Tommy diagnosed the real issue and replaced the water pump, timing belt, thermostat, and radiator hoses -- all with OEM parts -- for around $900. Honest, clear, and practical. A few months later, in January 2025, I called Tommy again when another shop quoted me $750 to replace just two heater hoses. Tommy quoted $225 to replace all four, noting that these hoses tend to age together. Again, his approach wasn't just about the repair -- it was thoughtful and based on long-term care of the car. Last week, I returned because my thermostat was acting up -- the engine temp would drop after 25-30 minutes at highway speed with the heater on. Tommy replaced the thermostat. I had misunderstood the 2-year warranty, but he kindly worked with me to find a middle ground between his usual rate and what I had expected. Both times I went to Tommy, he cleaned the engine bay, which had oil and coolant residue from other issues -- something other mechanics probably noticed but never bothered to do. It wasn't part of the job, but Tommy did it anyway, simply out of pride in his work and care for my car. What happened next is what really stayed with me. On my way home, I stopped to pick up food, and my car wouldn't start. I called Tommy, panicked. He came out to meet me, diagnosed a loose battery cable, and -- without any fuss -- walked to the nearby O'Reilly Auto Parts, borrowed tools, and made sure the connection was secure. I offered to pay or buy him dinner, but he refused, saying it was no big deal. But it was a big deal. After having two shops misdiagnose simple problems and try to charge outrageous amounts, Tommy's integrity and kindness were a breath of fresh air. He literally went out of his way to help -- not just as a mechanic, but as a genuinely good person. Even though 8-Velocity Motorsports is far from where I live, I'm glad I found someone I can trust. Needed to drive home to Portland the next day to get a friend to the airport however my tire had a decent gash that wouldn't let us do that safely. So I wake up the next day and I'm putting my spare on to drive back..... when I snap off a lug in the spare. Needless to say I was pissed, it was a Sunday, and nothing was open. I made an appointment at a Les Schwab the next day and they turned me away along with one more Les Schwab!! Finally I make it to Kenmore Les Schwab and they say they can fix my tire however not the snapped off lug bolt in my spare. But they recommended me to this place and thank god they did. I call them they said they can have it out by 2:00/3:00! So I take the car there and they were super accommodating, obviously understanding I was in a stressful situation they went to work immediately. Not only that, on a lunch break, one of them went and picked up my fixed tire from Les Schwab so they could put it on themselves. They had the car out by 1:30 (earlier than expected). And we were on the road to Portland and made it to the airport in time. Whether in a pinch or not this place will provide quality and fast service, excellent prices, and hand downs honesty. 10/10 recommend this place to anyone in the Seattle area.

I took the the battery to them and they said they'd call me when the replacement arrived. Within 2 hours they called me and said it was there. I went down to pick it up with no charge even though the battery warranty was one week past expiration! What amazed me most was their integrity! Thank you! Integrity is such a rare commodity these days!
