Had to come here 2 days in a row to get my phone fixed. First day wandered around the store without being helped. I had to ask some one for help and was told to wait in a line after 19 minutes was told that they could see me in 2 hours or make an appointment. I made an appointment for the next day at 1:20 pm. Upon arriving checked in and was seated where I sat for 15 minutes waiting to be helped. Matt took my information again (3rd time explaining and showing my touch screen not working), he efficiently took the info had me sign some stuff then took my phone and told me to come back in 30 to 45 minutes (Matt almost made this a 2 star review). After I came back was bounced around from person to person then was told to stand by the wall. Waited for 17 minutes until someone brought my phone with replaced screen. The setup from start to end was bad. Uncomfortable seating and forcing people to stand while waiting to get back an item that had to be repaired because of a malfunction. This is the worst experience I have had with an item that needed repairs. Bad check in, repetitive questions, uncomfortable environment, long waits, no privacy(felt a little like cattle being herded around the store). May work for people who don't value their time. Get your act together Apple. read more

Took 55 minutes to receive a replacement iPhone lightning cable. I did not have an appointment, but I also don't believe it should take more than 20 minutes get a replacement lightning cable. Really disappointed by the speed of their service, however, the representative who helped me was very nice. read more

The boyfriend made an appointment for 5:45 on a Sunday evening and we arrived, on time, to a chaotic crowd playing with Iphones, Ipads, Macbooks, and various other apple products. The store is fairly ordinary and small compared to many other Apple Stores. We signed in, hung out at the Genius Bar for 20 minutes, and Carlos examined the Macbook pro for another 20 minutes to answer some questions and to tell my bf that he needed to have it sent in. Other than the service received during the appointment, many of the staff members were friendly and enthusiastic as we were greeted several times. The majority of the staff were occupied with customers and seemed to be knowledgeable and beneficial. I love my Apple products but if I ever had to make an appointment to deal with some sort of issue, I would cringe at the thought of a lengthy wait. However, Carlos provided helpful and straight-forward answers so we were content. read more

I took in my moms cell because it wouldn't turn on. The wait time after checking in for my appointment was not bad at all. The gentleman who helped me seemed nice, professional and honest. Boy was I wrong. He connected the phone using all his wires and whatever else he went to grab from the back. This gentleman whose name unfortunately I forgot told me that the phone was not fixable. That the problem was with one of the small wires located in the charging port. He made it sound so good that I actually ate up his whole explanation. After telling me how it wasn't fixable he told me that Apple would provide me a new phone, same model as what I had for only $300 and my un-fixable phone. Sounded like a good deal but I had to run it by mom since it was her phone. She said no. That she didn't wanna spend $300 on a phone at the moment. So we left. On our way home we drove my one of those independent "we fix iPhones" stores..... my mom insisted that we stop and get a second opinion. So we did. Thankfully we did. Turned out that the young man who runs this place told me all the phone needed was a new battery. For a grand total of $65. How disappointed I am to know that at least this Apple location is a rip off. I was gonna pay $300 to get my mom a replacement phone and they'd keep the old phone that only needed a battery and more than likely resell it. If i ever come to this location again or any other. I'll make sure to get a second opinion first and walk in the door already knowing what I need if necessary. read more

