Food is definitely comfort food, big portions, packed with flavor. The cashier was friendly and welcoming. It was fun wit watch my little girl inhale the standard burger. My little boy also polished the cheese steak no problem. Apollo's knows how to make burgers! I remember when it used to be called Apollo Burger. I used to come here with my stepdad and my uncles. We grew up on these burgers and family packs. Let me start this review off by saying that I love Apollo! My family and I frequent this place at least twice a month and always bring our friends when they visit. That being said, I understand that things happen. The service tonight was horrible. The girl working the front line kept telling all the customers that the back line was behind because they were trying to fill a $230 order. She was more flustered about the order than they were. I waited 32 minutes for my food, which isn't typical, but they were trying to fill a $230 order. My food sat on the counter, un-bagged as I stood and waited for my order to be completed and when I asked about the order, she became irritated. But they were trying to fill a $230 order. When my food was bagged, something was missing and it was thrown in the bag with the comment that if she wasn't doing everything herself. And again, that $230 order. We got our food home and my cheesesteak was burnt around the edges making half of the sandwich inedible. That $230 order. I hope that the $230 order was worth losing a valued customer who literally praises this place every chance I get. My $30 order apparently wasn't as important as the one time customer who took a chance on them and spent $230. They will be back because they received stellar service for their $230. I had to stop by to see what the hype was all about. Our initial idea was to go through the drive thru but it was out of order, which ended up being good because we got to interact with the wonderful workers. The workers banged out their long lines so quickly and were great to interact with. Learned they had a military discount after the gentleman who rang me up saw my ID, but also saw they had a Yelp discount as well if you don't have a military ID. I thought their original menu was more than enough to satisfy anyone's cravings but they also had an off the menu menu. I ended up narrowing it down to Lil Kim Fries (because bulgogi fries will always remind me of back home in Hawai'i), Mac n Down (fried Mac n cheese & chili cheese burger), onion rings and then some speciality in house dipping sauces. I don't know why I thought this meal was only going to feed me, because when I got it I realized that it was definitely made to be shared. The Lil Kim fries were my absolute favorite out of everything I ordered. The burger was made to perfection, I just think the fried Mac n cheese on top was too much for me, so next time I'll stick with a simpler burger since I order so many sides lol. Onion rings were large and plentiful, even fast food restaurants don't give anywhere close to the amount they give. Their homemade ranch is the best and it may even be better than my favorite Jack in the Box buttermilk. Stumbled upon this place while my partner was on rotations here in Apple Valley. Since we're not from here, we didn't really know what to expect. We tried the hamburger and the Lil Kim Fries. Burger (4/5): This burger was very well priced, and the beef tasted really good quality. It was a solid burger, the only reason why I didn't like it as much was because it tasted like black pepper (it's a personal preference...yeah, I'm weird but I don't like pepper). But I think if you are okay with pepper, then this would be super good. Lil Kim fries (5/5): This was legit, super good bulgogi fries. The portion size is huge and I recommend getting some garlic aoli on the side (soo good). The vegetables were fresh. The pickles were tangy and delicious. Bulgogi was cooked well and flavorful. I love Apollo! It's an unexpected surprise in the middle of basically nowhere, so don't let the surroundings fool you. Everything here is made to order and for the most part, made in house. You can't really go wrong with any of their burgers. The real question is, how hungry are you and what combination of toppings are your favorite. You can really try something new here every time, especially because they continually add items to the menu. The narcissist is my go to with two 6 oz. hamburger patties, two slices of cheese, two slices of bacon, caramelized onions and special dressing. It's huge but oh so tasty! If you're a fried zucchini lover they are an absolute can't miss. They are hand battered and pair amazing with thier house made ranch dressing. I can't say I've had better elsewhere. Thier fries are hand cut and clean be paired with house make chili, parm or one of their many dipping sauces. Staff is always attentive and helpful. My only complaint is that for the cost per burger and sides, including one complimentary sauce is not included. I spent close to $50 for two people and still had to pay fifty cents for a side of special sauce. Not ideal.
