Veteran's Day! 6:30 pm. Place was packed. Wait time was approximately 10 minutes. Got seated and waitress took our order very quickly. We received our food in a decent amount of time. It was very delicious. Wonton tacos are my go to. Other meal was Fiesta Lime Chicken with rice (free Veteran's meal). It wasn't overly noisy, restaurant was clean. Waitress took about 30 to come back with our bill. She apologized that she got out back and was just talking. My response was "that's not nice". I was disappointed after a long day of traveling to wait so long for her to come back with our bill. Restaurant wasn't even busy by then. You can never go wrong with Applebee's! This is one of my favorite spots to go because it seems like their menu has something for everyone. Burgers, chicken, steak, plenty of appetizers and drinks. Always plenty of staff working so wait times are usually minimal. They also have a nice bar area if you just want to stop in and get a drink and appetizer. I've never had any bad experiences here. read more

You always know what to expect when you go to an Applebees. It isn't a fine dining experience but the food is good, cheap and always the same. Some of my favorites are the mozzarella sticks, spinach artichoke dip, chicken penne pasta and the chicken and shrimp dish. Their 2 for 32 with two meals and an app is a great deal. We went late on Friday night with a party of 4 and it was a good experience. It was Happy Hour, so we took advantage of the half price apps and drinks. We ordered the quesadilla, wings, nachos, pretzel bites, spinach and artichoke dip, Riblets, fried mozzarella, and a Beef Dip sandwich. All were well prepared and tasty. The service was good, with the exception that the waiter did not seem interested in clearing empty plates, so they sat on the table until we left. The HH drink prices were outstanding! First off budget is clearly down due to the fact that the cups are now made out of microplastics that are scratched and i know for a fact aren't being cleaned throughly. Second the bathroom doors are now frosted not very private. Third of all i ordered the shark bowl and to my surprise my drink was given to me without the blue gummy shark on top. We were staying in Bangor for the night last night and wanted to grab dinner to go so we could relax at the hotel for the night. The food was awful-- when we got back to the hotel both entrees were cold. Ribs were so dried out they barely came off the bone, French fries were cold as well. The cold salmon had good flavor but again cold. I had ordered the ribs and after trying one or two fries- at the bottom of the container- I threw them out- the ribs were so dried out They got tossed as well after just two. Applebees surprised me because we done there often at home and while traveling but this location just didn't have their act together. Would not recommend you waste your money there. read more

Ordered through the Doordash app a salad. I asked for no chicken and no tomatoes and add cucumbers as I am allergic to tomatoes and did not want meat. They did not make it the way I requested. Supposedly spoke to the manager, the only way I could get it fixed is if I drove there to pick up a new one. Nothing was offered to fix this. I was only told that corporate would be informed. Anyone who has ever been to an Applebee's doesn't need to be sold on their extensive menu serving anything ranging from burgers and wraps, to creative salads and their infamous Weight Watcher's menu. You can satisfy even the pickiest eater's appetite at Applebee's and the whole family can have a good time whether drinking wine and margs or strawberry lemonade and soft drinks. However, this specific location is ill-equipped to handle all of the appetizer sampler loving people in Bangor. My husband and I came on a Sunday and while the restaurant was very full, it was still not at capacity. We were seated promptly and not visited by our waitor for almost 5 minutes, though he walked by our table roughly once a minute. Our orders came out extremely slowly and often were delivered by someone other than our waiter. Our waters were not filled promptly and my husband's order was completely wrong (he ordered a salad and was given a chicken breast). I noticed our waiter was serving not only our side of the restaurant but also a few tables on the other side of the room. The waiter/waitress set-up seemed wonky and inefficient. Despite this visit taking much longer than anticipated and despite the food mix-up, the food was delicious (Roma steak was amazing) and it's an affordable way to dine with a family, a date or a birthday group in Bangor. read more