I recently had the worst customer service experience at the Brea Apple Store. A female manager was very rude and unprofessional in her tone and handling of a situation where her employee was at fault. Such ineptitude by the employee. Apple support via chat had me run a diagnostics test to diagnose a problem with my iPhone. The support rep indicated that the ambient sensor and Touch ID failed and in addition the battery will have to be replaced. The rep scheduled an appointment for me at the Brea Apple Store. I checked in for my appointment and an employee came over to assist me. The employee quoted me a price for both battery and sensor and went on to explain policy about third party modifications and it was at this time I told him that I previously changed out the battery myself he then responded that Apple will repair sensor and Touch ID, but will not replace the battery. I told him that was fine he indicated that it'll take 3 hours for the repair. I left my phone and went home. I returned 3 hours later to pick up my phone an employee brought my phone out I immediately checked it to see if Touch ID was repaired and to my surprise I discovered it had not. I angrily asked why had they not repaired my phone after leaving it with them for 3 hours and the same employee that previously checked me came over and responded that once the technician discovered that the battery had been replaced by a third party Apple would not do any repairs. I told him that I disclosed the information about replacing the battery myself when I first checked in so why did you allow me to leave my phone. I then asked to speak to a manager. I explained my situation to the manager and told her why did they leave me without a phone for 3 hours and most of all waste my time and energy in driving back and forth, I was completely livid. The manager responded with a rude, defensive tone that her employee made a mistake and said we all make mistakes she had nothing more to say so I got up and left the store. I'm done with Apple, they are greedy, and thrive on fraudulent practices. Most of all, they don't appreciate their customers and don't care about customer satisfaction. read more

Ahhh... my first one-star rating. I'm going to be completely and utterly objective in this review, and try to give the most constructive criticism that I can possibly muster. ......holy sh** this branch is unreliable. I'm sorry. Seriously. In all constructiveness, if you're here for simple purchases / help on what you should buy or pretty basic repairs (reflashing an iPod, troubleshooting software, iPhone/iTouch MacBook issues) then you'll get the expected, attentive level of helpfulness that you'd expect from most branches. HOWEVER. Out of the 6 branches that I've repeatedly gone to for help on both small AND grandscale problems... this store had to be the most problematic. Reason being is that I've had quite a few terrible run ins with Brea Apple Store geniuses multiple times IN THE PAST FEW YEARS regarding hardware malfunction on various things (iPod classic, iPod mini [1st gen], and a MacBook Pro 15" [1st gen]). and EACH time, with a different genius. Each instance, the "geniuses" were incredibly dismissive of my problems and my VALID concerns with the AppleCare Warranty. Not going to bore ya'll with the nitty gritty details of my hardware problems, save for the fact that each one was a harddrive or Logic board malfunction. (I'm an aspiring sound engineer/producer... so I push my processors ;p.) The geniuses here would end up holding my gear for way longer than they say they would (talkin' WEEKS at a time for a simple act of reflashing an iPod harddrive), and would NOT contact me with updates like they say they will. It wasn't Christmas! I would literally have to memorize every name there and annoy them through calls before they decide to help me out. At one point, I had to argue the validity of the AppleCare warranty with the genius and a floor manager because their conclusion that resulted in NO repair was completely contradictory to the warranty. Not only that, but seriously... is it supposed to take a month to diagnose something as obvious as a hard drive crashing when I already told them that was most likely the problem only to be told that they can't do anything about it? Also, for geniuses, they're really oblivious to the basics of customer-service. I wasn't bitching at the guy, but when I caught onto the fact that he was telling me the same obvious crap in 400 different ways, he would roll his eyes and tap his feet like his job didn't entail problem solving. I've had my gear diagnosed in the Irvine, Costa Mesa, Glendale, and even some in Nevada and they all have better and more productive means of helping you out than offering to completely replace your stuff after they give you a headache. I know multiple Apple Store creatives and geniuses personally, and a good 5/6 of them say that the Brea branch has questionably unreliable geniuses... If that doesn't say something I don't know what will. I'm not on a total byatchfit though. Like I said in the intro, this place is good for your simple-to-moderate purchases and concerns. The specialists (light blue shirts), concierge (orange[?] shirts) and creatives are user-friendly and helpful. Just don't expect the most logical and devoted help you can get if you have a serious problem the that require geniuses to REALLY do their jobs. read more

