Well you better strap yourselves in because I've got a story for y'all & you'll either be shocked or humored (or both). We were staying in the Hampton Inn across the street and were just driving through Greenwood. We decided that we wanted to get a little ~saucy~ at the Applebee's since we didn't know the town very well anyways and wanted to have a fun night with some cheap drinks. First of all, when we walked in it appeared that there were only two people working in the restaurant. We had a seat at the bar where we quickly realized that this wasn't going to be the night that we had planned it to be. There was a girl working behind the bar that explained to us that the bartender had gone home sick (ahem... Covid?) and so she was the only one available to work the bar. She also explained that she's actually a hostess and only 19 (ummm...). Mind you this place is pretty dead - I think there were only two tables sat and my BF and I were sitting at the bar. I started by ordering a beer on draft and this poor girl was literally asking me how to pour a beer from the tap (lol wat...) and the couple of guests at the bar start trying to instruct her on what to do. Then my BF orders a gin & tonic... which she responds to by giving us both a very weird look. He repeats himself again and she continues giving us this strange look. He says "it's gin and then tonic water", and I SHIT YOU NOT she says "oh I thought you said 'genitalia' - I was real confused". We were both dumbfounded haha - like at this point we're looking around for the hidden camera. She finally puts together a very questionable gin & tonic after trying to figure out which bottle of liquor is gin. When we're ready for a second drink I order another draft beer. Unfortunately at that point now the tap lines are frozen? So they can't pour any draft beer. I ask her what bottled beer they have available and she has literally no clue. She starts lifting bottles out of the ice box and reading the labels to me. I ask for a corona and she's pulling beers out one by one to find one that reads 'corona' on the label. Finally the draft lines unfreeze for one of the beers on draft and this girl literally lets some random guy sitting at the bar come back and pour his own beers. So we finally get around to ordering food - my BF ordered wings and I had some sort of shrimp dish. The food comes out and my BF starts eating his wings, and when this girl comes around and asks how the food is my BF goes 'wings are pretty good, have you had them before?'. Once again I SHIT YOU NOT... as he's eating them she says 'no I don't eat the wings here they make me sick'. We both look at each-other like ~what the f*ck~. The food was really not that great and being told by the server that the food makes her sick while we're eating was absolutely insane. This whole situation was just wiiild and I was sure that we were on some sort of TV show. We ended up only having two drinks because every order was such an effort and we were basically educating this underage girl on alcohol and bartending. I don't think I will EVER revisit this Applebee's unless I'm like 7 drinks in, and in need of a good laugh. In the end, despite the very strange conversations we had with her (eg 'genitalia'), I sort of felt bad for this 19 year old hostess who was just trying to manage a whole restaurant. But, damn, there's got to be some serious mismanagement at this Applebee's. Get it together!! read more

Excuse my language and I really hope I don't get kicked off this app for this, but seriously, FUCK this place. We ordered them through DoorDash, no hate towards our driver because none of it was his fault. When he pulled up with the food, I immediately knew something was wrong because I ordered a sweet tea, of which I didn't have with my order. I shook it off, assuming it was just a mistake even though I paid for it. Anyways, my husband and I ordered the 2 for $20. Our appetizer was mozzarella sticks. He ordered a 6oz Sirloin Medium for his entree with a double order of fries. I ordered a classic cheeseburger as my entree with fries as well. Our bag of food had two boxes of fries so at first glance, I thought everything was fine. Once I started digging to pull out our actual food, our appetizers were way wrong. It had three mozzarella sticks and three boneless wings, that we didn't order. Underneath that was a sirloin steak, cooked well, not what was ordered. However, there was no burger, anywhere. Underneath the sirloin was a box of chips with salsa & guacamole, of which neither me nor my husband eats. The funny thing out of all of this was that our receipt was correct, but the food was very very wrong! So, we contacted DoorDash, and the customer service representative who helped us literally called Applebee's to get our order fixed and redelivered. It was 10:52 at this time and Applebee's closes at 11:00. Regardless, we were notified that Applebee's was fixing our order and that our dasher was at the store waiting on it. However, when it hit 11:00, our order got canceled completely because the store was 'now closed' as DoorDash had worded it, and I was FLAMING. Closed or not, Applebee's fucked up and they needed to fix it, simple as that. Now I'm out $40 and I'm not happy about it. I didn't even get food I would eat other then three mozzarella sticks, great dinner, huh? read more

