Instagram worthy bagels that are the best looking but not the best tasting bagels in the city. Reasonably priced and tasty.

Tomato bagel.
Mark S.

I can confidently say this is my favorite bagel in the city. I love the flavor of their sourdough bagels. It really elevates the experience! I've tried everything, and they're all great. My favorite is the tomato bagel with scallion cream cheese. The tomato offers a nice refreshing bite, and when paired with the scallion cream cheese and everything bagel, you get three great flavors culminating together for the perfect bite. Now, the line can be really long, but it moves extremely fast. They have their systems down, which is so nice, Unfortunately, there is no seating inside, so you have to find a nearby area to post up, but it is definitely worth it for the delicious bagels!

Apollo's Bagels is my new favorite bagel in New York City. I came twice while visiting NY and it did not disappoint! There is always a line but it moves pretty fast. There isn't a place to sit at this location. My favorite is the Tomato Bagel. It is simple, and flavorful. The bagel is soft and perfectly toasted. The tomato is drizzled with olive oil, sea salt, and pepper. It is the perfect bite every time. I had it both times with a sesame bagel. We also tried a regular bagel with cream cheese. The bagel was soft and perfectly toasted. We had the sesame bagel with butter and jam. The bagel was soft and the jam was sweet. It was a bit too sweet for my taste, but it would be perfect to split with someone else and maybe have a savory and sweet bagel. Last but definitely not least, do not sleep on the orange juice here. They freshly make it and it is so sweet! It is so refreshing and delicious. It complements the bagels very well. Overall Apollo's bagels did not disappoint!

How good can a bagel really be? This style is similar to what we have in LA so I didn't think too much about it. But this really is my favorite bagel I've tried so far. Something about the cream cheese just taste different Next time I will try to tomato one

Amazing whitefish bagel that was light, crunchy, and flavorful! I love that the everything bagel had an even amount of seasoning on each side and paired nicely with the crunch and pickled taste. There's line moves fast, and flows nicely through the store.

Their everything bagel with cream cheese and tomato has become a favorite of mine. I had to go downtown today for something and went a little out of the way to get one before breakfast beforehand. There was barely a line. Waited only a few minutes then enjoyed it in the park across the street, as many other people were doing as well.

Always love Apollo! Workers are always kind! Bagel was very tough (it's a sourdough bagel so I expected that) Whitefish bagel is always a hit, with the mustard and crunchy cucumber!!! So good! Can't wait to come back

When I tell you these bagels are 10/10... I mean it. They're fresh, soft, flavorful just SO good. This location had a very short wait time and the staff was friendly, which made the experience even better. We got a plain bagel with tomato cream cheese simple but seriously delicious. Sometimes simple just hits! And then we got the everything bagel with smoked salmon... now THAT one is something else. Absolutely loved it. The flavors were perfect together.I would 100% go back again. If you're a bagel lover, this spot is a must.

No words- simply lives up to the hype. I got the plain with tomatoes and my friend got the jam bagel. We shared but wish I didn't cause I definitely enjoyed mine more! Bagels are so airy and fresh, even though we had to eat them out in the cold it hit the spot- Plus they are sourdough :)

Best bagel I've ever had and so glad we made the trek to this location specifically for the aesthetic. Rainy Saturday around 2pm, line to order was short, but space inside was limited. There is no seating. We ended up standing by the trash cans to eat but honestly we were so entranced in the deliciousness of these bagels and the view outside that it didn't bother us one bit. Highly recommend the cream cheese and tomato on everything. If you get the salmon, ask to add tomato. Coffee was good and cups were cute.

I popped in here on a whim a couple of Saturdays ago with a friend of mine, as I was in the mood for a bagel. The line wasn't super long and I appreciated how simple the menu was. I got the cream cheese with tomato on an everything bagel, and it was very good. The bagel was deliciously crunchy and airy and I really enjoyed the cream cheese. The tomato was really ripe, but I realized I could have done without it. The space itself is pretty small, with no seating, but you can stand around and eat your bagel (as I did) since the weather was cold outside. I'd definitely come here again and try a different bagel next time.

Everything bagel with smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers, red onion and dill

Having heard a lot about Apollo Bagels, I had always wanted to try their bagels. I ordered the everything bagel with smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers, dill, and red onions. The bagel lived up to its reputation, though the bread was a little chewy. The salmon, however, was delicious and paired very well with the bagel.

The hype is real with Apollo! If you're looking for a bagel that offers the perfect crunch on the outside and is soft on the inside -- come to Apollo! We got the tomato bagel on an everything with the scallion cream cheese. The scallion cream cheese was a GENEROUS smear and tasted so fresh. The bagel was hands down the best bagel I've had. The tomato was perfectly ripe and added another layer of freshness. We also went to their other location by Penn Station and their freshly squeezed OJ is to die for. Our bagel came out super quick despite how busy they were which was a pleasant surprise. 10/10 will be back!

The ambiance was welcoming and festive and seeing fellow Knicks fans enjoying bagels and the many foods offered here, made this spot just right. We ordered 2 Knicks themed bagels with cream cheese and 2 plain Knicks themed bagels to go. The bagel with cream cheese was so soft and delicious. Literally melted in your mouth. Perfect texture, something NYC can proudly own about our bagels, and the cream cheese was just right! I thoroughly enjoyed it. The next day I had one of the plain bagels and it was just as fresh as the first day. Perfect texture and even more fulfilling the next day. Let's just say that the next time I'm home, I want to try more of their incredible bagels!

FOOD: We ordered a bag of 3 bagels-- everything, poppy seed & salt. The bagels were cute, medium sized and served warm/hot. We chose the scallion cream cheese which came in a lil container. Apparently the bagels are not made in the traditional manner, but they were still delicious with great texture and taste. We also ordered the tea (ok) and strawberry lemonade (yum). We enjoyed our bagels on the little countertop area outside. OVERALL: Definitely recommend! A different bagel experience than some other places (as in, those places where you are served bagels topped with cream cheese and other things) but we enjoyed the simplicity of the bagels and controlling the amount of cream cheese.

Anyways, the girls had bookmarked another bagel establishment but the line was hella long like they were giving away Knicks gear for free. Ironically another "bagel shop" search on Yelp showed PopUp Bagels was like three doors down lol. No line! That in itself was making me question but there is a PopUp in San Diego that my daughter swears by. PopUp advertised itself as "Not Famous, but known." Whether or not this bagel is better than the one store three doors up is something I cannot attest to. However I can say THIS WAS A DANG GOOD BAGEL! And it was freshly made! How do I know? It literally burned my fingers when I ripped it open! The pain was worth it. Outside, a slightly crisp texture generously coated with "Everything". Inside was a dense and chewy dough that was pliable but able to withstand the dipping and shmearing of cream cheese (which was smooth). Best I have ever had for sure but then again my most common bagel experience is the place named after a scientist where tons of bagels are sitting in bins for who knows how long. So why wasn't this a 5-star experience? One, I only ate one thing. Two, sevice and setting are "just there". Considering it wasn't busy I would expect a bit more of a welcome. To eat you're bagel you can full on just leave, sit at the three stools inside where it is super hot (bc hey they actually cook), or three stand outside. There is a little, I'll say "patio", where you can stand, eat, and true story, watch two people argue about who gets to sort through the recyclables from the neighborhood eateries. Snack and a show???? I just stood near the door and enjoyed my bagel.