I went to the Apple Store in Brea Mall, CA...cash in hand, with an Apple Ipad waiting there for me. the Apple Store employees/staff screwed it up by not taking the time to answer my questions and acting nonchalant and indifferent towards me as the customer. I walked and they basically lost a $600.00 + tax sale...Sucks to be them...doesn't it? To really top it off...this was going to be my first Apple purchase ever...I was really excited about this new-fangled device and was looking forward to buying and using it. Every time I walk into this Apple store [and maybe the one at the Grove], I am always amazed at the people entranced by the gagdets. I usually come in whenever my boyfriend needs accessories for or has a problem with his MacBook... and all of this gloriousness disappears when a pretentious geek from the Idiot Bar comes to "help," loaded with sarcasm and pitiful "knowledge" on whatever product is the topic of inquiry. WORST place to come for Apple Service. I would have given NO star rating! Came to the Apple store at Brea Mall 7/30/2018 and since I couldn't get a same day appointment agreed to phone diagnostic help. Got my call at 3:30 7/30 and after the rep ran the diagnostic service they determined a new battery was needed and an appointment was set for 8/6/2018 to replace my battery ($30 estimate). I arrived at my appointment early on 8/6, and checked in. When my time for service came, my phone froze (which was the problem since 7/30) and the service tech told me that since my phone was frozen they really couldn't help. The Service Rep said it appeared that my phone needed a new screen and a maybe battery around $200, but with such an old phone, (2 year old Six Plus) it would be better to just buy a new phone. I think I'm better off going somewhere other than an Apple store for service! read more

My charger is not working well so I take it in to get it checked. Didn't have an appointment so I sign in on the waiting list which they said it would be a 40 min. Wait. That was fine since they seemed really busy. But what wasn't cool was that I wait an hour and I see ppl who came after me without an appointment go before me. The man that was in front of me gets taken and then two other people go before me. When I asked why they are going before me they didn't have an answer. I want to give a big thank you to Daniel. I came into the store really upset because my phone wouldn't turn on and ATT already turned me away. I didn't have an appointment so they said they would text me so I can shop and they will let me know to come back for someone to help me. When I came back Daniel tried to diagnose what was wrong with my phone. Unfortunately nothing was working. At that point I thought they would say sorry that's it but apparently Apple gives you a new phone if its still under warranty (under a year old). Daniel got my new phone set up and working! Short-n-Sweet: Lots of Genius Bar help times, Courteous & Interesting, Speedy, Great location STORY-TIME Was about to write a yelp review on a recent pub I drank at, but lo and behold, my MacBook Pro AirPort card wasn't functioning! I can't live without a internetless laptop!! Alas, I had to wait it out until I got some time. Here's where it starts getting great. Use your "Apple Store App" and get an appointment at the Genius Bar from that app. I started looking for times at the South Coast Plaza one. Most times were for the next day. I decided to look at the Brea location....whoa. They had appointments open within 2 hrs! They were listing open spots every 15 mins! I get there and forgot I was wearing a blue shirt....EXACTLY like theirs only it was promoting my non-profit I am affiliated with. So, must of the sales reps looked at me funny, like a "Wait, I haven't seen this worker before.....wait, he's not one of us" look. That might have docked them a star, but Shauna, a Genius Bar rep, saved the day for Apple! She was knowledgeable and pretty. She was willing to do some small talk and was very friendly about it. I appreciated that, considering she was wearing an engagement ring that looked like a diamond antenna that was able to scan my computer. Kinda like a Green Lantern thing. You couldn't miss it. So I really appreciated her friendliness. Believe me, I've met my share of women who would just look away, or have no conversation points with me.... Wait, those were the single women. So almost-married act different? Hmm.... But I digress, and must announce that my laptop successfully fixed itself (as any Apple product would) and I walked out the door 15 min after my appointment time. I practically skipped out the door. I'm not going to deny I like to visit the Apple Store and play around with their little gadgets. HOWEVER, When buying or servicing your Apple product, go elsewhere. You WILL be up-sold on warranty and accessories. You WILL have to wait in line for your Mac to be serviced even if you made an appointment. You WILL wait in line to purchase something during weekends and holidays. I came in to the Genius Bar several times and one time was regarding a power cord that died. I also brought my MacBook in, but wasn't aware to make an appointment for that separately. I read the reviews and thought, no way. I should have listened. I bought the "new" MacBook Pro here. Used it for a few hours, only to notice it will not charge. Took it back to the store and I was met with an individual who was obviously hating life at 10:30am. I told him the computer had been on less than a few hours and would not charge. He replied that there was nothing he could do and that I could get a refund and buy another computer somewhere else when it gets back on my bank card. Out of amazement and disbelief I repeated his comment back to him, adding that I would need to wait almost a week for my money to come back just to I can re-purchase the same exact computer. He said: "yes, that's what I said." I honestly thought an Apple employee was going home on injury today. This place is our go-to when at the Brea Mall. Apple products are innovative, easy to use, and reliable. My 2009 Power Mac finally reached its end of life after heavy use, over 1M images edited, and countless hours of video editing. I bought s new computer online and picked it up here. The whole transaction was smooth from start to finish. Pick up was a breeze. Whenever I need accessories or wanted to demo the latest technology I would come to this store. It's also a great place to hang out while the rest of the family is shopping. The staff is consistently friendly and helpful too. read more

