I don't usually write reviews for chain restaurants, but I had a really great experience dining here! My friend and I came here on a Thursday night at 6:30pm. While it was busy, we were able to get a table right away. We split the 2 for $35 deal (1 appetizer + 2 entrees). For our appetizer, we shared the boneless buffalo wings. While I prefer a bone-in wing, these were still very good. For our entrees, we ordered the Bourbon Street chicken and shrimp skillet and the "Oriental" chicken salad. The skillet was good; you could choose the side it came with but we opted to stick with the mashed potatoes (default). The dressing on the salad was a bit sweet for my taste, but overall it was still good. It feels like most chain restaurants aren't even affordable anymore. Not so with the 2 for $35 deal. We even took home leftovers. What stood out to me was the great service! Our waitress and the host were both so nice. 10/10 Applebee's meal. read more

This is my first time me coming here. I have to make a complaint about here. I've been coming here for over 10 years. The food was trapped and the food was cold. We order some food and we never have no complaints coming here to eat to me. This is the best Applebee's in NYC. And all 5 barrels. The staff are very good no complaints about the staff but the food today trash I don't know who's the manager in there today they need to make sure food better job with the staff. 1st things 1st - I kinda gave up on this joint bc... well, lackluster. It's a new day! Things have changed and in a good way. Did they update the menu? The food was way better than I remember. When I tell you we didn't leave any remnant of those nachos- they were so yummy. The chips were light and the fixings properly proportioned making every bite a delight. The dish could have use more flavor but not to waste. I packed it to go and dressed it up some when I reheated. The staff is youthful and energetic, keeping up where their neighborhood mantra. I you told me this is the flagship Applebees, I would say of course! Great food and great service. The bathroom is spotless which makes you feel good that the kitchen is probably too. I come to this place often and I came again tonight. I sat at the bar and ordered dinner and a perfect margarita. When I ordered the drink, it came very quickly and the bartender is not the one that gave it to me. Another employee brought it to me. I didn't really think anything of it. I drank it and it did not taste good. Afterwards I asked the bartender what kind of liquor it was and told her the drink was not good. She said 1800 and asked what it tasted like. I told her watery mixed with something else in it. She nodded her head as if she already knew there was something wrong with the drink. I got a headache about 15 minutes later while still eating my meal that has not stopped. My head is pounding and it's been about 5 hours. I did notice that the drink was not on my bill when it came. I just called the restaurant to try and make some sense of why my head would be pounding like this. I asked the manager if she can find out from the bartender what was wrong with the drink and she immediately got defensive and said basically oh well. She said you left the building without speaking to a manager and told me I can't prove the drink is the reason I have a headache. She clearly did not care and started with an attitude. I was confused as to why she took that stance. I wasn't screaming or yelling or nasty to her. I just wanted her to ask the bartender about the drink. The wait time was 30min to sit in and I definitely didn't wanna sit in the patio seating(in the garage of the mall..which is pretty gross..i would never suggest to sit & dine there..hence why it was completely empty) So my bf & I sat at the bar & the waitress was good..even offered a free refill. The fries were really good, and I'm not really a fry person. I really only order fries when I order an appetizer as a meal. I didn't need any salt adjustments or condiments. The garlic parm wings had the garlicky flavor we all love. I liked that they used a fine Parmesan cheese powder vs the shreds that get all clumpy. The crispy wings with the blue cheese was a good bite. I loved that the wings were normal sized as well. Surprisingly, the drink wasn't watered down and it held up as I end up taking it to go. Visited this location today and I was disappointed with my service. Ordered margaritas and 2 pieces of broken glass were somehow in and on the glass my drink was in. Now, the drinks were only $1 and when I alerted the Manager of my issue, he didn't apologize or offer to comp the drink, or better yet the entire bill being that I could have drank the beverage, swallowed glass and been severely injured. Thankfully, I paid attention and felt around the glass before attempting to drink it. The customer service today has gotten horrible as the people being hired have attitudes, feel entitled and don't know how to provide the best service to their customers. They need training like we had back in the 80's to learn how to offer their customers an experience because that's what good service is all about. read more

I've been coming to this location for years. And yet apple bees has fallen short.. i asked for a medium double bacon cheese burger. Tells me they can't do because the cooks in the back don't know how. So now I can't eat a burger because that's how I eat it. I also asked for a Corona. They tells me they are 86 for people who don't know what 86 is that means ran out.Its only 2 in the afternoon so before they open they knew they didn't have beer. Miss the Applebee's located on 145 - they were much better. The servers here could care less about doing their job and it shows. It also took us 15 minutes to get our drinks while we were sitting next to the bar - WE COULD HEAR THE BARTENDER RINGING THE BELL for over a minute trying to get our waitresses attention to bring us the drinks. They were more interested in talking to each other than talking to us - it's Applebee's so I didn't expect much, but it was very frustrating. There used to be a server there Mike whom we loved so I don't think it is all servers but many of them are pretty bad. My food was also cold - didn't want to send it back. Also, on another note I really hate that our server used our tablet instead of writing things down - we probably could have done everything that she had done but more efficiently - my boyfriend loves this place so I wanted to take him there but safe to say he will have to beg if he wants to come again. read more

I came here off a whim because honestly I've been to Applebee's before--- specifically Times Square and I wasn't a fan. To my surprise this location was a total 360 from the tourist locations downtown . It was very busy because it's the day after Valentine's Day and it was a 30 minute wait for a table but I was alone so the host said I could sit at the bar which I did . Rachel was the only bartender and was literally serving like 5 other people when I got there . When she came to me she apologized for the wait which I appreciated because I know food service gets crazy . She had a very cherry demeanor which I loved cause she was busy and I know food service again can be overwhelming. While Rachel was busy I asked another bartender named Nick for a glass of wine and he was very friendly and lively. Other guest inquired about shots and Nick was very honest about them which I appreciated ( he also had a laid back sarcastic demeanor which I loved because that's literally every native New Yorker hahaha ( if you know you know )). I thanked the manager who name was Jecily ( pronounced JEH-SELL-E) for having great employees and she herself was also very polite and pleasant . Every one here was honestly so nice ! Oh and it's winter so they have a killer happy hour special that the downtown locations don't have honestly . Oh ! AND THE PLAYLIST ? I KNEW EVERY SONG THAT PLAYED .
