I was asked to bring my son's in early and sadly after years of going we will never be back. Not only were they packed and over booked I was told the boys were next to watch 5 patients go ahead even walk ins and we had an appointment. We were so loyal we drove 85 miles out of our way to go there after we moved ten years ago. The lady at the front counter was so rude and unprofessional. When I asked how much longer she seemed offended. They were actually doing x-rays and sending people to the lobby they were so booked. Yet I still waited another hour. That is on me. read more

This place has me mixed emotions , everyone was nice and welcoming. Dr. was okay could have been more friendly since this is a children dentistry he was more straight forward. I've visited this office a few times , and unfortunately, one of the front staff has been somewhat disappointing. The front girl tends to focus her conversations on personal topics, often discussing her family and husbands personal life and living situation loudly .(feels like she doesn't mind everyone knowing her personal business and family's poor behavior) While i understand that everyone has their own thing going on professionalism should be kept in a work environment and mostly when kids are around( or at least discussed quietly) . I don't want to leave the name because i highly think this is an easy fix for this office to thrive and maybe instead of scrubs everyone wear more professional outfits in the front . I really hate to leave this review but calling management was a long shot i don't want to get anyone in trouble hopefully after reading this they can help each other get it together. I have taken my kids here for years but have noticed a major decline in treatment. Getting there on time for a scheduled appointment to then have 20 minutes pass to only listen to the receptionist talk about how she is all alone. Nobody is here. Nobody has called her as you're sitting in there waiting for your appointment then proceeding to watch the Doctor and the staff slowly come in late like my time has no value. Then proceed to put you in a chair and expect you to wait another 20+ minutes with no communication about what's going on. There is only one Doctor so they scheduled too many people so expect to sit there for a ridiculous amount of time absolutely terrible communication. I have pulled my children and will never be back there and I do not recommend taking your kids there. read more

I've been taking my six kids to Dr. Ko for the past fifteen years. He is so gentle with them, they actually enjoy going to the dentist. He always asked them how they're doing, how they like school, etc. I would recommend him to anyone looking for an excellent dentist who cares about children. read more

Long overdue review. We come here for Ortho (braces) appointments and they run at least 30 mins past their appointment times (sometimes up to an hour). They seem to run late about 95% of the time. We have tried scheduling both early and late appointments and doesn't seem to help. I'm not able to comment on other sort of appointments but I would assume they run late given that there is only one dentist here. read more

Where do I start? Cleanliness: The waiting room gets a 3/5. It's usually clear of unnecessary papers and junk. However, in my years of going the only time it actually feels sanitary is if you get there in the early AM. Staff: I have never had an issue with the receptionist. The ladies that take the XRAYS - (which could be any of them) are usually friendly. However, once your child is seated in the back not all but some of the hygienist are so rude. They seriously don't realize that it may be the wrong day when they're a little too rough or condescending with my child that I will address them directly. And yes, I've complained to supervisors before. Why am I still there? Initially, I had a really great dental package with my employer and the doctor was all smiles and very accommodating. To no fault of my own our company chose a different dental coverage and now I fee like we are just numbers. The doctor doesn't communicate and if you ask him questions he has this response as if you are genuinely bothering him. Sometimes his own staff looks like they're afraid to ask him questions. Time to get an appointment: they double book so sometimes there is a wait... but I honestly haven't had to wait as long as others I have heard about. When you call they say can u please hold ? They place you on hold for about 45min . They text you every other day for a whole month reminding you of your appointment and asking you to confirm because if you don't make the appointment and don't call 24hrs in advance you can't book with them anymore. They rescheduled me 2 times! And still I have not been able to get seen. Why set my appointment and then call me saying the office will be closed you didn't know the damn office would be closed when you set the appointment???? I am writing this review to alert parents of this dentistry. My son was referred to this location and obviously the fillings were done wrong. When I called them to notify my son was in pain, I took him in that same day, and they "found nothing." His cheek was swollen, gums red, and obvious infection, but they found nothing wrong. Had to go to another dentist to do 2 separate emergency procedures. Yes, there was an infection and had to extract his tooth. As a parent this is to painful, and urge parents to take your kids elsewhere. read more

I have been going to this dentist for a little over a year. At first I was very happy with the dentist. Then my 18 year old went there and pretty much came back crying saying the dentist was rude. I told her I had a great experience there. Then I took my 8 year old there. She is afraid of the dentist. When he came to sit down to work on her. She started to cry. Instead of trying to console her.. He got right up and went to help another patient. We waited 45 min for him to come back. Then while working on her. He must have had a new dental assistant helping. while she was helping he was literally yelling at her that she was handing him the wrong tool. I was so embarrassed for her. I would have quit if I was her. It's sad because I referred this dentist to many of my friends since my experience in the beginning was a good one. I think he needs to reevaluate how he comes across to others before working with kids and other patients. read more

