October 2025, Saturday: My husband and I stopped inside the Mequon Public Market and ordered lunch from Thai City Cuisine. We shared the fresh spring rolls, pad see ew, and pad Thai. Our order was ready in less than 15 minutes and the portions were huge. I'm giving three stars because I love Thai food but didn't care for either of the dishes we shared. The pad Thai was very oily/wet and not very flavorful and I didn't like the noodles and sauce in the pad see ew. I prefer the traditional wide rice noodles. Impressed for this whole in the wall Thai restaurant inside the Mequon Public Market Wasn't very busy for the lunch rush from what I can tell for a weekday. Service was good overall and my order took less than 10 minutes to make. Over all this is one of my top restaurants inside the Mequon Public Market. Located in the Mequon Public Market. Tried their green curry with tofu at medium heat. It was fabulous! Loved the spice level and inclusion of so many veggies into the dish. The mango lemonade was also super delicious. Really good Thai cuisine! read more

We stopped into the Public Market for some food and ordered from Thai City. The rice dish was perfectly spicy and very tasty and the spring roll was also really well done with a nice pineapple dipping sauce. Service was friendly and quick! read more

Very disappointing. We ordered pad see ew and beef with broccoli. Neither was good. The pad see ew lacked flavor and the beef was dry and cheap. The same beef with in the second dish and the broccoli was overcooked. The sauce was watering and without flavor. Sorry folks, DO BETTER! read more

This place ships out a minimally viable meal for as cheap as possible. When they first arrived at the Mequon Public Market, we gave their green curry and spring rolls a try. Wow were we disappointed with the oily spring rolls and green curry which lacked flavor, protein and vegetables. Fast forward two years later when we tried it again, thinking they must have worked through their newness. Since when is chicken satay deep-fried? It was stringy, dry, hard and inedible. The fresh rolls had good flavor but were filled with primarily rice noodles with hardly any veggies. Chicken was a noted protein but was also in very short supply. Sadly, this is consistent with friends and neighbors' experiences. We want for this Thai place to make it - the family who runs it are so kind every time we go! read more

service was good and food was done quickly. Ambiance was cute - located inside the Mequon Public Market Pad see ew was okay, good portion though. Also got the N7 Yum Neau. It was good however, there was A LOT of onion.. a little too much? I also saw that for spice, they use powder chili flakes/powder. I wish they would've used real raw pepper. read more

Thai City Cuisine opened at the Mequon Public Market this summer and is run by the same people from the old Thai Bangkok on Brown Deer Rd and 91st. I've enjoyed the food from Thai Bangkok in the past and Thai City Cuisinen is the closest Thai restaurant to where I live, so I made sure to give them a shot. My order consisted of beef Pad See Ew and a pair of chicken spring rolls. As with how they were at Thai Bangkok, the spring rolls are good. I've had better Thai spring rolls/egg rolls elsewhere, but I would still get them again. I appreciate that they use both carrot and bean sprouts in the Pad See Ew. From my experience if you see carrot or bean sprouts in Pad See Ew it's usually one and not both. I like the extra crunch texture using both provides. Though there was sauce at the bottom of the container, I felt like the noodles didn't absorb a ton of it, so I constantly had to mix the dish around to keep both the noodles and beef from drying out. Food was good at first, but order was wrong. We've gone to Thai City the first time, and it was good. Fried rice and a panang curry. No complaints. Second time, we ordered a Thai Tea with Pad Gra Pao and a Lad-Na. Lad-Na was great, exactly how it should be made Thai Tea was good, no complaints. Noodles were a bit hard and stuck together. Pad Kra Pao was completely wrong that it made us think we received the wrong order. No ground meat - sliced meat instead, one extremely disappointing small basil leaf, a lot of onion and green pepper with lots of liquid, and NO fried egg- it was basically a stir fry. That's not pad kra pao in any way. If that's how they make it, please do not label it as pad kra pao because I never been to any Thai resturant they make it like that. Also, the lady tried to double charge me for the other person's order so I would be charged more and didn't even apologize. Really wanted to support local and the community, but this experience is making it hard. read more

Tried Thai city cuisine for the first time. As a Thai food lover I was excited to have a place closer than appithai which is a favorite. The order was simple and service was fine (probably 15min wait) We bought the same items that we do at Appithai to do a direct comparison, Gang Garee (yellow curry) and Kow Pad Gra Pow (Thai basil rice). Thai City didn't even come close. The food just had little to no flavor. They also got the Thai basil order wrong (wrong meat than what was ordered & no egg). We will try this place again to give it another shot but the first attempt was a complete miss. read more

