Yesterday, myself and 2 family members (an adult and a child) went to Applebee's on Exterior Street to grab a bite. We sat in a booth by the bar; as I've done 3 times before in the past, I went to the bar to purchase a drink and come back to my seat to consume my drink while I wait for the waitress to come to our table. But today since it seem like it was a slow day, the female bartender decided to tell me that I can't do that. The bartender wasn't clear as to why I couldn't go to my seat with my drink, she had a nasty attitude and proceeded to tell me " I'm just doing my job", after I told her that I've done it before. My problem is, if the restaurant allowed it before why not now? If you all are "doing your job" that rule should apply across the board. I know great customer service when I see it, I use to be a restaurant and retail Mystery Shopper if I was still in that field that location would've been getting shutdown. Jecely, the supervisor at the moment claimed that she was going to speak to her bartender but that was a fail. What she should do is train her bartenders in customer service, greeting and professionalism. I would like to finish off by saying that there was no AIR CONDITIONING there. I am writing this review solely for the purpose of showing appreciation to my server Clarissa! Let's all be real when you eat at one Applebee's youve eaten at them all. What makes the difference is the staff and the ombiance. Today I came in with my little man to have a quick dinner (btw their doing out door dining in the parking lot in case you were wondering) It was a little hectic but Clarissa greeted us with a warm smile and positive vibes, being so accommodating. It's so hard to keep positive in these trying times so I really appreciated her energy! My family frequents here often so we will definitely be back! read more

5/5 rating for this Applebee's. I've been coming in here for about 4 months & the atmosphere is amazing, TVs everywhere not a bad spot to seat and watch a game. Our waiter was very attentive she showed us all the promotions & made sure that we got what we asked for accordingly. I was pretty amazed how she was able to keep up in such a busy environment. Food had order a sizzling entre my favorite came out how I expected sizzling and hot for all my senses haha. But overall great place only part I dislike is the location is all the way at the bottom of the mall. Other then that no complaints I'll be visiting once they open back in the meantime I'll be ordering online from this site. To go orders are also recommended due to the fact that the food is always well presented. read more

The service was extremely slow and it was not even crowded, there was plenty of staff but anyway we were not served until approximately half an hour later. The food was not the best, I asked for a medium-well steak and it was not tender, I asked for a rainbow lemonade and it was just color water. Because I'm happy! Is the song that was playing as we arrived for happy hour. Hoping the song was inspiration for the night we sat in the bar area. Except for the table behind us with children, the experience was pleasant overall. We took advantage of the happy hour specials and ordered a food items off of the appetizer menu that were half off. We ordered boneless chicken wings, mozzarella sticks and quesadillas with no bacon. The food did not take long to come out which was nice considering how crowded the restaurant was. All the food came out hot and our waiter remembered no bacon! I love me some good customer service. To go along with our appetizers and to distract us from the adorably loud kids behind us, we ordered some cocktails as well. As per our waiter's suggestion we ordered strawberry margaritas. Our waiter warned us that the Bahama Mamas were not very strong and we wanted some bang for our buck. Our first round was decent, mine was on the rocks and hers was frozen, no complaints. However my second round of margaritas on the rocks tasted more like juice than a margarita. I chopped it up to being busy but that was the end of my happy hour indulgement of adult beverages. It was a cold rainy night in the Bronx and the Applebee's near Yankee Stadium was closed at 8PM. What are two girls to do? Head over to the nearest Applebee's and grab a drink to stay warm. This place doesn't have the best reviews, but I actually had a pleasant dining experience while there. The actual establishment is located in the Gateway Center, which is a fairly new shopping center. The food in Applebee's is okay and while the happy hour prices are decent, their drinks are always watered down. I ordered a mango margarita on the rocks and for all I know it could've just been mango juice. After that I stuck to ordering beers and ordered a Stella since happy hour was still going on. My friend & I shared a spinach and artichoke dip, which I always enjoy. She enjoyed a steak entree, while I skipped dinner (had a heavy lunch that day) and went straight to dessert. The strawberry cheesecake shooter was heavenly! What really saved the night for me was the exceptional service we were given by our waiter Jeff. I came for happy hour today and ordered a margarita when it arrived at my table it was very weak kinda like juice. I kindly asked if it could be alittle stronger and our waitress Ms . rayna told me since its happy hour the drinks are weak and that was the catch of happy hour, and she dint even try to fix it. Plus the food we ordered was cold so we send it back then it came back nice and hot and food was pretty good , steak. Im not sure if ill go for happy hour again since i love me a margarita but i cant have a nice and tasty one since its cheaper. Like common im payin for it its not free guys! Every now and then I stop in here with my guy for a nice lunch or dinner. Tonight's service was exceptional. Our server was sweet, attentive and made our visit very pleasant. The food was pretty good; never really any complaints at this location in my experience. It's the perfect spot to stop and eat before we head over and do some shopping in the mall. Depending on what night you stop by, it can get busy so be prepared to wait 10-15min. The happy hour is so much better since they added all their new flavored sangrias. We have been to this applebee's several times. The food is usually delicious! Great portions and food well done. The service is very good. The wait staff is professional, friendly and fast. During one of the visits, the entrees came out while we had just started our appetizers, so we had no room on the table! They seemed to be a little rushed. The last time, the restaurant was crowded and there seemed to not be enough staff. The waiter was nice but he did not explain the specials very well and then was too busy for us to order more items. They were also out of the tea we wanted, which was weird. Our cocktails could have been better but were ok. I was happy with the selection of steaks. Their salad selection is also great. My family and I came her for the first time, this is our first time trying apple bees , I was nervous at first because many people said their food was nasty but we still went anyway. We started findi kg what we wanted to eat (appetizers) we order chicken quesadillas & White queso dip & chips, all I can say is that their chicken quesadillas was a 10/10 it was soft and crispy hot ready everything we loved it, their dip and chips was also really good it was a solid 8/10. Then we order our drinks . We got strawberry colada smoothie it was so sweet really good 8/10, their water though was not the best it was tap water , but it's nothing serious to us, their lemonade was extremely good (my little brother said) . My mom got liquory drinks, she said it was 7/10 for each the flavor was really good but she was hoping for it to be strong‍. Anyways . We finally ordered our official meal . Their Double-glazed baby back ribs is a 9/10 their ribs was tender sweet extremely good, it came with a side order of fries which was also really good . Four cheese mac and cheese was a 6/10, that is what I ordered I did not expect the chicken to be really sweet, I'm not a fan of sweet food mixed with salty food I guess that what we can call it. I was able to enjoy it as it was really sweet but the pasta and bacon it's self was delicious , on its own it's a 7/10. Chicken tenders basket , it was a 7/10 the fries were good the tenders weren't the best but it was bad either . Bourbon street chicken and shrimp was a 9/10 mom loved it . The shrimp was well done, then lastly classic cheese burger, it was a 8/10 burger was really good and so were the fries . Our server Michelle A was really great she was patient and overall nice. Some things took long to arrive but it's okay cause we saw it started getting real busy, a lot of people on line at the door waiting to get seated but eventually they were able to sit them in less than 15min so that is good. We wasted 245$! Which was really cheap considering the fact it was 6 of us. Their drinks were great one of my favorites. We didn't finish all our food since it was unexpectedly really big. So she gave us plates and bags to take them home! WE WILL COME BACK! Overall that location is 10/10. The place was cold but it's better than it being hot. read more