I have gone to Dr. Ko for years, but in recent years he has become unprofessional and rude. He started orthodontics and now is a know it all. I went to a different orthodontist, needed to consult him regarding bridges, to which he told me my ortho was "an idiot" - his exact words. She has been an ortho for over 20 years, but he felt he knew best--or was just offended I did go through him for ortho. Regardless, we have switched to a new dentist because of Dr. Ko's unprofessional demeanor and lack of adequate care. However, his staff are all amazing and we will miss them! read more

I didn't really interact with Dr. Ko on my daughter's first visit. I stand by the fact that his staff is amazing, kind, and sweet. Sadly, this staff is more kind to the patients than the actual D.D.S. Using a drill on a 4 year old is a scary experience. He made no effort to warn her before drilling in her mouth. I wasn't even aware he started drilling away until he placed the drill back in the holder after he told me to come "hold her arms down". When I made it known to him that I wasn't pleased that he was using a drill on her with zero warning, he shot back with rude comments and stated that she wasn't feeling pain, just "acting up". If becoming frightened because someone just started drilling on your teeth without explaining the sensation and noises you will hear is "acting up", then I'm sure there are plenty of ill behaved children walking into that office. read more

Dr. Ko is extremely smooth. Over the past year he has taken care of my whole family. I tried many dentists and none of them could get my crown correct. He nailed it. My wife had braces and it was never right. Went to Dr. Ko and he fixed her up! read more

Updated review: I am really unhappy with my visit to Apple Tooth, which is why my 5 star review has dropped to 3 stars- (I'm actually in the parking lot right now). The receptionists were rude and unhelpful today for whatever reason. I'm an adult and I've been seeing Dr. Ko for years. He's an excellent dentist and his new facility is beautiful. He is friendly and doesn't try to scam you into getting unnecessary work that other dentists try to get you to do. read more

I don't recommend this place to anyone! The facility however is nice& well kept but everyone working in the back should consider a new profession. All the assistants & the doctor himself does not take pride in their work, you could notice it in their demeanor. I have a child with autism & the doctor was beyond rude to my son who couldn't comprehend him. He literally walked in to start work& the minute my son squirmed, he lowered the chair& immediately left without a word to assist another patient. I was so furious, i left without saying anything. I would never want any service from him again. The only pleasant experience i had was the polite ladies at the front desk & the lead xray tech. Im surprised because THIS IS A CHILDREN'S DENTIST! How the hell you don't have patience? Im almost positive this is taught in the curriculum when obtaining the appropriate license for work. My advice, go to Desert Dental Group Children's Center. If it was possible to give 0 stars, I would. I went in to get some cavities filled after not getting any cavities since I was a little kid. I believe that this dentist is very biased because his tone was completely different today than from all the other times I went in. He was very rude today and he used to be all cheerful with me. I guess he just thinks less of people that don't have perfect teeth. He gave me the numbing shot and then cancelled the entire appointment less than a minute later because he thought I was ignoring him, when I wasn't. I've waited for this appointment for 3 weeks and live 30 minutes away. I do not recommend you bring your child to this dentist. The dentist is a scary place for kids and Dr Ko and his staff make it even worse. The person doing Xrays thought it was ok to grab my four year old granddaughter by the arm and then was aggravated because she moved , she is a four year old child and an adult grabbed her..this is not ok. The dentist did not go over the xrays he did not say hello or even try and seem like he cared. He said she has 4 cavities and needs to come back. This guy is delusional if he thinks we would bring her back there ever. It takes kindness and patience to treat children this is not the place. I really hate to think about any other child being treated so badly. We've been with Dr. Ko since I was a kid (over 10 years.) His assistants are amazing and extremely helpful but, We're now switching dentists due to his neglect to his patients. My parents now have to pay thousands to fix and save their teeth due to bone loss that he NEVER brought to their attention. This man doesn't even give his patients the time of day. When I had my wisdom teeth pulled by a specialist he recommended, I came back with issues and needed to have two operculectomy procedures done by him and all he did was stick up for that specialist and barely even looked in my mouth. He's rude, impatient, and his negligence towards his patients is sickening to say the least. read more

My daughter had a small cavity less than a year ago and I got it filled at this office. I decided to go to another dentist because my daughter was having tooth pain in the same tooth that had gotten fixed. Come to find out she still had a cavity in that same tooth that they had supposedly fixed. The cavity had gotten to the point where the tooth got infected. She had to get the tooth removed because the cavity was not fully fixed the first time and it had gotten worse. It was a terrible experience the dental assistant who took my daughters xrays and cleaned her teeth was very rude and impatient, they did not know how to work with children I would not recommend this dentist. read more