I get there and there's a line . No problem I get it . But after 45 min of waiting in line and seeing 3 customers inside the store and 10 representatives that are just standing there fooling around is ridiculous. Poor customer service. Went to the Apple store in Brea to change my iPod battery...they told me how much. I said ok, then tried to up sell me to a newer iPod, as soon as I said, "no thanks," I was passed around for someone to take my order since they didn't have the battery in stock. So she stood there took my email address and told me that they'll call/email when they receive the item and walked away. Never even asked if I have any questions whatsoever. As she was walking away, I asked if I needed an appointment, she said no. I asked if my stuff were going to be saved, she told me to just back it up. So I went to the store because a friend of mine abroad wanted me to buy him an ipad 3g 64gb. Apparently they don't have any in stock which was fine but the attitude of the employees were just awful. I asked whether any other store would have one in stock. This seemingly normal question somehow bothered one of the female employee and she suggested that it's a common knowledge that none of the apple store would have one available, they had never had them for a while, and if I would like to check other stores I should checked and called them myself. These people were not helpful in anyway, the attitude was they were selling hot products and don't feel the need to provide customer service, even if you don't buy one they couldn't care less. This store has some of the rudest employees! Asking a simple question causes them to have a "better than you attitude!" I walked in to get a hello! I responded with a polite hello back! (Which was the best part) then I got a look of ask me to help you attitude but without really ever asking if I looking for anything... Then the girl rolled her eyes like as if I, the customer, had the audacity to not ask for help... So I continued to walk right past her. On a consistent bases I've had less than stellar service here. The mac genesis here are a little snobby, like if I was shopping at louis vuitton store. I was told to "wait" one time when two customer service guys were talking about seemingly unimportant topics. This rating is based on my experience with the Genius Bar. I had been having issues with my headphones with the mic not working and the gray rubber lining becoming rubbed off after usage. Thinking I had to buy a new set soon, I did a quick search to see if there was any solution and...bam! bingo or however you'd like to express it. A SOLUTION.. I made a reservation for their Genius team via the Apple website. I arrived a few minutes after my set appointment time. Being that it is an Apple Store in a mall...it was utter chaos spanning all the way to the back of the store. I 'checked in' with an associate quickly and waited for my name to be called at the bar. Patiently I waited about 10 minutes and my Genius associate, Grant, arrived. He professionally apologized for the wait time and got straight to the point. I told him my issues about the headphones and he quickly had a solution. Grant grabbed me a new pair out of the box and exchanged my busted set. I said my thanks and I was out the door within 2 minutes from meeting him. Now that is what makes me a happy customer...quick, no hassle, professional service. By far the first time I've experienced how terrible customer service is from Apple. Came inside and had an appointment to just have my lightning charger warrantied at 1:50pm (appointment time) was waiting at the Genius Bar line and saw two reps helping people and those newbs (customers) were taking forever and asking almost every question they can think of to ask the genius rep and by that time my appointment