We love this place. Order takeout every couple weeks. Easy to order online. Sometimes it gets a bit busy on Saturday evening.

Since I've moved to Wisconsin from Orange County, CA, I wanted to try all the different restaurants here with my hubby. Apparently there isn't that many asian restuarnts here, but it's a start to keep searching :) My 1st experience here was great. The waitresses was friendly and my hubby and I was seated quickly. The interior of the restuarnt was cozy and cute, so dining in was nice. We started off with their Papaya salad as an appetizers, as its one of our many get-to when ordering from a Thai/Lao restuarnt. But when we received it, the portion was really small and the taste? Well it wasn't my cupoftea. I like Thai and Lao style papaya salad but this just didn't taste great for $8 worth. However, our entree that we had ordered tasted amazing. I'd ordered the chicken yellow curry, and my hubby ordered the weeping tiger (a.k.a crying tiger). Both dishes was just really delicious. I love all sorts of curry, and this was actually my 1st time having yellow curry which didn't taste sweet. Their yellow curry was not to sweet and had a hint of spice in it which is different from all the other yellow curry dishes I had in the past but still very tasteful. The crying tiger we had it cooked medium rare and it came our really juicy. We both enjoyed our entrées except the appetizer. But I guess the next time we visit we're going to have to try a different appetizer. Lol Will definitely recommend this restuarnt to friends and family in Wisconsin :) read more

I ordered take out and the food was fresh and hot when they brought it out. Everything tasted great.

First time at AppeThai and it was a good experience. The service was great.. went in during lunch hour but received my food within 15 mins. I ordered the chicken pad Thai. The portion was good size.. enough for two people. The only thing was that it tasted burnt from the chicken and eggs otherwise my experience there was good :) will definitely like to try the other food items. read more

Sturdy Thai! The basis of all of my ratings on Thai food start with the pad thai. It's a staple dish and, it's my feeling that, if you can't nail that one, how can you nail the massaman curry? Or the panang curry? That said: AppeThai has a damn good pad thai. And their massaman curry is also bangin'. The pad see ew is also derlishuss... their fresh spring rolls... everything else I've had on the menu over many visits to the metro-Milwaukee area have been absolutely delectable. I've yet to have a bad experience here. I love this place. Super nice staff! Quick service! They've also got a bar! I only have one teeny thing: they don't have panang curry, which is my favorite. Went again. Had volcano combo plate and weeping tiger. Both were very good but the steak only can with rice and a small amount of garnish with a strong dressing or sauce. No vegetables and at $24, it's a bit steep as nothing else comes with it. Only other issue is that our empty dishes sat on the table for at least 15-20 minutes before someone finally removed them. read more

I saw the reviews for Apple Thai and knew I just had to give them a try. I do enjoy Thai food and had a good feeling this was going to be a tasty treat. Apple Thai is located in a mini mall and there is ample parking. The inside was bright and very well decorated. The service was very good and we were well taken care of. I started out with a Thai Sling which was very tasty. A unique take on the Singapore Sling. It was so good I had another one! For my appetizer I chose the Chicken Satay. I was surprised at how big the pieces of chicken on the sticks were. It could have been a meal in itself. They were so good and moist and with the sauces they were so delicious. I shared with my buddy since I had an order of Pad Thai coming also. My Pad Thai arrived and I knew I was in for a treat. I can eat Pad Thai everyday so after the first bite I was elated. It was exactly what I was craving and I enjoyed each and every bite. I was tempted to place another order for my lunch the next day. Good service, good food and good prices!!! Crab Rangoon was borderline the best I've ever had. Usually not a fan of plum sauce but this one is not bad at all. Volcano Chicken pretty bland, didn't come out sizzling or spicy like other reviews state. Friendly service, was never offered a drink menu or anything other than water. Overall:. Great new addition to the neighborhood good food and drinks will return. Cons: Appetizer arrived after the meal did. Odd sequence. Crab rangoon was delicious so I will not take off any stars. Secondly, noticed people sitting at a table waiting and waiting for menus/service. Brand new Thai restaurant on the far north side. Decor is fairly upscale for your typical Thai restaurant, and the place was immaculately clean. Menu is a mix of common Thai dishes as well as some interesting spins on classic dishes. Food quality was very good and the flavor was good. We tried the Tom Kha Gai soup ($4.50), Chicken Red Curry ($14), and Pad Horapa (Stir Fried Basil Beef - $15). All were good, although the Tom Kha Gai was not my favorite compared to other versions I've had. The Thai Iced Coffee and Thai Iced Tea were good too, although the coffee was better than the tea. Prices are a bit high compared to other Thai restaurants, and for the amount of food. Normally when I eat Chicken Red Curry at a Thai restaurant, I can never finish it all and end up taking some home. I easily finished the curry and white rice, so that is my judge on the portion size. Soups are $4-5, dinner entrees are $14-22 with most being in the $15-19 range. Service was good, but our server was still learning the menu. She did make some recommendations though. The bottom line is that this place has real promise. It is in a location that others have failed in before, but this place might make it. read more

This place is phenomenal. We were staying at the four points hotel across the street and this was such a convenient location. The food was fantastic. They accommodated our vegetarian diets and put together an awesome veggie medley for our veggie pad Thai. The soup was way too spicy. Spicy mixed with searing hot was unpleasant. The server told us the soup was not very spicy before ordering-I guess that is relative! The noodles are cooked well and taste authentic, homemade. They use fresh veggies and had a fantastic mushroom selection. The veggie egg rolls were also delicious. A little greasy. They were really nice to us even though we came in 30 min before they closed. Good Thai food for the location. The service is hit or miss. Their service can be slow due to my observation of short staff. So allow yourself more time on weekends. I compare all Thai food to my parents cooking and of course there's no comparison but it's pretty authentic. My favorite dishes are their fried rice, volcano chicken and lad na ( stir fry noodles). My cousin has been to Bangkok many times and says this is as good as it gets in the states. Take out is awesome. Spring roll is veggie, and the sauce is way too sweet. Tom yum chicken soup is not hot enough and way to sour. Paid Thai noodle has very good texture, but the peanut is totally raw, not even roasted at all. We also ordered a basil stir fry with pork, everything is good but the pork. I have been here 3 times so far (twice for lunch, once for dinner). I have tried the: Waterfall beef salad: Delicious northern style thai dish. Pork salad: Also really good, I liked that there was a few additional vegetables in this dish in addition to the pork. Fried chicken with special rice: not recommended. Pretty bland flavor. Was hoping to get something like singapore chicken & rice, but this was not very good. Overall, I will continue to go here and stick with the "salads". They have authentic Thai food. I've tried all the curries as well as some of the seafood dishes. They have some of the best Crab Rangoon I've ever had. Delicious pockets of deep fried dough with a generous portion of crab and cream cheese in each one. Good atmosphere and great service. read more
