It has one of the worst customer service I've ever seen as a manager. I bought a iPhone 17 and a I watch for my wife for our anniversary. Bill was $1600. The tech sold me a screen protector for $44. I asked him about the warranty and showed me the warranty. He said don't worry about it if it breaks just bring it back. I'll take care of you. That was a quote. So I only had it two weeks and I broke this screen protector. I went up there in good faith to have them replace it and one of the store managers. I didn't catch his name said they don't replace those warranties you'd have to go to the manufacturing and when I told him the tech told me he'd take care of me he says our tech no better than that. It's amazing to me. They're willing to lose business from a older person. If I had a chance, I'd take the phone back. They lost a lot of generations of people coming to Apple Store over replace a simple screen. DON'T EVER GO WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT. You'll be rudely berated for not having one (like you're an 5-yr-old), not offered any solutions or even empathy/apologies. I haven't been to an Apple store for about 12 years. I didn't know I HAD to have an appt. I walked in at 10:45am, no one greeted me, I had no idea I had to 'check in', there was no signage. I was ignored by every employee in the place. In my first appointment lecture, I had to go back & sign in. ONE Nice rep started to help me & was back several times to help. But after 4.5 hours I went up to 2 of the at least 6 employees doing NOTHING, and was lectured again, told I had to get on a different list and that my wait-if I even got help- would be another 3 HRS. Why wasn't I put on that list when I got there? Why are these employees not solution-focused and lacking customer service skills? If I had time to drive elsewhere, I'd do it. Too bad this one is closest to where I live. Now I have to make another trip and this is a work phone & I don't have time for this. Absolutely useless group of individuals. Spent an hour watching those idiots come up with the most outrageous "solutions" that all ended with us buying a new phone after buying a new one just last year. Empty promises and luck of knowledge and costumer service is astonishing. They refused to help me pair a set of earbuds to my iPhone because the earbuds were not AirPods. Then they tried to get me to buy some of theirs. The issue was with my iPhone not the earbuds. On 6/24/25,, I purchased a 13 inch iPad Air at the Apple Store in the Tacoma Mall. After getting home and watching some more videos about pros and cons of iPad Air's versus iPad Pros, I decided the 11 inch iPad Pro was a better fit for me. Today, I returned to the Apple store in the Tacoma Mall to exchange my 13 inch iPad Air for an 11 inch iPad Pro. Unfortunately, I forgot to write down the names of the employees who helped me the night before and today, but both were very professional and helpful. They were also very patient in answering all of my questions, and I had a LOT. Normally, I set up my devices myself, but because I'm staying in a home with spotty Wi-Fi, I asked for help doing that in the store. Le Roy helped me with that. Because I was going from an iPad Air 3 to a new iPad Pro, which was a significant upgrade, Le Roy educated me about the differences and showed me how to use my new iPad Pro. He also showed me how to use my new AirPods. I had questions about some of my other Apple devices that Le Roy answered as well. In addition, I learned that Apple stores have free classes available daily re: how to use various devices. Although I am a resident of Idaho, I was so impressed with the service I received at the Apple Store in the Tacoma Mall that I will be making a point of purchasing all of my Apple products here in the future. I had a great experience at this Apple Store. Braden replaced the battery in my phone quickly and also revived my iPad which had not had IOS updates in five years. He was very friendly and tech savvy. I went back to the Apple store today and Roman fixed my mother's cell phone in 5 minutes. She'd been trying to get her carrier to fix it for months with no luck. I recently visited the Apple Store at Tacoma Mall- which I haven't been in a while. I needed to purchase a new case for my iPhone. The customer service I received was beyond what I remember it had been at any Apple Store. I worked with Jonathan, Michael, LaRoy and Lydiana on two separate recent visits. All of them were exceptional in the service they provided me! I learned a lot about the new devices I was purchasing and they even told me about a few services they provide that pertain to business development. I really enjoyed the procreate tutorial class that I dropped in during lunch time! It was led by LaRoy and I believe Jonathan also leads those classes as well. It's an Apple store and does what an Apple store does. I came here with my husband looking for a computer bag, didn't find one. They give them away with new purchases but we didn't find out until a year later and instead of giving us one, they apologized for not helping us. Thanks, Apple. I came by here again to buy a charging cord and then realized that I had other options so I returned it, which was easy. I did get to buy it with my iPhone which was cool and took a couple of cool pics. So, it was a fine store for what it was. read more