I was disappointed in this visit at 10:04pm on a weekday. The hostess was smiling and pleasant upon entry. However, my chicken parmagian was over cooked and the marinara sauce on the dried noodles was sparse. My wife enjoyed the tomato basil soup and house salad. The server was sweeping the carpet around us as we ate which is no-no at most restaurants. I was also informed that this Applebee's no longer offers either the 10% military or AARP discounts offered at other locations. They will participate on 11 Nov with the military free meal for Veterans Day which is appreciated. read more

September 27, 2013 6:40pm. We were greeted upon entering in seconds. We were seated right away. We had our drinks in less than a minute after they were ordered. Our waitress Rasheeda was really friendly, funny and when I asked about something that was no longer on the menu she said, "It's on my menu. We will make it for you!" Very cool. Food on table in 8 minutes. Had Bacon, cheese, chicken grill and fries. It was good. My wife had the tomato soup. The place was packed. Refills came ahead of my need for them. We ordered an ice cream shake for our 4 year old and also ordered green bean crispers appetizer and out total was $36.25 for all 3 of us. read more

I was skeptical about going to dinner last night at Applebee's in Greenwood because I have never had a good experience at this restaurant. Now looking back I wish I would have listened to myself and just said no. I entered the restaurant and immediately saw it was crowded. Sure there are seats / tables avalible but it just felt cramped. The host asked me if I would like to have a seat at the bar or table. I told him the bar. I am on my lunch break and figured it would be quicker. As I approach the bar there are more than 2/3 of the seat's open but several have dirty dishes stacked on the bar in front of them. The others have customers from the adjacent tables to close, basically leaving no path to get by if I sat at them. As I looked around the restaurant I saw tables that needed cleaned. The floors needed to be swept. Very few, if any of the servers were pre-busting tables as they went. Behind the bar are two bartenders, one older and one younger. After sitting there for near 5 minutes the younger of the two asked if she could get me anything. I order a soda and ask for a menu. Shortly after the older brings me my drink. Nearly 15 minutes passed and the younger final asked me if I would like to order. I ordered an appetizer, mozzarella sticks, and a chicken tender platter. About 20 minutes go by and the younger bartender comes up to me and apologizes saying the kitchen is going downhill tonight. Roughly 10 minutes after that I finally received my appetizer. They don't appear to be anything special, your typical frozen mozzarella sticks you can pick it up at your local supermarket. They were a little more than room temp. The marinara was somewhat cold and tasted more like ketchup than anything. This was a major disappointment because I have been craving mozzarella sticks and this is what brought me here tonight in the first place. I would give it a 2 / 10. About halfway through my appetizer I see one of the cooks hand the older bartender a plate. It appears to be mine because it had one of the sides substituted and another container of honey dijon mustard as ordered. The older bartender says let me check the computer to see who this belongs to. As she makes her way over to the POS a drunken man yells that's mine. She then turns without checking and places the plate in front of him. Before I could say anything he puts his hands all in and starts stuffing his face. Shortly after the younger bartender reappears carrying a small tray of chicken tenders. She gets about halfway to me and sees the drunk idiot chowing down and says oh that wasn't yours. Then turns around and walks off without saying a word to me. She then comes back a few minutes later with the same tray of chicken with what appears to be a few more fries and another piece of chicken, plus the extra sauce I ordered. She then comes to me and says here you go sweetie. I shake my head and say thank you. Again not one word about any of the mistakes or an apology. The fries may have been the best part of the meal. I would rate the entire a 3 / 10. You could easily go down the road to Sonic and get better tasting food for well under half the price. I was going to speak to the manager but he appeared to be too preoccupied flirting with waitresses and customers or more worried about which basketball games were on TV then dealing with the issues in his restaurant. This service is awful. I came in with a group of friends, and our server came to us pretty quick yes and after we had received our food, it went downhill from there. We were all done eating and she brought out our checks 30 minutes later. She messed up our tickets, so we had her send them back to correct them. We have been waiting for over an hour just for her to fix our tickets. We came in @8:00, got seated @8:30, and now the time is 10:09 and still waiting for our checks and we have yet to pay. Our servers name was Amy, I try to sympathize about it, but I have been to places where it should not take this long and there could've been other people to help her get our checks out fast. read more

