Bad experience, slow service, and completely unprofessional staff. I came in and ordered one hot dog. While I was waiting, I went next door to the sandwich shop, ordered food for my girlfriend and her friend, waited for it, got the food, walked back to my car, and then returned to Smashburger. My hot dog still wasn't ready. To make things worse, two of the three employees were standing outside doing God knows what while customers were waiting. After another 5-10 minutes, someone finally came back inside and asked if the hot dog was mine. Then, out of nowhere, they claimed I hadn't paid. I told them I absolutely had and even checked my bank account to confirm the charge. They still insisted I hadn't paid. What makes no sense is that they had a printed order sitting there for nearly 20 minutes. How are you only realizing then that you think it wasn't paid for? The employee just told me to wait, turned around, and started taking someone else's order. At that point I was like, "F this. Ain't no hot dog in an empty restaurant that should ever take this long," and walked out. I've never experienced service this slow or this unprofessional, and I definitely won't be coming back. Waited for my food 30 minutes after the app said my food would be ready. When I asked to speak to a manager I was compared to uber and door dashers, when I used the smash burger app. Asked for a refund and the manager claimed he couldn't give me one. The manager was very defensive, when all of this information came from smash burgers app. He tried explaining about one cook and doing tickets as they come. Again as a customer non of this was my business and something corporate should know. I still had to wait 26 minutes after my food was scheduled to be picked up and ready and the manager was horrible at helping or being knowledgeable of his store app and procedures. We visit this location when downtown Dallas or going to the DMA - but today Janna Paige and her TEAM made our day! Wonderful attention, help in ordering, along with 'just feeling the love' this group shares made our day. A great lunch with our burgers, fries, sweet potato fries and of course, my fav brussel sprouts. We'd brought our brother in law there and he at 74 stated 'wow, where do you find brussel sprouts at a burger spot'. SMASH we said. We love them and so glad permanently on the menu. Smashburger is a burger chain that upsells itself to be higher end but in the end still is fast food. We had the double bacon smash burger, which was delicious and decadent, but I'm not sure if the relatively hefty price tag (~$10) makes it worth it. Otherwise, the beef is definitely juicy, lettuce/tomatoes fresh, and toasted bun delicious. It can be hard to find surface parking immediately outside of the storefront, but thankfully there is an underground garage and they will validate your parking. Inside the restaurant, there is plenty of seating - there is an entire upper balcony so plenty of space to go around. All in all, I'm not sure I'd visit again, but it was sure a tasty burger. read more
