They sold me a lemon and this is the 3rd person including myself that sold me a straight lemon. Amd now they have the audacity to threaten to get it towed. I don't have the money to pay my insurance and my payment all due to me already having to buy a new thermostat and a brand new battery and a CTS. All together it has coated me 1500 down. 365 a month and I've had it for 5 weeks and I already put close to 950.00 in it. And theu won't even give me a 2 day break until I get paid to pay them. I called them the very next day and told them they need to switch it out. And they told me. Im shit out of luck. This is the worst business place ever. BUYER BEWARE. My husband recommended this car lot because he was financing a car through them. I then financed my own with $3000 down. I had my own account with no cosigner. Paid regular payments ($2900 worth). My husband voluntarily returned his vehicle and the car lot TOOK MY CAR TOO. I had been late on one payment, paid that payment and was "delinquent" on a 12$ late fee I didn't know I had. I did ask if I was to pay the delinquent amount plus the current due payment if I could keep the car since I had never defaulted on payments and was told no. They took my car because of a "policy" they have that says "if one person in a household returns their car or has it repo'd, anyone in the household who is also financing must turn theirs in as well". I WAS NOT TOLD of this policy (they say they did tell me) neither verbally or in writing OR I WOULDNT HAVE BOUGHT A CAR FROM THEM. They also had me initial items on a summary page when I got the car, one of which states "d) I understand that only those representations that are made in writing are binding on me or the dealership.". Again they neither told me verbally nor was this policy in the paperwork. I now have no car and am out nearly $6000 not to mention the parts and repair I had done on this car while I had it. Also, they had a jeep on their lot who's odometer was reading 120k, I pulled a Carfax and it was in the 200k range. I informed the lot and they said they had it listed as "mileage unknown" and didn't bother to fix the mileage in their system. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!!! I got a car from them and paid way too much. Anyway, all was ok til I renewed my insurance policy. Of course, it showed them it had canceled, and they called me threatening to take my car. Scott is the one who called me. He is rude and very hateful. Hung up on me. I called my insurance company, and she said he yelled at her too. How does he have a job there?????? I paid my car off to be done with them and he was still being rude and yelling and me saying I yelled at him. He told me if I yelled at him out on the streets, I stopped him and said are you threatening me? Scott is the one who takes your payments. I would not recommend buying a car from here. 5 days ago I had the most stressful 2 weeks.. looking for a car. To all these negative reviews you need to keep in mind you get what you pay for and they do no credit check...my experience was a breath of fresh air.. I had some minor issues with a vehicle I wanted to purchase and they had the repaired right away. They even stayed open for me to come in. Jesse and Jay answered all my questions and explained everything to me. With the down payment that covers all your fees including your tag and there version of gap insurance. I bought this car from here less than three days ago and it broke down on me within less than 30 miles of driving. They never activated the warranty and when I called them they told me that I would have to pay almost $200 to have it towed to the nearest mechanic shop Also with that being said the same mechanic shop is the same guy of the owner of the car dealership they ran off with my money and refused to give me my money back and told me the only thing I could do was pay over $800 to have my vehicle fixed which mind you I just paid them over $1100.0 3 days ago. The only options were pay over $800 to have it fixed which I've only had the car for less than three days, or turn it in as a repo thats voluntary these people don't care about anything but themselves. they were extremely rude and hung the phone up in my face and was very smart Elly about a very bad car that they sold me. I can't believe there's still people in this world who are ripping people off just to live the best life to steal from other people I was trying to make ends meet with this high economy and high rent and everything in the state of North Carolina. They sold us a car that had to have $1500 worth of work done which could have killed us and our kids! The balljoint arm went through the front tire! The tow truck driver told us that he had picked up several cars that had flipped going down the interstate due to this problem! Read the reviews of the majority of people which are all mostly the same stories!! They wanted to repo ours due to insurance just like most those stories!! Pros: i love my vehicle and runs amazing giving the year. Also, I wish I knew the two guys names that I worked with when I first bought my car. They were amazing and supper friendly. The first guy is on the desk to the left when you walk in the door and the second did my financing. I would give both of them a 5 star. Great guys. Cons: I had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with a gentleman named Scott. He had answered the ohone before and was rude when I called but luckily up until yesterday I never had to really deal with him. Had I dealt with him prior to purchasing my vehicle there I would have most definitely went somewhere else. The issues was an error in my part that was simple to fix once I personally was notified of the matter. I admit this error. However, the way he talked to me was most definitely uncalled for. I am a human being and no one no matter what the situation should ever be spoken down to the way he did. On top of that I could not get a word in to even make progress in the conversation. The following day I did not plan on it but I got to personally meet Scott. Everyone else was friendly and easy to deal with but he was once again a jerk to say it nicely. I understand he is doing his job but you can do the same job and have respect towards people. Him alone I would not recommend Appalachian. I wish the best for this man but he is not the person for that job. He is doing a disjustice for the business and sets a horrible example for what the rest of the business has to offer. yelp is forcing me to give a star but they get zero stars. i financed a VERY used car and knew i was looking for a cheap POS. they took it to the next level by having a truck that literally didnt even pass inspection aside from whatever