The fries were subpar, but the Apollo sauce helped. I also got a Cherry Hand-Scooped Shake. It was good but very chunky, I think it's meant to be eaten with a spoon. I also sampled the special sauce, but it wasn't my favorite (a bit too sweet for me), so I switched to ketchup for the onion rings and that paired perfectly. The restaurant itself is spacious and nicely put together. During my visit there were about 10-12 people inside, but it still felt comfortable and open. My only suggestion would be for the owner to dedicate a staff member specifically for table clean-up. About half the tables were clean, and the other half could've used a quick wipe-down--possibly because I came in right after a rush. Food: 4.5/5 Cleanliness/Atmosphere: 4/5 You can tell a lot of care went into designing the place, but it needs consistent upkeep from the staff to match the quality of the food. Now for the one downside: the price. My meal came out to $20.20, which is a little steep for a burger and onion rings. If the burger price was in the $14-$18 range, I'd be back much more often. I think the higher price point might be the reason the place isn't packed. Overall, Apollo Burger is worth trying--especially if you want something better than the usual fast-food spots. And although I never saw a bit of pastrami in Greece, leave it to a Greek family to make pastrami a burger topper and make it a fan favorite. My first time looking for a pastrami burger in Salt Lake, I meant to go to Crown Burger, but they were closed since it was on a Sunday. I found Apollo and was very happy with their offering. Added the double bacon cheeseburger and large fries she missed, added it to my total but didn't give me the all the food I paid for. I didn't look in the box to verify it was all there and now I'm back at work hungry because I gave my coworker my food since Apollo didn't give me his. I called the restaurant to let them know their mistake privately but nobody ever answered. So public review it is. I will not ever eat at this Apollo burger again because of this experience. For late night burger options, I was quite satisfied with my Apollo Burger w/extra pastrami, fries, and corn dog. I'm not expecting a gourmet experience here, just a good juicy burger slightly charred with some flavorful juicy pastrami. And Apollo delivered. The fries were nice n crispy lightly salted. The only issues were my 7-up was flat. And the corn dog, the cornmeal shell was nice and crispy with great flavor. But the hot dog inside was cold. Staying near the airport and was looking for a quick bite. Stopped in and got an Apollo burger and fries. The burger was tasty although the special sauce is ok just a little on the sweet side. The fries were hot. Workers didn't seem to be too interested in taking orders, but after a couple of minutes of standing and staring at them, we got service. I wanted to do a side-by-side comparison of the two but unfortunately Crown is closed on Sundays so that made the decision easy on which one to try first. I ordered the apollo burger ($6.79) and the regular fries ($2.99). The pastrami is pretty tasty and adds another layer of flavor to the burger. It's actually a pretty decent burger even without it but it is indeed so much better with the pastrami in it. The fries were nicely salted and goes well with their apollo sauce which is a thousand island dressing based sauce similar to In-N-Out or Chick Fil-A. I'm in Salt Lake City on a quick vacation and wanted to eat somewhere with something unique. The pastrami burger at Apollo Burger fit the bill. My burger was cooked well and the pastrami and sauce definitely added a uniqueness to it. It was very delicious. The fry's were also thick and well cooked with a tiny bit of crunch. The meal cost me about $15 which is a bit more than a fast food place but the quality is a bit better too. The restaurant seemed fairly clean and had all kinds of people from a group of college kids to a family with little kids. The service was about as quick as any other restaurant is these days (maybe a 5-10 min wait for my food after ordering via the self-service kiosk). Overall I definitely recommend this place and think perhaps some of the one star reviews are because of a fence competition with the other restaurants who service pastrami burgers in Salt Lake City. read more

Ah another Greek inspired/owned fast food joint. You know the kind. Pastrami burgers, gyros, fry sauce, etc. My go to here is breakfast. I really enjoy the breakfast sandwich with gyro meat. So tasty! The breakfast platters are great as well. Coffee is average. For lunch it's hard to beat the pastrami burger. All though I think Crown and California Burger do a better version. So why the 3 stars? Service is off at times. Today I went through the drive thru and they forgot my hash brown patty. So I parked and went in. This hamburger was delicious. I could not believe the texture and taste. It was like boom, taste buds explode. You can taste blue cheese throughout the whole bite. The fries are well made, perfect amount of salt, and I highly recommend their special sauce. Multiple reasons why Apollo Burger is a good joint to stop for food - the food is not soggy; that is the one thing I have hated about other places. It's like, why to make a hamburger that is so soggy you cant even pick up the bun or anything gross. This restaurant is a fast food joint so expect 3 stars going in. Because of the better than average parking situation and much nicer dining room area I'll add one star. Since the restroom makes it very difficult to leave with clean hands, I'll subtract one star (why don't all restaurateurs understand germ theory?) To illustrate, an employee was washing his hands as I was waiting to use the sink. I was impressed at how thoroughly he washed his hands. After using the air dryer, he grabbed the dirty door handle, pulled it toward him, and left. Air dryers have their place, but when there is only an air dyer, you need to have a foot grab or a door that pushes open to leave with clean hands, That was not the case here. Next, the food. I ordered the fish sandwich and expected it to be above average but it was below average. The cod had a consistency that was more similar to chicken than cod. In fact, I thought they had mixed up my order and given me a chicken sandwich just from the consistency of the first bite. This is a fast food restaurant so that is almost to be expected. If you are craving a burger, this is a great place to feed that crave. The double cheese burger with bacon was well done and juicy. I was skeptical about the Apollo sauce but decided to give it a try with with my fries and it was delicious. First off I ordered my food in the DT pulled forward and was waiting for a good 10 minutes before anyone even came to the window to greet me and ring me up. When I realized this I asked them to substitute back to which the the lady at the counter refused. Despite the fact they still have iceberg lettuce for their salads. I loved coming to Apollo I actually worked there couple years back. their drive thru guy was horrible was rude when waiting for my order he was on his phone entire time. I order some fries and they reheated them and we're burn or idk but i grabbed one and it tasted burn. so I pulled back to drive thru and tried to explain to drive thru guy, he didn't want to talk to me asked for manager refused to put him on. so I just pulled up thru drive thru anyways. I got the house specialty, the Apollo Burger. Their cornmeal-topped bun comes with a Fresh 1/4lb Ground Beef Patty, topped with sliced smoked pastrami & American cheese, Butter Leaf lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and "Apollo Sauce". The Apollo difference is they flame broil instead of the hot button term of "char broiling" like others. Is it better than Crown? No, it is a little less flavorful but still really good. It comes down to pastrami...that Crown bbq spit, and whatever secrets their family-invented seasoning offer, just make a difference. The thing that impresses me about Apollo is sizes. Their combo large fries seems the size of a grocery store tote bag. More importantly the fries are thick, tasty, and great with their fry sauce. And I think the nearby 7-11 is missing some cups, because the Large size is YUUUUGE. AND they have a drive-thru, so you can get the meat sweats in the comfort of your own home. It took forever to order. They only had one cashier during the lunch rush. Eventually they did finally add a second cashier, but it still took forever. The menu has a lot of different burgers named, but it doesn't have explanations about what any of them are so it was hard to know what to order primarily because it was so crowded and I didn't want to take a long time asking what everything was. You order at the counter, get a number and they bring your food to you. The service at that point was fast enough.
