Dr. Andrew Lin is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I got a molar root canal done and he was kind and gentle throughout the whole process. I was in a lot of pain and he empathized with me, calmed me down, and got on with the procedure. I was made very comfortable and he kept checking on me. I didn't feel any pain and I walked out of the clinic feeling fit. I am very scared of doctors and dentists, syringes, and any sort of medical treatments, -- but the whole team of Apex Endodontics was OUTSTANDING. Dr. Andrew Lin was very sincere with the root canal process and focused only on the tooth that needed the treatment. In the past, I have gone to dentists who started poking into my other teeth while treating a different tooth. I found that very irritating and unprofessional. Some dentists even started talking about cosmetic procedures and how to "fix my smile" while working on a cavity filling. Dr. Andrew Lin, on the other hand, was entirely focused on doing the root canal and I found him to be very focused, professional, and sincere. Overall, he is the best doctor (including dentists and other types of doctors) I have ever visited. Finally, the two women at the front desk were also wonderful. For some reason, the care-credit website was down and they were not able to process my payment. However, they kept trying and Dr. Andrew Lin started the process even before the payment was processed. The two women at the front desk called the care-credit front desk and did everything necessary to make sure that I was able to get the root canal done on that day. Everything from check in to my procedure has been beyond my expectations. Starting with the ladies at the front desk who have been so kind and professional while checking in. They charge $30.00 for PPE for one visit. That was after I paid at the office for the total amount they told me I owed...$250.00. I received a bill for $82.00 two months after my appointment. It stated $30 for PPE. read more

I liked the "doctor" (Andrew Lin) and dental hygienist lady just fine AT FIRST. We consulted. He seemed concerned and nice AT FIRST. Told him about my conditions. I have Erythromelalgia aka "burning alive" and Raynaud's syndrome that makes my fingers and toes painfully numb. I'm hypersensitive and have severe chronic pain. They just kept calling him "doctor." I found that odd. They did turn the temperature down for me, and I had a fan plugged in on my forever-burning face BUT after THE FIRST COUPLE HOURS while I had a giant contraption with a dental dam and dangerous needles sticking out of my my tooth he asked the hygienist to TURN MY FAN AWAY. She put it on my body which was already cold, too cold. Hint: I was wearing gloves and told him I have Raynaud's syndrome, too. My face was on fire, and in the THIRD HOUR of having my mouth open and being tortured the drilling got super close and SO MUCH NERVE PAIN WAS BEING TRANSFERRED TO MY BOTTOM TOOTH. THERE WERE SO MANY FUCKING SIGNS I WAS IN DISTRESS. I was rigid and either breathing quickly like I was in a panic or trying to do deep breaths to stop crying. My eyes were held so tightly shut because I was crying and in so much pain. THEY STOPPED TALKING TO ME. We took a tiny break so the hygienist and I could go the bathroom. Warm up your fucking hands THEN, "doctor." Maybe give me another break because it should be so obvious after talking to me about my pain disorder and seeing my evidence of the extreme burning right in front of you. I had a tiny notebook in my purse, and I used it after the bathroom to communicate that there was something lodged near the top of my throat. She tried to clear it out. But I SO SO SO SO REGRETTABLY put the notebook back in my purse. Shit. I think I had my phone on me, could have written them a note on that. I couldn't think. I couldn't move. I was in so much pain. And they didn't seem to give a flying fanny anymore. They just wanted to finish and take all our money. After insurance, it was $800 out of pocket, and he doesn't do crowns so I have to get a replacement. Why couldn't they just remove the crown, do the work, put it back? Or why couldn't you just put a crown in yourself? That's ridiculous. So expensive. And "I know you JUST got x-rays, but 'doctor' likes to get his own" = extra expenses. I UNDERSTAND doing things when your hands are really cold is difficult. I get painfully numb fingers and toes myself. BUT YOU CAN WORK AROUND IT. FIND A WAY. I'M DYING. She completely turned both my fans off once they finally finished some three hours later, and I could finally TALK. I'm like, "I NEED THAT." I am really pissed at Andrew Lin, DDS. Never again. Do not recommend. I know I'm an extra special case, but this was handled ridiculously poorly in my opinion. I am extra pissed now that I saw that he wrote, "Samara tolerated the procedure well." I was crying in pain and was just sobbing and sobbing once it was finally over. So much nerve pain, and they wouldn't listen. LISTEN!!!!!!!!!!!! Afterwards they kept saying, "You'll be sore for a few days." I kept saying I am in immense PAIN (and was sobbing.) This is more than sore. They just kept repeating that and ignoring my pain. He called later on right after I was at the acupuncturist, and I told him I'm SILL IN A LOT OF PAIN. Again, he tells me it's normal to be sore, but I shouldn't be in pain. I TOLD YOU I'M IN PAIN. HELP ME. I wish I would have told him off then. The hygienist got me some tissues and said, "Don't cry. You're making me sad." I'M MAKING *YOU* SAD?!?!?!?!? OH BOO HOO FOR YOU, LADY. I'M IN EXCRUCIATING PAIN, AND IT'S PARTLY-MAINLY THANKS TO YOU AND "DOCTOR." At some point she said she was starting to get hot flashes. That was actually a good sign because women experiencing hot flashes are one of the only kinds of people who kinda "get it." But she seemed way too young for that... I'm peeved at her too now, and after we bonded over my goofy ringtone. Goofy was always one of her favourites, too. And she gave me a tissue to wipe off my lipstick. I told her I'm not wearing any. She was amazed. "You have naturally red lips?" Like she's jealous... I just say, "Well, sometimes." Because my lips BURN, too. They gave