time has exceeded by 15 mins and once it was my turn they denied to assist me because I was over my appointment and has been automatically voided. I tried talking to them about how long I've waited and that it will only take a minute to just look at my charger and replace it. Still the rep denied service and tried to reschedule for the same day four hours later. wtf am I going to do for four hours? I walked out pissed off and called Apple Headquarters while I was still in the mall and had complained about the poor service I received from their branch and was soon transferred to a senior tech advisor and I told him how I wasted so much time already and I should receive something to compensate my wasted time. I'm a long time Apple fan boy, been to lots of Apple Stores, own lots of Apple products, and I believe in Apple. That all being said, there is nothing particular about this store that makes it remarkable, special, or unique to the average customer coming in here looking for that personalized experience. As expected, the store was busy and bustling. Everyone was touching all the iPads and the new iPhones, playing with them, asking questions. Upon entering the store, I wasn't greeted and would not be acknowledge the rest of my time there. I would stand by several workers hanging out, not doing anything in particular, and no one said a single word to me. They weren't talking to each other or checking their cell phones or anything, but I feel like they weren't going out of their way to see if I had any questions. I have come to expect that kind of excellent service and attention from Apple Stores. The Apple Stores in San Francisco and in the East Bay (Walnut Creek, Pleasanton) have always acknowledge, greeted, and attended to me whether I was buying something or just had a question. On a extremely positive note, my buddy had a Genius Bar appointment and came early. They checked him in and took care of him immediately, I'm guess they had an open schedule (which is rare for busy Apple stores) or people didn't show up for appointments. He told them he was having a proximity sensor issue with his iPhone. They ran a diagnostic test and said they didn't see any issues. However, he explained that it was his FOURTH phone (having replaced it 3 times) and they just gave him another one. Super fast, super easy, excellent work from the Genius Bar! I usually hear terror stories from this portion of the store, but I'm glad there were no headaches induced today! Not really related to anything, where are all the female employees at? I love Apple, I just have mixed feelings about the service here. I have a GUT feeling if I were a hot chick they would have been all over me. It's unfortunate that I'm a smelly fat guy. So, I've recently become a big fan of Apple mobile products with the introduction of iCloud, and the iPad 2 and 3. Used to avoid this store at all costs. But for my birthday, my roommate bought me an Apple TV (which, btw sucks, get a google tv) and I lost the remote like an idiot. So I go to the Apple store to find an Apple remote, a purchase that should have taken 2 minutes, but turned into 15 minutes of condescending hipsters telling me all the pro's of writing your screenplay on a Mac. This steady stream of verbal diarrhea was from both fan boys AND employees. And advise coming from either of those when I didn't ask for it is annoying enough. Other than that, the store is clean and well organized, as you would expect an apple store to be. They're able to ring you up on an iPhone, and email the receipt to you which is cool, saved some line time. This store, minus the above issue, should have a 4 Star rating. They've got a 4 Star operation going. But seriously, tell all the fan boys to go back to Starbucks and let the rest of us shop in peace. read more

