I was extremely disappointed about our take out order from Applebees tonight. We visited the website and decided to order two new salads along with a chicken wonton. The new California chicken salad had no avocado as was advertised on the site. My new strawberry chicken salad was basically a half head of lettuce chopped three ways and dumped into the container. Half of the salad was wilted, brown or lettuce core (white) pieces. Our chicken wonton order had the shells very soggy they broke apart. My spouse stated the grilled chicken tasted like it was from a bag. Not ordering these items again. read more

This place is the most filthy restaurant I've ever seen. Service is awful. Qrc and Applebees have no idea what hospitality is. They love telling guests no!!! This place will make you sick if you eat there. A drink station drain that is clogged up and empties into the ice bin , that is used as "clean" ice for the restaurant. Smell the mildew!!!Gross!!!! I came in today to get a birthday dinner for my sister. Fiesta Lime Chicken for her and Alfredo pasta with chicken & broccoli for me. Her ToGo was great! Mine, I have never eaten a more tasteless and bland alfredo in me life. The pasta was suck together and dry. Absolutely ZERO Alfredo flavor at all. My wife and I were in this location on 9/7 around 9 PM and observed a manager treating his employees terribly very unprofessional mumbling under his breath very rude. I always order steak when I visit Applebees. Never again. The past 3 times I have ordered a steak it was had a lot of fat in it. Sirloin should not have fat in them. I have sent back 1 and not eaten the past 2 steaks. I don't know who they buy their steaks from but they need to change to a better butcher. The young lady who served me was very polite and attentive. She even explained why there were only two choices for the way the meat was cooked -- pink or no pink. It seems the kitchen is instructed to just put the meat on for a specific number of minutes depending on which choice is selected; they cannot deal with the normal choices that range from rare to well done. I would expect that everything is cooked with similar rules, so don't expect to have special requests satisfied. Odd that at a sports bar on Sunday night I would be seated where I could not see a television, especially since I was obviously a football fan. Maybe the hostess didn't like my team. I'll probably be back, but I will continue to explore other places. When I do come back, I will definitely ask for Serenity as my server; she is very good. read more

We moved here about a year ago and although there are not a lot of restaurants in this area we tend to like Applebee's. The wait staff seems to be very nice and the food is always good in our opinion but one thing I do not like is that they charge extra for sauce... Now this is not a small little business were talking about, it's a large restaurant chain that is so cheap they charge for an extra tiny tub of sauce... I'm not trying to be petty I'm just so confused because we enjoyed going out for dinner quite a bit and this is one of the only restaurants that I have encountered that charges for extra sauce I just think it's pretty poor customer service. read more

The few times we've gone for dinner here were pretty good experiences. The food, service, prices, and specials make this a good choice for a dinner out in Greeneville. They have both dinner and drink specials with a large menu for both. Their house margaritas are really tasty and on occasion they're priced at $1. What's not to love about that! The food is good with some dishes being better than other, but the menu is large so there is a lot to try. They have half priced appetizers twice a day and I keep promising one day I'll get there at the right time and just orders apps. I've tried the Chicken Wonton Tacos and the Chicken Quesadillas and both were delicious. For entrees, my husband gets his favorite every time, the Riblet Platter, and the last 2 visits they had this dish as an all-you-can-eat special. They offer 2 different BBQ sauces and the spicy one is crave worthy. It comes with fries and coleslaw which are okay, but the coleslaw is a bit dry and bland. They had an all-you-can-eat special on the Chicken Tenders Platter also, and I gave it a try. The chicken was edible, but it was definitely overcooked and the breading made it taste very processed. Pass on this unless you're a chicken nugget junky, because they offer far better choices. The Double Crunch Shrimp is amazing! Nicely crunchy and the shrimp was perfectly tender and juicy. It was a big portion of shrimp and I was completely satisfied. I ordered broccoli as a side and it was well cooked and hot. The Classic Chicken Parmesan is pretty good but not off the chain. The sauce tastes like a high-quality jar sauce so it's a respectable version of an Italian classic. The Spinach + Artichoke Chicken Penne is a bit disappointing. The chicken is dry and the sauce is bland. It needs way more spinach, artichoke, and parmesan and less overcooked chicken. It had some chopped tomatoes which were a bit mushy and didn't add anything to the dish. The service is always pretty good, even on busy days, and we only had to wait once, very briefly, to be seated. It's a noisy place, so be prepared for that, but the atmosphere is fun and lively. All in all, especially since the restaurant choices in Greeneville are very limited, this restaurant is a good choice for any occasion. read more