We had been patients for many years. The last year that I have been to this office it has been a nightmare. The dental assistants that have been there are amazing, except for one that is there, she is horrible with kids. My kids are well behaved and like I said they have been going to this dentist for over 9 years. I don't know what is going on in this guys life, but he went from being an excellent children's dentist to absolute intolerance for children. My 4 year old needed to have a tooth filling and the first time he came in he explained what he was going to do. She got scared as he began spraying cold water on the tooth. He moved back and then walked away for the assistant to handle it. Second time around, he told her you are 4 years old and you keep playing with me saying you are going to let me do it and you don't. His assistant was very patient and cordial trying to explain that it would not hurt. I felt tense by now because I felt that from the dentist. He came back one more time as my daughter tried one more time. She had mentioned that by now she was sleepy, hungry and tired. Our appointment was at 5 and was not seeing until 6:15. By now, when he came back and did not cooperate he said, "I can't believe a 4 year old is playing with me." I was very upset. I should have walked out after letting him know that he is very unprofessional and not fit to help children. I will never fo back to this office and he lost 4 loyal clients because he does not care about his patients emotional well being. You expect children to act like adults? You are not even emotionally equipped to wait on them. read more

Dr Ko is very rude and unprofessional. I wrote a review months ago but somehow it got crossed on a different dental office page and not here where it belonged. To be a children's dentistry he is very impatient with children and not at all gentle. My daughter was 4 years old and in need of a root canal, he threatened to not work on her teeth after we waited 2 hours into her appointment because she was scared of the big needle. Now it seems that for cases like this a professional would sedate the child or utilize something to make them feel more comfortable with such an invasive procedure. Well not this guy after constantly leaving the room and me insisting for him to do the work after I had already taken off work for the visit and they caused her much discomfort with excessive xrays & a deep cleaning I told the nurse that this was unacceptable from a children's dentistry & better care was expected with such a small fragile child. Dr. Ko threatened to evict me from his office accusing me of threatening his staff & being rude to his staff, when no one was rude and I'll mannered but him! This doctor has no filter and will talk down to you and disrespect you and not care! I have never been to such a children's dentistry and experience such behavior from a doctor. This guy needs a new profession or to change his practice from children's ortho. By the way my daughters dental work was never completed and now is much worse. I will be taking her to a real pediatric dentist in apple valley, I'm just sad that now she has to have more than one extraction bc the cavities have now hit the nerve. The dentist here is very rude! And disrespectful!! One of the dental assistants was also rude and had an attitude problem! The patient restroom was unsanitary, there was a dead roach on the floor by the toilet. The restroom smelled like poop , there was no soap to wash your hands and the trash was filled to the top and there was poop all over it! Don't go here it's not worth your time and energy. read more

first off the office staff is amazing and kind. their so sweet with the children and have so much patience's. But doctor Ko is rude and inpatient with the children. my son was getting work done today and Ko squeezed his jaw and didn't even wait for the numbing cream to activate before he gave my son the shot. when my son was screaming in pain he didn't stop and didn't comfort him at all. I also saw how he treats his staff and talks to them like shit in front of patients. I felt so bad for the lady that worked there. its unfair to be talked to and embarrassed by your boss in front of patients like that. the office manager is a joke and a liar telling me she's the only person I could make a complaint to I was so mad and upset and didn't push the issue all she offered me was a blank stare and a tight lip apology. but when I got home I found out who you can make a complaint to and will be doing just so. I am very upset with the treatment this place has given me and my children, I took my baby girl in as an emergency appointment because her tooth was in a lot of pain and as we waited for the doctor, my son opened the snapchat app on his phone to show me something for 2 seconds and the receptionist walks past us and addresses the fact that we are not allowed to record or photograph while being seen by the doctor. I kindly responded and said "Oh yes I understand, he was just showing me something, there were no pictures taken" she rudely repeated that there was no pictures or recording allowed as she rudely handed me the agreement I signed in our first visit here. I was not looking to cause any commotion so I just let the issue go, then when I went up to the front desk to reschedule they handed me the agreement again and said I needed to look for a different dentist because I had "violated the rules." I was astonished that this receptionist was making such a big deal over the fact that my son took his phone out for 2 seconds, but I was still very professional with them despite the fact that they were being so rude. So I said "Ok I understand I will look for a different dentist, I'm just hoping you can take care of my daughter now because she's in a lot of pain." She was so inconsiderate of the situation and continued being rude. I do not and will never recommend this place, they handled the situation very unprofessionally. read more