This Apple store needs some BIG improvements. I like and prefer Apple products, but this store is not the best. Employees make a huge effort and are very patient even though there are so many people in this store. They always have set prices and don't ever have sales which I do not like. They never have black friday or cyber monday sales. It's always the same price. This Apple store is always super crowded and literally cramped with people. You can't even walk through the store without running into people and I'm not exaggerating. You will run into people and that is a garantee. No wonder why other Apple stores limit how many people can be in the store at once when a new product comes out. I will continue to be an Apple customer but they need to fix these issues. read more

This Apple Store is horrible. For starters, I left my laptop for battery replacement which is a total of $129.00 plus tax....Easy task, same day drop off and pick up. I was advised that they would email me or call me to pick up....never got the call never got the email. Two days later, I went to pick up my laptop and it still wasn't done also the issues and concerns I bought up during my appointment weren't taken care of. Overall, my experience with the Brea: Apple Store was ridiculous!!!!! Poor professionalism, no integrity, and they expect you to pay even after they didn't do their job right the first time. This was the best experience with a customer support I ever had. I should probably describe the situation a bit, so you can understand the amount of disappointment I had before visiting this store. It may look nerdy, but I spent over 2 grands on getting a new macbook Pro. I got it on June 22nd. On July 12th Apple announced a relatively major update for their MBPs. So it was less than 3 weeks and more than 14 days (Apple policy for "no questions asked" returns) after my purchase. It really made me feel sad since "what was the point getting a top laptop on the market if now it is not top anymore". I read some discussions online and found that Apple sometimes makes "exceptions" and give more than 14 days to return/exchange an item. I decided to test my luck the very next morning and directed to this AWESOME Apple Store at Brea Mall. I got there 45 mins before they opens and the guy who were interviewing the line before the store was open told me to talk to one of the representatives inside. When the store doors were open they let people in (by the way, there was a cool activity for children. I wish I had this when I was a kid, I would be so happy going there for coding lessons!). After waiting for a little an apple tech approached me and she presented herself as Teyana (I hope I spell her name right). So, I explained her my situation and asked if there is any chance I can exchange my "new" laptop for the newest one. She said she had to talk to the manager (And whoever this guy is - you are awesome, too). After a short time she came back and she approved my request!!!!!! I was so happy! After 15 mins I left the store with the newest MBP with the biggest smile on my face. I want to highlight that Teyana was super cool about helping me with this request and she was super cool! After sitting on hold for 45 mins and reading all these bad reviews for Brea I hung up and will try the Cerritos store since they had better reviews. Sounds like Brea is a rip off and has the same answer for everyone that the phone has been modified and they don't want to fix broken screen because the phones are always "bent" so why waste hours to not be helped. Waiting on hold for 45 mins alone is unacceptable. If we don't use stores with poor service and liars and cheats they will go out of business or change their policy and get helpful people to work in the store. If the owner or manager of the store is training them to act like this heshe should be taken to court for defrauding people into buying expensive new phones they don't need. The guys here are awesome. I came in with an appointment for my MacBook Pro. I checked in and within maybe 5-7 minutes they send someone to talk to me and try to figure out what was wrong with it. Mark was awesome! He explained everything well and got me in and out quickly. The store was very busy because it was a Saturday around 4:00. I would come back here again. read more

The place is decorated nicely, but very crowded. Even more crowded on special release of new items days (where you need to wait in line just to get in. The staff is somewhat helpful, got a new iMac here once, but they didn't help me much in setting it up and installing everything, they wanted me to do it (including asking me to install the software). There are lots of new gadgets and computers on display tables that you can look and play with. Free wifi too. Overall a mixed experience. read more

This is the closest apple store to my house and I needed my iPhone fixed so I called to ask for a quote. They tell me that I needed to make an appointment and they weren't able to give me a price. I made an appointment like they instructed. I arrive on time and they tell me without touching the phone, "$150 for the repair or you can check if your eligible for an upgrade".... Wtf? so i drove 40 min one way for something they could of told me over the phone. Now Im here writing this review straight from an 21.5 inch iMac in the store. This is the first bad review I have ever written.. I'm hoping it is the last.. My daughter cracked her screen pretty badly.. But her phone was not bent in anyway.. The technician who helped us was a masculine lady in her late 30s.. She was rude and all she could say was her phone was bent and would say we needed a new phone.. Luckily, we have a friend who works for Apple and told us he would fix it at his store.. I don't want to get my friend fired.. But if any of you guys come in for a cracked screen and they don't want to fix it, get a second opinion.. I'm never coming back here again.. I would much rather drive to an Apple Store and hour away than to drive ten mins to come here.. I wish they had a zero star option.. Does anyone else have this problem?? read more

Would give a zero if I could. My MacBook wasn't working properly and was making a very loud grinding noise. I dropped my computer off to have them diagnose the issue. When I went to pick up my computer and find out what was wrong with it, they were unable to diagnose it. I later figured out that the fan just needed to be replaced, which I did for $18. Now it's a year and a half later and my battery needs to be replaced, when I took the back of my MacBook off to replace the battery, I discovered that they broke the screw holders and took the screws that used to secure them. They didn't say a word about it when I picked it up. Don't trust these people with your computer!! They'll break your stuff and smile at you when you go to pick it up! read more
