The ad for Apple Barn has been on my refrig for a couple of years. Why didn't we go sooner?!! A place where everybody knows your name. The breakfast was delicious, from light wonderful blueberry pancakes for my husband to the most decadent Creme Brûlée French Toast for me. This place rocks. The service and food are perfection. The waitress was great and the Owner/Chef came out to see how everything was ! I had waffles that had tiny bits of apple and walnut in the batter and they were wonderful . If you want homemade Belgian Waffles this is the place, make the trip ! read more

My Grandson and I just ate there 3 Apr 2015, The service was ok the kid didn't listen to what we asked for and I noticed he did the same to a couple other tables ..nice kid but he's not a waiter..I ordered a western omelet and it absolutely was awful and I'll eat anything ..it tasted like it wasn't cooked the Waite never came back over and no one else was around to say anything, my grandson ordered a plain waffle it was under cooked and mushy..needless to say I doubt I'll be back too bad to it's looks nice and clean .. Our next door neighbors told us to try it and I particularly like the corned beef hash. It's crispy on the outside just the way I like it. We've only been there once so far. It's only open a few days a week but when everything is made to order...it's worth the wait. read more

I didn't have high hopes given some of the reviews, but we were camping nearby and decided to give it a try. The place isn't very big and we had to wait about 15 minutes - but we were told we could grab some coffee from the sidebar while we waited, which was nice. I ordered the homemade hash, scrambled eggs and grilled blueberry muffin - all were delicious! (and I am picky about my hash). My partner got the sausage links, apple pancakes and homemade raisin toast - sausage was tasty, raisin toast was great!, pancakes were... meh. All and all, I will be back! read more

We have driven by here many times - and finally decided to give it a try. It was very uncrowded for a 10:30-11 am on a raw Saturday morning in April. The interior seemed kind of dingy, but I can overlook that if the food is great! The food took an incredible amount of time to come out - the table that was seated after us had their food very quickly - and were out the door before we were halfway through our meal. So something got mixed up in the kitchen, however, there were no apologies for the wait. I felt the prices were kind of high, given where we were. $4 for a one pancake meal for a child seems crazy. $2.25 for a large cranberry juice. So the food: Veggie omelet with about 8 home fries on the plate. Omelet could have been cooked a minute or so more, the inside was still a little wet. And they could have been more generous with the potatoes. Cheese omelet with home fries. The consumer loved his cheese omelet, but did not care for the home fries. Some were more well done than others, and some did have a slight burnt taste. The Reuben sandwich, with a side of coleslaw. The sandwich was thick and the cole slaw was obviously homemade and very tasty. We also ordered the butternut squash, apple soup. It was quite frankly, gross. It had the consistency of baby food, or thick applesauce and just had the weirdest flavor. It was served with a side of oyster crackers which just seemed strange to me. The service was a times attentive, but also not - given how long we waited, all with no updates on our food or refills on coffee while we waited. The music was good - we enjoyed rocking out to Johnny Cash. He was on the ENTIRE time we were there. Love this place! We travel to the area for every flea market and always make a point of eating at the Apple Barn. We love the atmosphere and the food is great. There are many members of the family owned business that work there but my favorite is Amanda, she's always so happy and will make any special order that is requested. Try the yogurt parfait with fresh fruit and granola, it's one of my favorites. read more

Excellent food! We stopped at this place driving away from Hurricane Irene. My husband had an excellent burger and a fantastic, though slightly untraditional, clam chowder. Son and I had breakfast-delicious, tender, fluffy pancakes and a ham and cheese omlette. The service was warm and cheerful but food is made to order -so not fast. Best to come early or on Saturday. They serve alcoholic breakfast drinks and also carry specialty beer and root/birch beers. They were out of avocado, hollandaise, raspberries, whole wheat flour, cinnamon , etc. Sweet bourbon sauce for waffles was awesome! Real chunks of corned beef in their awesome hash! Sausage links were burnt, but good. Real maple syrup is available. Expect a wait, because this place is probably the best in the area. read more

Because of their open availability I have only been here twice. Once was three years ago on a Sunday. Food was just out of this world good. Fresh bread thick bacon and good tasting home fries. It was well worth the wait. We were able to have a Bloody Mary while waiting that was also great and made the time go by just fine. So now my most recent visit was a complete 360. The service was fast but way to fast for a late Friday morning I was so rushed out of there and there were plenty of tables open. The omelette was very watery (western omelette) so the ham was never cooked right and the veggies were very crunchy so again not cooked right. The home fries were a mix of old and fresh. Some were burnt and crunchy and some were soft and perfect. The bacon was thin and burnt. No taste at all. The much anticipated Bloody Mary was undrinkable. Full of pepper. The bread was the best part of the breakfast. It was almost like it change ownership or something since my first visit. I can't recommend this place to anyone. Sorry. read more
