Went back in the spring and had a great experience! The host, I think her name is Eliza, was super sweet and welcomed us with a huge smile. Was seated on the east side where the tables are so close that it's hard to get into the chairs without hitting the neighbors. At other locations in the past, I gave not been very impressed with Applebee's. Had a gift card, so we decided to try this location. We were not disappointed! Our server, Unique, was fabulous! Everything ordered came out correctly and she didn't try to hurry us between apps and ordering our main meals. She was very friendly and thoughtfully gave us a few extra little containers of sour cream to use with our meals. Her opinions on menu items was spot on! A very pleasant meal! The food was great. Great size portions, and our server did great. Only issue, if you're a group that consist of mostly wheel chaired people (6), this is not the location to go to. We did call and ask ahead of time if they could accommodate so many chairs, and they said they could. They did do their best, but it was a very tight squeeze and overall, was a bit difficult to manage. Over all, we were glad to be there, just more of a heads up for other chaired groups. read more

My wife and I came in for date night on an exceptionally busy night. We decided to sit at the bar because of the long wait time. Ashley was phenomenal, balancing making numerous drinks, taking care of bar customers, and making everyone feel valued. Her quick wit aligned with my wife's, and they were a riot together. It's the first time we've sat at a bar when my wife felt so completely comfortable and she felt seen. The food took a little bit to come out, which was to be expected. It was hot and delicious. The people who serve have very good attitudes and are polite as well as good on checking up on the tables. I do have a complaint about the food they bring out to your table. The steak is asssss, my boyfriend had ordered a steak medium with broccoli and mashed potatoes but when they brought it out the steak was so bloody and had so much fat, we basically paid for a portion of the steak. They also only gave my bf one price of broccoli, literally, one. Applebee's hasn't changed a thing since I have gone there many years ago. Looks the exact same. Food prices are more though! Imagine that! We went for Father's Day since it wasn't busy. We ordered a burger with fries, salmon with broccoli & garlic mashed potatoes--then two kids meals; chicken fingers & fries. All of our food was way over cooked, except the burger. I didn't even eat half my rubbery salmon I paid $16.99 for. The tiny amount of broccoli was mush. The potatoes were bland & just globbed on the plate...Our kids could barely chew through the chicken tenders because they were so hard. Overcooked & sat out for a good amount of time...My husband said his mushroom burger was pretty good, but got about 10 waffle fries with his meal. Besides us, there were maybe 4 other people there. Our food took forever because the "kitchen was backed up". The table that got seated after us got their food before us. The waiter forgot our ranch...twice...then didn't bring any for my husband at all so we gave up on that ranch. We also had a baby with us & they thought it was a great idea to put her in the aisle where all the people have to walk through to go to the bathrooms, kitchen, etc, so getting her in & out was a pain because we were in everyone's way. Waited for 10 minutes at the front of the restaurant for a hostess, but we weren't too bothered by this since we had to wait for a few more people to join us anyways. Took 25 minutes after being seated to find a waitress to put our drink order in (we had to literally flag someone down because our table was entirely forgotten). The waitress was polite and apologetic for the most part, although our table wasn't even in her section, she just offered to take it on since she couldn't find our actual waitress. Food took another hour (all we ordered was three appetizers and the restaurant was mostly dead). Food came out cold and tasted mediocre. My wings were completely dry; it seemed like they hardly put sauce on it?? It was basically just breaded chicken. I understand that some places are understaffed, but they shouldn't be seating people that they aren't capable of serving in a timely manner and with decently prepared food. Walked into the restaurant, the host Scott acknowledged me then seated others who had tables ready. Scott returns to the host podium and takes the names of the people who walked in behind me before realizing that he had skipped over me. Scott adds me to the wait-list and tells me that I will be out before the other group, he did not do that, told me it was 15-20 minutes and I get confirmation that I am on the wait-list. 27 minutes go by and the wait-list says we are next, I bring my children and wife inside. Never received the return to host message. Check wait-list again and I can't see it anymore. When I ask Scott what happened he says that he doesn't have my name on the list. After leaving with my wife and crying toddler I returned inside to talk to the manager. Suddenly Scott knows what happened to my name on the list and has a table for me. Manager apologies however the trust of good service is gone, it was a busy Saturday and any other restaurant is going to have a long wait. I love coming here for the happy hour specials for 1/2 off appetizers. Our go to order is the boneless wings, spin dip, and the chicken wonton tacos. Sometimes we get the the chicken quesadilla and mozzarella sticks too. They always have drink specials and there's usually a special alcoholic drink for the month for only $1! You can also upgrade the drink to $2 for more alcohol. I usually stick to just appetizers when I go to Applebee's and it does not disappoint. Got the driest wings I've ever seen and I even asked for them to be extra saucy. I'm not sure what happened there but I wanted to leave but my husband asked if I could pick up a kids meal for our daughter and I ordered the chicken quesadilla and none of the cheese or the little bit of chicken was evenly placed on quesadilla. I ordered a side of fries and a large portion of them were completely frozen. Not undercooked, frozen. I discovered this when I bit into one. I was extremely disappointed in how the manager and waiter handled the situation. The waiter simply said, I'll bring the manager over. She came over with a new plate of fries and said sorry I did take that off your bill (1.99) and then walked away. We were then ignored for the remainder of the meal. No one wanted to make eye contact with us. I don't even know how frozen fries could end up on a plate being served to customers, but something needs to be corrected in the kitchen if that's going to be the experience. Applebee's isn't my favorite restaurant. So, when my Brother-in-Law called be and said they were having drinks (2pm Sunday afternoon), we reluctantly agreed to join them. It helped that it was about 1/4 mile from where we were staying. Our waiter Evan was great, the drinks were good as well. My only complaint was that the appetizers were only okay. This was possibly the worse experience at Applebee's ever. We waited over 15 minutes just to be acknowledged and that was after being "greeted" by a horribly rude hostess who didn't even show us to our table or greet us. When Trevor finally showed up, be was rude, apathetic, and had no sense of urgency. This continued thru the whole meal when he never even checked on us or got us drink refills. The manager passed by our table multiple times and never even stopped in, as our table was overflowing with plates. To be fair, I worked at this location for over 12 years and it should not be run this way. IMO, this is a serious management issue. We won't be back, and I'll make sure everyone knows how horrible the whole experience was. read more

