My husband and I purchased a washer/dryer set from Apex Appliances about three months ago. From the showroom to delivery and beyond, the entire experience was unpleasant and unprofessional. The delivery of the set was over an hour late, and we probably would have been forgotten about completely if I didn't call and complain multiple times. When we noticed issues with our washer in the first few days, it was worse than pulling teeth to get these people to come out and fix what was an obvious safety issue (and under warranty). We never received call-backs after many, many phone calls and promises, and got stood up twice. We finally had to threaten a BBB complaint for them to come out (they sure came out fast then!) Our set is okay. It's older, and was delivered linty and dirty, but it works. If we had to do it all over again we'd just pay the extra $500 for a brand new basic set. What really irks me is that before purchasing I did my due diligence and read reviews on Apex Appliance and was pleased with such rave reviews on InsiderPages.com. Google had more varied reviews, but still generally positive. However, I really should have been more diligent. If you look at the reviews on InsiderPages MANY of them are all written on the same day and are absolutely glowing. Should have been a big red flag for me. These reviews so grossly contradict my personal experience, I advise anyone considering Apex Appliances to think twice. read more

DO NOT BUY FROM APEX APPLIANCES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've filed complaints with the BBB and Attorney General against this company. I purchased a used washer and dryer set from the company. We had them installed last Friday. The guys that put them in put a few marks in our paint (we have pictures to confirm this), and looking back I should have known that was a sign of things to come. After we moved in on Saturday, my wife started a load of laundry to clean some of the blankets that we had used. Not only did the washer put marks on our comforter, it also leaked nasty yellow water onto the floor. We have pictures to confirm both of these. It then took 4 dryer cycles on high heat to get the comforter 90% dry. After 4 cycles we decided we had wasted enough electricity and just let it air dry. When we called on Saturday, even though she was clearly talking to the owner, was told that he didn't know the procedure and couldn't talk because he had "100-200 people in the store." He then hung up on her. I called the owner's personal cell phone (which he had given me) on Sunday and again was told "I have 100 customers in the store, you need to call tomorrow". I finally were able to get up with them on Monday and scheduled a time for them to be picked up. When they came, they told me that were going to have to pay a $90 restocking fee. I called the store manager and asked him why I was being charged a restocking fee when he delivered a broken product. He told me I had shown them it was actually broken. I told him that I would show the employees at my house and he told me if they could verify it was broken I would get a full refund. I had already stopped by his store and showed him pictures of how they marked up the walls moving the units in, and I let him know that I didn't trust them to fix the washer. At this point, he let me know that his employees claimed they didn't mark the walls. The washer and dryer were literally (and I actually mean literally) the first things that were moved into our house. We bought a brand new house and there were no marks on the wall when we did the final walk through with the builder. There was no way those marks were there before his guys installing our washer and dryer. I turned on the washer and showed his employees how it leaked. I also showed them the marks in put in my comforter. One of his employees confirmed that he saw where the washer had leaked and said they could bring a replacement set or give me a refund. They took the set out and I let them know I wanted a refund. I was told I would be contacted the next day about the refund. They did not contact me the next day. I tried calling them multiple times and left messages that were not returned. I finally got up with the owner 2 days after they picked up the appliances. He told me that I would still be charged the restocking fee even though I had been told multiple times that I would get a full refund if the items were shown that they were defective. He claimed his employees did not see a leak. You can start to see a pattern here. His employees put marks on my wall, but then claim they didn't. His employees saw my washer leak, and then claim they didn't. He was very rude with me on the phone and even hung up on me. His employees were extremely rude to my wife, and when she pointed out the marks they left while installing the appliances they told her they must have already been there. At this point I have not received any of my money back. I have still been charged full price for a washer and dryer set he told me is already back on his sales floor. In summary, they will lie to you, treat you like garbage, and keep your money. read more

I purchased a washer/dryer from them for $500 less than a month ago. The dryer did not work properly right after being delivered. They advertise as offering a 90 day warranty yet it took multiple phone calls and a threat to notify the BBB to get a service man out. It was fixed but now a part is missing from the dryer. They deny taking the part even though it was gone after the repair man came out. I would highly advise people to stay away from this company, they run a shady business. read more