Terrible food and even worse customer service. Went there for lunch today, opened up the fried rice and it has a shiny, sticky coating all over it. I call and ask if they put msg in their food and she says yes, it goes in all their rice and stir fry's. I said, I just purchased and can't eat it because I have allergies and that they should be upfront and transparent about using msg as an additive in their cooking. She doesn't apologize or offer an exchange or refund, only responds with, Don't worry, we don't put that much in, only a couple tablespoons For some people with life threatening allergies, that's enough to kill someone! read more

Everything they serve is delicious! We've tried quite a few different dishes and each one has been excellent. We order online for carryout but you can eat at the Public Market if you'd rather do that. Service is very quick and portions are great. We order our food on the mild spice level and the taste is terrific with just a little kick. We tried medium when we first ordered and it was a little too spicy for us. Just an FYI for those who don't want their food too spicy. We highly recommend Thai City Cuisine. If you like Thai food, you'll love it! read more

I was so glad to see a Thai place in the Mequon Public Market. The food is excellent! I had the chicken Pad Thai, mild spice. It was very good. I also had the Chicken Sate (not pictured) which was very good. As I remember. The owners used to own Thai Bangkok on 91st and Brown Deer where I had been a customer for many years. And the food was always fresh, hot, and good. The service was friendly and fast. They were always busy.The new location is great! Lots of tables and you can sit outside. In the summer, they have bands and there is stuff to do for kids. But the main thing about Thai City is that the food is very good, great portions and quality products. So I ordered the Red Curry today and Pad Thai and ordered it medium spicy. When I got home it was so incredibly spicy that my stomach was burning. They put so much spice. I ordered the same level last week and it was fine. The lady told me to come back and bring the food back so they could see how much spice they put in to learn from this. So I went all the way back there with the 2 dishes. I left the rice at home. They made the food again and gave it back to me with no spice because I was afraid of the same thing happening. Do you think that they gave me another small portion of rice because the rice I had at home was now cold?? Nope. They did nothing of the sort. Do you think they did anything to make it up to me for making it so spicy and then making me go all the way back there again?? Nope nothing! I am sorry but not adding more rice and not doing anything to make it up to me is just bad customer service. Quite disappointed. I would have come here so many times had they known how to take care of their customer. And so you know, i went there this last weekend and they just had a sign saying...family event so they are closed. So I guess you also will never know if they are open or closed as family events take precedence over keeping the business open during regular hours. read more

I came for Gyros but I was so excited to see a new Thai place in the Mequon public market that I changed my mind. The service was prompt & polite. With kids, it was so convenient that they provide text updates on the status of your order. My order was ready in under 10 minutes. 1) fresh rolls, 2) Tom Kha, and 3) Pad Thai (medium spice). Before the first bite I was really happy. I wanted to like it but this was not Thai food. Very odd textures and flavors, unfortunately not in a good way. read more

Food was well seasoned and the hot spices Fried rice & curry that I ordered were well done.

We ordered the Thai fried rice with chicken, pad Thai, Thai iced coffee, and Thai tea. Everything was delicious and well-cooked. The Thai fried rice was our favorite. It had a great depth of flavor. The pad Thai had more of a whisper of flavor, but sauce made it amazing. The drinks were perfect, and our food came out quickly. We look forward to coming here again! read more

I ordered Kow Pud Pak Thai rice with chicken.......good luck finding chicken ... very little chicken and vegetables and almost all rice ...it was ok, nothing special...almost tasted like burnt or old oil...I won't be back...too much rice and not enough chicken especially for $15..I ordered it medium and he hit that perfect! read more

I was so excited to try this new "Thai" restaurant at the Mequon Market, but it was a complete disappointment! This is definitely not authentic Thai food. I ordered the chicken pad Thai and there was absolutely no flavor at all! It was like eating plain rice noodles. While I was eating the pad Thai I made a comment that it reminded me of the one I ordered from Bangkok Thai, which also lacked flavor. Turns out it is the same owners(?). Had I known, I would not have tried this new place. I was never a fan of Bangkok Thai, and will not be returning to Thai City Cuisine. There are better, more authentic Thai restaurants around. Also, I'd like to add that if you're used to having Tom Kha with a little red curry in the broth, skip this one. It's made with just coconut milk. As for the fresh Spring Rolls, they are not made to order. They are actually premade and kept in the fridge/cooler. $8 is pretty pricey for mediocre premade spring rolls. After my first and only experience here, I will continue to go elsewhere for authentic Thai food. read more

Very disappointing. Echo the comment on the Chicken Pad Thai. No depth of flavor, overly sauced, no fresh herbs, and sparse chicken, egg and bean sprouts. We are back to Appe Thai! read more
