Doctor was great and friendly, root canal portion went smooth with minor pain. Doctor kept checking on me the whole time and was thorough with my complicated tooth. That being said, I sat in the chair for 2 hours waiting for my root canal to start. All together I was at the office for 3 hours and feel like my day was wasted. I was booked in for an exploratory and probable root canal. Root canal it was, and an infection that spread to the jaw. Dr Lin took on what was hopefully going to be a 1-1/2hr job, but morphed into 2hr one - my roots were calcified and required a lot more work to clear. He was gentle, patient and totally professional. I was in so much pain for a few weeks and my anxiety level was through the roof due to not a having good experience at other dental offices. I was referred to Apex as an alternative for an infected root canal and I decided to give them a try since they were able to see me the soonest and because they told me that they would not charge me for an oral evaluation. Maybe I should have taken a pause when they decided to push to remove the infection right there and then. It felt like a rush job and during the removal my porcelain tooth implant cracked (which anyone who has to buy one knows are extremely expensive and is difficult to match up with your teeth). Not only was the treatment painful and rough due to the rush, and having to end up paying a lot of money to create and install another implant, but apparently Apex decided to go to town on my insurance (nearly $2k). I paid for my portion up front but they had the audacity to get the remaining small balance ($29) that my insurance decline to reimburse ($174 oral evaluation that they said they would not bill me!). Be careful with these guys... I don't think you will receive quality treatment, they will milk your insurance, and chase after you for the difference when insurance rejects them to maximize their profits. read more

I recently had to have my first root canal and was referred by my Dentist to Dr Andrew Lin at Apex Endodontics. I was a little anxious about having a root canal but Dr Lin and his entire staff were magnificent! They answered all of my questions with empathy and patience. When Dr Lin explained what needed to be done and after answering my questions it ended up that I actually had a couple of choices of how we proceeded. I asked one or two more questions and went forward with the root canal. I'm not going to lie, it's not pleasant it's a root canal but I was in the chair almost 90 minutes and I'm not kidding when I say that the last 20 minutes or so after the major grinding and work was done, I was so relaxed I could of fallen asleep. And no relaxing meds were taken. Root canals are what Apex Endodontics does and they are very good at it. If I ever need another one, no muss, no fuss, they will do it. read more

Let me start by saying I am a very nervous patient. I was referred to this office for 2 root canals. They were able to fit me in within a couple of weeks (my insurance was expiring at the end of the month so I needed to get them fixed ASAP). Dr. Lin was AWESOME! He has a wonderful calming demeanor and explains everything in away that I could understand. After reviewing my X-Rays, he determined that I only needed to have 1 root canal that ended up saving me money. The whole process took about an hour from time I walked in to when I walked out. I was referred to Apex by my general dentist back in 2018 for a retreat of an old root canal. Everything seemed to be done correctly until the pain resurfaced in the same area just shy of a year post-procedure. My general dentist referred me back to Apex to have this looked at again. Dr. Lin said that tooth looked to be healing properly and began looking at other teeth in the area that could be the cause of the current pain. After checking several teeth with endo ice, it was his determination that the pain must be coming from a tooth two teeth over. As a patient, I trusted this opinion and allowed him to treat a NEW tooth for a root canal. Unfortunately, a couple of weeks went by and there was no improvement in pain. I decided to get a 2nd, 3rd and 4th opinion from endodontists and it was revealed to me that there was still massive infection in the tooth that was retreated in 2018. After much discussion and looking at images from before and after Dr. Lin did the procedure, I was left with the option of apicoectomy or a 3rd retreat. I was reluctant to retreat again but felt very confident with the several specialists' opinion that they could save this tooth. Once the procedure began, it was revealed that there was still a cotton pellet in the tooth; therefore, if I had gone with the apicoectomy instead of the retreat it would have not even been discovered. Both my general dentist and Dr. Lin refuse to take responsibility for that being left in the tooth and becoming a breeding ground for bacteria. I reached out to Apex Endodontics to explain the situation, ask for answers and come up with a resolution. Dr. Lin stands behind his decision to not further investigate the tooth I came in to see him for. I mentioned to the office manager that I felt inclined to leave an honest review regarding this lack of thoroughness and integrity from this office and was laughed at. I hope to help spread the word that Apex Endodontics did not properly care for me as a patient and this unfortunate situation has cost me a LOT of money out of pocket and continued pain. read more

