We've been going to Apollo for YEARS w/our 3 cats (who we take extra, EXTRA god care of). We were there w/my huge lover personality cat, Chatter. She IS such a JOY to everyone who meets her! Chatter was here for blood & urine testing, hoping to find out whatever was going on. Dr. Terry the vet, was IN the room w/us while Chatter was screaming BLOODLY MURDER outside the door. This went on 10 to 15 minutes, & Dr. Terry NEVER once offered to calm Chatter down, OR reschedule her. The girl was being very forceful with her, when the door opened once-Dr. Terry DID go out there I'm assuming to find out what was going on. Chatter was sooo hoarse the next day, she couldn't speak. I also got an automatic review email from Apollo--I wrote EXACTLY what happened & WHY/HOW. Apollo complained a out the review I wrote! HEY!!! Please don't send reviews to do, if you can't handle the truth. Apollo banned ALL 3 cats (and us) from ever coming back because if that review I did! Additionally, they charged $535 after the fact!!! NOT RIGHT! THEN we got an issue w/another cat. We stopped by & tried to talk to Dr. Terry. He said he'd ha e to talk to the "manager." After about a week, manager stuck with her decision. WOULD "YOU" LISTEN TO YOUR CAT SCREAM FOR 15 MINUTES? Chatter is ITTY-BITTY, all of SIX pounds...VERY EASY to hurt her...and, I was still stuck with a $535 vet bill. My Boston Terrier had an eye problem, and they said it was from an allergy. They were wrong, and steered me wrong for several weeks. When I took them to an eye I was told it was a bad infection, and if the eye wasn't removed, the eye would burst, and she'd die. My dogs trachea collapsed (which had happened before) and when the medicine wasn't working I reached out to Apollo North to get him an urgent appt because his primary vet couldn't get him in. I was so grateful they were able to get him in because I was desperate for him to get better but I wish I would've waited for his primary vet. While at Apollo north... I was a wreck... nervous, anxious, and terrified. I had high expectations based on their reviews but I was let down. I had to express concerns multiple times about his shallow breathing and how lethargic he was (after they sedated him to run tests) They seemed irritated when I expressed my concerns and "questioned" why he was now legarthic and could barely hold his head up. They told me they needed to run a couple tests and said I'd get the results back in a couple days.... But those results never came... even though I paid for them. Two days after that appt, my dog was even worse and I had to make the tough decision to put him down. This was over two months ago and I've still never received a call with those now unnecessary test results. It took me months to write this review as I wanted to clear my head and be as thorough as possible. Extremely disappointed with the appointment, how I had to express my concerns multiple times and not receive test results that I paid for. Today was the first day we brought our 16 week French Bulldog for his shots and the staff was lovely. Pretty typical vet experience- but I would recommend. They gave my pup a free nail trim and while they did that they allowed me to sneak next door and order a bagel and coffee! So sweet. I have been going to Apollo North for several years now and I have never once had an issue with the care my dogs or the way I have been treated by staff. My first visit was after moving to Phoenix and my dog fell on a cactus, rupturing a cyst he had. Naturally, I panicked, so I called the nearest vet office. Lisa helped calm me down, took all the inform from me, and got me into the next available appointment. When I got there everyone was friendly and reassuring, they helped me stay calm, and took care of my boy. I have never even looked for another vet even though I moved to the other side of Phoenix. Everyone there is amazing, but especially Lisa. Lisa is the kindest person I have ever met. She is always super excited to see one of my dogs, she knows what is going on without having to look me up, and she has made me feel like I'm more than a number. All in all, she goes way above what is necessary to make sure all four of my dogs are taken care of. Because of Lisa my pets will always go here. She is a saint. Don't listen to the negative reviews from others on here. Unfortunately, some people think they can tell trained professionals how to do their job and expect to be treated like a queen despite being verbally abusive to staff. Do not take your animal here even if there are no other options. