We came here for the two for 26.00 special. We both had the Caesar salad, which were both very good. Fresh and plenty of cheese sandwich dressing. My friend had a cheeseburger, and I had the Fiesta lime chicken. The cheeseburger was ok but a little bit dry. My chicken was okay, but the rice seemed dry and lacking flavor or salt. We found out that this location doesn't have baked potatoes, which we thought was odd since the attleboro location does. Aside from that, our server was very pleasant and attentive. I don't remember her name, but she was young and had dark brown hair. We thought the music was a little loud, but it wasn't intolerable. I love the spinach and artichoke dip and the lava cake as well but everything else you can tell is straight up out of the box especially the appetizers and I ordered takeout once, had to wait an extra 10 minutes then the actual time that it said it was done, just for them to forget the god damn burger. I ordered the 2 for 25 at the Applebees in Greenville RI. I order the Oriental crispy chicken salad. I was shocked when I got it home and it literally had four pieces of chicken in the salad! What a disappointment! It seems my salad "shrunk"! The price of the "two for" started at two for 20 and now it's five dollars more! Came here again for the loaded fajitas ! They were better the first time around- but they were still good! I got a frozen strawberry summer squeeze and it was AMAZING. So me and a friend go to Applebee's in Smithfield. Maybe we saw too many ads! I ask the waitress if they have fajitas, she replies that it is not on the menu but they can make it for me. WOW my lucky day! I ask for a steak, chicken and shrimp fajita. The fajita comes out, and it was the worst fajita I have eaten in my LIFE! The entire meal was horrible. The Shrimp tasted like chewy candy, the chicken tasted like rubber and the steak well lets just say my dog has eaten better steak. We ordered a Build Your Own sampler, the only thing that had some taste was the mozzarella sticks and how is it to mess up mozzarella sticks. The burger sliders they were ok, and the queso cheese dip, i could have eaten better from Frito Lay! We also ordered a side of wings, the celery was at least 3 days old. Look at the picture! Same Old Frozen Food What can I say it's Applebee's. Same cheesy interior and atmosphere. What I can't understand is that we live in such a small state and this place is always busy with so many great economic eating options. Let's get down to it. Ordered a couple of frozen apps and they were mediocre at best. My wife and I split a club sandwich, it wasn't bad, but it was nothing to write home about. Tip: Monday nights is burger night, $5.99 and there's always a beer special. No fresh 5 out of 10 food and the typical chain restaurant cheesiness. They do have very attentive and friendly servers. I have been to Applebee's on Putnam Pike more times than I can count. They've changed quite a bit due to the virus (I can only assume that's why). The atmosphere and service is still fantastic, but the menu is subpar at best. A lot of the options I had (as someone who is pescatarian [consider vegetarians and vegans]), are gone. And left with little to choose from. The drink menu is still great though! Without the setbacks of the virus I would give them a 2 or 3 (considering the 5 they used to be). Sadly, I probably won't be returning here for a while. read more

Awful experience. We walked in and the host smelled like she just smoke a pound of marijuana, her hair was all over the place & her bright pink nails look like claws. She seats my family & I and asked if we need a high chair ( we had our 9 month old with us) we told her we did, so we sit & get settled the waitresss comes over takes our drink order ... still no high chair. I finally asked the waitress after 17 minutes for an high chhir she exclaimed the hostess probably forgot!!! The hostess comess over and informs us they ran out of High chairs since it's busy( I am a very reasonable person, that DIDNT bothers me but she could of told me this one stead of us waiting). We places our orders and waited 45 minutes finally my sons food came out, but mine & my husband food didn't come. Nexthhalf if my food came out.... 30 minutes later the rest of my food. My husband food still didn't come so we told the waitress never mind then all of a sudden my husband fOod came ouut. The manager comped our whole meal, but wee weren't loooking for a free meall! YTheres something about this place. I'm not sure if it's just my own emotions but I am just sitting here thinking real hard and denying the existence of any of the people around me. All the reviews are about preadults and if you ever were to come here im sure you wouldn't be able to escape the truth of them swarming. The onion rings, one dollar more, weren't great, hence the three stars. Tears are coming out of my eyes almost thinking about how I should have gotten the fries instead. The extra dollar I paid probably could have gone to putting shoes on a young, poverty stricken child with no future. Quesadilla burgers are my favorite burger and mondays they are cheaper and the bartender failed to mention it until I already decided to order them. Thats kind of mean. I've been here a few times, more than a few times and the quesadilla burger was not that bad. I had a chicken quesadilla earlier and it was okay, I didnt finish either of them. This is one of those chains where you know what you're going to get. The Smithfield location is more of a sports bar, with the dining area wrapped around the bar, which includes high tops and lots of televisions. The service is great and they're very attentive. The menu offers something for everyone. While it's not freshly prepared gourmet, it's pretty tasty! And it's very reasonable. We recently chose from the 2 for $22 menu, which includes a shared appetizer and two entrees. For our appie, we chose the Boneless Wings in Honey Barbecue Sauce with Ranch for dipping. They were quite delicious - crispy with lots of sauce. My entree was Fiesta Lime Chicken. It came with MexiRice, which was a little dry. But, in fairness, I'm not a huge rice fan. It was accompanied by a small side of Pico de Gallo, which helped. My date had the 6 oz Top Sirloin, which was cooked to his liking. It came with choice of 2 sides and he chose baked potato and broccoli. It was all tasty and a great deal - We cleaned our plates! I rate it 3 stars only because it's a chain that serves prepared meals of standard items. I must say that they have a nice variety of sides and the service was better than most. read more