I don't know if they were overwhelmed with orders, but we ordered 2 hamburger 1 with mayo, lettuce, tomato with American cheese and 1 with mustard and Swiss cheese. A) we were greeted by an extremely rude hostess who hardly said two words. Then our waitress too way too long to get drinks. It took 30 minutes just to get a refill on a drink. B) the food was absolutely sickening. The food (when we finally got it) was not even warm. My "four cheese grilles cheese" was literally bread with a piece of kraft singles cheese. It was not worth the money spent. C) the atmosphere was not welcoming. No staff member went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. Will NEVER eat here again. Ever. read more

The service here has rapidly declined in the past few months along with the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. The taste of the food it not what it use to be. My last visit for lunch lasted nearly two hours. We waited twenty minutes for a drink order and the restaurant only had a hand full of patrons. First we walked in and this very unprofessional hostess told us we had a 15 minute wait when the restaurant wasn't half full because they were out of clean silverware. Just a great experience! Place was busy but operation ran like a well-oiled machine. The server was attentive and quick (Cheyenne); manager (Holly) came around and checked behind her, making us feel valued and wanted! The food was really good, too. I love their new line of Italian foods. read more

We went here on a Sunday afternoon. It took over an hour to get our food, and the restaurant wasnt even half occupied. We asked for to-go boxes before the food arrived, and those took twenty minutes. Bad, bad ribeye. There were no problems with the staff, but the food was atrocious. I had a 12 oz. ribeye with mixed vegetables and fried potatoes. I grill steaks regularly, and it was obvious this steak was not grilled; it was likely reheated from a pre-cooked state. It was almost colorless, and had almost no marbling. Its appearance was unappetizing, and the flavor and texture were not good. The potatoes were dry, tough, and bland. The mixed vegetables were likewise bland and mushy. Incredibly disappointing. I would have expected better especially given that there were maybe 5 people at the bar and half a dozen tables with customers. First off, I pulled into the "car side to go". It was lightly raining and the signs say something to the fact of stay where you are and we come to you. My child really wanted the pretzels and some fries, so I called up the number and sat on hold for about 2 minutes. Then decided to go inside to order, while still on the phone waiting to give my order. At least 6 different servers looked over at me but never approached me. Then the person finally came over the phone. I told her I was currently standing inside the restaurant, that no one has approached me and that I wanted to place an order. She took my order and said it would be ready at 7:39 pm. I again told her I was inside the restaurant and it is only an order of French fries and pretzels. The current time was 7:19pm. She was just like sorry that is how long it would take. Ok I guess. Then 2 other people came in for their pickup order and left with their food a few minutes later. The one server comes out and says your order is here & it will only be a "few" minutes. I said the lady on the phone said it would be 20 minutes, will this really take 20 minutes for fries and pretzels. She said no. WRONG. It was 22 minutes overall. The server came out of the kitchen twice stating it would only be a few more minutes and that a lot of people wanted French fries. It was ridiculous, since there was maybe 12 customers at tables in the entire restaurant! Not once did a manager come over to check or offer any sort of customer service. No wonder restaurants such as this are becoming obsolete. They have no understanding of how to treat customers. The really interesting part is that I tried to give feedback to an online survey on my receipt, but conveniently the website wasn't working. Typically travel through the area 2-3 nights a month and regularly stop here for dinner. The level of service in the bar area has definitely been on the decline due to constant turnover of bartenders. On my most recent stop, there was no one behind the bar when I walked in and no one seated at the bar. One of the floor staff walking past asked if I had been waited on and pulled my first beer. The bartender returned shortly after and apologized - stating that she was having to "deal with kitchen problems".
