This experience was definitely one to remember, our server was wonderful the hostess not so much. Amber was a bit odd and as a group of people of color that's always concerning writhing a business. We got multiple odd stares and remarks as well as being seating in the back of the establishment. As well as when we spoke she came and added a divider from our table to the rest of the restaurant it kind of just gave segregation. My food that I initially ordered was lwk crusted over so I just reordeeed my appetizer. As soon as the appetizer came out so did the food which was odd as well. I am so tired of trying to find a nice place to enjoy a night with my ladies without someone being prejudice towards us.

This is the bacon cheddar scramble. Tiny.

Waited for more than an hour for our food after ordering. It wasn't even busy, there were only 2 other tables in our section. The food was stale, tiny, and overcooked. The plates were hotter than the food itself. Very uni

If I could leave more than 5 stars I would! Giuseppe was a phenomenal server, I'm not sure that I could say I've ever received better service anywhere else. He was very accommodating and attentive even though he was busy. He was very engaging with my toddler as well. The food was awesome and I had a delicious drink to. the new place is really nice and clean I love how they've done it up in there I will gladly be visiting Applehop with my family again in the future!!!! Thank you for the wonderful experience!!

I came here with a very large group and the waiter was super accommodating and friendly to us! The food was what you would expect from an Applebee's: okay to good. The portion sizes were good, though, and we all enjoyed ourselves. It was also super convenient because it was right across from our hotel. My ribs were pretty scarce in terms of meat, but I heard another member of my party was pretty happy with theirs. I guess it's hit or miss.

Sirloin steak, sautéed mushrooms, mashed potatoes, broccoli, bread sticks and ice tea. Delicious!

First things first... my husband and I are not fans of Applebee's. We have had too many bad experiences. However, a visit to Chico for an RC event brought us right across the street from Applebee's of Chico. We needed a hot meal on our first night and decided to order take out to give them a shot. We had the rib-eye, mashed potatoes and broccoli. It was very good. Two days later I was stuck in the hotel all day and ordered a grilled chicken bowl. It was huge and absolutely delicious. Our last night in Chico I was again stuck in the hotel so decided to give it another shot. Sirloin, sautéed mushrooms, mashed potatoes, broccoli and 2 breadsticks. I also ordered a glass of ice tea. The meal was fantastic. I'm so shocked at our great experience at this Applebee's!!! Great service as well! I just might give more Applebee's a chance.

Our server was prompt, polite, and friendly, which we appreciated. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated with lots of natural light and a pleasant atmosphere. I'd describe it as "Chico nice" -- casual and trendy, but not fine dining or especially refined service. The food was okay to good, but nothing memorable. We ordered the avocado toast, chicken sandwich, a beer, and a sweet drink, and the total came to about $72. Everything was perfectly fine, just not the kind of food or experience that would make me want to return, especially for a birthday celebration. Overall, it's a decent spot for a casual lunch, but it didn't feel particularly special for the price.

The wings are the obvious move here. Bella's has built a reputation around them for a reason. They're big, messy, loaded with flavor, and absolutely not something you order when you're trying to look civilized. If you leave with completely clean hands, I'm not sure you actually ate wings. The rest of the food holds its own too, but coming to Bella's and not at least considering the wings feels slightly disrespectful. The atmosphere is exactly what you want from a downtown sports pub. TVs everywhere, games on, people talking over each other, drinks moving around, and enough noise to make the place feel alive without completely losing the ability to have a conversation. On a big game day, it's even better. Service has always been friendly and laid-back in my experience, even when they're slammed. There's nothing overly polished about Bella's, and honestly, I wouldn't want there to be. That's part of the charm. I don't go out in downtown Chico nearly as much as I used to, but Bella's is still one of those places I'm always happy to end up at. Good wings, cold drinks, sports on every screen, and that familiar downtown Chico energy. Some places don't need to reinvent themselves. They just need to keep doing what made people like them in the first place. Bella's is one of those places.

Not bad enough to complain but really weren't up to standard based on price and description. We ordered the Special which was a pile of angel hair pasta mixed with pesto in the middle (very dry), and around that it was supposed to have chicken, asparagus, roasted garlic and heirloom tomatoes. I can't remember what else. I only found two small bites of chicken. Not worth $34. The other dish was the Chicken Picatta and the sauce was very thick, not the lighter thin sauce with capers we've become used to and green bell peppers were one of the veggies they added to the pasta. Those are so over powering to the other flavors of artichoke hearts and mushrooms. The balance of ingredients was just off for how much money they now charge. (prices have recently increased and dishes are mostly in the $28+ unless your getting the basics ie spaghetti) Don't plan to return for anything but the Caesar salad dressing!

I especially loved the curly cheese fries, and the fried chicken sandwich was good too. The place is steeped in history. I'm not really a bar person and the energy isn't quite my vibe, but there's a lot to appreciate--especially the wild ceilings packed with random items. It's unique and full of character, even if it isn't perfectly aligned with my usual preferences. My husband, a local who grew up in Butte County, shared some great stories about his Chico State days, back when this was still a quieter town of wealthy families with unpaved roads. Those little pieces of local history made the visit even more interesting.