Their potion sizes always throw me off and the food never looks like the picture. I tend to always get way less food on my plate then I expect. I even counted shrimp in a picture because I have 2 in my steak and shrimp which seemed kinda weak. Hostess always seem uninterested in seating people when we arrive and it's always weirdly chaotic. I ate here as I was traveling on business. I try to stay out of Applebees, but there were little options in this town. We sat at the bar where there was a group of off duty employees hanging out, drinking, running around the restaurant, and causing an overall nuisance. Half the staff was taking shots out of coffee mugs every 15 minutes. There was no hostess on duty. My steak tasted like beef jerky. That's about it. read more

I went to the Applebee's in Greeneville for lunch & had a grilled chicken salad & ordered a double vodka & sprite w/lime, tall glass & lots of ice. The drink had hardly no ice, no lime, & the bartender apparently didn't put in the vodka at all. The salad was sparse-maybe 3 small pieces of chicken, & myself & elderly friend were rushed to leave. The waitress was not too friendly, like she was doing you a favor taking your order. The food & drink were expensive, and I don't intend to ever go there again. Most Applebee's are pretty much the same with a standard menu and pretty ok food, the difference between one not the other Applebee's is the service. I've been to this one in Greeneville several time for lunch with my colleagues and they have never disappointed us, the food comes out quick and the staff is very friendly read more

Me and my husband came in to watch Tennessee football in their last game of the season. The game was during happy hour. I was very frustrated at first because our service was SO SLOW!! But then we realized our poor waiter was doing EVERYTHING! he was working tables, being the bartender, and working car side. The manager just kind of stood around and watched. The servers whom were ALSO, not helping, were sitting at the best table to watch a game, having meal time. Its mid day--the best games were on and half of the servers were chilling having supper. Its a Saturday....if your restaurant is not packed on a Saturday night during football season... You need to check out what the problem is. read more

Service is okay as long as there is absolutely no crowd. On the day if our last visit a waitress slammed a tray of water/ice-filled cups down behind me as we were waiting to be seated. The tray flipped and spilled cold water all the way down the back of my pants. When I exclaimed (it was cold... and a shock... I couldn't help it) the guy responsible for seating rolled his eyes and said "It's JUST water"... no apology at all. Food was bad. Like "microwaved reheated" bad. I went to sit at the bar and have a beer. While I was enjoying my beer a waitress came up to me and told me to "end my show" and I responded "what show?", then began to tell me that my butt crack was showing and grossing people out. I honestly had no clue that my jeans were riding low in the back. Regardless, it was very rude and I looked back to see a group of waitresses pointing and laughing at me. I wasn't even halfway through my beer, but I paid and left due to the uncomfortable humiliation. When I got home I called and asked to speak to the shift manager. I informed him about the actions of his employees and his response was "What do you want me to do?" I hung up the phone and I will never go there again. read more

We LOVE Greeneville, TN Applebee's because it's close to home, food is excellent, service is fabulous, the Manager always stops by our table to chat & ask how everything is, AND best of all - they appreciate and take care of Veterans!!!! We always get seated quickly to clean tables or booths. Everything on the menu is delicious, and often we go home with left-overs. Husband loves the big cheeseburger; fries are cooked perfectly. We love the specials they have on various days. Their ribs are super tastey with a variety of sauces. We like their $8.99 meals for a good variety/selections. Our son usually orders one to eat in the restaurant & then orders one to take home. They have discounts for seniors and/or Veterans. Their waiters & waitresses REMEMBER you, and you rarely ever have to ask for refills and never have to look for your waitress for any other need, as they are always on their toes watching your table or booth in case you need anything. The prices are fair, discounts appreciated, friendly staff, and super CLEAN. read more

30 minutes for appetizers, over an hour to get our food, one plate was cold (and not even what we ordered) and still had to find our own flatware--FYI if you go there, they keep it near the hostess station in a canvas bin. The table was sticky, menus had (food?) smeared on the pages, wait staff was nearly nonexistent! The only good thing that happened was I was able to have my wife stay at the table while I went shopping at the grocery store! I was back in time to get my meal! Followed up with a call to the "Manager" Justin. I was just calling to tell him that something made us sick--we didn't want anything, no free meals, etc. He merely dismissed my concern saying that "Well, this is just and isolated incident." I tried to explain to him that it could be a problem and I was trying to help them out! He continued to deny any concern about the service or quality of the food at the restarant.
