I brought my truck in to have a noise investigated and while in have an oil change and tire rotation. They weren't able to find the noise, which wasn't a surprise and not the reason for my dis-satisfaction. Once again after the oil change was completed, the cowling that is pinned under the vehicle was not properly secured and was hanging down on one side. Bad design, in attentive service people, I don't know which but it has happened now on two successive oil changes. The last time I was told I should leave it off - obviously it serves a purpose, so that wasn't a good answer. Oh, I almost forgot - they were supposed to check for a recall on a seat rail. No mention on the receipt or when I picked it up. Supposedly they fixed it in December - guess what, the only work done in December was an oil change and no work was done on the seat. Not sure what is going on there. More to dig into and more time away from what I want to be doing.................... read more

This is actually happened in Oct, but I'm a little late in writing this review. Our battery went dead in our 2015 Explorer (warranty - battery was just over 2 yrs old). We called service and they said bring it in and we'd get it taken care of. I told them my husband would bring it in next day and they said no problem. After charging the battery all night my husband brought it in and was told there was no way they could get him in. Make an appointment. It happened that they couldn't get us in for 1 week! Brought the SUV home and it never started back up. This was on a Friday. Happily contacted another Ford dealer (Hudson Ford). We called Roadside Assistance and they were able to jump it on Saturday afternoon so we could drop it off. After an easy diagnosis (battery had zero charge) we had a new battery and Explorer back in our possession by mid Monday morning. read more

BEWARE OF SPARKPLUG CHANGES IN THE 2004 F-150 Ford Pickup Truck: After breaking down on I-94, we had our 2004 Ford F-150 pick-up towed to Apple Valley Ford. What started off as a good experience with their extended Sunday service hours, ended in an extremely bad experience. Cause of breakdown was a bad circuit board which controlled the fuel pump....$400.00. In addition to repairing the circuit board, we discussed with the Service Manager, having the spark plugs changed since the vehicle has 105,000 miles on it. The Manager stated that this was a project you should NEVER attempt yourself as sometimes, in that year Ford F-150, the sparkplugs were a two piece design and they often break off when you attempt to remove them. The sparkplug change job was quoted at $325.00 which we thought was absolutely ridiculous but we agreed to have it done. The Manager went on to say that their Ford Dealership Service Technicians have a special "Extractor Tool" they use in case the sparkplugs do, in fact, break off during removal. What the Manager failed to tell us was that IF their "Special Extractor Tool" fails to be able to remove a broken plug, that the cylinder head would need to be removed to extract the broken sparkplug. Long story short......six of our sparkplugs broke off, their special Extractor Tool could opnly remove five of them resulting in the removal of the cylinder head to remove sparkplug #6. Our $325.00 sparkplug changed ended up costing.....are you ready for this.........$2700.00. The Manager should have informed us of this worst case senario as we had NO IDEA THIS COULD HAPPEN - but he did know about the possibility. BEWARE IF YOU HAVE THIS YEAR OF F-150....Google the problem.....this poor design and the costly repair is being experienced by hundreds of loyal Ford customers.......and Ford knows about it. Ford Service Managers....Be honest with your customers....please tell us the whole truth before we agree to have you perform a service. We were three hours from home and in addition to the cost we incurred, I had to miss three days of work while this repair took place. We never would have agreed to have this work done had we been informed of the possibility of a $2700.00 sparkplug job. We were at your mercy.....and you knew it. read more

Although the lobby is great and the coffee bar is fantastic, I am again less than pleased with the service. The people are typically very responsive and nice - except a couple times when I clearly got a person who was either not supposed to work that day, just had a breakup, or just plain doesn't like people.. that is not totally out of the ordinary.. but the service again seems to be puffed up to get the bill up there as high as they can. Was told needed air, seat heaters "melted" and would cost over $800, and of course some joints were going to go any day. By the time I got home, the seat heaters were working, without an $800 bill tied to it.. may have just been loose wire.. Not a place I'd ever go again unless I had to with a warranty. read more