me pain killers too. Only barely touched the pain. They still don't understand. Never enough. Never listen. ALL dentists really need to get a clue and get a little dry erase board so patients can actually communicate. I would like to start off by saying wow! i would recommend Dr. Lin in a heart beat. I needed a root canal done on my back molar and made an appointment, process was very easy and stress free. Dr. Lin educated me on what will have to be done to complete the surgery so i understood what was being done during this procedure. The entire procedure was PAIN FREE, didn't feel a thing while Dr. Lin made sure i was comfortable during the whole thing. It happened i had to get my root canal treatment and without hesitation i choose this location . Great staff and customer service . They offer financing options with care credit payment plan . I got approved and did my procedure same day . I got X ray and details was provided showing exactly where the issue was in my teeth and all treatment options. A great Professuonal dr Andrew Lin and he layed out exactly what he will be doing in my treatment and eta as well before the procedure . After my dentist discovered calcification in the tooth he was attempting to perform a root canal on, it was determined that I should be referred to a specialist. I cannot stress enough my satisfaction with the service and care I received at Apex. Dr. Lin and staff are top rate. The procedure took quite a while, due to the extent of of the calcification, but Dr. Lin's steady hands and able assistant made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. Dr. Lin is the bomb! He explained everything about my root canal and never made me feel rushed. I'm a nurse so I ask a lot of questions. He patiently answered every one... including drawing me a picture! Then he went to work. He was super gentle and kept asking if I was ok. He explained everything again as he did it. Very little pain or discomfort. Only one out of 4 shots hurt (just a little)! Everyone here is knowledgeable and polite! I felt like I was the only patient in the world that mattered! I wish dr. I am 54. That should ring a bell with a few of the readers out there. My first cavities were filled in the late 60's/early 70's and the material used back then was less than ideal. Those fillings shrunk and gave way to a flood of root canals in my 30's. With each tooth, when the pain came it was too late. At least 8 childhood old fillings turned into expensive root canals and crowns. But no one told me root canals can go "bad", if not done well could re-surface as problematic many years later. Recently I had one tooth originally root canal-ed in the 90's (a word?) and re-treated 18 months ago by a fabulous (not) Newport Beach Endodontist and this past December it started raging. WTF? I went back to Fabulous Newport Beach Endodontist and his well/over dressed staff informed me he no longer accepted my insurance. Again, can we say, WTF? So I got out the list of Endos from my insurance plan and found Apex. I scheduled the consult and immediately I was impressed with Dr. Lin's insistence we save the tooth. In a world of Dentists and Dental professionals pushing us ALL towards $4000.00 implants I realized this Dentist was different. And he was. I scheduled the re-treat of the root canal and it was done 10 days ago. I feel great, free of the low grade infection I sadly got used to. But the money shot in this story is that 2 days after the procedure I got a call from Dr. Andrew Lin- not his front office staff, but the guy who did the work. He called to check in. WTF? I am VERY thankful for Dr. Andrew Lin he was amazing!!! I am pretty tough when it comes to pain management, but one of my back molars was causing me severe pain all of last week. The pain was present for months, but finally got so bad last week I couldn't eat, was having headaches, hot/cold sensitivity and all of that was causing insomnia. This was a result of bad advice from my former regular dentist...but that is a review for a later time. I needed treatment asap, but sadly no Endodontics would take my HMO insurance. I came across Yelp reviews for Apex and Dr. Lin specifically, and I am truly happy I selected his office. Dr. Lin truly empathized with my situation, accepted my insurance and got right to work immediately relieving my pain. I have never had a root canal procedure, but I was told it is pretty terrible. I am still amazed, I felt absolutely no pain, and I even fell asleep for a bit during the procedure. Dr. Lin's assistants were extremely caring and sweet, and in less than two hours I was back at the office. I am now on my third day post-root canal and feeling pretty dam good. The sensitivity is completely gone, I can chew almost normally and I cannot stress enough my satisfaction with the service this office provides. I thought I needed root canal on two molars but after examination, Dr Andy Lin found the problematic molar and said I only needed one root canal - not two. My biggest fear was pain from the anesthetic injections. I felt absolutely no pain, not even a pinch. Dr Lin was very gentle, patient, and thorough. He explained what he was going to do and kept me posted throughout the process which greatly eased my tensions and take away the unknown. Dr Lin was very conscious of his patients' comfort. I never felt any pain afterward or experience any inflammation after the anesthetic was gone. Dr Andy Lin prescribed pain killer medicine but I didn't really need to take it. First I'm a elderly woman. Nice way of saying I'm OLD. This was not my first root canal but it was by far the best. Everyone was very professional. Each has a job to do and they do it effortlessly. No long wait. Each one explains in detail the process. The young lady that greets you is charming without being sugary. Dr. Lin is one of the nicest men I have ever met. Plus he has empathetic and sympathetic, understanding your fears and concerns. He recommends the options relating to your specific conditions. I was referred to Apex for a root canal through a crown. The procedure went well, they even draped my tongue and throat so no ground off tooth particles went in my mouth.