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The vet we saw for our cat, prescribed antibiotic ear drops for our cat's broken ear drum. Our cat has since gotten worse after getting these ear drops. We have now seen multiple vets who have stated that the ear drops should not have been prescribed and that it could end up doing more damage. What also makes me feel wonderful about it is that the same people we keep running into have trusted Apollo North with their fur babies for years and years as well. They not only really take care or your pet, but they make it as absolutely convenient as possible to try to get your babes their meds for the lowest cost and the easiest way. They did quite a bit of research for us when our old girl contracted Valley Fever to help us find her prescription at the lowest cost for the strength we needed. In September of last year, my sister and I had to put our senior dog of 19 years down. KC needed immediate care. Our regular vet would not make accommodations to have him euthanized that day so we contacted Apollo North and thankfully they were able to make arrangements for us that same day. They were nothing short of empathetic, compassionate, and sensitive to us throughout that incredibly difficult time. Here we are a year later, my boyfriend and I adopted a 7 week old Corgi pup. He had started vomiting after a couple days of adopting him and then eventually had diarrhea and would not eat anything. For a puppy his size, we knew he needed immediate attention. I called Apollo North and the earliest they could get me in was 2pm that day. I knew my pup needed to be seen sooner rather than later but because their services were so amazing last year I agreed to wait. Gabby called me back within the hour of making the app to notify me that I could come in at 1 instead. All of the girls at the office have amazing customer service skills, especially Tami who provided service for us both this time and last year. I really feel that this animal hospital is on the ball. Unfortunately I had to take my cat in because I found a weird lump on his back. I'm new to the area and after calling a bunch of other veterinarians in peoria this was the only vet to take my worries seriously. The doctor was super knowledgeable staff and front desk were extremely friendly. I was greeted immediately taken to a back room quite quickly whether Dr. came and checked on my cat. He's scheduled for surgery next week ! I'm just happy they were able to take this matter seriously and get him in quickly. Are the enough a few hours before I text a few friends to ask them for a recommendation for a vet , and they came back with this Clinic also. I have been going to Apollo Animal Hospital since late 2014. KC has been taking care of all my kitties. The staff are always friendly and KC has taken such good care of my kitties especially my sweet old boy and best friend, Zen. Zen has been on a renal diet, had a lens luxation which we managed with eye drops, laxatives and my husband learned to administer subcutaneous fluids to help manage his renal issue. KC truly cares about your pets, their longevity and their quality of life. It meant a lot to me that he was always available to answer our questions about Zen and his condition. I unfortunately had to take Zen in after 4 years of managing his health with Meds and renal food to be put to sleep. It is a very difficult process to go through but KC and his staff made the transition extremely loving and heartfelt. They treat you and your beloved pets with dignity and respect. I'd like to start off by saying this was my vet for 9 years up until recently when Terry Silkman directly contributed to my son Rocky's last days. Back in February of this year, I was out running with Rocky when he tore something in his back leg. After a few days of rest and no improvement, I took him in to my friends at Apollo North. Before continuing, I'd like to point out that this review is ONLY a reflection of Terry Silkman and nobody else. The girls that work at Apollo are amazing, beautiful, genuine souls who have been absolutely nothing but kind to me and my animals over the years. Jennifer, Lisa, Tammi, every single one of them has treated us like family and I can't thank them enough. Without going into every single detail (like I am with the state board) I will sum up this review with Terry Silkman prescribing Rocky 6x the amount of Gabapentin he should have been on during his "recovery". I took Rocky in to see Terry twice because his health was deteriorating and I couldn't figure out why. He was falling, panting constantly, vomiting, etc. all while trying to heal from his torn leg. My son deteriorated over the course of 4 short weeks, tore his other back leg in the process, and finally took a turn for the worst on March 23rd. I brought him in to VetMed and was told from the doctor that based on his blood panel, it was very likely that the amount of Gabapentin he was on contributed to his body shutting down. An extremely strong, happy, healthy dog completely deteriorated in front of my eyes and there was nothing I could do to save him. Multiple levels on his blood panel were at "dangerous levels", and the doctor recommend