When I went on Yelp, I was not surprised to see that this Apple store had only 2 stsrs. The only reason I'm writing this review is because Apple is a data driven company and someone higher up will probably eventually get this review. I went to this store with a 7:30 pm appointment to have a battery changed. This employee with an iphone "checks me in" and tells me to sit down at a table and wait for a technician. After 20 minutes a young man comes out and wants to perform diagnostics on the phone. I told him I was just in for a new battery. He said battery changes took 2 hours and that I could not get it done before closing. I said, "Really? That's odd because I watched a guy on Youtube do it in 3 minutes." I wanted to do it myself, but didn't trust myself to do it perfectly. Anyway, the tech says sorry, I'd have to drop it off. Then he tells me if I want I can go to some kiosk in front of Burger King and the guy there can put in a new battery. So I did just that, the guy in the kiosk installed a battery in 5 minutes. Works great according to my son. This Apple store was amazingly well staffed--they must have 25 customer service people milling around. In the 20 minutes I sat waiting, most of these customer service reps were involved in conversations with each other, not clients. I'm sure the main company would not be impressed with this branch. read more

This Apple location should get five stars given their stellar products. But, the wait is incredible! I have numerous experiences where I show up on a week day (I'm retired) and have to wait at least 30 -45 minutes to buy something I already know what I want! This happened when I bought a MacBook Pro, two Apple watches (as gifts) and then get my iPhone's battery replaced. The people are knowledgeable and nice, but the wait time is unacceptable. Judging by the other Yelp reviews, my experiences are the same. (This is the same wait times that I experienced in their Mission Viejo store in Orange County a few years ago.) APPLE: WAKE UP! I purchased an iPhone online and chose to do a trade-in in store under the *false* assumption that it would make things easier versus having to get a trade-in kit mailed to me. I came in and was able to pickup my phone and they were able to do an assessment of the value of my iPhone but, they refused to take it. After talking to them and receiving some very generic excuses II ended up having to call Apple customer service IN the Apple store. Apple store employees and the Apple phone agent kept talking to each other and pin ponging between me and the employees. Essentially, I was told even though the website specifically says you can and I picked that specific selection, that they just couldn't and that they would have to send me a trade in kit. Person on the phone setup a trade-in kit for me and told me a label would be emailed to me. That hasn't happened yet and it has been days. Store lied to me, phone CS lied to me, I bought an expensive phone under a lie that I would be able to exchange my phone in for credit. just, never do business here. Do it all online since it seems there isn't problems when you leave it all in the realm of their online store. Very frustrating and disappointing experience. read more

I use an iPhone6 and the use time has gone down to 3 to 4 hours sometimes. Then I have to recharge. Then a couple days age it shut down completely. There is a known problem with batteries on older phones and Apple will put in a new battery for 29.00. I went to the Apple store in the mall here in Escondido. I was greeted by Louis who was helpful and efficient. He wrote up a repair ticket and said come back in 2 hours. It was ready on time, no extra or additional charges and I'm a happy customer. FIRST IMPRESSIONS For the longest time, I avoided this store simply because of the incredibly...passionate?...clientele. THE GOODS Say what you will about the brand-name price hike, Apple makes beautiful and functional products and sure knows how to market them. Sure there are less expensive products out there, but this company knows how to cater (pander?) to the masses. THE SERVICE Be forewarned: if you have an iPhone Upgrade Plan with Apple, make sure you go into the store or you'll end up with two upgrade plans. I had my phone shipped to me after pre-ordering and found out through three days of store jumping and online support that I had to return my iPhone 7 so I could exchange my 6S and Apple could sell me my iPhone 7 again. I say all this to paint a picture that the North County location saved the day. While it wasn't a quick or painless process, they solved a tricky situation with patience and extensive knowledge of their internal systems. THE VERDICT Come prepared for a wait for any service or product you are there to secure and you will not be disappointed. The team at this store will take good care of you. read more

Never have had a problem at this store, every employee is knowledgeable and friendly. However, this is just a tip. I needed a new air pod, I lost my right one. The guy checked me in and said it would be about 20 minutes, it was about 10. Then when I sat down with the guy and was helped I was told they didn't have the right air pod in stock. It would have been more convenient if when I was checking in they told me that right away instead of having me wait... just a tip for the store to improve :) read more

I've always had great experiences at the Genius Bar, so I was extremely disappointed in my most recent visit. Dropping off my phone for battery replacement was a great experience and customer service was excellent, until I came back to pick up the phone. The man who helped me when I arrived at 7pm, a heavy-set African American man, told me it'd be ready in 7 minutes. I waited for 30 minutes while everyone else picking up in my same time frame (6:30-7pm) was helped while I was ignored. I didn't receive my phone until around 7:30, after I had to reach out to an employee who was walking by (and was given some attitude). 4 employees later, I was finally given my phone back. The store had 3 hours to fix my device, and I know it can be busy, but this was ridiculously horrible service and communication. read more