I love Apple Tacoma Mall. The people are friendly and the services are excellent. I've had the opportunity to visit all three of their departments: Sales, tech support, and education. Stepping into the store for the first time can be a little harrowing. There is very little signage, only employees tasked with guiding customers. The sales department, where all their products are on display, is at the front of the store. The Genius Bar (their tech support) is on the last row of tables, and their Forum, where they teach free educational classes called "Today at Apple," is on the cubes in the back (in front of the giant screen. You can't miss it). Some Pro Tips for visiting an Apple Store: 1. Let someone know why you're there. Virtually everything is appointment-based, so it's best to make reservations online before coming in. If you don't have an appointment, they'll do everything they can to get you seen in a timely manner, but know that they receive a LOT of traffic. They have digital queues that keep track of who you are, what you want, and where you are in the store. Brevity is key when talking to the folks with iPads - they just need a name, and whether you want sales/tech support/education. They'll get you where you need to be. 2. If you already know what you want, order online. You can pickup online orders in-store, and it'll save you a ton of time if you do some research beforehand. You can also use the Apple Store app on your phone to pay for accessories in-store without having to talk to anyone. 3. Know your Apple ID. Your Apple ID is your key to all your information. If you're upgrading, you'll need your Apple ID. If you're repairing your phone, you'll need your Apple ID. This store needs help. You make an appointment online and they are prompt to getting you seated at your appointment time, but then you wait a very long time. We waited almost one hour for someone to acknowledge us. In total we were in the store for over two hours. When we finally were helped our options for our iPad were not clearly explained. Less than a year of using it and something failed internally. She could not offer any sort of reasoning as to why that would happen. Of course the warranty expired a week prior. When we were given options we ended up purchasing a new iPad of the same generation, but she took the old one. She never said we would have to give them our old one when we signed or the reasoning behind that when we still paid over three hundred dollars for a new one that is the last generation. Customer service is very off here. The thing that makes zero sense is the requirement for masks in this store. Everyone must have a mask on, but you have people sitting, touching displays, and kids playing on all of the chairs and no one is sanitizing anything. If you are looking for an Apple store and this is an only option good luck to you! I'd drive to Seattle next time. read more

No amount of words can explain how impressed I am with the staff and service I received at the Apple Store. My issue started Wednesday night when my iPhone 13 Pro's screen went completely black on me. I was so stressed out when realizing how much I relied on my phone. It felt like my whole life was on my phone and I couldn't access any of it. Thursday morning, I went into my local T-Mobile store for assistance and I left there so disappointed as she said to contact the Apple Store or file an insurance claim. Then she had the nerve to try and sell me the 14 but I would still have to pay the remaining balance on my 13. I was appalled that to her that even made any sense. SMH. At this point, I contacted the Apple support number. I am not even going to lie after reading reviews I prepared myself for a bad outcome. I have to laugh because from the very first encounter it was nothing but pleasure and helpfulness. We troubleshooted together and once we reset the phone with iTunes, I could not remember my password. Well then all kinds of issues started. I could not log into my emails because of the stupid 2 step authentication processes. When you don't have a phone to send that code to it doesn't work. I ended up setting an appointment up which was easy and they accommodated me to make sure I got same day appointment for after I got off work. My in store experience was AMAZING!!!! From the time I walked in the reps were so nice. U have to give a huge shoutout to MELVIN for his assistance. He was a genius at his job. He knew exactly what to do. He was patient with me since I relied on my phone to save passwords and use face recognition to open everything (I know now this is big mistake to rely on this feature). Anyways, you live and you learn. End of the story is I could not have done this without the help from Melvin. I had Apple Care thank goodness as it saved me from paying hundreds of dollars. I will definitely sign up for the insurance after this plan expires from my carrier. Once in eligible for upgrade I won't be buying it from T-Mobile instead I will check out the Apple Store first. I am so thankful to your help with fixing my phone within a couple hours I was walking away with a new screen and working phone. Ok so here's thing with Apple stores in any mall location, the experiences are really based on what your expectations are. So here's a few lessons I've learned to help you be prepared: 1. If you go on a product launch date, have an appointment and don't expect to casually browse. 2. If you need something fixed, have an appointment first and also be prepared to wait when you arrive for your appointment. Also, maybe do you own homework on what may be the issue so you can properly explain it. 3. It's a retail store so expect a retail experience. Listen, I love as much as the next fan boy but this still is a retail store. Not every employee is there to make your dreams about apple products a reality. But that's okay but if you happen to find the few employees who are passionate about their products then you'll get a really awesome experience 4. Not every "available" employee is actually available. These stores tend have specific people do specific jobs. That being said, if you get redirected by an Apple employee to another employee, section, etc then don't take it as they aren't being helpful. You should take it as they are getting you to the right person. Also- tell the people who greet you at the front what you need versus just roaming around and then trying to find someone who looks available. Overall, most of these stores (including Tacoma) are exactly what I expect it to be. A retail store that sells products I personally enjoy. Keep the 4 lessons above in mind and you should be ok. read more