I had a bout with gallstones in May so I had change my diet significantly. It really truncated the number of favorite places I could out to dine. Fortunately Applebee's has a terrific plate of grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and broccoli. I had to forego the mashed potatoes which contain saturated fats. As soon as I tried the broccoli I knew by have savory it tasted that it had to prepared in butter. It was confirmed. The waitress recommended a steamed broccoli replacement and even a double portion with a seasoning agent. The manager came to visit and learn of my situation then confirmed that the suggested steamed broccoli would be a safe way to go; she actually prepared it herself. Applebee's became my favorite safe place to dine out for several months. It's close in Bangor and we usually don't wait more than 10 minutes to be seated. Before my bout with gallstones our favorite dessert at Applebee's was the lava cake with vanilla ice cream! I recommend it to anyone that's dealing with dietary issues. For atmospheric considerations it has a nice bar section and flat screen entertainment throughout the dining area. It might get a little loud on occasion but not as loud as a sports bar. read more

Friday October 1st, ordered online at 5:50 pm for pick up at 7:10 pm. We arrived at 7:20 pm and texted that we had arrived for pick up. 15 minutes later we had not received our food so we called to tell them we had arrived. We finally received our food at 7:45 pm. We were travelling so we ate in the vehicle as we moved. We ordered a bacon cheddar grilled sandwich with fries and an oriental chicken salad. Upon leaving the parking lot I bit into my grilled sandwich and it was cold. Upon closer inspection, the receipt showed that the order had been rung out at 6:54 pm. So basically it sat for about 50 minutes before being brought out to us. I understand you may be busy but if your Manager can't manage both curbside pick up and inside service then you should get someone who doesn't only focus on one thing. Extremely nasty experience. Went in around 7pm tonight, our bartender who goes by the name Bruce , said he hadn't cleaned the bar all night. It was covered in stickyness and he was reluctant when we asked if he could clean it. He then continued on to ignore us while he flirted with his female guests. At one point he actually commented on one of her nipples and other sexual things. There were children everywhere. He also threw my ID at me when I ordered a drink. It was at this point I walked out. Wanted to go to Texas Roadhouse for my son's birthday, but the 90-plus minute wait time put us at Applebee's. This is my first visit to an Applebee's and I was pleased! There was a 15-20 minute wait for our table of 4. The hostess was very good at finding each party, including going outside to be sure the party heard her announce their table was ready! Good job! My wife's margarita was good but they didn't have a couple of the beers listed in the menu, unfortunately. The waiter, though, was very apologetic (nice of him :)) The food was very good - appetizers were yummy though the "hot as habenero" buffalo wings were quite mild. The tilapia was excellent and my sons' steaks were as well, or so they said so. All items on the menu had the calorie count listed - some of the counts were very shocking! This *absolutely* influenced my order. But in a good you-should-know-better-than-to-order-that kind of way. I really really wanted the fish n chips... Loved the serenading waitstaff at dessert time (son's birthday, remember? :)) though my son would disagree with me on that one. Oh and the waiter said 'you're welcome' instead of 'no problem' when we thanked him. That goes over big with me. Yeah, I know. I should get over it :) Bottom line: good food, friendly staff & reasonable prices. Listing the calorie count right on the menu was a plus for me, though perhaps not for everyone. read more

My husband went here on Veterans Day as him and his combat buddy do every year. Applebee's offers free meals to vets on this day... While sitting at the bar ordering his food, he told his friend that he should try a different entree as he had it before and wasn't the best. The employee behind the bar then spoke up and said "you're getting your meal for free so you shouldn't say anything." ABSOLUTELY UNCALLED FOR. My husband was speechless. When he got home and informed me of this, I was tempted to call them myself however it probably wouldn't do much good. I came as a party of 6, arriving at 5:40 pm and Was told there would be a 15 minute wait (which is fine) however we waited for almost 40 minutes to be seated... then it took at least 10 minutes for anyone to greet us and take our drink orders. After our orders were taken, it took another 10 minutes to receive said drinks. So at this point it's been about an hour and a half and we finally get our appetizers. It is now 730 pm and our food JUST arrived.... we have been here for 1 hour and 50 minutes with bored and whiney children. I understand a Friday night can be busy, but I have never been so disappointed in Applebee's before and wish that I had turned away instead of waiting :( read more