STAY AWAY! I'm baffled at the positive experience of the other reviewers. Mr. Abraham, the owner, arrived an 1 hour and 15 minutes late without calling to say he was running behind. When he arrived, by himself, to install a refrigerator and dishwasher he was unable to complete the job and expected me help carry these very heavy appliances. So I guess I was paying him for me to do his job. When I explained that I have a disability and couldn't help, he promptly left the refrigerator in the foyer, along with a half gallon of spilled water and mud. Mr. Abraham also proceeded to over talk, verbally abuse, and in general act in a completely unprofessional and rude way. When my plumber came to install the drain for the dishwasher, it was discovered that what was delivered is unsafe due to missing REQUIRED components and now I will have to buy another one, NOT FROM APEX APPLIANCES, EVER! read more

Just want to echo what others have said. We bought a washer and dryer set from them, had a problem with the dryer, and it was extremely difficult to get them to come out and actually fix it. I would rather buy a set off Craigslist without a warranty for half the price than go with Apex Appliances, if I could do it again, since their warranty is worth nothing. read more

Apex Appliance is a terrible company!!!! I have just filed an official complaint with the BBB. I bought a dryer from them on 11/23/12. It never worked perfectly, but when it got a lot worse I called for maintenance, well within the 1 year warranty. They missed 3 service appointments, and I had to call multiple times to schedule each appointment. The woman at the front desk is the rudest most unprofessional person I have ever spoken to. When they finally showed up they requested a $50 service fee, which I agreed to pay as long as they could guarantee that if the fix didn't work, they wouldn't recharge me the $50. They agreed, but when it came time to pay they did not provide any sort of written service request with a price or guarantee of the work. Also, what they "fixed" was one of the first things I checked before calling to request service. So they wanted me to pay$50 for not fixing anything, which is why I wanted a guarantee of their work. When I called the front desk to ask for some sort of official paperwork, she denied my request (with much rude yelling), and then said she was going to "void" my warranty, which doesn't seem possible since it doesn't say anything about the company having the right to void in the warranty. This company is awful and should not be BBB approved. I have never experienced such terrible customer service. Never buy from them. read more

One of the reasons we purchased from apex was because of their 1year warranty. We have called almost everyday for weeks and no one from the company will pick up the phone or call us back. Finally, they sent someone out who barely spoke English and told us it would be weeks before the missing part would be in. After the part never came in and we couldn't get ahold of them, we decided to suck it up and call an appliance repair company. Come to find out, they didn't install the washer properly! read more

Saw add on craigslist. Was told I would get a nice washer and dryer, a model with in 5 years delivered all set up. Called the day of delivery, guy who answered had to do research calling me back 3 times. Finally told me they would be delivered around 2:30. They weren't delivered till after 4, and they were dirty and yes they work but not sure for how long. If I had to do it all over again I would just pay the extra money for a new set with piece of mind because I'm sure if they mess up it won't be covered under the "limited warranty!" read more

Found this business on Craig's List and was lured in by the "one-year warranty." The dryer lasted less than six months; when I called and finally got them to come check it after two weeks of unreturned calls, they said the motor would need replacing and it would cost over $100 (parts are not covered under the warranty, only labor). I set it out by the curb the next day and someone picked it up for parts. Then my washer stopped working after only 9 months. They repeatedly tried to charge me for the service call, even though it was supposed to be free. I got on the phone with the owner, who said I would owe only $35 for a part. By this time, the repairman had the washer running, but I had not seen him change out any part. I asked to see the part he added, and he could not show it to me. I asked to see the broken part he supposedly removed, and he pulled some random bolts, a washer, and a tiny plastic bag from his pocket. He had not gone back out to his vehicle the entire time. He kept saying his English was not good, but he was never able to produce a part or explain what exactly he had added to the machine (and how this part happened to be on his person before even seeing the machine or identifying the problem). After arguing in circles for 15 minutes, while he declared, "I no lie you! I no lie you!" I finally paid him the $35 to get him to leave. This business sells appliances that are poor quality and do not last; then they charge you for the invisible parts they supposedly add later. I would never recommend this business to anyone. read more
