First time visiting a Cotton Patch. We ordered the fried mushrooms as an appetizer, they were really good. It was just a bummer they came out literally two minutes before our food so we took most of them home. I had the small chicken fried steak with fries (extra gravy on the side ) and the macaroni and cheese. Chicken fried steak was amazing! The mac reminded me of boxed Velveeta ‍ It wasn't bad, just that kind of texture. Hubs had a burger. He says the meat was a bit dry, but good flavor. Server was friendly and attentive. Eating at this location is hit or miss when it comes to customer service. The last couple of visits have not been good at all; So much so that my family and I got up and walked out on one occasion. No one would even recognize we were sitting at a table. Their food is very good, no question. I was reading some of the reviews and noticed that a few other "elite" reviewers gave this location glowing recommendations. So maybe I'm just catching them when they're not on their A-game. That's why we decided to give them one last attempt to redeem themselves. They did. We had a waitress that provided outstanding service. I was very impressed. She made sure our glasses were always full, brought us fresh bread promptly when asked and made sure we were happy with our food before she walked away. From the time we sat down till we left, she was very attentive. I haven't given up on them yet. All this to say, if you want great good, this location in Arlington will provide it, but rather you will get good service or not, is strictly a coin toss. read more

Server informed me he was just hiding his time serving me, until a huge party of 45 corporate people were scheduled to arrive. He rushed me, bringing my check out halfway through my meal. If I'd wanted to order a dessert, I wasn't given the chance. He brought out my appetizer and main course at the same time. So by the time I got to eat my main course, everything was cold. I've been here several times, and it's been a long time since I've had service this unprofessional. This young man needs to learn to focus on his current customer, not the potential ones arriving later. It was made abundantly clear to me, that I wasn't truly important to him, as a customer. I met my friend at the Cotton Patch, we split a fried green tomatoes, with lots of tasty ranch. And then I had a chicken fried steak with fried okra, and more delicious gravy, and my friend had the meatloaf with a large salad. Probably a better choice, but mine was super tasty... And large iced tea and she had a margarita. We had a great time visiting and we had an amazing server name Alyssa. She was fun and very attentive and made sure everything was well stocked. I ordered the chicken fried steak meal with mashed potatoes, corn, and rolls. Everything was delicious except for the mashed potatoes. I could tell they were homemade however they were very starchy and chunky. The steak and gravy were flavorful, and the corn just needed a little help with salt/pepper. Almost a year later and it's still pretty underwhelming. Clean, quiet ambiance. Good lighting levels, etc. Service was prompt and pleasant! Our water was very attentive. As a vegetarian I enjoyed their sides plate! Menu had many options even for me! We eat here fairly often and love the food. We always have a good experience until last night. We were seated by the hostess, and she did not give us any silverware. We waited for quite a while until our server Kelly came to take our drink order. Since we waited so long, we all decided to go ahead and order our food. She brought our drinks and rolls but no silverware. We told her we needed silverware. We waited and waited and she came to take the order at the booth next to ours. My husband had already stood up to go get our silverware, so he told her again that we needed some. She hesitated like she was going to take the order instead but decided she would go get the silverware. By this time, our rolls were ice cold. I ordered chicken fried chicken the small portion. It was very small and looked like it was around three bites. I asked Kelly if she could bring us some hot rolls since ours were cold. We waited and waited. When she finally came back to our table, she said it would be a little while before the rolls were done. At the end of our meal, I asked where our rolls were and she had the expression on her face that she had forgotten. She finally brought the rolls and then we waited and waited for her to bring the check. From our observation, she only had two tables to serve, ours and the booth next to ours. We arrived first before the people next to us. Not sure if she is new and not used to being a server, but she needs some kind of training. She never refilled our drinks and she got my husband's drink order wrong. He ordered an Arnold Palmer with unsweet tea and brought him half sweet and half unsweet tea. I really did not even want to leave a tip, and I never have that attitude with a server. We left a tip but, in my opinion, she did not earn it. I brought a group of person (seven in all) to eat at the Arlington TX Cotton Patch Cafe. 5 adults and 2 kids. The waitress, Deja (yes, as in Vu), performed excellently well. She kept our drinks fresh, asked if we needed anything often enough without intruding or interfering with our eating experience. Cotton Patch consistently has quality food and service. My favorite item is their steak fingers. Just as good as their regular chicken fried steak but the portion almost seems bigger. The garlic mashed potatoes are amazing too. I need to try some of their other options! read more

Black lady walk set at bar places order and 15 minutes later white man walked in set at bar and place order a few minutes later he's eating and I'm still waiting, I didn't saying anything but was tempted to walk get up and walk out. Instead I chilled just to see how much longer few minutes later my plate arrives. I was very upset but continued to keep my composure and remained elegant. After being forced to come out for dinner due to our power being out, Kayla made our experience super enjoyable. She was attentive, sweet, and kind enough to wish our power to come back on soon. The food was excellent. I ordered the lemon salmon with the add-on of grilled shrimp (duh), and my boyfriend ordered the Monday special of country fried steak. Although our waitress at the Arlington, Texas location was so wonderful, this visit was not good. The food was horrible and tasted old, and the other staff literally swept the carpet while we sat and ate. Yes, this is against all Board of Health laws and they should know it. We asked the waitress to ask the girl to use common sense and stop sweeping trash and dust around all the customers and she did. But another girl went to the other side of the restaurant and started sweeping as if they really didn't know it was against state and national policy to do so. I'm not a person who complains but this has gotten out of hand . I've had a terrible experience with a tall Hispanic long haired man about 12 times now who works at the pick up desk and today was the worst . He's always rude has no customer service skills for someone picking up their food . I've seen him be rude to door dash drivers and an all around a-hole to anyone who comes in . How is he still working here ? I live right by this location and I have to drive to the Mansfield one for cotton patch now just to avoid him . You lost a weekly customer until he is fired . Sitting here eating some delicious food at Cotton Patch Cafe. I saw the restaurant randomly off the 20 freeway and decided to stop in. Cotton Patch reminds me of Cracker Barrel, but minus the country store and add alcoholic beverages. I decided to check out the menu before I decided to either stay or leave and I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of food that was available. A woman warmly greeted me and escorted me to my table. I told her it was my first time here and she gave me a true Southern welcome and told my waitress to "show her how we do it here". I was given a menu and decided on their meatloaf lunch special. They had several types of lunch specials with chicken tenders, sandwiches, chicken fried steak, and so many more. All of the lunch specials were between $7-$10! With the meatloaf special I got the choice of two side items, so I got their broccoli and southern green beans. After ordering I was brought a basket of fresh and warm bread. The bread was a mix of corn bread muffins and rolls. They tasted so amazing! I had to stop myself several times from eating the entire basket before my food came. When it did come it looked and tasted delicious. The meatloaf was sesoned well with just a hint of sweetness and spice. Their meatloaf is made fresh daily and it was shown in the taste. The broccoli was some of the best I had in a restaurant as it was crunchy and soft at the same time and bright green. The green beans were just okay--not my favorite.