This place is getting 5 stars because of the super amazing waitress we had :) Not that there is anything to complain about. I'm not a huge fan of chain restaurants but I was having dinner with a friend and her 11 year old daughter so I relented my choice in favor of the kiddo. So I have not been to an Applebee's in awhile. The young lady we were with has celiacs and is lactose intolerant and Applebee's has its own separate allergy menu which will tell you exactly what you can and cannot eat, right down to their condiments! Extra points for that. The waitress we had was so sweet. It's a shame I don't recall her name. She was young and, as someone who worked as a waitress for 6 years, I could see she was a little inexperienced. But her enthusiasm more than made up for it. She was very attentive and if she forgot something she would run off and get it for us right away. Very minor things, like the lack of BBQ sauce on the BBQ cheeseburger my friend ordered. But things that an experienced waitress would have caught. But I don't care. The restaurant was slammed and she did her absolute best, it was plain she was putting in her all. And her attitude was the best! She was so cheerful and upbeat and she showed no signs of feeling stressed out, which is an advanced skill of a waitress, so bravo to her, bravo to Applebee's and treat her right!! I've come to this restaurant on multiple occasions to this location only and I think I've only once had a good meal. I'm a vegetarian so it's even harder to find something without meat on the menu. All of their items tend to be greasy, fried, and extremely salty. Even their lemonades cannot be more sweeter, leaving a yucky taste in your mouth. Recently I was at Applebees with my boyfriend and friends and had a terrible experience. I ordered the tomato soup and a side of cheese fries. The waitress forgot about my order completely and I didn't receive my order until a half hour later. The only reason that I did get it was my boyfriend had complained to the manager. Our waitress, Wendy, was not ver accommodating, forgetful, and gave me a few nasty looks when I couldn't decide what I wanted to eat on their very "expansive" menu. I was going to order dessert, but the experience left a bad taste in my mouth and I just wanted to leave. Thank goodness my meal was free after being forgotten about because it was not very good. The tomato soup was extremely salty and it had soggy salad croutons covering the top. The cheese fries which I ordered without any seasoning, were still very salty, they were hard and cold and the cheese on top was mexican style shredded cheese, not very good. Even though I like very interesting food and chain food is not my go to option I always give it a try, the restaurant is local and the food is assumed to be quick. Instead our waitress was nasty giving sharp remarks to us at our table and my food took forever. Every time I go back and back, I simply enjoy my company and do not focus on the food. If you want to meet up with friends at Applebees I suggest getting a sandwich somewhere and then coming to the restaurant just to have a drink and hang out. Don't order the lemonade or ice tea though! read more

I have nothing against the Applebee's chain personally, but this was my third ever visit to this location and my third lousy experience. On my first visit, I was afflicted with such painfully slow service I vowed never to return. On my second visit, the food was so bad I was motivated to make my first-ever complaint to a Corporate home office. The person I spoke with was very nice, apologetic and I was assured the manager would contact me right away -- I never heard a thing. This time, I had the unfortunate luck to walk in late on trivia night, and though the food was acceptable and the service attentive (when I could hear her over the screaming, hooting teenagers running up and down the aisles) the noise and chaos gave me indigestion and a throbbing headache. Food is nothing special IMO.....Have to say I've never been to a restaurant where I was given the option of "Pink" or "Not Pink" when asked how we wanted our burgers cooked. I guess the chef has limited ability to cook a burger....well, we ordered "pink" AND our burger came out dry, over cooked and dead. Given TWO choices the chef got it wrong..... Unbelievable! The burger was actually better then I expected, it was very juicy and didn't seem like it was a frozen patty. Onion rings were crunchy and not soggy so thats always good.