Ok, I'm done... I am basing this review of the accumulation of all of my visits here. I have to say that there was always an issue when I eat here. The time prior to today it took over an hour to get our food. I'm not talking about an hour from entering the restaurant, but over an hour from ordering... On top of that the place wasn't busy? Not even half way full? The Manager at that time gave us a complimentary dessert which was cool since we weren't in a rush or that hungry. Now fast forward to today. We walk in and see a big crowd waiting for the happy hour seats. So we sit at a regular seat and order our food. I order the 2 for $20 deal. It came out at a decent time which was surprising. But when I went to the rest room to clean my hands I found that my back was full of ketchup. Someone left it on the back of my seat? After going back to my table I told the waitress and she offered me wet napkins to clean it? Ketchup on a white shirt with wet napkins? I went back to the bathroom to rinse off and when I get back I now notice that the chicken in my pasta was burnt... Bad enough that I couldn't tolerate the smell before I bite it... Enough was enough and then I asked for a manager. He was apologetic and removed the pasta from my bill... And then? Not even an entrée on the house or a drink or dessert? Went here today for a quick Momma's Day lunch before shopping at BJ's. Women's bathroom was disgusting. Plugged up toilets in two stalls, with remains in the bowl. My frozen Margarita came in a hot glass. Nachos were over salted and the chips were stale. My cheeseburger came on a stale bun that was falling apart. The lettuce was under the burger. Server was awesome and none of the food and cleanliness was not on the server. I told the greeter about the bathroom, she did nothing. This is probably the worst Applebee's I have ever been to. I haven't been a fan of Applebee's for quite a while now because I think their menu selections fell off. This particular Applebee's is always crowded. We only went here because we were on our way to a Yankees game and did not want McDonald's, pizza or anything else locally. We wanted to go to a restaurant in Manhattan, but time was not on our side. For a party of two, the wait wasn't bad (25 minutes), but since we wanted to get to the game before it actually started, we decided to sit at the bar. We ordered the "2 for $20" deal just to be cheap. Our appetizer took a while and so did our main course. I won't review the food because, hey, it's Applebee's. The service was mediocre and the place was packed. Maybe the service might be better on a day when the Yankees aren't playing, but if you have a desire for Applebee's and this is the closest one to you, make sure you take a look at the Yankees schedule first before dining at this particular location. read more
