Where do I start.... The waitress we had didn't even know what beers they had on tap. When we asked her what beers they had her answer was "uhhmm, a lot". What kind of answer is that? You're the employee you should know what you're serving. She didn't even write down our order which lead to wrong plates being sent to us over and over and over again. When we did receive our food (after waiting an hour) it was cold and lousy. The manager was rude and disinterested about our poor service that his employees were providing. All the Applebee's I've been to seem to have the same shameful service. I will longer go to any of their restaurants again. read more

Need negative stars here! Got the food and opened the napkins. For silverware and a bug (dead) fell out. Told the guy who brought out our food..he laughed. Tole him we needed new silverware. I have never posted a review before, but tonight I must. We go to Applebee's in Duncanville quite often and love the food...but tonight we had some issues. Our server Cameron was nice but maybe not accustom to handling issues. We sat down, placed our drink and food orders, requesting drinks out first. About 5 min later we got our water, then appetizer, several minutes later we could see our drinks sitting at the bar, where a gentleman with his mask pulled down under his chin, practically leaning over them, we watched and waited, finally telling Cameron about the drink situation, he responded "where" finally he saw them and retrieved them, I had ask for salt on my margarita and when I ask about it, Cameron never offered to take it back for salt, but actually raised up trying to turn away, and rolled his eyes. Then food came and the first bite of the delicious garlic mashed potatoes, we had to spit out because there was a piece of plastic in them, when Cameron returned we told him about the plastic, he did apologize and ask if we wanted some more, we said nevermind. Now Cameron I just want to help you make better tips. I have been waiting tables over 20 years and my advice to you is to not EVER let your customers see you roll your eyes. Your tip would have been over 20% had I not seen that. The public can be difficult to deal with at times, but you cannot let them see an attitude. Another facility that's ran with a minimal functional of common sense. I just don't understand why management doesn't look at the uncensored and real comments on these outlets to do an assessment on why certain locations preform poorly compared to others!?!? Instead of taking accountability they look to put the blame on each other when something goes wrong. OWN UP TO YOUR MESS AND YOU WONT HAVE TO PLACE BLAME. First and last time coming here. Service was terrible. My order didnt come with everything in the menu discription. Waitress said oh I'll tell them to bring when she came back I told her my food was cold so she took it back came back 2min later saying they remaid my order. They didn't because I cut a portion off the chicken. It was the same sandwich. They just put black pepper on my fries. Manager said she would have them make me a new one. I ended up leaving. This Applebees was the epitome of mediocre. I joined a group 10 or so for dinner on a Friday night. Several people complained about the drinks being watered down. Which considering how long it took to receive them may have very well been what the problem was. It took a long time to receive our appetizers. Most of our entrees arrived in a reasonable amount of time, but most were just ok with regard to taste. One entrée arrived late, and one was missing and had to be re-ordered. Our server was trying, but clearly needed some assistance. She finally, got some help, but by then there was no turning a bad experience into a good one. read more