Nice people, but you know what they say about a snake in the grass. I have boughten 2 cars here. 1: Screwed on finance, but my fault for not reading the fine print. 2: their used cars are junk, total lemons. To get them to fix or money back you will need to spend some money on fighting and taking them to court. Otherwise, live with it and sink constant money in. We drove up to test drive a vehicle we had been researching. My husband and son walked throughout the sales floor twice without being acknowledged. They then walked outside in front of a group of salesmen who didn't acknowledge them until my husband said hello and asked for help. Would not recommend purchasing a vehicle from this dealership. I bought my Ford Escape here and overall I would say things went very smoothly. They have a no haggle policy and I thought their pricing was very good. I had researched the Escape on line but wasn't sure what trim level I wanted to go with. My salesman worked with me and we test drove 3 separate cars. He was knowledgeable, patient and I never once felt pressured to buy. I was very impressed with their Pre-Owned Certified program and the amount of coverage that I was able to get. I thought they gave me a fair offer on my trade in as well. Their financing was very good and the finance guy did a good job of explaining everything to me. I declined all the extra pkgs they had available and was never pushed to buy them. I had a tow pkg added on and the service manger was great to deal with. They installed it quickly and professionally. I really thought it was a well run dealership. Every person I dealt with was courteous and professional. I can't even find words to tell you how impressed I was with my Apple Valley Ford experience. We went in to buy a used Ford F-150. Since it's the end of the year, there really weren't a whole lot of options on the lot (many people seem to be on the same page and wanted to get a vehicle before the end of the year) but our sales representative, Roger Stolley, was so patient and thorough in finding options for us. In the end, he showed us how much we might be gaining by buying a newer vehicle without much more in monthly payment. He broke down all of the available rebates that would contribute to a payment very similar to what we'd be making on a used vehicle. We ended up with a truck (new!) that we are so incredibly happy with and was much more than we thought we'd be able to get. Honestly, I feel like we lucked out with Roger. Overall very good experience. This is a no-haggle dealer, and they do appear to be sticking with that policy to the letter, at least on the purchase price. There is no pressure. One note of caution, even no-haggle dealerships haggle on trade in value - so be prepared, and stand your ground. Other than that, the salesman spent an enormous amount of time with us and was very detailed and conscientious. We had walked out of three other dealers before we go to this one just because of the way we were treated. I will give them four stars but I'm struggling with that I think it should be 3.5 stars, I bought a used car there and at first when I said I only wanted to spend like $1,500 on a used car they seemed to be insulted and like I was a burden, I felt like a downtrodden individual, knowing they mostly deal with very expensive new cars. I didn't like that. I was shown their cheapest car for $2,700 and bought it, saying they had to fix the broken turn signals that didn't work, my dad said if they missed that on their however many point inspection what else did they miss. I asked at point of purchase that if I bought the headlight assembly's that they would install them for free since the ones on the car were totally fogged over, they said fine, I spent the hundred and sixty on the light assembly's brought my car in and they buffed out the old ones and left the new ones in the trunk, what the heck. The associate I was dealing with apologized and said she would call me back with a new time to bring my car in and she never called back, a week went by and I decided buff was good enough for a car with 188,000 miles on it and returned my headlights to amazon. I was contacted about a month later saying thanks for buying the car and they wanted to make sure I was happy and she said I never contacted her back about the headlights, when I had called three times and left messages just to get no call back at all actually. I also asked when I had brought my car in how much if I bought the speakers for the Pontiac rear deck Monsoon system to put the two in, they said they would do it for me for a hundred and twenty dollars, I You Tubed it, it's a fifteen minute job. The tech said normally they get like a $170.00 an hour for labor, is it me or is that high. I know when I was a bit younger that the standard garage was $35 - $55 and hour for labor, has it gone up that much? I turned down the install on the speakers, since the two stock speakers would cost me $160.00 on Amazon and then install $120.00 that's almost $300.00 for two rear deck speakers and Crutchfield said I had to buy these speakers for the Monsoon system it's all that will work with it, I couldn't justify the purchase and install, I just can't turn it up loud or it distorts bad and just vibrates my back deck. But that's not all on A.V. Ford just the fact they wanted a hundred and twenty for fifteen minutes work. I am not upset with them besides the I'm not worth their time feeling they gave me, just not impressed with them, come on they could have installed my headlights, what was that about? They could have called me back, what was that about? If you got money and are buying a new car or truck though I think you will have a great experience it seemed like they were really nice to the people I saw arround me at the desks buying new vehicles, could tell by the big smiles and laughs they were giving out, constantly. My desk was more a lets just get this done table. Your dime on this one people, if you want a ford I suppose this is the place to go. Actually 3 stars is what I will give them. read more

You'll want to look for Mark H. He's definitely the best. He was patient as we made such a big purchase. I watched someone walk the lot, test drive, go through the financing paperwork, and actually buy the car in the time it took for me to decide about the warranty. I guess that's a testament to Mark's patience as well as the efficiency of their operation. Toby was also great in explaining everything and getting the paperwork signed, also extremely patient. By the time we actually had the keys in hand, and were driving away in our new car, we had probably visited the dealership 3-4 times. I'm not sure if car buying will ever be a pain free process, but they sure strive to make it as painless as possible. Popcorn and soda for free in the back. All of the people come to you for financing and other paperwork. It allows you to get comfortable instead of going into office after office. All in all, a great experience. read more