that I end his suffering. My son Rocky was called home on March 25th. I wasn't convinced that the Gabapentin contributed to his death, until my sister brought her dog to Apollo for a teeth cleaning and the first night she gave him the Gabapentin they prescribed him, she was concerned about the dosage on the bottle due to how small her dog is. To confirm, she contacted Apollo and they told her the dosage was wrong and accidentally doubled and to not give him that amount. After finding out that my sisters dog was "accidentally" prescribed double the dose of Gabapentin that he should have, I did some heavy research about Gabapentin including speaking to 5 different veterinarians about the amount of medication my dog Rocky was given and if that contributed to his death in any way. All 5 said yes. Not only that, but I also spoke with someone who was affiliated with Apollo North and they also told me he was given way too much - about 6x too much over the course of weeks. What started as a torn leg on our daily run resulted in Rocky's body shutting down to the point of no return. Not only did I speak with multiple veterinarians about this, but I also did extensive research on the internet; spoke to friends who work in the veterinary field as techs; spoke to others who's dogs of the same size with a similar injury that were also prescribed Gabapentin (prescribed 6-7x LESS than Rocky); and last but not least, researched Terry's history in the veterinary field. Terry used to operate Jordan River Animal Hospital up in Utah and the negative reviews (which were many) across multiple platforms made me sick. People's cats and dogs dying in similar ways that Rocky did, and the majority of these cases point to one thing: overmedicating. Although I cherish the staff at Apollo North, I suggest you do some research about Terry before going anywhere near him. Look up the countless reviews from Jordan River Animal Hospital, you'll thank me later. read more

RUN! DO NOT WALK AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! The most incompetent vet's office I have ever dealt with over 25 years of having pets and dealing with vets. First off - if you don't have a nice, calm animal - they will not even treat you. I don't know many animals that come into a vet's office that are not nervous, anxious or outright mean - but if you have a pet that fits this description - they won't be seen Secondly, they prescribe drugs without telling you the side effects. How do I know? They prescribed drugs that made my dog loopy and she died as a result of not being clear-headed and of stable mind. Lastly, when I took my dog there (in a state of grief and stress mind you) to have her creamated - they seemed to have lost track of my dog and as of right now - I'm still trying to have her tracked down. ***Update - found out that the dog was still in the vet's freezer - 10 days later! No one from Apollo called me to 1) Say I'm sorry or 2) We understand your grief, we want to ensure we take care of your dog's body - can we settle payment? NOT ONE CALL. I finally had to call the cremation place to find out the dog never made it there. The receptionist was clueless that my dog was still at the vet's office - You call this customer service? My dog is finally going to be cremated tomorrow - I am having the cremation place call me when she arrives because I will not rely on the incompetence of Apollo North! If you love your pets - STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! If you read my posts, you will see I am generally fair and try to give the benefit of the doubt. We took our dog here recently to get her annual exam and heartworm medication. As long time animal lovers we have been to more than a few vets in California and AZ. Based on our experience we really like the staff and the service at this location. Dr. Patricia Bennett was extremely warm and helpful in examining our dog. The staffs are SUPER nice and the veterinarian was SUPER gentle with my dog. Honestly the main reason why I'm all for this place it's because they were so helpful and understanding. My doggy needed some-what-urgent treatment and the staff was able to squeeze us in and literally fixed all the problems! Prices here were so affordable so I would 10/10 recommend! Just had my old lover cat into the clinic for a dental and mass removal. The staff as always, was very knowledgeable and friendly. They explained everything to me and addressed any concerns I had. If anyone has questions on whether to get the dental X-rays, I say definitely get them. I've always thought my cat had perfect teeth with very little tartar. Turned out he had 3 absorptive lesions, which means his roots were in bad shape and could have gotten infected. If I would not have gotten the X-rays then this could have turned ugly very fast and cost me another dental. Thanks gals for taking very good care of my boy!!