The best store ever! I came here to buy an iPhone a month ago, staffs there were just exceptional. They were super patient and understood how parents felt. Staffs here explained to us all the details about parental control and helped us set up the phone for our teen perfectlly. PLUS! I lost my airpods there and I went back to look( after a month:)). We had a terrible experience with the techs and greeter staff at the Tacoma mall store. They were rude all around and didn't want to help fix our problem unless. They gave various options of things that "might" fix the problem without actually diagnosing the issue. One said it would be 3 days, another said 6 but then said it would be longer because they don't count Sundays. After becoming completely frustrated with their complete lack of interest we decided to take our computer to the Southtowne store and got immediate and helpful service. We will NOT be back to the Tacoma fiasco. read more

Picked up my new phone on the upgrade program yesterday evening. Order Pick-up staff told me to take my new phone home to activate and contact Apple Support to return my upgrade phone. Contacted Apple Support today and they told me the only way to return my previous upgrade phone is to take it to the store where I picked up the new phone . Unfortunately, Tacoma Mall is not convenient to my house. I feel the staff did not want to be bothered activating a new phone and accepting the upgrade return and sent me on my way and have Apple Support take care of it. I feel the in-store staff should know how the process works. Now I have to find time to go back to Tacoma Mall. Very disappointed. read more

This is no reflection of this store but it is all about Apple. My wife's IPhone 7 broke 2 weeks ago and It was determined by Apple that it was a hardware defect and it will be replaced. 2 days later she has a working phone. Ten days after she received the replacement it malfunctions. Apple says the replacement phone has no warranty and if you want it fixed bring it to an Apple repair facility. When she inquired about how long the repair would take the response was maybe a day maybe longer. We don't know. What good is a warranty if it is only selectively applied. They showed zero interest in honoring their warranty and one of the many reps she spoke to muttered buy a new phone to fix the problem. Great idea the manufacturer wants us to spend $1,100.00+ instead of them issuing a phone under warranty. What a steaming pile of crap. read more

I've been a long time Apple fan. that seems to be changing pretty quickly. I've got a set of Airpods Pros that sound fine to me but, everyone I talk to on them says there's a lot of cracking and popping noise. I had full intentions of buying new headphones but, that went bad. I asked the little gal at the door that greeted me if anyone knew what this noise is that others have complained about. all this little gal wanted to do was get me scheduled for a Genius Bar visit. wait. either this is a known problem or there isn't... her not knowing isn't my complaint. what irritates me is the blank look of confusion on her face and inability to get someone who could answer simple questions. can these headphones be tested in some way? she didn't know and seemed unwilling to consult anyone. when I stated I didn't want the Genius Bar appointment her confused look returned. when I said that Apple was losing a good customer one visit at a time. she had a serious "who cares" kind of look. Buying accessories- it was mildly busy when I came in after 6pm. I am not sure if I wanted to purchase an actual product how that would have gone but after purchasing usb c to usb was super easy. Got checked out right away. Tiffany was super nice and efficient. Accessories are located at the back left corner. That was the only thing I had to find on my own. I had a small crack in my screen and initially came in to get it fixed two weeks ago. Unfortunately for me, someone other than me used my AppleCare (AC) insurance. I know this is not the stores fault, not the technicians fault yet it still made it impossible for *ME*, the payer of the AC insurance AND the user of the iPhone to obtain care for my device. Through diligence, kindness (again remember not the technicians fault) and persistence, I am now walking away with my newly screen-replaced iPhone...with a newly purchased screen saver. URGENT MATTERS, NEW PHONE While in travels and walking the Tacoma waterfront and away from familiar grounds, my phone completely crapped out on me. I had rushed to the closest Apple store without an appointment and was quickly seen. Waited in line for 5 minutes and then got my temperature checked and was able to be helped immediately afterwards. Got a new phone within 30 minutes but was sent on my way 1) without setup because for some reason they won't do setup at the store 2) couldn't get to a backup unless I was connected to WiFi - again away from familiar grounds 3) completely disconnected from old phone and new phone for about 1hr - while traveling my phone was blowing up with hundreds of messages and many missed calls. Getting a new phone and still being disconnected was SO inconvenient. Later, I realize I got the wrong phone. I ended up coming back and doing a full refund to get the right phone. This time the person who helped me let me set up the phone in the store - only took 15/20 minutes so I wouldn't be completely disconnected. OVERALL, happy with customer service. I was having trouble with my AirPods purchased well over a year ago and out of warranty. After some online research I found out that because of the issues I was experiencing I might qualify for a free replacement. So the other day I took them into the Tacoma Mall Apple Store for testing after making an appointment beforehand. I arrived about 30 minutes for my appointment but got in line anyway since there wasn't anyone outside to check-in with. When I got to the counter I explained that I was early but the technician said no worries and inquired about my problem. After explaining the problem she connected the case with the AirPods inside to a dongle and ran a test, shortly thereafter saying she would get a replacement pair and within 5 minutes I was on my way with a new pair of AirPods. That's what I call great customer service and standing behind your product. Thank you very much Apple! read more