I've had large fillings in each of my molars since 99'. Decided that now that I'm older, I plan on getting these fillings have taken care of since they do have a lot of miles on them. My first crown went fine, the healing process took longer than usual because the tooth was so sensitive from all the work it needed. It took about 6+ months for me to get my crown. My second crown, I wasn't so lucky. My dentist waited as long as he could and my tooth was still sore/sensitive, I hadn't eaten food on the left side of my mouth for 3+ months, and my gum was super irritated. It just left me super unhappy and extremely nervous about the next steps I would have to take. I was recommended to Apex for my first root canal. I've heard horror stories about this procedure and I couldn't help but google and youtube everything I could to know what to expect. (Don't believe everything you hear!) I was SO nervous to the point where my palms were sweating and my heart was racing just sitting there waiting for the numbing to begin. Not only did Dr.Lin talk me thru EVERY step, he was so gentle with everything he did. I am SO happy with my experience. I felt like the time flew by and I couldn't believe it. Dr.Lin and his assistant were both so kind to me. The reviews about this office are true, this is definitely the place to go to get work done. He talked me through everything , thoroughly explaining the procedure. Talked me through my breathing while numbing me, and checked in that I wasn't in pain consistently. This dentist is on another level. I honestly almost fell asleep during my procedure I was so relaxed. He takes x rays to make sure his work is all perfect before he lets you go. The worst service ever. Sat there for over an hour before they even numbed my daughter. They drilled out the whole tooth and it's been less than 24 hours and my daughters tooth is cracked. I have had several root canals and NEVER IN HISTORY HAS THIS EVER HAPPENED. I was told specialists don't put temporaries over the tooth. I was also told this is excessive for a root canal. I was referred by my dentist for a root canal with Dr. Sean Lin. I was a little hesitant at first because of the distance (Fountain Valley to Anaheim), but I finally called for a consultation anyway. The office was clean, and the receptionist was very kind, knowledgeable and helpful. I met with Dr. Lin, and he was so nice and made me feel at ease. I told him about my situation and then he explained to me what needed to be done with my tooth without making me feel bad. Unfortunately I couldn't do the operation on that same day because of my daycare situation but I was able to schedule an appointment the next day. On the day of the operation, I didn't feel any pain at all. I was comfortable and relaxed. Throughout the whole process Dr. Lin would occasionally ask if I was doing okay. It made me felt like I was taken care off and not just a number. My experience with Apex Endodontics was an awesome one from start to finish. I made a previous review about Dr. Sean Lin. This review is about Dr. Andrew Lin. So I came in for a consult on 2 teeth and unfortunately one tooth already had a RCT and retreatment done, so the best course of action for that tooth is to extract it :(. The other tooth, although it looked calcified, was able to be saved! Yay! My previous dentist (I don't go to him anymore) started RCT and failed at following through with it. The anesthetic didn't help as he got deeper in my tooth. However, as I was seen by Dr. Andrew Lin, there was no pain at all. Which is what I was scared of... But no, the anesthetic didn't wear off until 5 to 6 hours later! This was also another pleasant experience. Dr Andrew Lin also has very good bedside manners. Both doctors at this practice uphold excellence in patient satisfaction and comfort. I have no complaints about my visit here. Haha the only thing I hated was the brain rattling drill, but nothing can really remedy that. Also, they have a new location. It's right near the packing house, and it's really nice inside. Seems like an upgrade to me! No more slow elevators haha. Hopefully I don't have to come here again, but if I need another root canal treatment, I will be coming back here. Highly recommended 12/10 would mess up my teeth to come again. (lol) read more

I don't have much to share that has not been already expressed by the other reviewers. As noted by others, Doctor Lin is a specialist, and like the others, I was sent here by my regular dentist for a root canal. The experience was as pleasant as a root canal could be. I agree, his chair side manners could not be better. He does not just warn of possible pain (there was not much of that), but explains what he is doing while he is working on you. His second floor office does face a small park, adding to the pleasant experience. I did drop in to his office a week after the procedure to ask a question. He was not able to help further, but the dentist and the front desk were pleasant. I saw one other specialist soon after seeing Doctor Lim, and he said that the root canal was well done. Also, at my regular dentist's office, assistants did have praise for his work. read more
