If you're looking for a fancy spot- this ain't it. Now, if you're looking for a place to sit, enjoy a game, and some simple beer and bar food, this is it. I like this spot due to its practicality and simpleness. Enough seating for everyone - except on a crazy game night, but most of the time you'll find seating. Some indoor/outdoor. Service is ok- nothing too crazy bad but nothing too crazy good. I enjoy their late night eats- I'm a REAL fan of their burger. Love it actually and really the only reason I make this review. This is a great spot if you're a beer lover as they have a huge selection of beers available. I'm not a beer fan, but I can appreciate the variety. I've been to this place several times and I must say that the service is very good. The severs are friendly and welcoming! The menu here has your typical bar food. I've tried the salads, French fries, and recently the bison burger. I think the food here is fine, but nothing really stands out to me. My friend had the French onion soup, and she really liked it. This place gets major props for being fully wheelchair accessible. They have a ramp in the back, and my friends who are in wheelchairs are able to get in with no issues, which is not the case in most restaurants. read more

My husband and I traveled to NYC this weekend for an event at the 92NY theater on Saturday. We had a few breaks in the event throughout the day and we found this gem of a bar only a block away from the theater. Our bartender Julia was wonderful! She helped guide us through the drink menu and also gave us recommendations for places to go while we were in town. Drinks were good and reasonably priced. The group we were with for the event had already booked dinner elsewhere, but all the food we saw coming out here looked excellent. The music playing was awesome, mostly classic rock. Great bar to watch football on a Sunday afternoon! The check vaccination cards AND IDs so make sure you have both. All of the games were on different TVs and the audio was of the NY game. Bartenders were busy but pleasant! They have a bunch of draft beers; I really enjoyed the Octoberfest draft. Menu is on the smaller side; typical bar food. We ordered nachos with pulled pork and wings! The nachos were massive; definitely enough for 3-4 people or two hungry people to share. The wings were average; lukewarm when they were served. Lately they seem to be losing momentum. Happy hour isn't what it used to be. Last time I was there, the bartender with the ponytail was extremely rude! Walking away while I was in mid-order. Couldn't care less whether I was dissatisfied, and I still ended up letting him keep the rest of the change when I paid my bill. The fact that I was a regular to the bar didn't make a difference because he didn't even know that until one of the guys from the kitchen informed him. I rate these guys a "T.T." for TOTAL THIEVES! These thieves charge you both a COVID SURCHARGE (5%) & CREDIT CARD USAGE FEE ($2) - without first informing you or having the proper signs posted as required by law which means they're CHARGING YOU ILLEGALLY. On top of that they force you to buy food! We, a party of three, rolled in 11:30pm on a Sunday night. There were only 2 other customers in the bar. They should've been thankful anyone was rolling in this late on a Sunday night and let the food requirement slide. Not only did they force us to buy some crappy $14 nachos we didnt want (cheapest choice) they hammered us too with the covid surcharge & credit card fees too! Between the forced food purchase & covid/credit card surcharges it cost us about an extra $21.00 to have a simple round of drinks!! What a scam! At least be honest with your customers upfront about the charges weasels NYC is nothing if not an island of bars. I suggest you avoid the bad vibe of these GREEDY THIEVES! read more

This place is okay, we came and were able to sit right away. The server was nice but the place is super loud with music (and not the best music) so it's hard to talk. TL;DR: Pretty solid spot to grab some beer with your friends and ok food if you're hungry. Came here and met up with a few friends who is discovering their new neighborhood as they just moved and wanted to check this spot out. They have big outdoor space on 92nd Street with heat lamps, each tables 6 feet apart. They have a pretty extensive draft beer menu, super unique selections you probably won't find at most bars. I also made this trip my dinner and ordered the "Old School" Nachos and added on BBQ Pulled Pork ($20). Pretty standard bar food to share with a group of people, but probably not a good choice to make as your entire dinner (that's my fault). Service I have no complaints. Super friendly and pretty accessible when needed, even if it is not your own waiter/waitress. Very knowledgeable of the menu (both food and drinks) and can make recommendations. Prior to COVID, I had never been interested in trying Third Ave Ale House as it seemed like just another bar with mediocre food. However, with the start of outdoor dining, every time I passed I ogled the nachos that every table seemed to be ordering topped with a hearty dose of guac and melted cheese. Stopped going to Third Avenue Ale House before Covid. The place reminded me of an East Village dive bar; depressing, cluttered, with an indifferent, slovenly waitstaff. Happy to say things have changed. The place has been cleaned up---kitchen was moved to the rear. Our bartender was dressed appropriately. She was engaging and attentive. Stopped by Thursday night, food was okay but the service was dissatisfying. Ordered food and weren't even offered side plates to share. When we asked for them, the server looked confused. Like?? Why did I even have to ask for them in the first place. Server failed to clear the table and instead was sitting at the bar. Horrible experience. Been here a few times in the past few months. They have a great beer selection, they have something for all the beer drinkers in your life. IPAs, Lagers, Wittes, etc. The bartender I had last night was extremely knowledgeable about all the beers and suggested one similar to another one who's keg had just kicked. They also have a full bar and seasonal cocktail list if you don't like beer. The food tries to be upscale bar food, but the first two times I came here it was slightly above average. Nothing to write home about. However, last night my SO and I shared Nachos with Pulled Pork and they were unbelievable. So delicious and they didn't skimp on the pork. My SO wants to go back this weekend to have the nachos again. I've been here both on a weekday and on the weekend, both times it's been busy, but with tables available. The clientele is also varied with hospital employees, groups of friends, families all mingling together. I'm sure this place has some deals, I noticed they have a Beer & Burger Monday and Taco Tuesday, but outside of that I wouldn't go back. It's way too expensive for bar food, even for New York standards it's unreasonably high. I suggest creating a reasonable flat rate for the pizzas based on number of toppings. The quick summary - good middle of the road beer selection, amazing chicken dishes, pricey, and already requiring a Vax card to do indoor dining. No warning of a credit card fee (usually in the menu... But this place has no menus). 4* for food, 3 beers, 2.5 for hidden fees. You'll find familiar beers on tap like dales pale ale and a some others you may not have. Nothing crazy. A little something for all. But not a crazy amount of drafts IMO. I think all drafts are $9+. 3/4 of us got chicken with something and commented on how tasty it was. If you're looking at the yelp menu add $1 (e.g club is 16.95, fingers 10.95). Given the nice dishes and price you'd expect a menu, not a QR code. Who likes going to a nice place and starting by asking everyone to jump on their phone? Do you need it indoors given we're all vaccinated? Do you need it given it's proven Sars-cov-2 doesn't travel on items? Anyway... Hurts the experience. Lots of TVs so great to catch the Olympics there. Everyone had an angle. We got our stroller inside easily (Minu) but parents note that the koala changing table was without wipes to clean it off.
