We had a good service I was worried to even step foot here because of the bad reviews. My kids got certificates for a free kids meal from school so we gave it a try. My husband and I decided to try something different from the limited eateries that provide delivery in the South Bay Area. I'm mobility disabled but on this evening, worn out from a morning of being downtown for a appointment, my husband ventured out to try this restaurant's take-out service,not only new to us but also recently in the area. I had the crosscut ribs with the spicy Asian sauce with slaw and fries and he had the full rack of baby back ribs with the same sides. Food was decent but service was terrible. The bartender took forever to greet me and not once did the bartender ever come back to check to see how I was doing. Idk who was worse, the bartender on her phone the whole time or the manager just standing at the computer doing nothing but staring at the bartender's ass. We usually go out to this Applebee's since its around the corner from our office and usually the service is meh not great but not anything to complain about went there yesterday with our family and it was one of the most unsatisfying services I've ever had. I don't want to be the typical cliche person that has said I've worked in the business before but I have, for ten years actually and I was good at my job. So our server (who I will not name) please take this as constructive criticism so u can be better at your job. It started off fine he got our drink order and followed by taking our order but after that point it went down hill our appetizer took about 30 minutes to come out which was brought out by a manager running the food, we asked for fries to come out with the appetizer since we had a child so it can keep him from going crazy those never came out we had to ask the manager for them which was then brought out shortly, Our server did check on us and at the moment but we were ok, after that was the last time we saw our server. The entrees came out 30 minutes later which I don't understand and my sister asked for mashed potatoes instead of the other type of potatoes and my husband asked for no hash browns on his burger and a side of jalapeños which the burger DID have hash browns and of course no jalapeños. They waited patiently for the server to come to see if it could be fixed but 10 minutes passed no server and another 5 minutes passed still no server so they just ate it, not cool! of course three out of the five people had nothing to drink because we never got refills I had to share my drink with my husband because he was thirsty. We waited another 15 minutes for our check even tho my mom got up and asked for it and after another ten minutes waiting we eventually had to get up and ask for it from the manger we got it and left we still left him a good tip given the horrible service that was given, I mean our bill was $85 for food that came out wrong and drinks we didn't get refilled we left $100 and went on our way maybe he was having a bad day who knows but I hope he sees this and learns to give better service. My parents left upset but I didn't want them to complain and get him introuble but the managers really need to be observant to all tables because I saw a lady manager taking really good care of a table of his who was also upset and didn't even care to glance our way to check on us. So Applebee's I ask you to train the servers better mangers help out more do a couple rounds around the restaurant and check on EVERY table and to our guy server make sure to stop by and check on every table you have, to check if they are ok especially once they receive their food! I'm not sure if I will go back anymore I mean our "lunch" took a good 2 hours from start to finish and that's a long time when u are an unhappy customer. First and last time at Applebee's. I arrived and ordered an appetizer while I waited for the rest of my party. When the appetizer finally arrived there was no silverware. We ordered more appetizers and our entrees. My wife ordered a Corona, which was promptly brought to our table in a bottle. Despite her requesting her beer in a glass. A glass was dropped off, but he did not offer to pour the beer for her. She asked for extra limes that never came. I had to walk up to the bar and ask for them myself. Appetizers arrived with no silverware, again. I had to go to the bar (again) and ask for silverware. We finished our appetizers and waited a very long time for our entrees. I had to ask another employee to check on our food because it was taking so long. Finally our food arrived, with no silverware- AGAIN. I got up and got silverware from a station by the entrance. I went to the bar and got myself A1 sauce as well as a salt shaker. Neither of these were offered to us. I understand the restaurant was busy and understaffed due to graduation day, but this could be prevented with better planning on management's behalf. read more

Although the food is tasty, don't go hungry expecting to fill up on one of their specials. The two for $20 or $25 specials offered sightly smaller portions. A real let down on the ribs, only about 6 bones. I ordered a margarita and they served it in a regular sized water glass. Visited here with my family of five. It was a very disappointing experience. I'm not even going to go into detail about the food except it was just below average. What made it bad was that my wife's pasta came out about 25 minutes after everyone else's meals. A friend was on town tonight we couldn't decide where to go for dinner, figured its Thursday night, nothing should be to crowded. I called ahead so we could have a table for 6 waiting, as my back does not allow me to be comfortable in a booth. The young lady on the phone said they did not take reservations but that they had tables available. When we arrived I asked the host for a table no booth, he walked us to a booth, I said NP a table not a booth, he left us standing there and proceeded to ask if we wanted 2 tables together or if someone wanted to sit in the walkway. Well I was upset already , this is why I called ahead to avoid having to remodel the restaurant to be seated told the host. This is why you need reservations. I am not handicapped but I shutter to think how long it takes to accommodate someone who is. We ordered the 2 for 25.00 and the build your appetizer. I had never been here before but I felt the menu selections were far from what you expect in a restaurant. Wonton tacos, very very small brisket sliders, and baby back ribs. I could not find any meat on the robs and what I was able to scrape off the bone was incredibly dry even when drenched with sauce. Our server came to check on 2 members of our party and refilled their drinks but not mine or my other friends. When we were ready for the check and tip time, he asked if everything was alright. Told him about the ribs, he replaced them , with the dry ribs other rack which was just as dry. The sauce was good. But I was very disappointed as this could be a great neighborhood place to hang out and eat, instead of going to plaza bonita or the Chula vista mall. The attention to customer service is very lacking and this is a refection of management you should all be fired and replaced. Your wait staff is a reflection on your manager. We have been coming to this location on Thursday night almost since it opened. Nice food, but they can't keep servers. We have seen so many come and go. They have never had the sound on for Thursday Night Football. Now the management has decided to play Thursday Night Football at full volume. You can't talk to your table mate or your server over the volume of this football game. We talked to the manager and she said it was too bad, she wanted it like this. It was too bad if we didn't like it. We didn't so we won't be back, there are many restaurants around, we aren't going to put up with that noise. After two bad experiences at this Palomar Applebees, i decided to give it a third try. Unlike the first two visits, which went awful with bartenders not acknowledging their customers AT ALL!!! Ana (long black hair with braces)the bartender has awesome customer service attentiveness. She welcomed us with a smile to the bar area and was always looking over to see if we needed more refills & made our visit feel appreciated. Lunch was great with minimal wait for our plates to be served. Looks like they made personnel changes & im looking forward to coming back. read more

Food was OK. Nothing to write about. Service was not very good. Took for ever to get a refill of iced tea. . We were watching TV. Had a baseball game on and all of a sudden some lady changes the channel. Every damn TV in the place we could see was now a soccer game. Didn't look like anyone was paying attention to the game. We had dinner here and it was an overall success. EXCEPT THE HAPPY HOUR PRICES ONLY APPLY AT THE BAR AREA! The bar area is 30 feet away but can't have happy hour drink prices... But you can have the drinks??!! I do not understand this and neither did the wait staff. Where to start, Just got off work and went straight too Apples to forget my long week. I order Coronita Jalapeno and a Long Island when i notice on my Menus a Flea yes a Flea flopping on it . I was like wtf. Luckily i hadn't order my appetizers yet. I even showed the Bar tender and she saw it bounce back n forth and then smashed it in front of me then walked away. For a min i thought should comp me at least one drink..Nada i bought four drink and 4 appetizers. Over lack of attention between employees and even the Manager on duty.
