't bigger. Would love to sit in an Ape Coffee shop and enjoy the vibes. Thanks Ape! read more

I love the coffee here, but giving a 2 star because I can never get it. This place is closed by the time of get off work. Why do you close at 4 I always end up going across the street for coffee after work. I got off early at 4:30 once when they had just opened just to find out they had closed at 4 what a shame because I would be here every day. read more

Wasn't too thrilled with this place, the vibes were very off when I walked in. The staff members were talking to each other and trying to be polite I waited for them to finish. No greeting or let us know when you're ready. I got the monkey business latte and it tasted ok. Kinda like when your pour hot coffee over not enough ice and it's just weird. Would not get again. I did get this banana bread chocolate thing and that was absolutely delicious. read more

I find myself constantly making my way back to this store because of the incredible ape matcha. I absolutely love how they have perfected this drink. spent $16 on two matcha lattes and both tasted like WATER. With so many coffee shops nearby and Ape having so much hype I had much higher expectations of Ape Placentia. The orange location is much better and has actual tasting latte's. Maybe I was a one off order, but still spending $16 on two drinks and BOTH tasting like oat milk and water with little matcha flavor was disappointing to say the least. read more

I was at the ACE store and saw little hidden gem in YL. I'm so glad I went in ordered the Ham Crescent sandwich and Americano. It was Perfect and WONDERFUL! I enjoyed the matcha cheesecake, garlic sea salt bread, and raspberry cruffin as well. I also grabbed an egg bacon bread and regular sea salt bread to-go for future breakfasts. Warmed up, these were great in the morning! To drink I had the Banana Pudding Matcha Latte which was not too sweet and yummy! Good matcha flavor and the banana pudding was creamy. Mixed together, it was good. I also enjoyed the crunchy bits in there as well as the real banana slices. I got it at the small size, but the portion was generous. It went well with the pastries. There's some inside seating and tables as well as a bathroom available. There is lots of free parking around the bakery. I went in the afternoon on a Sunday and it was still packed! I love how the bakers were constantly baking even in the afternoon, so they brought out fresh batches of their pastries. The Three Cheese Bagel, made with cheddar, cream cheese, and mozzarella, had good flavor but the texture was much too hard. We were dining in and had it warmed up, yet the bread was still tough and the cheese inside had already hardened. Service was fine, but nothing stood out. Overall, great selection and a nice space, but the pastries we tried were inconsistent.

We decided to pick up a couple of loaves of bread. We got one sourdough and one cinnamon brioche. We tried them both this morning. We made French toast with the brioche and made sourdough toast with butter and jam. Both were excellent. We were only going to buy the loaf of sourdough but the guy helping us told us it was buy one, get one free so we choose the brioche. What a deal! We don't know if this is their regular deal or it was for the holiday or what but we were thrilled. We don't live in OC but we're not too far so we can come visit our friends and pick up more bread when whenever we want. So happy we tried the bread. If you live in OC and want delicious bread I suggest you try them.

It's located by the 91 freeway in a shopping mall with plenty of parking. As I walked in I took in the vibrant interior, bright orange with lime green accents. I got a 70s retro vibe. I wanted to order some food, but the oven was being cleaned... so I opted for their cinnamon roll and strawberry matcha latte with nonfat milk. The cinnamon roll was yummy and the strawberry matcha was deliciously refreshing! They were the perfect treat for passing my exam!

The perfect amount of coffee & banana (tastes just like banana bread!). My friend got the banana matcha and said it was pretty good! The drinks came out fast as-well. The seasonal drink menu is definitely a must try. It's a huge building with lots of seating, the atmosphere is calm and great for working/studying. However, today's visit felt different. We ordered our usual strawberry coffee drinks but they weren't pink. When I asked the barista about it she said the syrup has changed. The drinks barely tasted like strawberry and we were disappointed. I immediately regretted upgrading my size to 20oz too. SO I looked up other recent yelp reviews, and I saw that someone posted a picture of their drink 17 hours ago and it was still pink. That makes me question what happened to our drinks.