I went in to purchase a new Ford van and to trade a Hyundai in November 2013, in the process of the purchase Mr. Turner and Mr. McCormick told me that there was a problem with my title for the Hyundai. The problem was that the mileage was incorrect, it showed 97000 instead of the 64000 that were actually on the vehicle. So they told me that they couldn't give me the correct trade amount due to this issue and it cannot be fixed. Basically I took $1000.00 less on trade because of the issue that "CANNOT" be fixed. Done deal. Well that is what I thought. In May 2014 I did receive a title and I thought that it was a mistake and I just threw it into my auto file. In June 2014 I received a call from the dealership stating that they needed a title that was sent to me. During this conversation they told me that they corrected the title and needed it, so I questioned the caller about it and of course knew nothing of the "It cannot be fixed" conversation. Well, I didn't forget. In a nutshell, they traded the vehicle based on the title miles that "could not" be fixed and sold it for the actual miles that were on the vehicle, effectively increasing their profit. I don't disagree with them selling it for as much as they could, but they lied about the ability to fix the title. In my last phone call with "Bill" all I received was threats with the police and sheriff if I didn't get them the title. Not to be trusted. read more

Brian service mgr. in body shop was great to deal with also the tech who repaired and painted the hood and did another repair for me. First impressions are everything, and upon walking into this dealership the employees rush to ensure you are being treated well. Don't let this fool you, they are hiding what I feel are some pretty shady practices. My sale went great and everything went smoothly but upon returning months later I realized they are not the people I thought they were. I had Ford tow my vehicle to the dealership (using Ford's tow coverage) to find a cylinder had lost all compression. The dealership notified me that they wanted 600 dollars before even looking at it. Keep in mind this is a brand new vehicle with less than 10k miles and the engine has failed. After I denied the verbal contract and requested my vehicle be returned to me, the general manager told me he can't do anything to help me and that I should come pick up the unsafe vehicle and drive it home at my own risk. I've never met a manager who wanted to put their customers safety on the line. There are many ways he could have worked with me to make things right but it sounded like he didn't want to take any effort at all to keep a customer. There were multiple shady-sounding clauses in the paperwork they had me sign, and I feel the general manager may have added these himself in hopes I never come back. They wanted no part in helping their customer who had recently bought a brand new vehicle from them, and the fact that they personally appended some shady clauses hidden in the middle of standard paperwork verbiage in the hopes the customer doesn't see it is a good representation of how far a dealership will go once they have your money. Throughout the process, I felt that multiple employees were downright rude and the general manager wanted no part in keeping a brand new customer. read more

Rented a car from their service department while they worked on our car. One month later, after the bill for the rental had been settled, they charged us again for an additional amount that wasn't on the original bill. Stopped in their office to get an explanation, and no one there could tell me what the charge was for, and said they would have the person responsible for adding the charge call me back. She never called back, and we never did get an explanation. Will never use this dealership for any repairs or service again. read more

I am very frustrated with the service department. I have had my 2012 Escape in numerous times to fix a leaky back window. After many attempts, the window still leaks and they tell me there is nothing more they can do. I previously owned a 2012 Escape for three years and never once did the back window leak during a car wash or any other time. I recently had and oil change, battery and air-filter replaced. The replaced air-filter looked unusually dirty. Upon returning home I checked the air-intake filter and much to my suprise one of the clips holding down the air-intake cowl was missing. Missing apparently since my last oil/filter change of several months ago. I brought this to the attention of the Service Mgr. He had the "metal clip" ordered. I returned several days later for the installation of said missing "clip". The service personnel, as always, were very congenial, the part was replaced. All went well and I returned my MKZ to it's garage. read more

At 8:30PM I finally called them and they said my car had been done for a while, but I never received a call or notice about it at all. read more

I am rating this a one star only because of my very first impression. It will make it hard for me to want to go back. As a first time customer, arriving to my test drive appointment, the original sales guy who was assigned to me happened to have a customer with him so I got passed off to another sales guy. This is understandable. However, the sales guy - Greg Kuhlman, who I was passed off was a class A jerk. He didn't help me in any way, shape, or form to want to buy a vehicle from this company. He was very unpersonable and basically laughed in my face when I answered a question he asked. I have been telling all of my friends and family what a jerk this guy is. I had a horrible customer experience at the Apple Valley Quick Lane which is part of Apple Valley Ford. A cover under my F-150 Ecoboost was not put on correctly after an oil change and when I drove away it fell down and dragged. Now it's broken. Called several times to speak with a manager to get it replace and no one ever called me back. You call, get placed on hold for 10-15 minutes at a time and when you ask to speak to a manager they send you straight to Voicemail. Good luck with any of my future business. read more

I purchased a new Fusion last year. I inquired about a Fusion which had a moon roof. They indicated they didn't have any on the lot but could install one that was as good as the factory. What a bunch of BS that was. Once I picked the car up after the installation I noticed it was installed crooked. They disagreed. After driving it out on the freeway it sounded like a widow was open. Brought it back a couple of times after they stated they fixed it, finall talked to some low level managemnt type who tried to scmooze me and say there was nothing wrong with it after going on a ride with me. After about the 4th or 5th time bringing it back I asked to speak to the GM who agreed that the install was still crooked (6 months later) and agreed to have it worked on. Still makes more noise than any factory installed moonroof I ever heard and it now sticks and repons on occassion. If you buy a car from these guys and have problems don't count on these guys trying to work with you because they won't. I would never purchase another car from this place again nor would I recommend anybody else to. read more