Apple used to be the hallmark for support, but it seems their support hasn't scales with their growth. Having to schedule an appointment 4 days out to get support to them be told that the repair will take 3+ hours is terrible, especially after paying over $1,000 for Phone and extra for apple care. Recent "genius" bar appointment. Guy didn't understand the problem, went off to help someone else during my appointment, total waste of time. FWIW I'm a longtime Mac user, been to the "genius" bar many many times over the years. This review wasn't posted casually. This guy simply had no clue and what's more, no interest in helping me solve my problem. Update a week later. This is without any question the worst Apple store I've ever been to, and I've been an Apple customer since 1988 or so. I brought in a different machine today. My "genius" appointment was 30 minutes late. A woman came over and said, "The genius isn't here," then proceeded to demonstrate a complete lack of knowledge of Apple computing equipment. I asked to speak to the store manager, who doubled down on insulting me. I left. This store is simply awful. Two visits in a row, a week apart, one worse than the other. Look, if your "genius" didn't show up today, just admit that. Brought in my laptop for a touchbar repair (among other things). The solution was to replace the keyboard plate and it would be ready the next day. However, I just received the call that while they did repair the plate, they DAMAGED MY DISPLAY in the process! So now they need to extend my repair a few extra days. I come to learn that despite the error on their behalf, they didn't even try to expedite the order to get it fixed in a timely manner. Now I am out of a laptop that I need for work for a couple of days. Tried to submit a complaint to Apple corporate only to learn that they don't have complaint forms for services, they only exist for product complaints. Talked to chat support to see if they could forward me a link to a form but I'm convinced I was talking to a bot the entire time. read more

Came in today to get my MacBook Pro with retina display repaired. I had already been to the fashion valley location and had the worst experience. The boy at the Genius Bar had made faces to the other employees making fun of me when he thought I was not looking. He had been very rude and degrading and unhelpful as well. So I decided to seek help at this location. I went in and talked to Harris who was very calm and kind and very understanding and helpful. I explained the situation with him and he got a manager Kim who also calmly tried to help me. They informed me my repair was not under warranty so I decided to pay for the repair and they happily paid for the labor. It wasn't much but at least they were very helpful and were giving me something! I later received a call letting me know that even though it is very unusual for them to do this, they had called other managers, and their customer service station and because of my extremely negative experience in Fashion Valley, they would pay for the cost of my repair. I can't believe Harris and Kim had been working all day to try and help me out. They really care about their customers at this location! read more

For this store, and my visit last night, I give 1 star. Absolutely terrible service, just went in to get a screen protector for my iPhone 5... Asked where it was, and was pointed to a wall and said its over there somewhere.... When I looked, it wasn't there, went back to the same guy who was just standing around not helping anyone else, and said I couldn't find, I actually had to ASK him to show me where... He sort of walked close to the wall, and after a second, said "Oh, I guess we a out".. He handed me a card and said to find a kiosk that sells them.... Finally, a very attentive apple guy noticed what was happening, he found them in a few seconds, and walked to back counter to pay... I will never visit this store again, if this is the level of service I get. In the fashion valley location, no matter how busy and slammed they are, I get the service I expect from an apple store.... I am so surprised by the negative reviews at this store. I only bought my iMac in 2017. The guy was nice and helpful who sold it to me. It had to be preordered because of the way I customized it, which was fine. When it was supposed to be delivered to the store I had a family emergency and had to go out of town when I was supposed to pick it up and they said "that's fine we will hold it for you" When I got back and went to pick it up. They had it no problem. My second purchase was for a scale and iWatch band I purchased online for pick up in store same day. They were only open for pick up only at the time due to Covid. I went to pick it up there were a few people in front of me but when they went to get my order it was only not even 5 min. I go in there many times just to look and every one that I come across is always so welcoming. read more

We went into this Apple Store because the Apple website said we had to go to the store to do a pre-order for the iPhone 6S for Verizon. Two of the employees did not know what I was talking about...I even pulled the page up on their website but they kept saying it was the Apple financing option. After further questioning, the second employees just flat out said "I'm sorry, I wasn't trained on this." It's not like Apple has a thousand different product they sell... It was a waste of time going there and the employees there seem they would rather socialize and get paid than to do their job! Yes, I drank the Apple kool-aid. I was writing this from one of those products as you read this. The ambiance is definitely that of an Apple store. While it is smaller than most stores I've been to, I feel at times it could be overloaded with products galore. Granted, it doesn't help that there is an unusual large amount of teenagers there playing with the products which makes its hard to hear what any associate would be saying at times. While the genius bar appointments tend to be slower at this one (length in getting things done or waiting for an appt), the floor associates seem to be better informed. I prefer the genius bar at Carlsbad Forum location but that is for Carlsbad's review. Overall, the Apple store is a much needed welcome to this part of San Diego and for the mall as it was slowly dying of staleness with the stores in it. read more