My Friend and I went to Applebee's after the Tank and Joe concert on Saturday 09/17/2016. We arrived 11:45pm - As usual, at this time of the evening, they were busy. No problem. The wait time was only about 15min. We were lead to our table by the waitress, she wiped the table off with a wet towel before we sat down, gave us menus and she walked away to get eating utensils. Right away, we noticed the table was sticky as if she cleaned the table with a towel that had been soaking in soda. We heard the people next to us complaining about the sticky tables as well. We let that go. She came back with plastic utensils. We laughed. We ordered Cocktails and placed our order. After 20min she returned with the Cocktails. At this time we requested 2 glasses of water with our order. 20 more min passed and she returned with our order minus the water. I ordered Pretzels with Beer Cheese and Cheeseburger Egg Rolls. I received the Pretzels and Mozzarella Cheesesticks. we asked about the water again. 15min later she returned with 2 glasses of water and Ranch Dressing. She conveniently gave the water to the table next to us then said "oh I'm sorry, ya'll still want ya'll water?" ( In case you're wondering, we were seated before the other guest.) Another 15min went by, she was passing by and we asked for our check AND OUR WATER!!! She returned with the check and NO WATER!!. We gave her $40.00 on a 36.00 tab and she asked if we wanted our change... Really Girl!!! Please keep the change but just know that your service was HORRIBLE!!! Worst Applebee's I been to in my Life! Wait time for food was almost an hour. Place was dirty Food was cold.. Wait staff and management was unprofessional and dismissive. Waitress didn't write down our order correctly. 4 plates of food were sent to us that we didn't order, they seemed annoyed that we just wouldn't accept the food brought to our table. Other tables were experiencing the same problem. We asked for a manager and he was distant and immune from complaints. Me and my kids went in for a late lunch and it was filthy. Hostess and servers standing around arguing over what they were or were not going to do and who does or does not do the most work. So I am going to be upfront and blunt about this. If you don't like black culture, or are a bigot, do not come to this restaurant. If you love black culture, as I do, and great food, then this is the place to be. I'm staying at a hotel right nearby and we stopped in here last night to have a meal because it was close. Overwhelmingly the clientele in the restaurant was black. Some of the conversations going on around us were quite loud, and possibly obnoxious depending on your preference of restaurant ambiance. The hostess was nice even though she did not smile at us, and a number of employees were sitting at a table eating food, which commonly is unacceptable at almost every other restaurant anywhere. Our waitress was very nice, even though she got my order wrong and gave me a double shot when I ordered a single shot. But this is where I was OK with that, because the bartender really hooked up my double! Tonight we stopped in again. A different bartender was working and when I ordered a single shot, she definitely poured more than the standard measurement. Now to the food. Two nights in a row my meal was cooked to perfection and I have absolutely zero complaints about that. I am writing all of this to be able to make the statement that if you really are looking for a great meal this is the place to be. The standard of service might not seem that great, but you are going to walk out happy, and your tummy is going to be absolutely satisfied. The only reason I took one star off this review is because of professionalism. But the quality of food will make up for that. read more

First of all, is this the club or a family restaurant? I am just asking. I have visited my share of Applebee's across the country, but never experienced the club atmosphere. I waited to be seated and/or acknowledged; no staff was visible upon our arrival. The place was not crowed as far as patrons eating food. The bar was "very lively" I might say. After being seated, I watched the front hostess eat from another staff member's bag of food; perhaps he was on break and appeared to have McDonald's for break. In any case they sat at the front of the restaurant taking break. The whole Applebee's image has been shattered for me. read more

My roommates and I often order the 2 for 20 deal via phone and pick it up. I usually always order a steak and by the time it gets home it's what you would expect. Always their food has been okay to good...nothing spectacular but nothing bad or tragic either. Just food. However...two weeks ago one of my roomies and I decided to go in for the 2 for 20...we made sure it was mid afternoon so we could miss the bar and diner crowd. I have to say that the steak was spectacular...best I have had cooked there in the last four months. It was so good I had to ask for the name of the cook because if he's not cooking...I don't want steak lol. 9oz ribeye cooked to medium rare perfection from one end to another. I was thoroughly impressed and I hope they keep it up. Looks like there have been some not so happy campers in the reviews here...I hope my experience in mid-late July this year is the start of a turn around for them in the food department. Ok I'm not crazy about apple bees but this 2 for 20 deal is good. I got the chipolette steak and shrimp and man it was cooked right and the sauce was spicy i topped it with A1 sauce. Couldn't really care for the spinach dip it was kinda watery but it was fresh. My wife had the 3 cheese pasta chicken. It was pretty good the cheeses gave off a balance taste. I am a fan now and our waiter was pretty good and we were greeted and soon as we walked in I say it was pretty crowded not over crowded. The absolute WORST service I have ever experienced! The wait to receive our food was about an hour and while we were waiting they kept sending us the wrong orders. Waitress didn't write the order down so she didn't know what we ordered. When we finally received our food it was cold as if it was in the back just sitting there. We talked to the manager about the service not once but twice and both times he did not seem to care or offered a solution to the problem. He claimed to be a manager for 18 years but the way he "handled" the situation made it seem like he became the manager just today. The staff needs way more training and the so called manager needs to be replaced. If you are hungry go to one of the drive thru places nearby instead. The restaurants near by will get your order right and not have you wait an hour for your food. I'm never coming back her again!!! read more

If I could give this place no stars and just a zero lord knows I would....1. We get here and we are seated in an area that was not normally but fine. 2. The waiter strolls over super slowly no greetings still no silverware at this moment. 3. Waiter still at this point hadn't offered any water, we pretty much know the menu so I say we're also ready to order the waiter keeps walking, by this time I'm frustrated and ask for management because the waiter can't hear but has time to hang out with friends on the end tables, still no water by now the appetizers we order is cold.