My wife daughter and I ate here last Saturday April 2 2022. All the food came out great except my wife's shrimp&chicken. She took one bit of the chicken and it was cold like it came out of the fridge and so were the mashed potatoes.we got our waitress and told her about the food she offered another meal but we didn't have the time to wait another 20 min for the food to come back so my wife just shared the chicken quesadilla with my daughter. We were still happy things were working out but when I got the bill she still charged me for the meal my wife did not eat and sent back! I usually tip 25% but my tip was the price of the meal so I left no tip. Very sad we have been going here every Saturday for the last month. They charged us $1.99 for both kids and bullied us into getting adult cheeseburger for our oldest kid because he wanted lettuce and tomatoes. The food used to be good but was just meh. This applebees is awesome. My only issue with applebees is I always feel bad for the servers because the drinks and food are so cheap, which makes tips a lot less than they should be for how hard they work. Please tip appropriately. 20% should always be a guarantee (that is 20% of the entire bill BEFORE coupons and discounts are added) and if they go above and beyond, the server/bar tender should be allowed a little extra. Do not go to ANY restaurant expecting to tip anything less than that. These servers work way too hard to be tipped 1 or 2 dollars per table, and they especially work too hard to be stiffed on any size bill. read more

The Yelp wait list means nothing and should be turned off for this store. I like to use Yelp to get in line and save time. I was told that it doesn't matter if you're on the wait list or not. You won't be added to the "true" wait list until you arrive and check in. Every time I've used the Yelp wait list I've always checked in by the time stated I should check in. In the end I've always just added unnecessary time to all of my waits. read more

I'm being nice giving them 3 stars. My friend and I went there and the service was great! But, the food was by far terrible. I got the chicken fajita wrap and the tortilla shell was dry with burnt cheese and it may have had 1/3 cup of chicken and the rest was lettuce. My friend salad was skimped on the lettuce for her chicken oriental salad. I'm sure I got her lettuce. I know they can do better but, maybe they just need better cooks read more

Came to the 28th Street restaurant Sunday for a bite to eat and a drink. Our waitress pretty much ignored me, asked my niece if I was going to order a drink to start. Could not catch her to even get water, 2 of the people got the wrong drink, had to send it back to be redone. Service was terrible, don't think I will go back to that one in the near future read more