Disorganized... Walk in and there's a ton of workers but who do you actually talk to if you need help? I finally got a hold of a guy and he put me on the list and said wait 10 minutes. 30 minutes later i asked if i was on the list and they said i wasn't checked-in! Just bought a brand new iPhone 4S and the sound went out. They ran some tests, restarted my phone, and one hour later they just gave me a brand new phone. Hour and a half seems a bit too long to get your phone fixed. If i pay top dollar for a phone, give us better customer service if our phone breaks. Go to the Fashion Valley location. read more

I have to say I was very pleased with my most recent visit to the Apple Store vs. my previous. The last time I was there it was to purchase a new phone (going from a company phone to a personal phone yet porting the same number). What a cluster THAT was. Each and every time I would get a different list of requirements of what needed. That being said, I ended up purchasing the phone at a different Apple Store. The latest visit was because now my son was having issues with his phone (charging issues and cracked screen). Made an appointment the day prior, showed up to the appointment and walked out with a new phone.....at a price of course. Now typically I wouldn't be handing out a 4 star review to any place that requires me to fork out butt loads of dollars (ok, it wasn't that bad and I was pretty satisfied with the deal) but I like the fact that we in and out of there rather quickly. The primary wait that we had was waiting for our appointment. Once our service representative came to us, the transaction was smooth and no problems whatsoever. The store itself seems a little dysfunctional (who isn't) as all the worker bees stormed out of the back room once the store opened. I don't get the system however it seems to work for them so who am I to knock it? Friendly, courteous and knowledgeable.....I can't ask for more. read more

Had to get my daughter's battery replaced. Made an appointment for it. Apple should make sure you know to back up your phone before coming to the appointment. We had to leave, back it up, and drop off another day (which is a big inconvenience), and then pick it up the next day because we dropped it off late in the day. Each time I was in the store I had to wait. Which is fine, but one of the times the store was empty and I waited 30 min just to drop off. That seemed unnecessary. Overall 3.5 stars but rounding up to 4 bc today the wait was short. Thumbs up. read more

I went into the Apple store in complete shambles because my iPhone 6 was stuck on the reset screen. I chose this location because it was the closest to my work. As soon as I walked in I was greeted and told I could check in to see someone. I did not know this at the time but you are able to set up appointments to be seen. Luckily for me I only had to wait 5 minutes before someone was able to assist me. I sat at the back bar and Colin (sp??) greeted me and asked how he could help. I handed over my phone and he said "ahhh I know what's wrong". Apparently my phone froze in the middle of an update so he helped me reset it and complete the update. I was in and out of the store in under 20 minutes. Colin saved my phone and I left super happy. The overall experience was great. Even as I was waiting to be seen I was approached and asked if anyone had helped me. The store is like all Apple stores....plenty of the new apple products to test out which makes waiting more tolerable. read more

Terrible customer service, stay away from this store if you can. I bought a Mac Book on line, made an appointment to meet with sales staff person and called customer to make sure that a representative could handle the personal set-up when I got there. Customer service assured me over the phone that the set-up would be no problem for me when I got there. Well when I arrived: 1) They had told me there was no record of an appointment made to meet with a sales rep, so I had to wait in a long line to wait for a rep to be available. 2) They told me they there was not anyone available to handle the personal set up. Note: I could have purchased one at Best Buy but choose to drive 60 miles to this Apple Store because of what I was told over the phone. This was explained to a manager and I was told, "I'm sorry for your inconvenience, but we can't help you at this time". To say it nicely, I WILL NEVER SHOP AT AN APPLE STORE AGAIN!!!! read more

I made an appointment for service for our daughter's iPhone and was promptly greeted upon entering the store. After a short wait, Chris approached, asked a few questions, and began diagnostics. In short order he determined the phone was not repairable but was still under warranty. He provided a replacement, set it up, and I was on my way in about 20 minutes after arriving. The customer service at this store is 5 stars in itself. Every employee that I came into contact with was very friendly and super helpful. I came to get my laptop fixed and the turn around time is what has prompted me to write this review. They had originally said they would call me in 3-5 days. I got a call back that my laptop was ready for pickup in 2 days. Helpful hint: just do not try to stop-in for anything on a weekend, unless you're just there to browse and not get anything specific done; way too busy to breathe in there! read more