junkyard they use to get it passable just to sell it TO YOU. within days it began falling apart and they tried to use the "warranty" i signed up for as a bargaining chip to cover their butts knowing full well they sold me a deathtrap with just enough life to get me off the lot. from that very second they were no longer liable. the owner even knew because i genuinely tried to remedy the situation in a way that worked for both of us but he dodged me for a bit and then the only meeting i could arrange was in the middle of the lobby with everyone around as they ate their lunch so i would feel awkward and he could control the conversation. unprofessional and clearly just looking to turn a buck. and whoever is signing the inspection papers should be put out of business for fraud. After being ignored,and asked to call another time. I took the car their mechanic. Rack&pinion 900$. I put the last 1200$ down I had. 3days later the fuel went out in middle of the highway,I had my hysterical-2yr old with me. 3 days after purchase the battery went COMPLETELY DEAD. This car is a month and I half old. I'm a poor,hard working single mom. I put my trust off a referral from my sister. One of my first visits I was upset trying to explain some concerns,when I thought I might be being a little pushy,I said"I'm sorry for being a *b****,when salesmen Jesse agreed that I was and had a crap attitude. Bought a car here and paid in full with the intention of owning the vehicle. Two weeks after I bought it I found out that it had major safety violations and that it should not have passed an inspection. They lied to me about having the vehicle inspected and 4 months after buying the car I have had to get it inspected on my own, paid for all the work to be done for it to pass, still havent received the title or tags, AND I'm still having mechanical issues with it. I was a little aggressive in my complaints, so I apologized to the owner, Jason. Not only was apology not accepted but I was threatened to have my credit ruined if I didn't pay the payment immediately. They deserve NO STARS. Sold me a scrapyard heap that barely moves. might have been stolen. SHOULD NOT HAVE PASSED SAFETY INSPECTION. NO horn.. no bulb or wiring for check engine light, just a ding the whole time you drive it with no apparent reason why. ignition doesnt lock so tapping the key while driving even by accident turns the car off while your driving it. ball joint is so bad my mechanic said if i drive it any further i risk death or serious injury to myself and/or others. owner said "ill fix the horn no problem".... and guess what? i bought it TWO DAYS AGO! 8 different obd codes that are cause to not drive it any more until fixed. although i could have been a bit more diligent in checking it over before buying, the car shouldnt have been sold to me and its most likely illegal that it was. this company probably wont be around much longer. reap what you sew appalachian motors. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!! i cannot stress this enough. WORST CAR LOT EVER Not even worth a star, me an my husband bought a Ford F-150 Put 3,200 down 4 days after having it the alternator went out we was an hour away from home, We got the warranty package with the truck that they provide an it's a crappy as hell we had to have our truck towed back home which costed us $315 dollars the next morning I called the car lot an talked to jay an when I told him everything that happened he had the audacity to say"Well I don't know what ya'll done when you hooked up your trailer" First off all we done was turn on our head lights an everything went to hell from there the warranty package we had only covered $50 worth of the towing we'll finally another tow truck had to come pick up the truck from my house an take it to the shop luckily the alternator Was covered under the warranty but we still paid more than the warranty company paid and it's only supposed to be $100 deductible instead we paid about $300 an the warranty paid $200 then about 2 weeks after the alternator went out our transmission started leaking oh an not to mention when we First got the truck the truck was leaning sideways so when we took it the transmission shop that the car lot suggested, The transmission cooler had to be replaced along with all the tubes the dipstick tube everything an then there was a broke a cool/spring on the left front side tire well the warranty didn't cover any of the repairs but Jason the owner did get it to We're they would pay for all the transmission work which is about the only good thang they did for us an we had to pay $488 dollars for the cool/spring Let me mind you all this happened before we even had it for 30 days we tried to get our money back an give the truck back they wouldn't do that they wouldn't even let us trade for a different vehicle oh an just a week ago we had to pay $500 dollars to get the wheel bearing changed which wasn't cover under the warranty they provide!!! this is the worst car lot ever they don't do proper Inspections on them, They are Crooked I WARN YOU NEVER BUY FROM THEM UNLESS YOU TAKE THE CAR/TRUCK YOU WANT TO A Mechanic FIRST read more

Not even worth a star. Worst customer service experience you could ever have. They're the reason used car salesman have the reputations they do. My dad went in ready to buy, had the car he wanted picked out and everything. He wanted to test drive it to pick up his wife(the car was for her). He was yelled at saying that he can't take it to her it's too long for a test drive and their company doesn't allow that. (side note she works in Asheville) Sounds like they know they sale garbage and if you have one of their cars for more than 10 minutes you won't buy it. I sold cars for 5 years myself and I know pretty much every new and used car dealer around and have never heard someone yell at a customer for wanting to take a car to their spouse, it's usually encouraged. My dad then told them they need better customer service and the "gentleman" for lack of a better term through a hissy fit and kicked my dad out of the dealership. Apparently the truth hurts. They can talk to you how they want, but if you question them in the slightest they want to cry and take their ball home because they don't want to play that way. The word "Appalachian" reminds you of hard working, trail blazers that this country was built on. So obviously they need a name change. Maybe to "don't waste your time and money motors" or perhaps just "Go across the street, your better off motors". Long story short, my dad did go across the street to DeBruhl's. He was treated the way you would expect a place of business would treat their customers and is in the process of buying a car from them now.
